Honestly...Nintendo in the future is going to get swamped with the new technologies and new ways to play and will simply REFUSE to change it's way of selling its products...

Nintendo has the best nostalgic game titles on them! They have the ability for the best hardware! They have, thousands of different things they could do to boost their games!

But what does nintendo do???

They choose to send out their good games at the WORST possible times! They have their hardware with HORRIBLE looking design and they wonder why they're called a kiddy system! They do absoulty HORRIFIC advertising campaigns for their biggest games! What is wrong with them!!

If Nintendo was smart, they could easily overpower Sony and Microsoft with their titles. Nintendo has a winning lotery ticket on their hands, they're just too stupid to cash it in!. I mean, even though SOny and Micorsoft may have new games that are good and all, nintendo has one big thing that sony and microsoft do not and will not EVER have....NOSTALGIA!!!

Is there a videogame icon in the WORLD more popular than Mario? If you say yes then your just being ignorant. Is there an adventure game that has been bigger than Zelda? NO!! How many times had nintendo KILLED the competition with excellent games witht he same name over and over and over again?!? TOns of times!!

I think that ever since they surrendered their company over to Iwata-man that the company has simply dug itself a deeper and deeper hole. They choose to ignore sony and micorsoft and are convinced of their own superiorty! That's not logical!!!

HOOOARGH!!!! WHY!!??!

Nintendo needs to think if they want to stay alive in the console race...honestly...

BOO YA! NINTENDO! DO YOUR DUTY!!

The year just starting and Nintendo cant keep up. :dead:

Gamcube only got 11 games coming out this month. Metal Gear Solid and P.S.O 2 may make the most money. And Pokemon Colloseum doesn't count cause nintendo made it. So thats ten, this is sad.

Now, GBA has five games coming out this month. You heard me, 5, 5...5. And two of them are by Hipgames? Hip who? Nintendo is just producing now-a-days.

they're not THINKING! Why does nintendo have the best games but the worst leadership, it's like they don't care anymore...

it's truly sad...

Have you ever noticed that Nintendo always seems to win game of the year?
They do have the best games and they're my favorite company! They could easily blow Sony and Microsoft out of the water! If you think about it, the video game world would be a pretty sad place (although it already is a little sad hehe....) if it weren't for Nintendo. People seem to take them for granted now. I agree that Nintendo needs to keep up with the times to stay competitive, but people also need to have more faith. I say.....they make Mr. Miyamoto president! He comes up with all the ideas anyway! Hehe...

Nintendo has always been 3rd lately behind the XBOX and PS2. They do need to get their act straight. With the other two, you can play DVD's and CD's, but with the GameCube, you can't. Nintendo just doesn't seem to care. They seem too lazy. :(

like I said before, "Nintendo has the winning lottery ticket, they're just too stupid to cash it in!."

Last time I heard, GBAs sell more then X-Box, PS2, and GC combined. That's not what I call crashing...

And who needs to see DVDs in a video game system? There is an invention called a DVD player that came out before PS2 and X-Box. And the X-Box is just a computer that uses controllers instead of keyboards. The Gamecube has most of the best video games for the newer consoles (super Smash Bros. Melee, Star Wars Rogue Leader, etc.).

I think the GBA has put out some really good games this year. Mario&Luigi: Superstar Saga is a great use of licenses, characters, and a good RPG to boot! Hm. ^_^;

Yes, Nintendo has always been on top, and they have some excellent games already. For GBA, we have excellent games such as Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Mari and Luigi Superstar Saga,Pokemon Ruby6 & Sapphire etc.Now for the GC, we have SSBM,Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Pokemon Collosseum, etc. With these great games, Nintendo has stayed on top, and will remain in that position for a very long time, if not, forever. So sorry, I have to disagree with you, Nintendo is not crashing anywhere. If anything, Nintendo is rising far above any othe rgaming system and any game company

I couldn't agree more. However, a lot of thsoe games were published my Nintendo, they didn't make it themselves. Those games rock though! They're some of my favorite games ever!
I think people were talking about how Nintendo is falling behind money and popularity wise. One thing I know is, I'll always be a huge fan of Nintendo! The only system I've ever had that wasn't Nintendo made was the Sega Genesis. I didn't even buy too many games for it though.

