Who wants to see some trivia from "Adventures in Pokesitting II"?

I don't know much about that (o.O) but I'd like to see some trivia =P

When I quote from the story, the place with the trivia will be italicized...

Episode 1:

You can help Brock set up the back room..." Misty explained. "Lily says that the Azurills like to sleep in seperate cribs..." She paused for a moment to show Ash an old photo of her and the Cerulean Sisters that lay on the coffee table nearby the couch. "The one Lily's holding's named Mizu..." she explained, pointing out an Azurill with a sparkling red bow on its tail. "...and the one Daisy's holding's named Umi." She smiled at the Azurill Daisy was holding, especially noting the sparkling green ribbon on its tail.

"Okay, so Mizu is red, and Umi is green..." Ash noted as he started up the stairs towards the back room. He began repeating to himself "Fire red, leaf green...fire red, leaf green..." as he walked upstairs so he wouldn't forget how to tell his two charges apart.


The two Azurills' names mean "water" and "sea", respectively.

Ash is referring to Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green to tell Mizu and Umi apart

Okay...what kind of a song should I sing for these two?" Brock asked as he checked his tuning one last time.

"Ooh! Play...that one you've been practicing on!" Ash suggested.

"All right..." and Brock began to play a slow and quiet melody, over which he sang:

I remember this song, I've known it for so long...
And it feels so good to hear...
Sounds a little sad, but sweet just the same...
Lovely melody....
Whenever I hear this song, I really don't know why....
It makes me shed a little tear... At this, Umi brushed away a small tear as she listened to the soothing sound of Brock's voice.
But I'm sure my tears will soon disappear,
Because I know you're here... Mizu smiled as she moved her head to the music.

Whenever I am feeling sad,
And everything around looks bad,
All I have to do is think of you!
I know my dreams are waiting to come true!

Let's go on with hope in our hearts,
Love will surely show us how!
Let's go on, our hearts filled with dreams!
Let's go on and find them now! He gave the strings one last strum to end the song...


This is referring to a little known PlayStation game called "Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure...what Brock is singing is the heroine's theme song in that game."

Trivia for episode 2:

Brock had to play 'Let's Go On' at least fifty times..." Ash sighed as he set Mizu and Umi on the counter. "Did you like Brock's song? Hm?" he asked Umi as he turned on the radio, causing a relaxing melody to go drifting into the room.

"Azu azu ri..." Umi replied. Mizu nodded in agreement--but not before she pushed a plate off the counter. Umi giggled as she pushed off another plate, sending Ash into a frantic scramble to catch the falling silverware.

"NOT AGAIN!!!" Ash screeched as he hurried to catch the falling plates--he remembered Ami doing this, so he was determined not to have all the silverware break again. Thankfully, he managed to return the plates to the cabinet before the plate pushing got too out of hand.


A nod to the original "Adventures in Pokesitting"

Maybe we could provide some entertainment for them?" Max suggested, waving several sheets of paper in the others' faces. "This is a story I wrote for school...it's about a Pokemon puppeteer who goes on an adventure to rescue the princess he loves."

"I claim the hero's role!" Brock announced, psyched. "Do I get to kiss her at the end?"

"Nope, sorry..." Max laughed. "No kissing...but you do get to sing!"

"And Ash can voice Pikachu!" May suggested, pointing out several lines that mentioned a Pikachu. "Come on, let's go get ready!" The babies watched, bemused, as everyone rushed to get costumes, create a set, and take care of effects.

"And now, we present to you our production of 'The Puppeteer's Princess'!" Ash announced to the babies. "Enjoy..." With that he raised the curtain on a makeshift stage, revealing a makeshift set of a town. The babies smiled as some soft music played in the background...until Brock suddenly appeared in in a spotlight, clad in a purple and gold vest and black pants.

I know that you're out there and I'm waiting for you! he sang. Taran is my name and I'm a puppeteer too! he sang, obviously getting into the role of Taran, the hero. With my Poke-friends, there's nothing that I can't do! he continued gesturing to Pikachu, Combusken, and Beautifly as they appeared on the stage sitting still, presumably trying to act like puppets. They are there to help me make my dreams come true, and once you get to know them, they just might help you too. And all the Pokemon in the world... he sang, making a big gesture that nearly knocked Combusken over. will help me find my way to you! I know that you're out there and I'm waiting for you!

