Nope. You can teach it the TM though.

On Emerald do you know if there is someone like Daisy in FR/LG or the Haircut Bros. from G/S/C? Someone who can easily make pokemon happy.

GymLeaderLance99
November 25th, 2005, 06:58 PM
In Emerald, I don't think there is. I just use the vitamins, battling wild pokemon, and using the Soothe Bell item. And it wouldn't make sense to trade to FR/LG because when traded, a Pokemon's happiness drops to 0.

On Emerald you can use Pokeblocks though, which are pretty effective.

i've just had my game erased and i forgot how i got passed team magma in slateport what do i do?

Location: Slateport City
This is yet another big city. There are stalls to your left that sell
all kinds of stuff. There is a big red building at the top. That is a
Contest House, where pokemon contests are held. Pokemon Contests test
the contest status of your pokemon. The contest status conditions are:
Beauty, Cool, Cute, Tough, Smart. You can raise these conditions with
Pokeblocks. To get Pokeblocks, you need to get the Pokeblock Case from
the little girl on the inside left of the house. Now you need to go to
a berry blender. Aw, forget it! You can't compete in a contest right
now, so don't worry about it. There is a Name Rater here that allows
you to give nicknames to your pokemon. There is also a Pokemon Fan
Club. Let's get on to business now. Heal if necessary. Now go to the
big building on the southeast side. You will notice a line of Team
Magma/Aqua members on your way there. When you enter the building, go
up and talk to the guy. He is Dock. He will say that Captain Stern went
off to the museum. Now go to where you saw the line. It is gone now. Go
in. You need to pay 50 pokedollars to get in. Pay the cash. Talk to the
first team member you come across to get TM46- Thief. Thief is a fairly
weak dark attack that can steal an item a foe is holding. Go upstairs.
Talk to the guy there. He is Captain Stern. You will talk a little,
then two Magma/Aqua members will come up. You will need to fight two
battles in a row. New pokemon will be introduced. The new pokemon are
the main pokemon of Team Magma/Aqua. Team Magma's main pokemon is
Numel/Camerupt while Team Aqua's main pokemon is Carvanha/Sharpedo.
After you beat both of them, you will talk a little, then the brains
behind the whole operation will come up. That's right, it is the leader
of the team. In Ruby, it is Maxie. In Sapphire, it is Archie. You will
talk a little. They will warn you not to disrupt them again, then they
will leave. Captain Stern will thank you, talk a little more, such and
such, and then leave. Now you leave.
dont thank me it was taken from gamefaqs ^^;

It will effect pokemon eggs if one of the parents are holding a everstone.It won't effect PKMN found in the wild.

~Amethyst_Callista_Moon~

Head for the Ancient Tome on Route 120. Read the inscription, then go to the middle of the room and use Flash. The door will open and you can battle Registeel.

how do i open registeel's cavern? ====================================================
7. How To Open The Doors To The Three Regi Locations
====================================================

OK, when you have the above you can start. First off make your way to
Pacifidlog Town (if your not already there) and surf to the west. You'll
encounter lots of water with a strong current here which will carry you in
one direction and you won't be able to move, so where you choose to surf is
important. Go to the bottom of the screen and find the part of water which
looks like this:

~~~~~~~~~~~ |__ ~~~~~~ = Strong Current
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |__
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ____| |___ = Border between Water and Strong Current
~~~~~~~~~~ __| (Water is on the right, Strong Current
~~~~~ ____| is on the left)
~~~~ |x_
~~~~~~~ |__ _._ (0) = Small Rock
~~~~~~_____| | |
____| (0) |___| x = Where you start Surfing
(0)

Sorry if you can't understand the pictures! If you need a better understanding
of the pictures, email me at iloveraigan@hotmail.com.

