This is really odd.

I've got a golbat that i'm trying to evolve into a crobat, and every time it levels up, it will start evolving, then stop and give me the

...? thing. I never hit B multiple times, it's not holding an everstone, in fact, it's not holding anything, I hit no buttons at all when it starts, I don't know what's going on, can someone help me out?

Thats weird, I've never come across something like that before. Do any other pokemon evolve on your cartridge?

It can only complete its evolution if you have the National Dex, which is given to you by Prof. Oak after you capture 60+ Pokemon.

Once you have 60+ Pokemon registered in your PokeDex, talk to Oak in his lab.

Wow, Simon is smart. I never would have thought of that, but there is your answer. It will only evolve with the National Dex, and I think you will definately be able to work towards getting a National Dex. Crobat rocks, I love it.