Well, I never have had any game system that wasn't Nintendo.Nintendo will always be that classic gaming industry that will always dish out great games, and that is somthing you can always be sure of.Ever since the original Super Mario Brothers, they have always done a great job with all of their games

I remember when I was little and lived back in California, I got the NES for Christmas. I thought it was the newest thing!.......oh yeah, it was in 1994 when I got it for Christmas (my uncle gave it to us) and the actual NES came out almost a decade before. I realized I was decieved only a couple years ago hehe....

Huh? What are you talking about? I meant that the SNES was already out at that time, and I was still with the NES. I still have it too! It was so cool! The duck hunt game was pretty fun hehe. I would never do that in real life though! I remember there was some game my dad loved to play. All I remember about it is that you go outside of a town, meet up witth a bad guy, and fight it. All they showed was a pic of the monster, and all the fighting was in words. I remember things like...
"Dad was stunned!" "Dad gave monster 10 damage!" "Dad defeated monster!"
It was pretty funny hehe....
There was probably more to it, but I can't remember it much.....

Yeah, that's what I was starting to think. It looked a lot like it that's for sure!
The Mario Bros. game was awesome too! I loved the Kirby game they had. It was the one that was remade for the gba, the "Nightmare in Dreamland" one. That was one of the best games I've ever played.

You know, if it weren't for the NES system, the video gaming industry probably wouldn't be going as far as they are right now....Kinda weird whan ya think about it for a few minutes

Yeah. Imagine how the video game industry might be if Nintendo didn't even exist! There might not be one at all! But if it did, I know what the games will be about.....killing! And I'm not interested in that even in the least! Nintendo seems to be one of the few video game companies out there that actually have modest games. Those are the kinds I like!

Yeah. Nintendo is doing bad with consoles right now. I remember back then when the Super Nintendo dominated everything. It was known as THE console. If you didn't have it, you're not playing video games. Genesis? Who's heard of that? Super Nintendo destroyed the competition (at least they put TurboGrafix16 to SHAME).

Gamecube.....they're no longer undisputed, Nintendo. And probably will never be. And Myamoto isn't even the president of Nintendo...(Yes, GBA sales more than GCN, PS2, and Xbox combined)

Kairi
March 3rd, 2004, 5:37 PM
They do seem to be doing well on the piracy front of consoles, probably because it'd be too much of a pain to crack and burn those minidiscs, or to get ISOs on it. I still think full-sized DVDs and more online support would really make them stand out, but I own more GCN games than I do any of my other next-gen consoles.

Umm..11 games in 1 month is excellent! To tell you the truth, I'm tired of seeing these "Nintendo's Going Downhill" threads _ Nintendo isn't going downhill, it is doing pretty good at the moment. The truth is, all console sales have been lower then previous years, it isn't just nintendo, it is all of the systems. For example: when is the last time Xbox made a decent game, even any game at all? Pretty much all of their games are spread to all the other consoles as well. And PS2 is not doing as good as it used to be as well, so don;t just get the impression that only Nintendo is doing slightly worse this year, ALL of them are.

March 3rd, 2004, 7:23 PM
You know, you say 11 games in a month is a bad thing.Ever heard of quality over quantity?I bet you that those 11 games can beat all of the other games XBOX produces in 2 months, because nintendo will always give you quality, no matter how few games they give you, you can always be sure that each is a quality game.

Gamecube is better because it has SSBM..

I've beaten three times, going on four. I guess replayability is just tad bit different to me hehe...

The XBOX is pretty much a computer. I honestly think Microsoft makes better games on their computer than on their console!

And I hope Nintendo and HAL come out with another SSB game soon! The last two are so awesome! They're the greatest fighting games of all time in my opinion!

Nintendo has all the characters you love. The have all the mascots. When you think about video games, the first thing that pops into a lot of people's minds is Nintendo. They're the best company out there!

bna_li: We were talking about which was better, XBox or GameCube.
Kairi: I agree with that. I mean, pirating games are illegal anyway.