There he goes again, he's so in love... Ash sang in a high pitched voice while Pikachu mouthed the words, giving the babies the impression that Pikachu was singing.

"So?" Brock asked Pikachu.

As if lightning struck him from above... Pikachu continued to "sing".

"But it did!" Brock protested, causing the babies to giggle.

I love you, princess, you are my true love...Taran, won't you stop the silly dreaming, please? Ash continued to sing as Pikachu.

"Can't you see?" I'm just trying to make my dream come true! Brock sang again.

"In a tunic like THAT???" Ash taunted in his Pikachu voice, causing the babies to laugh again.

I've done everything, a guy's supposed to! Brock sang as he danced across the stage, completely ignoring Pikachu. I bathe in the healing spring, even wash behind my ears! he sang as a set of a spring appeared behind him.

"Oh!" Ash gasped in his Pikachu voice.

All the water may tickle my nose, but it gets me squeaky clean..and when I'm done, I look so beautiful! Brock continued to sing, complete with striking a dramitic pose on "beautiful".

Taran, you're such a silly guy! Ash taunted as Pikachu. You must look further, than mere appearances to see... On this line, the music stopped as Ash continued: "Taran? Are you following this? What's important is..." WHAT'S INSIDE OF YOU!!!!!! he sang in time to the music, holding the word "you" for emphasis. The babies howled with laughter as Pikachu's dramatic pose.

"What's inside of me..." Brock mused as he settled into a thoughtful pose.

Don't you understand what I am saying to you? Ash asked as Pikachu. Look inside yourself and you will find out what is true! You must be courageous and be true to your heart... It will make you happy when you know just where to start!

I see it's what's inside of me... Brock sang.

"Yeah! What's inside of you!" Ash exclaimed.

Someday I'll find my love, she'll be the one for me...I'll be waiting patiently until she comes! Brock sang, looking out stage left for his princess.

"I told you, don't wait! You take the initiative!" Ash snapped as Pikachu, making the babies laugh again.

Now I remember...think for myself! Brock sang.

"Yeah, that's it!" Ash exclaimed.

Someday I'll find her, and she wil be the girl of my dreams! Brock sang again.

We'll share our lives as one, until the end of time! Brock and Pikachu sang together. Someday our hearts will beat as one! They waited for the music to finish before yelling "YEAH!" to end the song.

"Azu! Azu!" Mizu cried as she applauded.

"Riiiii!" Umi agreed as the set changed to a forest...



More "Rhapsody" references...the song performed here is called "Someday"

Here's a new fic idea I just had...

A little background for you:

On some Looney Tunes compilations you see on TV, the cartoons usually have an interlude in which the stars mess around onstage. So I thought: "What if Pokemon had something like that?" Thus, the idea for a script fic was born.

Ash would "host" the "show" telling the audience about his adventures, answering fan mail, and the like... which would every so often be messed up by Team Rocket (which would often lead to an episode)

Other surprises include guest hosts talking about their important episodes, a musical number by Brock, and more!

So...write it, or shelve it?

Here's a club exclusive sneak peek at my latest project:

Mission 1: Mystery of the Disappearing Pokemon! (part 1)

"Beautifly....Beautifly.....Beautifly...." chirped a Beautifly alarm clock, whose face read 8:00 AM. The clock's silent eyes watched as the room's occupant, a Pikachu, threw off its blanket, stormed over to the dresser, and hit the "ALARM OFF" button by the clock's right wing before stretching its arms. I'm awake, already... he thought as he shot an annoyed glance at the now silent alarm clock. He was about to go back to sleep when a familiar cry jolted him awake: "Ring Ring! Rescue Force!"

"Good morning, Pokemon Rescue Force..." came a familiar male voice, a voice that Pikachu recognized as his master: Ash. Interested in this potential new mission, he hurried out of his room, down the stairs, past the kitchen and the living room, and into an office, where he saw the image of Officer Jenny blip onto the videophone screen.

"Hi Ash..." Officer Jenny began. "We've been having a rash of Pokemon disappearances as of late, and we don't know who is doing it or where the Pokemon are being taken. If you could remain on alert for suspicious activity, I'd appriciate it."

"We'll keep watch, okay?" Ash assured Officer Jenny before the screen blipped off.

"Aw..." Pikachu sighed as he climbed off Ash's desk. "I was hoping we'd have a new mission or something..." He took a moment to look around at all the newspaper clippings detailing past missions that decorated Ash's office. It had been three months since the Rescue Force's last mission, so any phone call meant a potential mission.

