guys i found a huge bug. i just beat the first leader [the chick ridin the blastoise] and i won and whatnot and surfed back to the main island. i surfed right around the area of the cruise ship and then i walked back to the grass and i get some wording thats in spanish, but its the script that you get when you try to go into sand before u have lapras. basically what the bug is, is that i am far past the point where u get lapras and what happens is i go to the pokemon center and tracy talks to me like it was my first time there, then i go to where u first get lapras and tracy stops me and says i have to get access. so basically i got the first badge and when i go back to the first island, it acts like i just started the game. just letting u all no

Go to the south of the island, there's water there. Then look for a gap between the rocks on the left side, that way you can go (back) to the route.

Do you remember deactivating their machine before? You get it from the same place. If it's not there, then your game is suffering from a common glitch.

hi all this hack is awesome but i'm stuck like most ppl and i already did searching but the answers don't work, i'm stuck at the point where you need to get the battery for the power plant and then u fight cassidy and butch. People said you just click the switch to take the battery but i get the messages that other people are having such as "battery already taken" or something like that, it just doesn't work.

Some people said that entering the cheat codes might work but the thing is i'm playing this on Vbag (a GBA emulator for UIQ 3/Smartphones), and the emulator doesn't support entering gameshark code yet so i can't enter it. I think i can play it on VBA and then save it and then trasnfer the file to my phone and load it from there but i don't think Vbag supports game with cheats activated in it so i don't think that works.....

could someone answer my questions plz? And 2 bugs i found that others haven't listed are:

1. If u look at ur Trainer card, i.e u open up the menu and click ASH or watever name, and u see ur badges and money etc and u look at the picture, Ash is wearing his hat properly but during battle his hat is worn backwards.

2. I find it hard to find my way and progress through the game because the entry points aren't shown properly. In the proper game, you'll know exactly where the entry points are and where to enter, it shows it very clearly but in this game who the hell knows u have to enter a forest of tress which can be any other tree? It's hard to play if u don't know where to go.

3. And also, i'm a bit disappointed at the english translation, most of it doesn't make sense, even though i understand it but it's screwed up and most stuff are still in spanish. Can't u guys use Google Translate to do that and then do a bit of editing?

First of all, I'm not really sure why that happens, I think it's a glitch that happens in Pallet Town or something.

Second of all, it's suppost to be that way. If you watch the Show, then when Ash battles a pokemon, he turns his cap around.

i'm talking about entry points, e.g. when u enter a house or cave etc. For entry points like Pokemon Centre and Marts, you know exactly how to "GET INSIDE" because u see the door or the Mart stand/stall.

But for entry points like forests, it's hard to tell where you go, the Onix cave is obvious so i'm not talking about that cuz u can see the cave entrance with the dark hole, but e.g. when you surf down to the little island you have to enter between the tress to go inside the forest where you find Meowth and Jessy, know wat i'm talking about? U have to go inside the tree on the little island to enter the forest.

But how will people know you have to enter the tress? There're so many, it's like a secret passage, nobody will know where to go or how to enter if the entry points aren't shown correctly or obvious. Another example is when you exit places you'll see a little arrow and you usually know where the exits are as it shows a rectangular mat and when you stand on it you see the exit arrow, but for this game when you enter the forests or exit you don't see it, some places you do but not in forests, which makes it hard to find out how you enter places and where you go because it might as well just be the background, it's like trying to walk into a building with no door but maybe you have to enter it from the back. Get my point? Or should i take screenshots?

Haven't you checked it more carefully, Esmas? That "thing" as you call it is none other than Celebi :D
(Don't ask me what's it doing on the game or what does it have to do with the series, 'cause I don't remember Celebi showing up on the Orange series. Most likely it was something Sergio put to show the "update tilemap" feature :laugh:)

after i described wat i was talking about the entry point, nobody seems to answer it despite after so many posts after i posted it..........oh well.