Everyone else: XBox running Linux? I think yes :-D
Aren't XBox games easy to pirate? And PS2 games?

Aren't GameCube games small in disc size? 2 GB or so? Still massive for an emulator to load into RAM XD

Personally I reckon Satoru Iwata's been very much into putting technologies into Nintendo's consoles. The GameBoy Advance really puts his technology view into perspective, with the Wireless Adapter (which he got Nintendo teamed with Motorola to do). I believe he'll do so with the GameCube...

Anyway, Pokmon Fire Red and Leaf Green is a Game Boy Advance release. And the marketing is mostly aimed at the GBA now. But just because us people are only getting 11 games for GCN and 5 games for GBA this month, it's a totally different story at Japan, I know.

Dakota its sounds like you have some major issues...just kidding...but its kind of like a love hate thing with Gamecube...I love it cause its awsome...I hate cause they are stupid for not comming out with better games.

In my opinion, I don't like the games cause all they have is the same old characters that everyone knows. (Mario, Samus, Starfox, Link) and they base so many games off of those charcters.) Thats not to say that those are the only games cause there not. You do have a point though they have a "winning lottery ticked...there just afraid to use it." That and they need more of a varaity.

Well until they do something new and better than what they have I am just going to say that PS2 is 7X Greater than the Gamecube.(inside joke thingy)

Hiroshi Sotomura
March 6th, 2004, 1:22 PM

Kairi
March 7th, 2004, 9:08 PM
Yeah, I think they're around 2 GB. I have that much RAM though, not that I would use it for that. =X There is a method using Phantasy Star Online to play ISOs, but it's supposedly so complicated to do, and difficult to obtain or create the ISOs that it's not hurting sales at all. With the Xbox and PS2 you can just buy a mod chip, and with the Xbox rip say, oh I dunno, your friends' games to your hard drive...

the only problem in this ocnsaole year is that almost all 3-d consoles are made in CDS!! I know it cool and all but what happen something like this?

Kid : Oh yes, i am at the last level of <game name>
*suddenly u fall sown and the cd got scratched*

Well you can always store them in their (DVD-like) cases... and portables are more deserving of the cartridge format.

Isn't the PSP going to use minidiscs though? I can't imagine its battery lie could compare to the GBA SP if it does.

John Denver
March 8th, 2004, 1:06 PM
Shadow is right, what I'm saying in this thread is same I put in the other thread...yeah..merge I don't care, they're both the same thing...

And nintendo better come out with a sequel to the gba or psp will DESTROY it...

a lil bit of BOO ya!

Hiroshi Sotomura
March 8th, 2004, 11:26 PM
No they won't. The mini-disc format isn't quite as durable, and CD whirring is a problem as PSP will have to continually read from the game. And if it doesn't have much RAM, I imagine loading times will make you rather play your Game Boy Advance. The current milestone's appearance doesn't look to ergonomic either. I am nowhere into the PS2, except for Kingdom Hearts, and have liked the GameCube all the time. Nintendo's Game Boy lines have always been durable. I reckon it will be kinda hard to handle the minidisc when it's outside it's casing (which any CD needs!) so durability will be quite thumbs down. PlayStation has only survived through producing many games, while GBA has it's own numbers of icons.

If only Lucifer were here to make his comments. I liked comments such as the comment on whether Microsoft will make it's own portable :-p

What if the next GB could serve as an MP3 player? That'd be cool, and a GBA with sound that's like computer speakers (clear and crisp)...

John Denver
March 9th, 2004, 2:02 PM
I saw a prototype of nintendo's "trump card" as they said it. Its a portable that plays both gamecube AND gba games...it plays mp3's and loads and slices and dices and walks the dog...

let's hope it's useful..

BOO ya!

You mean the one where he said that the Microsoft portable system would have FBI-Hacking, Sandwich making, and other such technologies? Hehehe...

Speaking of Kingdom Hearts, that is something great on PS2 that Nintendo is getting! Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GBA!