When the current stops taking you, you will land on a little island where a
karate guy will be. Walk straight up from here, then left to the top right
corner of the little island. You should be standing in shallow water, and it
should look like this:

_____________
~~~~~~~~~ __|x _______
~~~~~~~ __| | _._ | _._
~~~~~ __| | | | |__ | |
~~~ __| __| |___| __ |___| = Big Rock
~~ | .-. | |

From the "x", surf left. When you stop, walk down a little, then walk to the
left as far as you can go. Once again, you should be standing in shallow
water and it should resemble this:

______________
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
~~ __________________________|
~~~ |x __________________________
~~~~ | | |
~~~~~ | | -Surfable Water- |
~~~~~~ | | |

From the "x", surf to the left. You will know you are on the right track if
you are taken around an area that is surrounded by rocks. Still surfing, surf
up to the two girls then continue left till you start to walk. Walk around all
the rocks until you get to the bottom left corner of this island which should
look like:

~ | (0) |___|
~ |
~ |____ _._
~~~~~~ | | | (0) ___
~~~~~~ |__ |___| ____| ~~~
~~~~~~~~~ |__ __| ~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~ |x___________| ~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Surfable Water- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From here surf left. When you land walk straight across and surf again until
you come across a dark blue patch of water (don't suff too quickly or you
might miss it!) which you can use dive on. It should look like this:
_._ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _._
| | ~~~~__________~~~~ | |
|___| __| ______ |__ |___|
~~~~~ | __| ____ |__ | ~~~~~
~~~~~ | | | x | | | ~~~~~ x = Where you Dive.
~~~~~ | |__ |____| __| | ~~~~~
~~~~~ |__ |______| __| ~~~~~
_._ ~~~ |__________| ~~~ _._
| | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | |
|___| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |___|
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here's this picture explained from the middle: The middle is where you Dive,
the two outer areas around the Dive area is just Surfable water.

Once underwater, enter the cave. Go down until you get to a part where there
is a rock in the middle of the water with dots on it. This is Braille. The
inscription here says "Go up here." Now dive back up to the surface.

You should come across a whole heap of rocks with Braille inscriptions. The
long rocks have letters of the alphabet on them, while the two smaller rocks
have a comma (,) and a period (.) on them. Walk up the back and read what the
inscription says: "Dig here." Use dig, then enter the newly made entrance.

There are seven rocks in this room (or four rows). We will call the closest
rocks to when you walk in Row One, and so on.

This is what each rock says:

Row One, Left Rock - "Those With Courage, Those With Hope."
Row One, Right Rock - "Open A Door. An Eternal Pokemon Awaits."
Row Two, Left Rock - "But, We Sealed The Pokemon Away."
Row Two, Right Rock - "We Feared It."
Row Three, Left Rock - "In This Cave We Have Lived."
Row Three, Right Rock - "We Owe All To The Pokemon."

You will now come across a rock at the back of the cave which is in the
middle. If you read the inscription here it says:
"First Comes Relicanth. Last Comes Wailord." If you haven't already done so,
swap your pokémon so Relicanth is in position one and Wailord is in position
six of your party. Now press on the inscription. If done correctly you should
hear what sounds like an earthquake. Then you should hear the sound of three
doors opening, each one to a different Regi Pokémon!

Note: For the guide, I have written how to catch the pokemon in a different
order to their corresponding pokemon number, if you were wondering why they
are listed in a different order from the pokemon information to the guide.
I.e. Regirock is 193, Regice is 194 and Registeel is 195. In the guide I have
chosen to write them in the order as Regice, Registeel and Regirock.

That's Walda. Wanda is the girl in the Rusturf Tunnel. Walda makes the unique appearance in Emerald and I've heard of a website that gives you the codes to tell her.

Why can't smeargle keep the attack of the pokemon after using sketch after a link battle, but in normal battle's smeargle could keep the attack after using sketch on the foe.

For the same reason Pokemon don't gain EXP from a link battle. It's almost like a "practice" battle, in that it doesn't affect your Pokemon at all. Pokemon don't get experience, held items return to normal afterwards, etc.

Luxer06

For this question I need somebody who has much experience in battling the Battle Frontier brains, especailly the Battle Arena. What move should I keep for Latios Lv50, Luster Purge or Pyschic? Luster Purge is weaker then Pyschic and has a 50% chance of lowering Special Defense. Pyschic is stronger but only has a 10% chance of lowering Special Defense. The other moves for Latios are Dragon Claw, Protect, and I am going to teach it the TM Ice Beam so I have to delete Pyschic or Luster Purge.