"Hey, Pikachu..." a voice whispered. Pikachu whirled around to see Treecko in the doorway. "Who was on da phone?"

"That was Officer Jenny..." Ash explained. "She wants us to help her solve a Pokemon disappearing spree, so we're on alert for such activity for now. No mission."

"Come on..." Treecko led Pikachu into the living room, where the some of the other Rescue Force team members; Torchic and Mudkip, were gathered around a card table. Chips of various denominations were scattered about the room, signaling that a game of Hi/Low Stud poker was about to begin. "Let's play a few hands while we wait for a mission."

"You got it!" Pikachu smiled as he settled in a chair between Torchic and Mudkip before counting out five 1000 credit chips for himself. Playing cards was one of the Rescue Force's favorite pastimes when they were not on a mission...Treecko was good at every game, so he dealt rather than played in order to give the other Force members a chance of winning.

"We all know da rules, right?" Treecko asked as he shuffled the cards. "Best of ten wins a match, six in a row pays six to one, Silver cards pay double, and Gold cards pay four times as much." Affirmative nods came from the three players. "All right, we'll begin." With that, he dealt a 3 of clubs for himself before passing three other cards face down to the others.

Mudkip looked at her card: a Queen of spades. "I'll call lower." she began. Treecko nodded and dealt Mudkip her next card, a 9 of clubs. "Lower." she called again, sending a 5 of clubs to her hand. "Higher." She gasped when she saw a 2 of spades enter her hand. "Rats..."

"Mudkip goes bust! Play passes to Pikachu." Treecko reported. Mudkip sighed as she watched the others. Hi/Low stud was her best game, but she had been on a losing streak lately.

Pikachu, meanwhile, studied his card: a 10 of clubs. "Lower." he called. A 3 of hearts was dealt to him. "Higher." He groaned as another 3 landed in his hand.

"Pikachu goes bust!" Play passes to Torchic." Torchic nibbled on some bread as Treecko readied the deck again.

"Lower." Torchic called, but sighed as a 9 of spades appeared in her hand. "Aw, man..."

"Since all three players are bust, I will stand without calling." Treecko announced as he cleared the cards in preparation for the next hand.

"Some hand that was..." Torchic sighed as she received her card for the next hand.

"I know..." Pikachu agreed. "I really need a Shiny card this time..."

"Begin hand 2..." Treecko reported.

Mudkip made a face when she saw her card...both she and Treecko had 10s. "I stand without calling." she replied.

"All right, play now passes to Pikachu." Treecko called.

Pikachu smiled when he saw the 3 of hearts in his hand. "Higher." Next came a 4 of hearts. "Higher." A King of hearts appeared. "Lower." He smiled as a Queen of clubs appeared in his hand. "Lower." He winced when a 10 of clubs appeared in his play area. "Stand."

"Pikachu stands at four calls." Treecko continued. "Play passes to Torchic."

"I got a 3 too!" Torchic cried when she saw her card. She started calling in rapid succession. "Higher...Lower...Stand."

"Torchic stands at two calls." Treecko reported. "Now...I call...Lower." He winced as he drew an Ace. "Bust...you guys win three to two."

"YAAAAYYY!!!!" Pikachu led the cheers as he, Torchic and Mudkip collected the pot, but the celebrations were cut short by a bell ringing. Red lights flashed through the whole base as a siren begin wailing. The pandemonium meant one thing: a mission!

Here's something weird I discovered:

If you watched "Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers" growing up, you may remember its theme song...and it sounds amazingly similar to Pokemon's first opening at the very beginning.

I was watching TV one day, and Pokemon happened to be on. I came in at the part where Misty asks Brock to trade Vulpix.

A few seconds later, my sis came in the room, and she was interested too, so she watched with me...and then Eevee appeared on the screen.

Both of us screamed "AWWWW!!!!!!" at the top of our lungs.

I went shopping today ro spend my Christmas money...here's what happened:

--departed to Barnes & Noble
--looked around in there
--found the manga aisle
--only Slayers and Zatch Bell looked remotely interesting
--found the comics aisle
--bought Baby Blues #20, "Our Server is Down!"

For the uninitated, "Baby Blues" is a comic that takes a humorous look at raising a family through the eyes of the MacPherson family.

