Making Pokemon more Happier towards you...

I'm playing Pokemon Crystal Version...

I am trying to get me Eevee to evolve into an Espeon. Appearantly, you have to make it happy. So far, I've tried haircuts, and I'm virtually broke from buying so much medicine (HP UP, Carbos, Calcium, Protein, etc.) on my Eevee. Well, I've talked to that person that sees your Pokemon ("Oh? Let me see your _________ ) And the response I get back is ("I get this feeling that it really trusts you.)

I haven't been able to make it more happier than that... Is there something I'm missing here? Any help would greatly be appreciated. ^_^;

What I always used for happiness were X Special etc. Just get into a battle with some of the fished up Poliwags north of Goldenrod. They don’t know any attack moves, and you can sit there and use whole bunch of the specials, 6 of each kind on it. Then finish off the wag and see if it evolves.

buy as many protiens as you can and have 10 or more rare candies more is better then give eevee as many as you can and lots of rare candies you might want to have enough rare candies to train it to leavle 29 dont let eevee hp get low or die it can be higher than 29

Haircuts
Items
Vitamins
Battling
Tea at Gary's Sister's
Walking around with it(Very little tameness earned :\ )
Leveling Up

Here's what NOT to do:

Let it faint
Give it bitter medicine
trade it
