Yeah, I think I'll change the Ash minisprite but only a little bit, this is because I don't want to alter in deep the Naranja classical appearance.
Maybe wearing it with blue clothes like in the sprite (you can see both above).

Well Don Sergio (;)) I got some time to see the new events and the improvments the Beta2 had, and well, I think you may have released it a bit too early (due to finding many errors), but, oh well, we are all happy to see Naranja back into action.

Everything about the game was great. I only keep wondering when will we be finally able to get CUT... XD

Most likely I haven't finished playing the Beta (you like hiding lots of things, so I have to keep searching), but so far 10/10. Keep it up, hope to see a Beta3 this year (highly improbable, huh? :P)

Okay before i was writning a kind of fast.
i was going into ivys lab, and brock came in, after he came he was going out in the garden meet ivy, then there is a viplume and i workt away, when i came back the viplume was making the stun spore, and now i can not go near them and i cant go in to the lapras, so what shall i do? how do i get the lapras and how do i do the event white the viplume and the lab?

Also i love how its really like the orange islands like the race at navel island gym and racing at mikan island,and brock heheheh it makes me laugh so much.

As for suggestions Serg!o, I have 2. The first thing (I think) you should do is make all the doors one size. I noticed that a lot of the doors have the dimensions from Ruby, while the others have the dimensions of FireRed. Another thing (I think) you should do is replace the cliff tiles. It would look better if you made your own.

Pokemaniaco help me doing the most of the translation, anyway there was a lot of texts misundertoods but i think there wasn't be too much losts details in the translation.
Instead some texts are improved. By example in the spanish beta i hadn't time to change the Jessie's text, but in the english version she has a more propper speech.

Well I think this time you will enjoy it a lot.
It have a lot of aspects never seen before.
Like more advanced events, funny characters, new trainers sprites and a thing that obsesses me: to use the normal moves as if they were HM, by the moment there are no more than 3 or 4 like when you use your Pikachu's thundershock for a dissapearing magic trick:

It's not due to technical limitations. And there are no proper map of Orange Islands. That map was of a DVD release (edited by me).
Anyway every Orange island is based in the animes features. If you find any fail tell me, but you are being unfair telling they aren't geographically related to the anime.

just reporting some glitches. I talked to the girl about the Crystal onix and I ended up fighting a lvl 32 Snorlax. I ran from it then talked to here and she said some weird symbols. I then checked my party and a Dragonite was there and also in my PC.

In the Orange Island the Pokémon have different colours because of the adaption to the climate, but its not due to radical mutations. Anyway like the ADN of the Orange Islands it's the same, the colours mutations are the same, too.
Yeah.
Anyway in the Pokémon Naranja the normal pokemon do not look like the shinies, and the tropical ones don't look like the shinies either.
The reason because not all the Pokémon have diffrentes colorations is that the Pokémon which can cross the ocean between the Continent and the Archipielago, like Wingulls and the acuatic Pokémon, are the same in both sides. So this is the reason because only the terrestrial Pokémon've tropical pigmentation.

Well, i've paused the studies a little for make a titlescreen. It'll be in the Beta2 extension: the beta2.1.

It has been a paranoia because I had to do a lot of Tilemap's parts in Hex, like flipping the left side of the Sun.
The titlescreen it's a visual metaphor between the Orange fruit and the Sun, and it plays a little with the confussion of Orange (colour) and Orange (fruit).
Hadn't sense the old green titlescreen.

Okay, after get a Lapras and level it up, you have to be found out (in Tangelo) that exists an Orange League in the Orange Islands.
It's important to talk with everybody in the game.

Most likely you are using a mugs Ruby rom (if it originally had an extra screen before the classic screen with Nintendo's copyrights (when it still was Ruby, obviously), then it's a mugs rom, you have to find another one, 'cause this hack is really a Ruby hack)

(By the way, I agree with the Crystal Cave thing... I never figured out how you must do them, so I searched with AMap, and judging the values and movement permissions it is not possible at all... Meh... I got out of it, anyway... :badsmile:)

Zel, I looked over advance map aswell. I found it by accident, after about half an hour of searching. But what Sergio did was make one of the sides act like a ledge which you can jump over and down to the platform where the warp to where you can surf to crystal onix.(Sorry if that is hard to understand)

It's bizarre. Well anyway if you've got the second badge and have ended the Rocket adventure in Kabuto Island's cave you are finished the beta. For a bigger defy you have to go to the Trainer's Desert at the East of Mandarina Islands.
It's VERY hard so it will take your time.

I lost because all I had was a Pokemon with Splash (I think it was a Feebas or Magikarp), so I got transported back to the Valencia Island Pokemon Center.
When I tried to retry my battle, and tried to get passed the stairs on the way there, it says something like "Humm..." and then a whole bunch of Spanish words, which were translated into something like "We shouldn't go back here because we should talk to Professor Oak to get back to Pallet Town.".
Probably a scripting problem, where the script says "right when you enter the forest, you can never turn back.", which shouldn't be hard to fix (by the information I know about scripting.)