The main cast:
Wanda (the mom)
Darryl (the dad)
Zoe (the eldest child; my favorite character)
Hammie (the middle child; Zoe picks on him a lot)
Wren (the new baby)

Anyway:

--returned to the house to pick up my dad and sis.
--comforted sis (a close friend of hers moved away, and she was a little bummed)
--dad took us out to a nice Chinese place. My fortune: "You have a keen sense of humor and love a good time." (That fits me perfectly!)
--dropped sis off at work
--went to Wal-Mart
--browsed in the books...found a new Bible and a Chronicles of Narnia cover to put it in
--went to Best Buy
--bought In the Groove (PS2)
--went to my grandma'a house for a while
--and here I am!

TO Do list:

--write the last two "Ash and Pikachu episodes
--start Season 2 New Year's Day!

Presenting my first crack at a scripted songfic, I'm parodying "The Monkey Song" from Animaniacs...

"The Mankey Song"

(guitar intro as we look in on Brock and the band playing in the theater)

(Ash joins in on whistle...much to Combusken's chagrin. She stomps over and shoots Ash The Look. Ash quickly stops playing and pockets the whistle. Brass and steel drums continue as the light comes up on Brock strumming to the beat.)

(Ash dashes backstage and resumes playing his whistle, much to the delight of Bonsly, Togepi and Pichu, they dash onstage before Brock can solo.)

Brock: One sunny morning, I got up late,
And there were these Mankeys outside the gate! (Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu run around Brock's feet)
The guards tried to stop them, they had no luck,
The Mankeys broke free and they ran amok! (Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu run offstage, forcing Brock to chase after them)

I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: So I dropped by to see the studio nurse, (we see Nurse Joy tending to some Pokemon)
I came downstairs, and what could be worse?
The Mankeys were doing a crazy dance, (we see Bonsly and Pichu dancing)
And they put Ledybas inside my pants! (we see Togepi do just that, making Brock dance along with Bonsly and Pichu)

I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: Mankeys dance, and I dance too!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: I ran onstage, and grabbed a stick, (Brock swipes a drumstick nearby the drummer)
I'm telling you guys, those Mankeys were quick! (Brock is shocked at what he sees back in the Pokemon Center)
Cause when I returned, much to my disgrace,
The Mankeys had Nurse Joy in a warm embrace! (Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu cling to Nurse Joy)

Nurse Joy: I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Pichu: For a credit, I'll give you a clue!

Togepi: I didn't know your eyes were so blue!

Brock: I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

(Brock dashes outside to escape the babies. Ash takes this opportunity to solo with the band. He continues to play as Brock dashes back inside and all around the backstage area.)

Brock: I went for a bath, took a shower, and shave,
The Mankeys gonna send me off to my grave!
The entire bathroom was laid to rest,
And they tried to shave my head with toothpaste! (We see Brock with a mound of toothpaste on his head as Pichu and Togepi prepare to shave him, or try to. Brock races from the bathroom before the shaving begins)

I don't know what to say, the Mankey's won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: These guys are crazy, I'm telling you!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: Now by this time, and without much flair,
They used a basting brush to comb my hair! (We see Togepi and Pichu doing just that, making Brock's hair stick up in fifteen defferent directions)
I asked them to leave, but they stayed around,
They pulled the handle and I went down! (Pichu flushes Brock down the toilet)

I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Brock: Call my agent, I'm fixing to sue!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

(Ash and the band solo again as Brock chases the babies, but Combusken stops Ash mid-solo. A dust cloud ensures as Ash and Combusken fight each other. Brock gets pulled into the fray as Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu dance by with maracas. Before they can dance out the stage door, Brock finds them, and the chase resumes again.)

Brock: My patience ran out, and this time for sure,
I am gonna show those Mankeys the door!
And if they don't leave, I'm inviting you, (Brock throws on an apron and enters his dressing room, where a pot is simmering on the stove)
To my place for dumplings and Mankey stew! (We see Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu in the pot)

I don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do! (they continue cooking Brock)

Brock: Now I'm in the stew...oh pooh...

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pichu: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do! (Brock escapes the pot and runs away!)

Brock: Watch out for Mankeys, I'm telling you!

Bonsly, Togepi, Pichu, Ash and Nurse Joy: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!

Bonsly, Togepi, and Pikachu: We're not Mankeys, we're just cuckoo!

Bonsly, Togepi, Pichu, Ash, and Nurse Joy: Don't know what to say, the Mankeys won't do!