BTW, i haven't seen anyone asking this nor have i seen ppl talking about it but u can get Bulbasur (can't spell but it's just a fukn name) in the forest where u fight Jessy and also where u catch Vileplume. To find it, just surf south from where Vileplume is (on the little land in the middle of the lake) and u'll find there's only 1 grass patch on the land, u can't walk into it so just click it and u'll encounter Bulbursor.

EDIT:

This is a very annoying bug and must be fixed, the trainers are all screwed up, e.g. a swimmer in the ocean turns out to be an electric guy or watever it's called, a chick on the beach turned out to be a hiker and everything is screwed up. Genders, hair and clothes, types, etc. All screwed. Even the day care centre, u talk to the chick outside and it turns out to be a man, wtf?

I recommend that you start over again.

This seems to be the most common glitch of this beta (it happened to me too), and it's been posted a LOT on this board, but I can see you're new here, so maybe next time you can read up on the threads a bit before asking a FAQ.

Question 1(Crystal Onix's cave): In one of the rooms, there's an ice iedge on it. Go to the room(where is near the ice ledge.), then surf on the water, then battle the Crystal Onix!! Well, i would like both to apologize to all my supporters for the lack of information and to thank the post'ers for keep this up.

I've read the last pages and more or less there isn't nothing new. The sort of post like the one just below this. But yeah I put the blame on myself for don't update the thread.

The problem is that I have never stopped the machine but because of the classes I've reduce the rhytm to a minimum, maybe this way the good work be concentrated.

Meowth episode:
The route to the next island is blocked, so tracey suggests to go to the closest island, wich is the meowth island. When you reach it, you found the rocket's submarine in the sand.
Then, you see Jesse and James running away from the giant meowth golden statue.
The villagers then battle you (I guess some of them could have a skitty) until you reach meowth, who is sitting in the middle of a coliseum. When you talk to him, he reunites with Jesse and James, and then they battle you. They go away, and you go to the next island. Oh, and you could also put a hidden nugget in the island.
-Maybe a Haunter Overworld which you have to chase around in order to battle it
-Battling all of Meowths followers, and dethroning him
-I would like to see a Spinarak Event

I dont know what error i possibly could have made, which is why i come here.

I even used Lunar to manually patch the game. (and tired the renaming patch method)
I know for a fact that its the english version of Naranja (orange)
I know for a fact that the ruby ROM is the english USA version
And i've never had any problems with my VBA with any other hacks, and I've retried the process a few times

EDIT: I found a different USA version of ruby (not the one by mugs) and it works with that version. thank you for trying to help

I wonder why people don't try following the rules of any RPG:

"If you think you are lost, think twice. Try to talk with everyone, and try to go everywhere you can. Sooner or later you'll find the correct place or people to proceed further"
(in fact this is told in the Help Menu of the Pokemon games... wonder why don't you follow it?)

In your case, you've gotten your surfing Lapras, what would you do? Start surfing... Where? Everywhere you can, from east to west, from north to south. In the end you'll find your next destination. Of course, you may end up in a lot of places that don't seem to have any apparent importance, if so, just backtrack and look for other places.

I don't like being explicit, maybe if you remember this words it may increase your skills as an RPG gamer ;)

I should create a basic guide just on where to go. I keep seeing more and more questions of where to go. Although I must admit, where to go isnt exactly clear. and Atom, you need to surf south from the first orange island town to get to a forest, then continue till you get to the first gym. then you go back to the first town after that, surf north from someplace (which i cannot recall at the time) and you'll find a city-looking place with tall buildings, then its fairly clear from there

I cant seem to get the patch to work properly. Even though I patch the ips to the rom, it doesnt seem to work properly.

When I play it in an emulator, the game will freeze if i try to view the intro. And if i just skip it and go on with the game, the graphics will be a little glitched. Both oak at the beginning and your little overworld sprite(at the naming) are glitched. When i finish naming my character, the game glitches and either freezes or restarts.