Anyways, this hack is probably one of the funnest games I have ever played, and the leftover Spanish words make the game very original and lets you learn some Spanish.
(And, obviously, the words "Si" or "Non" are common".)

Yeah, but i think is more amazing not only to put they into a rom but to make all run: when all works it's so gratifying.
I think it's important to tune up the gfx but probably the most iportant thing is to join them with the plot.

Yeah sorry that's a silly bug of the game. It will be fixed for the next release. Like it only happens to a few people, maybe you can sort it up with the code 4B5B552A0429A69B, it will appear in your PC. I don't like this solution but well might be good for get out of the problem.

I just finished the crystal onix cave...but for some reason, after catching the onix, and leaving, I came back to the cave for some training and I was walking on the water! And then a flash appeared when i was under a passway, and the onix came back! And then the guy who you were supposed to catch the onix for gave me HM 06. I don't think two crystal onixs are supposed to happen but i was supposed to get rock smash right
Edit: I mean whirlpool, not rock smash :P

Yes, Mysterious Dungeon has good overworlds. Sometimes it's a great help and it fits perfectly in Pokémon Ruby.

For be honest, I have no idea what Ill do for Golden Island, the island of Meowth named after the golden oranges. Anyway in SP the people send me a big gold statue of Meowth. The episode was about the Golden island inhabitant worshipped meowth for the attack Pay Day but Meowth couldn't use the attack. In the episode Ash & Co. appears in the middle and have a minor role, so I'm complety lost... Go can I focus it to a RPG game?
Probably I'll invent a plot.

Anyway I miss in that tool an option which could automatically include the texts compiled with Thingy despite adding the offsets manually to the ".ini".

The texts in spanish was precissely the texts which wasn't in the atext's ini.

The new, i am drawing the wreck ship's tileset (Moro isla) i am about to finish it so I hope tomorrow I'll have inserted the tileset. After the Ship graffics I'll make the minigame.

No! the opposite: when you ask too much you're helping me to keep this thread updated.
About that three islans: the Fire-, Ice- and Lightning-island are considered part of Shamouti Island (called this way after the Shamouti Oranges (http://images.google.es/images?hl=es&q=Shamouti+orange&btnG=B%C3%BAsqueda+de+im%C3%A1genes&gbv=2).
All the "clues" indicate that Ash and friends reached Shamouti after leave Trovita Island (3rd gym) so iy will be included as a special in the Beta3.

This is caused because for inserting the lava block-behaviour (which Nintendo always have negated to players, except for Mysterious Dungeon where fire pokemon can cross over the lava). So i maade a test and I redirected the pot behaviour to a new script like a test but later I decided to postpone that and I suppose I overwrite that script with the Mandarin Pikachu attack. Yeah, a stupid fail.

So, you need ideas for the meowth episode?
What about this:

The route to the next island is blocked, so tracey suggests to go to the closest island, wich is the meowth island. When you reach it, you found the rocket's submarine in the sand.
Then, you see Jesse and James running away from the giant meowth golden statue.
The villagers then battle you (I guess some of them could have a skitty) until you reach meowth, who is sitting in the middle of a coliseum. question about the game.
i just deafeated the first gym leader and im in mandarina.
i went to the power plant but i cant beat butch and cassidy because i cant find the stinkin battery, i went to the wall and couldn't find it.
also where is the onyx cave?
is it cave of sunburst isla?
if it is, i can't go inside, it wont let me.
also i found an item by the statue by the first gym
if you click it you get a ???? item.


so can anyone elp me?

Alright, that does it! The first chance I get, I'm making a video walkthrough of this entire beta.

Also, it seems to have been a while since there were any updates. I hope Sergio didn't leave the hack again.

Pretty much he hasn't left hacking, he's most likely busy between his stuff and his hack. Because, according to info posted on WAH, Sergio plans to release the Beta3 for Christmas (but, as I always say, don't pay that much attention to release dates, they are annoying...), but still, at least we have an approximation for when could we be playing once again on the Orange Islands.

In my opinion, it seems a bit strange the date, I haven't seen Sergio talking much about stuff of the B3, so I would think there's still quite a good ammount of stuff to do. But, what do I know? I'm not the hacker here :P

Well, Sergio, for when you return over here, I'm wishing you luck. I'm anxious for being playing that B3!

Yo serg!o your hack is amazing,i've completed it,but there are still several bugs some examples are---you can go to prof ivy lab by Glitching at a forest tree=.-,there will be brock and ivy saying there are poisoned & nids healing...
The elite 4 has a little difference,the 1st elite trainer is donel,which looks like brock macho style.the elite 4 champ is gary...
Here are some interesting ones---Lugia is Darkness Lugia in naranja(from pokemon XD)
and celebi turned out to be manaphy! how ftw is this? but still serg!o nice job :cool:
