What do you recon the 3rd version of Diamon and Pearl will be ?

You know like Emerald, Crystal.

I wont say yellow, because that was silly :P

Maybe Pokemon Amethyst. That would be cool.

I like the sound of Amethyst, but the general colour of a diamond and pearl are white-ish and gray, so the gemstone used should be that colour. Perhaps Pokemon Opal?

Red -> Blue -> Yellow
They are not similar colors

Gold -> Silver -> Crystal
They are not similar colors

Ruby -> Saphire -> Emerald
They are closer, but the others aren't that close.

I refuse to accept that yellow is a better version of blue - all it does it include stuff from the anime with very little differences.

But,

Diamonds are clear, pearls are white and solid - so perhaps something in between ?

Yellow is no better than blue. The Pikachu that follows you around drives me looney.

Red-Blue/Green-Yellow
Primary colors of light & paint combined (Red, Blue & Yellow of paint, Red, Blue & Green of light)

Gold-Silver-Crystal
Gold and Silver are similar, Crystal doesn't fit

Ruby-Sapphire-Emerald
Gemstones

Diamond-Pearl-Platinum
Diamond-Pearl-White Gold
Diamond-Pearl-Amethyst
Diamond-Pearl-Tourmaline
Diamond-Pearl-Topaz
Diamond-Pearl-Moonstone
Not similar, last ones are possible third versions which are names taken from Serebii.net that are copyrighted names for pokemon games (aside from Platinum)

They may be called "Pearl and Diamond" officialy because of the "red" version being said before the "blue" one.

Ah, Platinum is a good guess.

Alot of people will never have heard of:

Amethyst
Tourmaline
Topaz

So I don't know.

Moonstone and white gold seem too "something" for me.

I forgot about platinum totally, thinking about it - it could quite possibly be.

Very good guesses Jarman :D best so far

Has anyone ever considered that there might not be a third version game for Diamond and Pearl? I mean, there wasn't one for FireRed/LeafGreen.

yeah but they might also make a yellow kind of game though I think it would be kind of bad:)

Precious metals/gems. Gold, Silver, and crystals (refering to diamonds and the insanely rare rubies) are valuable in the world market. It does match.

Anyways, there will probably be a remake just to fix whatever errors are in the DS games.

I reckon they will do it - makes them more cash - makes the fans happy - I see no reason in not doing it ?

Eh. Third version games... I won't buy it, whatever it may be. But, that's just me. :P

Moonstone, like Jarman said, is my fav so far that I've heard...

I'd love for them to do one that is just plain random... that doesn't relate much to the other two. Like Crystal was.

Those were remakes. They don't necissarily need 3rd versions, seemingly.

Took the words right from me, Jarman! Of course there will be a third installment. It is basically tradition.

Oh and Yellow Version didn't count as a third game in Japan. In fact it was only a "Special Edition." ;)

That's because Blue was the 3rd remake. Red and Green first came out in Japan and were followed by Blue. Blue, Crystal (which fits the schema for the last time), and Emerald are all third versions for their respective generations. And the fourth generation will probably end up with a third version as well.

What About Topaz Or Onyx?

Smarties-chan

Maybe onyx or opal? But I'm sure nintendo will come up with a fancy name.

charliechoo

maybe inbetween solid and clear (diamond/clear pearl/solid) like Sandstone since it has holes?

Alistair

Pokémon Limestone? Lol. Maybe Talc or Pokémon Marble or something like that. It would be pointless to name it Moonstone. Why would Nintendo name the game after an item that's in it? I also though about Onyx, but there is also the Pokémon Onix, so that idea is probably out of the window with Moonstone.

it just all depend on how you view pearl. i think that it could be pearl or pearl. in pirates of the carribean, there was a black pearl. I can imagine diamond being white and pearl being black. diamond could have a storyline that made you good and in pearl, the story could have you be the antagonist or something on the lines of that.

Yellow was the third version of R/B (or R/G in Japan), not green.

You guys are starting to get off-topic. BTW the third version is JADE. So stop arguing and talking about different generations of games.

Have any of you taken into consideration that the latest games G/S/C, S/R/E, their colors have been based off of the legendaries in the game, so to offically name the third game you would have to find the secret Legendary (like Rayquaza) in D/P, so i say it is Jade, due to the fact that Lucario is near the color jade, and jade is a precious stone.

maybe it will be pokemon ghost version i was just thinking what is clear and white at the same time so i thought why not ghost but think pearls can sometimes be a pinkish color i think or something like that dont know i thought they would make pokemon black and white looks like i was wrong but there might still be a possiblity

God's golden child, it will be a jewel or a color. Most likely a jewel, but we don't know what it is. Check serebii.net to tell (it is the most reliable fansite).
Sorry if I can't post a website, i didn't see it in the rules

I don't think they would make the title anything too crazy. It will probably be a fairly well-known gem. So far the most likely ones I've seen are Amethyst, Jade, and Platinum.

I really don't have any suggestions myself though

Actualy, who knows, It maybe that D/P are one game, I know i sound silly here but here me out

G/R/B/Y
G/S/C
R/S/E
LG/FR

its gone 4-3-3-2, so a one of is not exactly that out there

writing this I noticed a pattern

Tier 1 & 2 game 1 is G, game 2 & 3 are the letters are wright after another
Saphire and Silver are in the same position. I think if there is a blue remake it would start with e, because emerald, although I have been told on a nintendo help line that the only reason LG/FR were released was because of the bugs in R/B, so knowing what nintendo does with pokemon, Eternal Blue would not beout if the question

since I do not take LG/FR as main streem, I would say the third for D/P would start with e as well

Hmm...interesting points, but I like what Swizzler121 said about each game's color featuring one of the promenent pokemon from the game. (Red, Charizard; Blue, Blastoise; Yellow, Pikachu; Green, Venusaur; Gold, Ho-oh; Silver, Lugia; Crystal, Suicune; Ruby, Groudon; Sapphire, Kyogre; Emerald, Rayquaza)

Following that line of thinking, (and noting that FR/LG are remakes, in which case the most logical follow up would be a Blue or Yellow game,) one can probably conclude that there will be new legendaries / important pokemon in colors similar to Diamond (shiny, white / clear) and Pearl (milky white / black).

Just my thoughts....
