PC Halloween Masquerade 2005!

The premise:

A few days before Halloween, you receive an invite to come to the majestic Obake Manor, a historic mansion just outside of town, for PC's first Halloween Masquerade! You quickly throw together a costume, excited about the prospect of the costume contest, tours of the manor, dancing and other spooky delights!

But the manor is not quite all that it appears...what other sorts of traps, spirits, monsters, and treasure await you?

As your hostess, I have the help of the Kanto Trio (Ash, Misty, and Brock) to make sure the masquerade goes smoothly...in addition to providing the music, here's their services so you know how they can help you on this spooky evening:

Ash: He can cast magic to keep the ghosts away (offense). Also proficient with a sword.

Misty: In case you get hurt, cursed, burnt, etc. at any time, just ask her to cast the appropriate White magic on you. Very dangerous with a whip.

Costume: Has on an all black costume with a tail attached to the back of the pants part. The pants and shirt are sew together and unzips from behind. She also wears a hat type thing which is also black and has two big cat ears sticking out of it. The cat hat also has big blue cat's eyes in the front of it. She also has black paws for her hands with pink pads in the center of them and the same goes for her shoes; they are also black paws with pink pads in the center of them. Also carries around a golden staff with a blue orb at the top of it, surrounded by four golden arches. Still also wears her golden necklace.

Okay, let the party begin!

The moon shone high overhead, giving the pathway to Obake Manor a ghostly glow. Zubats soared in the sky, searching for Venonats to feast on. But inside the house, the Kanto Trio and I were getting ready for our annual Masquerade.

We had acquired the ownership of the old manor after we had offered to restore it...and judging from how exquisite everything looked, you would have no idea they'd been around for 100 years. We'd even befriended a few of the house's ghostly residents, so they often came out to help us with the nightly chores. Our servants and staff seemed to like them as well.

Tonight though, only one of them was out: Espiritu, a playful little Shuppet, was listening to Ash practice the musical program for tonight...

"Please, don't break anything..." a servant cautioned one of the guests as they entered the grand hall. "We have lots of valuables here..."

Espiritu, meanwhile, had abandoned listening to Ash in favor of checking out the guests that had arrived...

Neko gasped in awe as she walked into the mansion. Everything looked so..fancy. She grinned and trotted over to the center of the room, staff in hand. Her right hand grabbed six custom darkblue and silver Pokeballs that were attached to a sparkly dark blue belt she wore over her costume and she held them up, each ball between her fingers and two in her palm. "Come on out, everyone!!" She called as she threw the Pokeballs into the air. They all hit the ground and a bright light flashed. Moments later, six Pokemon appeared; a Rukario, a Mew, a Pikachu, a Raichu, and two baby Pichu, one wearing a blue scarf, the other wearing a red one. "Ok guys ehres the deal, do whatever you want but DON'T damage any of the things in here, ok?" She said cheerfully.

Espiritu raced around the room, enthralled by all the guests. He spotted a pair of Pichus in the foryer and swooped down before them! This scared one Pichu, making him cry.

"Espiritu!" Espiritu whirled around to see Misty descending the grand staircase. "That wasn't very nice!"

"Do that again and I'll cast Holy on you!" Ash added. Espiritu shuddered--every ghost Pokemon feared the Holy spell, and at full power, it could kill a ghost. At a low level though, it just caused a small amount of pain--perfect for keeping some of our more playful ghosts in line.

"PICHAAaa" The Pichu with the blue scarf started crying loudly. The Pichu with the red scarf tried to calm him, and looked up when Raichu came over. "Who did this Spark..?" He asked slowly, glaring around the room. Sparks, the one with the red scarf, studdered. "It w-was that shuppet over there" He said, pointing toward the shuppet. Raichu glared darkly at it, his tail glowing yellow with electicity. He jumped up and lashed his tail out, direct hitting the shuppet. Even though it was a ghost Pokemon, Raichu was still able to hit it directly because Raichu's tail was lit with electricity, a non-normal type. Also he had the powr to hit ghost Pokemon without missing.

Espiritu reeled back, dazed by the Raichu's attack. He quickly recovered, just decided to observe the guests from a candle holder by the staircase.

"What happened?" Brock hurried down the stairs, piqued by the commotion.