Is there any answer to this ?? (i've tried both USA dumps and the europe dumps).

I like this hack a lot, and it's a great idea that you make it like the story of the orange islands! it's only too hard to know what to do, especially for people that don't watch the anime, like me. I was stuck at the begin after I got the pokedex and activated it, and then I was stuck. I didn't knew what to do, but I found out that you just needed to go in the zeppelin. that's one of those "hard points" cuz the guard says that no one is allowed to go in the zeppelin, and oak didn't said you had to go in there, so you couldn't except that. but with a lot of playing you can go through all those "hard points." and other than that, it's a great hack, congrats!

In the ghost ship maze, I suggest the following:
- Fog.
- Creepy music.
- Wild ghost pokemon (maybe the Fire Red "ghost" you can't attack/catch).
- Items like elixer scattered in dead ends.
- Map pallet in shades of black and gray, with dilapidated tables, curtains, strange newspaper clippings
- People who appear and disappear when you walk into rooms (like in DP).
- Creepy Haunter statue with red eyes.

Yes, it's the one that says "Pokémon Orange", just click on "Descarga" and you'll get the english translation of the game (however, being a translation from the spanish version you can expect some mistakes and some parts forgotten to translate)

e.g. if you edited a map in fire red, you can't patch a hack on it, it will get all messed up.

Yes, there are not many steps you must do to get the English translation, or just get it to work.
For the English translation:

- Go to the main thread of the "Pokémon Naranja" 2005 Hack of the Year. Next, scroll down the page, around the bottom, above the fan userbars/banners, then click on "Download the English Patch!" or something similar to that. It should send you straight to WAH, where the download of Naranja English (known as Orange) is waiting.

And if you need it to work, these are some things that you might need to change...

- If you are using Visual Boy Advance for the first time, you should go to Options --> Emulator --> Save Type --> Flash 128k. For GBA ROMs it is Flash 64k, I believe. I don't know why it's like that, but that's just how it is.

- You might not have downloaded WinRAR, WinZIP, or Lunar IPS. These are usually essential, because most hacks come in either a WinRAR or WinZIP format, so you need this. And it is a very bad idea to give a straight-on ROM, so people make it IPS-format.

- You might have not set your keyboard's directions correctly... just go to Options --> Joypad --> and then set whatever it is you need. (Ex: If you press A, that means that it is A in the game, but I usually make the Spacebar my A, so...)

Anyways, just some useful tips for beginners who don't know how to start Naranja, or any other hacks that have been released to the public.

I got a certain issue.
When I get the English patch and a copy of the Pokemon Ruby Rom I downloaded, I patched it as usual. But when I played the game, it gets frozen before the title loads.

I tried everything, even downloaded the Luna IPS to patch it. But it doesn't seem to work. As in, the patch hates me. TT^TT Pls. help me in this problem.

you might want to try re-downloading the hack itself perhaps? the ruby Rom i have works like a charm. if the ruby rom you have is the MUGS version, it will not work.

Wanna know what I did?
I played a New Game in an ordinary Ruby and saved it in the screen after the title screen with Shift+F1, then I load the save file on Naranja and it worked perfectly. :P

That's the problem...the rom. The non Mugs version is hard to find even if I had to search the internet. I know it has a AX something code in it or something..

Well, sergio this hack is awesome, but just there is a problem (well for me), you use some tiles to the R'SE style, and i think that the FR style stay'll much better, I recommend to you that makes your tiles to the FR's style, it' stay'll cool XD

You don't, i haven't played this in a while, but there were 2 places i remember going.

1. go to that place where the kirlia OW is (near where you got lapras) and surf if there is any water (probably not, but that's what i remember)

the 2nd thing i remember is surfing off one of the beaches and getting to the first gymleader eventually after a long time.

It's easy to get stuck in this game unless you watched the anime series of the orange islands (i didn't, it was hard)

Hmmm.....
There are 2 things i remember (only 1 is right, though, so...or maybe both are wrong...just try 'em!)

