So far our plan is to create a 3D pokemon Game With the nice maps Mike has made but still have the 2d Sprites of the GB/GBA games. We will be doing this with 3D game studio. The game play will be like the gba games and 3d game studio supports multiplayer modes so there whould be trading. We will explain more about the game as our project develops...

3d Gamestudio cost money yes.

If your a scripter and want to help 3D Gamestudio uses C-Script I.Ei "IT has its own language" C-Script Is Vary Vary Easy to learn.

I will have a screen shot up tonight right now im makeing some textures for a test town. Right now the game we want to make has no title no story no nothing really so anyone who wants to join our team and has a good general knowlage of 3d games, storys, pokemon games, music, and such is able to join our small team.

LOL, Slammed!

Anyway- you should work on the building textures because they are a little blurry (and it's very noticable next to the pokemon sprites). Good luck with this.

Can you make the pokemon sprites 3D? It would better. 2D doesn't fit with 3D

slayerseitaro
November 2nd, 2005, 09:55 PM
We whould love to use 3D models for every pokemon ever a number im not even sure of... Just 150 whould be hard enuff. If anyone can rip them from pokemon stadium or colosium we whould do it.

but for now were gonna use 2D sprites cus its what we have...

I hevent talked it over with Mike yet but if I cant get my hands on the 3D models from pokemon stadium then only the world will be 3D. I just downloaded pokemon stadium but theres no real progs that rip 3D models from N64 roms so i think thats a no go...

Anyways just a update.

just a warning for everyone, that new bark town and my map that i was building of route 29 (well all the work) IS GONE!! Well, i have to make maps from scratch again. My harddisk suffered an electric problem and i had to buy a new one. Sorry, but i only took 5 hours making that map, so it shouldn't be hard to do them again. Anyways. the pokemon won't be so 2d as we think! For those that ever played Doom 1 and 2 for PC noticed that players and monsters have various sprites for each 8 directions! Thats why we need spriters to do that kind of stuff! The game is possibly for D3D and OpenGL! And for those fans of 3Dfx, we will try to make a version in that too. No Linux for now!

I would model the pokemon but it is just too much :S

Anyways, I think you could find dome high res non-pokemon textures to make the maps :x

As for the models I saw a program once that would let you view models from pokemon collosseum but I'm not sure if it let's you save them as an usable 3D format. :)

I like the idea and would like to help out here and there when I have the time away from work, school starting here in the next couple months(which so you know, I will be getting a Bachelor's in Computer Science), and making my own game(s).

A long time ago I tried working with 3D modeling, but not much sucess since I didn't have the best of programs(money). Was modeling cars, editing ones from Need for Speed Underground, GTA, and others that people made. But now that I think of it Underground and GTA were also on Computer, so that might be where they got the files. Umm..... I'd say find a message board where people are talking about that stuff(editing models from game like GTA), which think I might have one in mind to check, and see if they might be able to help you with getting the 3D files from a GameCube game on the computer.

The site that I remember(if i can find again), people made a file where you open up the certain GTA file and it would bring up all the 3D models in the game to choose from and whatnot.

For those that don't know I own Zero Gaming. We are a game devloping team currently working on 2 titles. I am very intrested in teaming up with you guys to devolp this game. My team incudes scripters, spirters, rippers, mappers ect. I myself do not know the language but I will learn, I can map, script, and devlop sound files, and make game movies. ATM I have no direct acess to a computer due to hurricane wilma so PM me, or reply to tell me what you think.

I found this on ekaiyo online, it may be of some use to you guys.
This May be a bit lazy... but it saves modeling, why not extract the pokemon models from Pokemon stadium 2? and use them so it saves time than creating them? http://www.emutalk.net/nemu64/21092-will-allow-you-export-geometry-textures.html do not ban me it is only a sugestion... it may be illeagal though...
Also, here is another page that will help you: http://www.emutalk.net/general-n64-emulation-discussion/24746-how-do-i-extract-models.html?highlight=pokemon+stadium+models

i'd like to help,
i can script a little bit javascript, but that's not enough i think.
and what program to you use to create those 3d models?

[_DarkDragon_]
November 9th, 2005, 04:21 PM
slayrstare, we got models! :D

I fixed the error and found out how to export them, they are still low poligon because I'm having some problems using hypernurbs on them but hopefully it will be fixed so for now enjoy our 2 low polygon abras looking at each other XD

I managed to use hypernurbs but the bad thing about that is that I can't use the textures (for now):

Datriot your right, but for somereason what that kid said rubed me the wrong way. So I could not help but defend myself. I whould not have defended myself if it was comming from someone I see as respectable. I whould not listen to a stranger before I whould listen to a friend.

November 14th, 2005, 05:36 PM
hmm....true I see what you mean, anyway, back to the game!:P
More screens!:P

[_DarkDragon_]
November 14th, 2005, 06:26 PM
lol, I refuse to continue working on it unless we get a big team together, now with The Spherians team and all that and school I really have no time to do it all, because I not only have to rip the pokemon, I also have to texture and animate them and that takes like 2-3 hours per pokemon. I am in 12 th grade and don#t have time to use on that (unfortunatelly) so we will need a lot of people for this to go on 3D or we will just go back to the 2D animated idea.

jifman
November 14th, 2005, 06:41 PM
dark dragon, im also working on this game and can help you out with boneing and rigging the pokemon, tho animation is my trained art, im not that good at it.

if you want me to help you do them, pm me asap, cos i can work on them asap.

[_DarkDragon_]
November 14th, 2005, 06:51 PM
yes but we still have texturing, when I rip the model it comes with a big ammount of small textures that are already applied but in order to smooth the pokemon they have to disappear and it's very hard to put them on again.

Budgie_boy
November 15th, 2005, 02:35 PM
That's maybe where I can come in!:surprised :\
Do you need NEW texture files?

You see I have made textures that I have used in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind!:D :P
I have a few but what file format do you need them in?!

[_DarkDragon_]
November 15th, 2005, 03:17 PM
png would be nice, but the problem is that I dunnohow to texture, so basically I would extract the models and soften them, then I would need someone to texture them and then someone to put the bones on them and convert them to 3Ds file format whichis the one the engine uses.

Krazy_Meerkat
November 17th, 2005, 12:37 AM
Well nobody is expecting the game to have all the pokemon in it.
Perhaps you could make a macro which would repeat the softening/texture adding process while you were watching t.v. or doing hw?

[_DarkDragon_]
November 17th, 2005, 11:59 AM
I don'T even know how to do that? :S

Krazy_Meerkat
November 19th, 2005, 07:14 PM
Use a macro program. Once you record the macro, when you play it, it clicks where you did during the recording etc.
Basically an easy effective way to make a program do repeatetive tasks for you.