"Oh, Espiritu scared one of the guests..." Misty grumbled as she offered some candy to the guests. "No need to cast Holy...a Raichu attacked him for it."

Just then, a Haunter emerged from a portrait in the foyer, interested in the visitors. Brock shot the Haunter a wary look, as if to say "Don't even think about scaring the guests."

"Shall we start a little music?" Ash asked as he reached for a waiting fiddle lying by his chair and began tuning up. Misty hurried over to a nearby banjo and started to tune up. Brock, meanwhile, waited for me to come greet the guests, all thw while fine tuning his guitar.

Finally, I came downstairs. "Welcome, everyone; and thanks for coming to the Masquerade! I hope you'll enjoy yourselves!"

"Shall we start, Lady Sky?" Ash whispered as he raised his fiddle to his chin.

"Of course..." I whispered back. "Enjoy the music provided by the Trio!" With that, a lively reel filled the air...

[Utter Disaster]

Riley made his way towards the Masquerade, but he was a little lost.
Riley: It says turn right on the shoe store...then left on Old Man Gen's house...then straight between the bowling alley and the vending machine...*sips on a soda*...hmm...I know!
Hey pulled out a pokeball.
Riley: Mightyena!
Mightyena appeared out of the ball.
Riley: Ok. See if you can find this Masquerade.
Mightyena nodded obidiently and ran off.

[Utter Disaster]

(Oh dang...Um. Forget this post. My computer's acting weird.)

I smiled as a Misdreavus floated out from a statue to meet me as I mingled among the guests. "Good evening, Luna..." I called to her. Luna just settled as she settled on my shoulder. I could almost hear her thoughts: Look at all these happy mortals...I don't understand why some of them are so afraid of ghosts...

[Utter Disaster]

Mightyena was running through the forest at a fast speed.. All of a sudden, music came along and Mightyena ran towards the source. As ordered, Mightyena found the mansion where the Masquerade was. He ran back instantly until he found Riley.
Riley: Well, did ya find it?
Mightyena nodded and ran off towards the mansion.
Riley: All right!
Riley ran off after Mightyena.

Misty, meanwhile, had abandoned the jam session and was in the process of tidying up some of the parlor when she saw the Haunter resting on the staircase. "Uh, guys?" Is this Haunter friendly or not?" In response to her question, the Haunter licked her!

Ash immediately stopped his song when he saw Misty began to tremble from the effects of the Lick attack....he knew that unfriendly Haunters did that to spite mortals...after giving Misty a Paralyze Heal, he began focusing light into his fingers. "Bright light, shine down on bloody impurity! Holy!"

The bright blast of light sent the Haunter back into the portrait, where it belonged.

"You okay?" I asked as Misty eased herself to her feet.

"Yeah..." Misty replied. "We'd best be on our guard against the not so friendly spirits in the house..."

I turned to the guys, who had stopped playing. "You can play now, Misty's okay." I assured them. With that, Ash resumed playing his fiddle, with Brock backing him on guitar.

[Utter Disaster]

Riley and Mightyena ran up the stairs.
Riley: There's music. I think they already started.
He kept running up until he reached the top.
Riley: Good job Mightyena.
He withdrew his pokemon and entered the mansion.

Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. "More guests?" I asked as a servant let another guest in.

"Yes, my lady..." the servant replied then turned to the guest. "This is Lady Sky, the mistress of the mansion."

[Utter Disaster]

He was a bit tired from running.
Riley: Oh. Pleased to meet you.
He extended a hand to be shaken.

"Pleased to meet you." I replied to the guest. "the Kanto Trio's providing the music this evening...they even take requests.

Luna sensed how tired the guest was and brought over a chair for the guest to sit down. "This is Luna, one of the friendlier spirits in this place..." The Misdreavus just giggled as the guest settled in.

[Neko64]

Neko turned her head as she saw someone enter with a Mightyena. He looked tired as he sat down in the chair next to on of the tables. There was an extra chair there too. Neko shrugged 'Always nice to meet new people' She said as she walked over and sat at the opposite chair where the guy was sitting. "Hiya" She said cheerfully. Just then, Neko's Mew flew over, doing somersaults in the air. "Oh, this is my Mew, Skylie" She said, giggling as she reached her hand up and petted the Mew.