1. i remember surfing from one of the beaches, and going down to find a route.

2. go to the daycare place (where you got lapras), and go outside to where you see the kirlia.

Go down where the path opens, and go through the trees to find water (i think this one is wrong, but try it)

Plus, some parts of the game still think you are in hoenn, after getting surf i accidently ran into latios, or was it latias? Cant remember, its the blue one. I also got a shock when i took on the first gym thinking the pokemon would be fairly low cos its the first, my pokemon where 20 and her blastoise was 25! It took me 4 attempts at least to do it. But otherwise it is great.

In the crystal onix part, pls look at the profile of PKMN Naranja in YouTube posted on the first post.

In the latios/latias part, the blue one is latios and the red one is latias, well, before you encountered them what did you do first?

In the gymleader, Serg!o followed the anime PKMN order and the Blastoise is really strong, anyways try and try again and you'll beat'em...

um about the whole hoenn thing i played the game and got to an lsland. i was stopped by a trainer and his pokemon were swellow and i dont know because swellow was lvl 25. i died and went back to the earp spot that looks like kyogre and then i couldnt surf anywhere. i could only go to mandarina island and any where on starter island. couldnt surf anywhere cause game told me that i have to get back to kanto and i left a hoppip at the area were you get lapras and tracey tells me to ask for permission and i cant is that a bug or is my rom dirty

i think it a bug. it happened to me. just go back to the lab to get permissin talk to tracy agen go to the pokemon center talk to that guy next to the counter talk to tracy in the center then you can surf agen. hope this helps.

and I am clueless of what to do next

I can't go very far in the Power Plant because Pikachu reacts badly to it and everywhere else is blocked by trees that need cut to use

DW, i noticed that bits of the game are still in spanish, but i learnt that it is still possible to get through the game with some spanish in. I cant speak a word but after a while you kind of get used to it and start to learn without noticing!!

Since I couldn't fight Butch and Cassidy I think this is why these glitches happen.
When your in J&J's room when you talk to thr reprter he acts lika rock smash rock and the game glitches up.
The oddities are:
1.When you battle Jessie and James they have male Swimmers sprite.
2.Jesie and James' pokemon are Koffing and Duskull(With an Arbok's sprite.
When it should be Weezing and Arbok shouldn't it.

Well today I decided to play Pokemon Naranja and saw the modified intro.
I saw something VERY familiar in there...

That Dark Lugia is modified from a Lugia I made myself for one my Ruby hacks a long time ago.
I never gave permission to anybody to use it.
I'm not blaming anybody... But if you check the sprites, and put mine over the Dark Lugia, you'll see the leg and torso are nearly identical, and the head is totally identical but It was just recolored.

If the creator of this hack can contact me, I'll be really appriciated :) Thanks!

i like this hacks alot, my friend bought it in china and im playing it on my ds but i dunno there a lots of hihg level pokemon its a bit ridiculous, it took ages for me to get my lapras to learn surf i mean lvl 5 geodudes?, and spearow is impossible to find, other than that its awesome

Where did my post go? It said what is the AR/GS code for the battery?since I have the glitch the prevents me from obtaining the battery so i cant go inside kabuto cave or fight butch and Cassidy, and I sure as hell am not starting a new game...

Just to inform, the problem about the stolen Lugia sprite from the intro of the hack is now solved ^^
Sergio contacted me and said the Lugia is going to be replaced.

If you bought the game in the form of a cartridge then you bought from pirates! Nevertheless Cut is not obtainable yet...
And I would not trade a Cut Pokemon over as the trees could be used by Serigo to block unimplemented areas...

this hack imo is a pretty gd hack (as most spanish hacks are), but translation into english slightly poor (as most spanish hacks are, again), its easy to get confused in this game with the large isle-like landscape in the hack...and development seemed to have crawled to a (seemingly) halt? (quote:i hope to release beta 3 before christmas (2007?))
