The Hunk
November 18th, 2005, 12:05 AM

He doesn't need to be jealous of me XD

The Hunk
November 18th, 2005, 12:37 AM
The two of yall have loads more stuff than I, but I am perfectly content with what God has given me.

Chairman Kaga
November 18th, 2005, 02:08 AM
If I had a DS, I wouldn't play it. I would just put it up on the shelf with my Virtual Boy and Sega Dreamcast.

Sorry I can't be on tonight, Morkie. Physics <_<;

pokejungle
November 18th, 2005, 03:01 AM
DS >>>>>>> You XD

The DS is so awesome you wouldn't believe ._. You'd better apperciate it Kaga ;D

Chairman Kaga
November 18th, 2005, 04:11 AM
I'll appreciate it when it's $79.99 with a bundled game...and doesn't exist solely to combat the PSP. I like nintendo but I know when I'm being bilked <_<;

The Hunk
November 18th, 2005, 10:49 AM
My little bro is getting a DS for Christmas, I believe. He want Mario Cart too. I saw it, and think I would like it. However, I am always really busy, and I couldn't imagine playing Mario Cart on anything but Game Cube.

Chairman Kaga
November 18th, 2005, 08:21 PM
Mario Kart is awful without a joystick. I have firsthand experience, as I own the SNES version. It's incredibly difficult to control.

Morkula
November 18th, 2005, 08:26 PM
Playing Mario Kart without a joystick sounds like it'd take some getting used to. But the DS version still looks awesome. XD

Chairman Kaga
November 18th, 2005, 08:47 PM
DS doesn't have a joystick, though...the best graphics in the world don't make up for terrible controls XD

pokejungle
November 18th, 2005, 10:41 PM
The DS is not just a stunt to get money~ It PWNs the GBA to the nth degree~ --'

And I really haven't been bugged by the D-Pad at all. MK: DS is fun because there's four retro cups~ Which feature one track from each of the : SNES, N64, GBA, and GCN games =3 The graphics are really good too =O

And playing the DS is a lot simpler than playing on the 'Cube ^^ Because you don't need to sit down and play it in one spot. I love being able to take it around with me~

Trikip
November 20th, 2005, 04:51 PM
The DS is not just a stunt to get money~ It PWNs the GBA to the nth degree

I soo agree. It soo does.

Chairman Kaga
November 20th, 2005, 05:53 PM
People who say the DS even outperforms the GBA have descended into a level of fanboyism that is impossible to escape from. That's the problem with most Nintendo fans these days; they've created their own little bubble where gaming reality doesn't exist and you think something is good because Nintendo says it's good.

GBA has two-thirds of the buttons, half the screens, and a purpose. No system can be worth the time unless the company making it is confident enough to sell it without constantly reminding you that it's the best thing ever, as if you'll suddenly think for yourself without them continually whispering in your ear. DS suddenly appeared on the scene, there weren't whispers about it months and years beforehand like there are with other systems, only after the PSP was announced did Nintendo say "Hey! Hey! Look at us, we're making something TOO! Now give us a couple of months and we'll tell you what it is and how it works~"

Gameboy has survived on reputation of unbeatable gameplay and amazing simplicity longer than most people at PC have been alive. It arose out of necessity in the game market for something that surpassed Game & Watch and other early one-game handhelds and has survived the transition from original to pocket to color to advance to SP, only increasing in quality each time. It was the thing that other companies targeted and failed to bring down, not the other way around like Nintendo is doing now. It didn't exist to spite a successful competetor, and each change was made with the player in the mind, not the pride of the company. I don't want to own something that is only making me a tool in a duel of honor.

Portability =/= superiority over consoles. You also can't play Gamecube games on your DS. It works both ways. Games are made for a certain system because they're considered most suitable for that system. You have to sit down to play a DS, it's not like you'll be running and jumping with the characters o_O (unlike the Revolution...*coughfullbodydscough* -_-) GBA is portable too. So are a lot of other systems. But if you don't like consoles for being consoles anymore, so be it *shrug*

I have no desire to get any new game consels any time soon. I happy with my SP, and after Christmas my bro will have DS. He gets tired of things like that quickly so by Februrary the DS will basically be mine to play. So I will buy Pearl/Diamond and have my little bro's DS. I know this is true because happened with his (now mine) SP.

Chairman Kaga
November 24th, 2005, 03:39 AM
I hate that I'm probably going to end up getting a DS for Diamond and Pearl =/

I tried the analog nub the other day............most depressing feature ever ;_;

I want a DS for Christmas. Probably won't happen though... ._.;

The Hunk
November 24th, 2005, 03:44 AM
My parents offered to get me a DS for Christmas, but I turned them down. I'd like a new computer, and if I can't get that I will be getting stuff I really need?

Chairman Kaga
November 24th, 2005, 03:58 AM
I'd rather them give me $130 toward a laptop, because this year, I'm stressing necessity at Christmas over things I want.

The Hunk
November 24th, 2005, 04:09 AM
I am going to get what I get. Though if I couldn't get a computer the first thing I really wanted was a PS II game. So poo, necesity.

Thomas-san
November 24th, 2005, 05:47 AM
I want a DS for Christmas. Probably won't happen though... ._.;Don't ask for a DS, ask for a PSP. They are soooo much better.

The Hunk
November 24th, 2005, 12:56 PM
My dad has actually been talking like he is going to win a PSP from his work. That would be cool.

However, I have no desire for a PSP. They just aren't something I am interested in.

Yeah. PSP may have better features, but DS has better games. =D

The Hunk
November 24th, 2005, 02:28 PM
Yup, DS does have better games. I have been comparing them on Amazon, but PSP looks cool.

Chairman Kaga
November 24th, 2005, 03:33 PM
I dislike them equally, so I'm going to save more money than all of you >D

The Hunk
November 24th, 2005, 03:53 PM
I've already said I am buying neither. My dad will to win them or they will have to buy them for my bro. I need a computer this Christmas, not some game consel.

Chairman Kaga
November 24th, 2005, 05:13 PM
I also need a computer, but I didn't ask for one because I need a laptop and any one of my family members would have to draw from their bank accounts to afford one at the moment, and I refuse to let that happen.

Trikip
November 24th, 2005, 05:18 PM
Well I already have a DS so...