[Utter Disaster]

Riley grinned a little and sat down.
Riley: Thanks.
He relaxed for a while and took out a pokeball.
Riley: Go Gardevoir.
A flash came from the pokeball and Gardevoir came out.
Riley: I think maybe you can help around with the other guests.
Gardevoir nodded and floated away.

Riley looked over to the person next to him.
Riley: Oh, hi. I'm Riley. and that's my Gardevoir.
He pointed towards the Gardevoir floating around.

Neko looked up at the floating Gardevoir "Cool" She said. Skylie mewed and floated next to the Gardevoir and started circling around it, doing flips. Neko sweatdropped. "Uh..yeah she can get like that sometimes." She took off her cat hat and set it on the table. "Man..its hot in here" She said, leaning back in the chair. "So what other Pokemon do you have?" Neko asked, leaning foward again. She was curious to know what other people had.

After the guests had applauded, I motioned for Ash to take center stage. "How would you like to hear some solo fiddling?" I asked the guests. Enthusiastic cheers filled the air as Ash tuned a bit...

Skye:"Wow! She's really good! Why don't you come on out Mightyena,you love this music!"
A flash of light appeared as Mightyeana came out.All of a sudden my Mightyena starts running around like crazy!

"Okay..." Ash was about to start when Luna started tapping on a desk, making a tic, tic tic, noise fill the air. The guests began to stomp in time to the ticking.

"Come on!" Misty started to clap, prompting the guests to join in.

"Are you gonna let me play or not?" Ash snapped--the stomping and clapping had been getting on his nerves.

[Utter Disaster]

Riley: Hmm. Ok I'll show you.
He took out his last two pokeballs.
Riley: Go, Furret and Mightyena!
A flash came from both pokeballs and they appeared. Furret climbed up on his shoulders.

"If you'd like to tour the house, please come with me..." a servant called.

"Dinner will be ready soon, Sky..." the head chef called from the kitchen.

"Hope you're hungry...the mess staff has prepared a great feast for you tonight!" I told the guests, who appeared to be enjoying Ash's solo...

[Saboten]

" This is a nice place! I really like the songs!" Aya said to herself. "Go, Growlithe, Raichu, Houndoom, Combusken." Flash of light appeared and 4 pokemons stood by her side looking around. "Well I hope I'll enjoy it very much."

The crowds applauded as Ash concluded his song. He took a bow, flattered by the applause.

"Quick announcement--if anyone wants to come along on a tour of the house, come with us!" a servant called as Brock ran over by her side.

"Who knows? Some our friendlier haunts may come see you!" Brock smiled. "But remember--usually they're more afraid of you than you are of them."

Bree:Cool a tour I'm coming.*runs over to tour guide*

The servant smiled as several of the costumed guests joined her and the Trio at the foot of the stairs. "All right...first, we'll explore the main floor."

"Before we start, let me introduce you to two of our nicer spirits..." Misty began as Luna settled on her shoulder. "This is Luna...she's one of our more calmer ghosts...

"Dreavus!" Luna chirped in reply.

"And this is Espiritu..." Ash continued as Espiritu landed on the banister of the stairs. "He's a bit of a trickster, but a low level Holy spell keeps him in line for the most part."

"Holy is a ghost's most feared magical spell." Misty added. "At full power, it can kill the ghost, but at low power, it only causes some slight pain...so that's how we discipline our friendlier spirits."

[Neko64]

"Wow, thats so cool!" Kelly said as the guy released his Pokemon. She reached over and petted the Mightyena. Kelly turned her head when she heard someone announce they were giving a tour of the mansion. "Hey, do you wanna have a tour of the place?" Kelly asked, getting up from the chair she was sitting on. Skylie mewed excitedly and landed weightlessly on Kelly's left shoulder. She walked foward a bit and stopped, waiting to see if the guy would come or not. Then she rememered something. Turning her head and sweatdropping, Kelly added in "By the way, uh..whats your name?" She blushed a bit, the said "Mines Kelly"

OOC: Guys you have post four lines or more and you can't use * to describe actions.

Brock motioned for a servant to bring over a ornately decorated blue box lying on a desk. "Let me select a few summons to bring in case we encounter one of the not-so-nice spirits..."

"As you wish, Sir Brock." the servant replied as he opened the box, revealing several Poke ball-like objects, only they were all solid colored...some were red, some were dark blue, some were light blue, some were yellow, and there were even a few that were green, white, and purple.