Shining Lericon
December 18th, 2005, 02:16 AM
I would go with Psychic, because it has more base power and PP than Luster Purge. You'll do more damage on the first shot with Psychic that Luster Purge, and that's what matters.

DarkThunder
December 18th, 2005, 02:51 AM
I'd go with Psychic too for having more PP and Luster Purge isn't that stronger.

And thats only if the MALE has Fissure, the FEMALE is the pokemon you want t hatch and the two pokemon are interbreedable. Fissure sucks though

What, if any, is the Action Replays 'Wild Pokemon Modifier' code?
Note: I only need the code, and indication which two places are the modifier points. I know hexidecimal, so no one has to put the pokemon's names and hex values, I'll be able to figure that one on my own.
Also, I heard you can put Gameshark codes into the action replay, and they'd work too. Is this true?

What would be the easiest way to get high beauty for a Feebas?

To get beauty, you have to feed your Feebas blue pokeblocks. An example of how to get them is blend a Wiki berry with the man in Verdanturf contest hall. You will have to feed it a few, and max it's beauty out.

What are IVs and how do I find them?

This should give you all the info you need to know: http://www.psypokes.com/lab/dvguide.php
To find your IVs/DVs: http://www.psypokes.com/dex/dv.php . This will only work if your Pokemon does not have EVs yet.

Vitamins (Carbos, etc) have to do with EVs, not IVs.

You can only use Vitamins on a Pokemon until its EVs are at 100 in that particular stat. Then the Vitamin will "have no effect." So if you don't battle with your Pokemon at all, you could give them 10 of any one Vitamin before you can't give any more.

Info on EVs: http://www.psypokes.com/lab/evguide.php

Just for reference, there are also new berries in Emerald that increase happiness and decrease the EVs by 10, just in case you mess up. I don't have a link to a list right now, so I guess I'll get back to you later on that.

Catching Feebas and Milotic

What You Will Need

1) old/good/super rod [old is preferred as Feebas can be caught with it, but u don't have to waste time with other pokemon besides magicarp and a few tentacool. It can be obtained by a fisher in Dewford town. He stands near to the gym]
2) Lots of pokeballs as you will want to catch a few feebas [higher grades are not nessary for such a weak pokemon].
3) a pokemon that knows surf [HM slave ^_^]
4) a pokemon that knows fly [not a must but after sitting in that water for so long i would think u would want to get out of there as quickly as possible]

Feebas is a rare little fish pokemon. How rare you ask??
Well let me see. It is obtainable in 6 tiles [sections of surfing water] out of approximately 400 tiles of surfing water on route 119.
Now thats something isn't it??
The feebas tiles are random and if you change the "Popular Phrase" in Dewford town the tile positions are RANDOMLY RESET[ie you can't take someone else's 'popular phrase' and try fishing where they got their feebas. It won't work.]

Now that you have what u need head up to the base of route 119. Do this by flying/walking to mauville and then surfing across the narrow stripe of water right of the gym.
Now you will be on route 119. This is a very long route [unfortunately] packed with sections of water [potential feebas grounds] along its length. I recommend you start form the first pond you come across. Start form one corner and work your way up. Fishing in each tile you move into.I recommend fishing 3 - 5 times in one tile as any less may allow our fishy friend to slip through and any more would be overkill.
Now all this sucks i must admit, but when u do find the feebas tile you will be pleasently surprised to find that they will appear with a 60-80% probability. Which is, in my opinion, fairly sweet.

This whole EV thing has me quite confused.

trjessie579

Hidden Power is based on IVs, NOT EVs. IVs are like your Pokemon's genes and never change, so a Pokemon will always have the same Hidden Power no matter when you teach it to them.

While you're at it, do

Options->Emulator->Save Type->Flash 128K

That'll make it so that you can continue to play after defeating the E4.

If it's for the real cart, you'll need to get the battery replaced by some game shop such as GameSpot or send it over to Nintendo. Whichever way you decide to replace the battery, your file will be erased though.

I know for Red/Green version, you get Deoyxs on Birth Island, but what about on Ruby/Shapphire? (The game won't let you trade Deoyx from R/G to Ruby or Sapphire :( )
Also, how are you supposed to get Mew and Celebi without cheating? (I've already got them using the Action Replay, but I'm just curious. :) )

