At the Associated Professional Sleep Societies Conference, the results of a study were presented. They showed that getting a whiff of lavender before bedtime significantly increased slow-wave sleep. That’s the deepest, most restorative stage of sleep.
And the most dramatic findings about scent came from the Smell & Taste Research Center in Chicago.
Neurologist Dr. Alan Hirsch developed tasteless sprinkles that enhance the smell of the food. We’ve talked about this before, but experts think this is going to impact the weight loss industry as much as the Atkins Diet. With each spoonful of food, the enhanced scent traveled from the back of the mouth to the nose and people ate less. The test subjects did not change their diet – they did not exercise more – but they lost on average 35 pounds a piece.
Now let me leave you with a couple other facts about smell:
• Everybody has a unique smell, except identical twins.
• A 1 week old baby can recognize his mother by her scent.
• And green apple and cucumber scents make a room seem bigger. The smell of roasted meat makes a room seem smaller.

well, my teacher is really nice, he didn't want anyone to get stung. and guess what! he didn't even TRY to teach the class, he just told us to walk on anything i wanted, and i had study Skills Right before that and i had lunch straight after that, heh 3 "FREE" periods in a row, how do you like that. it was pretty sweet. i guess they don't even consider that someone may be allgeric to bees, the other day a wasp came into the classroom!