"These are Summon Balls..." Brock explained to the guests as he selected four balls from the box: one red, one light blue, one yellow, and one white. "When you study to become a summoner, these are where you keep the creatures you can summon. They will only open when you say the magic words for the summon inside..." With that, he heaved the red ball in the air. "Flames, gather and destroy! Moltres!"

The ball opened in mid flight, sending flames flickering into the room...they quickly formed into the firebird, Moltres!

[Dark Night]

Skye comes a little late for the tour after she finally is able to settle her Mightyena down from all the escitment.

"Hey wait up!Sorry I'm late!I'd really like to be in the tour.My name's Skye.Nice to meet you all!"

"All right, come with me, please..." and the servant led the guests down the hall. Brock and Moltres followed close behind, keeping a watchful eye out for unfriendly ghosts.

"The first four doors you see on your right are the personal chambers of Lady Sky and the Trio..." the servant began.

"Besides, mine's locked, anyway!" Brock laughed...

[Dark Night]

"This is cool!I hope we can see some more ghosts!I love Halloween!"Skye said in a whisper to her Mightyena,so as not to disturb the tour.

[Utter Disaster]

Riley got up to follow on the tour. He called back Mightyena and Gardevoir and returned them. He put the pokeballs on his belt.
Riley: Oh. Uh, my name's Riley.
Furret growled happily as if to say hello.

Kelly walked over to the crowed that was about to go off on the tour. She saw Brock release a Moltres. He explained that it was summon. "Cool" She said causually. 'Kinda..' Kelly turned her head and was instantly greeted by her Rukario that had just appeared beside her. She and Rukario used the art of talking through minds to communicate with each other. 'Whats wrong with it, Kaze?' She asked. The other thing she lied, was that nobody could ever listen into their convosation. 'Its nothing really' Kaze said casually, gazing up at the fire bird flying gracefully around the mansion. 'Its just when your a legendary..it kinda takes the effect out of thiking of it as 'cool'' Kelly giggled inside 'I know..thats what I thought even though I said it' She looked up at the Moltres.

Moltres looked down and saw a Rukario looking back up at her...the same Pokemon that had taught the Trio magic a year ago. Since she didn't see any threat in the wolf-like Pokemon, she let it be.

The group emerged from one hallway, and turned down another, where they were led into a massive library, where the group saw Pikachu putting some books away...a Haunter hovered narby, ready to help Pikachu if he needed it.

"Pika, Pipika!" Pikachu waved to Brock. The Haunter took what was left of Pikachu's pile and telepathically put the books back on the shelves.

"Chu." Pikachu thanked the Haunter as he climbed down his ladder.

"That was nice of you, Beryl." Brock replied to the Haunter.

Thank you, Sir Brock... Beryl "replied" via thought. We were having trouble getting the library back in order after some rogue Duskulls trashed it this morning... Moltres squawked at the mention of rogue ghosts...

[Utter Disaster]

Riley heard the Moltres as if something was wrong.

Riley: Uh..is there something wrong?
Furret looked confused as well.

"Oh no!Is something wrong with Moltres?The poor thing!"

"It's all right, Moltres..." Brock assured his summon. "The rogues are gone for now."

"Pika!" Pikachu climbed down from the ladder and joined the group as they departed the library and entered the room across from it, the dining hall. "Here's the dining hall...if you will make yourselves comfortable at the table, the wait staff will provide you with dinner for the evening." the servant explained...

[Utter Disaster]

Riley: Cool. All right then.
He pulled up a chair and sat down. Furret jumped on to the seat next to him.
Riley: Isn't quite what I expected, but it's nice.
Furret nodded in agreement.

[Breezy-Chan]

Bree:This place is soooooo cool.*sits down almost on furret*

Furret:*jumps out of way and onto Riley's lap

"All right...we will begin with the salad course." the servant began as the kitchen staff rolled out giant trays piled high with salads. Once everyone had a portion for themselves, soft crunching, chatter, and Pokemon noises could be heard throughout the room.

OOC: The salads are lucky dip--everyone gets a different kind with a different dressing

Riley was eating some of the salad as well. He fed some pieces of lettuce to Furret a few times.

Furret growled happily as if saying yes.
Riley: Good. I like it too.

Kelly sat down at the side of the table and Kaze sat down at the chair next to her. 'Hmm' Kaze grabbed a plate of salad and Kelly took the one next to it. Kelly took the fork that was next to her and tried the salad. 'Cool ranch' She said tlepathicly to Kaze. 'I got ceaser' Kaze said between mouthfuls. 'Lucky!' Kaze grinned at the comment 'Well its not my fault you always choose wrong whenever something comes up' He said, chuckling a bit on the inside. Kelly mentally growled sarcasticly to Kaze and they both continued eating.

"How is everything?" the servant asked. Compliments came from all corners of the hall.

Just then, Beryl appeared carrying a platter piled high with rolls shaped like pumpkins, Zubats, various Ghost Pokemon, and other Halloween shapes.

"Thanks, Lady Beryl!" one of the wait staff cooed to the Haunter as she took the platter from Beryl's ghostly hands and began distributing the rolls.

[Utter Disaster]

Riley took two biscuits, one for him, one for Furret.
Riley: Here, you want one?
He handed one to Furret. Furret sniffed curiously at it and began nibbling at it. Soon, the nibbles turned into little bites. Furret growled happily and continued eating it. Riley took a few bites as well.

"Haunter!" Beryl sent butter pats, jelly packets, and honey packets raining into the hall, sending the guests into a frenzy to grab the toppings...

[Utter Disaster]

Riley: Wow. They keep on coming.
He grabbed a knife and spread some jelly on his biscuit. Furret also wanted a topping. Riley took it's half-eaten biscuit and spread some honey on it. He handed it back to Furret, who continued eating. Riley took another bite of his biscuit.
Riley: Mmm..this is good...

Kelly took a honey packet and started spreading honey over the biscuit she took. Kaze took jelly and started spreading that over his. 'This is..weird..' Kelly said through her mind. 'Hm..?' Kaze asked slowly while nibling on his biscuit. 'What is..?' He asked slowly, not really paying attention. Kelly said 'Nothing..I just feel funny.' Suddenly a small little Haunter appeared next to her. Kelly turned her head and, by suprise, gasped. "What..the.." She continued to stare at the little Haunter and sweatdropped. 'Um..okk...' Kelly looked at her plate and grabbed one of the biscuits off of it. She handed it to the Pokemon. 'Want one..?' She said telepathicly. The Haunter understood her, took the biscuit, and nodded greatfully. He then floated down onto Kelly's shoulder and started nibling at the biscuit. '...weird..' Kaze said. He shook it off and continued eating his biscuit.

"Are we ready for the main course?" the head chef asked as the guests finished their rolls. affirmative nods and compliments wafted all across the room. "Very well..." With that, he took more plates off the tray and gave them to the guests.

Kelly and Kaze each took a plate from the table. The little Haunter took one and disappeared. Kelly sweatdropped. 'Wonder where hes off to..' 'I know' Kaze agreed. Kelly opened her try to find chicken and mashed potatoes. Kaze opened his to find turky and stuffing. 'Its not thanksgiving yet though..' Kelly said between stiffled giggles. Kaze sweatdropped and started eating. Kelly did the same. 'By the way..wheres everyone else?' She asked to Kaze. 'Don't know' he said casually. 'What?!' 'The last time I saw them, they were in the main room.' Kelly got up from her chair. Kaze turned around. 'and where might you be off to?' He asked. 'To go and get the rest' Kelly said to Kaze. With that said, she snuck out of the dining hall and crept toward the main entrance room. There she found her Mew, Pikachu, Raichu, anf two Pichu. The two baby Pichu jumped ontop of her shoulders and the rest followed her, Skylie floating above her head. "Come on guys" She whispered to them "You gotta eat too!"

"Enjoying your meal?" I asked as I entered the dining hall and took plates for myself, Brock, and Moltres. Moltres happily scarfed down the spiced Rattata meat on her plate, while I started on the shrimp I had gotten for myself. Brock, manwhile, was savoring the stir fry he had gotten.

"Be sure and save room for dessert!" I cautioned as I ate.

[Utter Disaster]

Riley saw some of the turkey and took some. He began eating lots of it, since it was pretty juicy. Furret poked him a bit.
Riley: Huh? Yeah?
Furret pointed to the piece of turkey on his plate. He had never had turkey before.
Riley: Oh, sure! You can have some.
He handed a tiny piece to Furret who began eating instantly. He growled happilly to show he liked it.