Also, how are you supposed to get Mew and Celebi without cheating? (I've already got them using the Action Replay, but I'm just curious. :) )First, you'll have to do the little favor for Celio on One Island involving the Sapphire and Ruby gem on your FRLG game. Read the FRLG FAQ (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=16185) for information on this. Once you've done that, get yourself a Deoxys either through cheating or through a NoA event. If you decide to obtain it through cheating, I suggest using the Pokemon Maker (should be a link to it at the bottom of the FRLG FAQ) since using any other type of cheat usually results in an untradeable Deoxys.

Same applies to the other Pokemon that are supposed to be given to you from Nintendo.

No.You have to breed a Male/Female Pikachu/Raichu with a Male/Female Pikachu/Raichu.Just don't breed Male with Male or Female with Female.If you have Emerald you could breed a Male/Female Pikachu/Raichu holding a Light Ball with a Male/Female Pikachu/Raichu to get a Pichu that knows Volt Tackle.Just thought I could throw that in.

In FR/LG Lv.3-4 Pikachus can be found in Viridian Forest.(Not Safari Zone)
In Emerald Lv.27-30 can be found in the Southeast and Southwest areas in the Safari Zones.Also in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald you have a rare chance of finding a Pikachu holding a Light Ball.

Yes, just found out that, from some kind of weird spanish FAQ, odd...I don't understand any spanish at all :P

There isn't any hold item that raises accuracy, just a couple that shrink your opponent's, and the classic X-accuracy, which doesn't interest you probably.

P.S.:Catching Bagon reminded me of something. First couple of Bagons I caught were level 35, and since Bagon evolves at 30, they weren't of any use to me, so I had a little problem. Then I thought of breeding them. I wanted to ask any of you, could that work? I never used breeding before, so I have no ideea how it works, I just know how to do it. The same problem I had when the second area of the Safari zone in Emerald popped up, I caught Houndour, but its level was to big, so might it work? Also, I use VBA for Emerald, so I don't know if breeding works, since it has no time. Could anyone help? I don't need to learn breeding, I have a ton of FAQs for that, I just want to know the answer to those questions.

If you are going to EV train it, you better give it some Rare Candies (or other means of giving it levels but no EV's), and when it's at a high enough level, EV train it.

how do u open the door for registeel and regirock
Regice

Fly to Dewford town and then go north and stay to the left. Keep going until you see a big island. Land on the island to the left, go past the island and go up until you see another island (It’s the island in the middle of 6 rocks). Regice is inside, Enter and press “A” on the wall.
”Stop and wait. Wait for time to pass twice” is what it says.
What it means is wait 2 minutes and the door will open.
Now you may enter and catch Regice.

Regirock

You will need a Pokémon with Strength.
Item you need: Go-Goggles (you get them after you beat the 4th gym)
First you fly to Mauville city then, go north to Route 111 and Desert Ruins (you need a Pokémon with Rock Smash to get there). Keep going until you see the desert. Then go right and down until you see the Ruins. Go in and heard towards the wall. The wall says:
”Right, right, down, down, then use Strength.”
What it means is from the wall press right right down down and have your Pokémon use Strength.

Registeel

You will need a Pokémon with Fly.

First Fly to Lilycove city then go west (left) until you go past route 121 and keep going until you get to route 120. Continue until you see stairs. Go up the stairs and keep proceeding up them until you see a cave. This is the Ancient tomb. Go in and press a next to the wall with the text, this is what the wall says:

“With new time, hope and love, aim to the sky in the middle.”
It means to go to the middle of the room and use Fly.

This (http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=185) is where I got the info.

Charizard learns Flamethrower by level and TM, and Overheat by TM.You don't need to breed for those moves.

Two possible reasons:

a. The Berry you've planted takes a long time to grow. (i.e. Lum Berry, or a very rare one.)

b. You've been playing the game for over a year now so all the Time Events stop working.

Where can you find a water stone? Is there a Mart where you can purchase it?. also what is the best way to catch a wailord/wiscash?

To get a water stone you have to have learnt Dive already. Near Mosdeep City there are places where you can dive. To get a water stone you must find something called a Blue Shard to trade with a collector on Route 124. This house is on the left of Mosdeep City.

Also you can find a water stone somewhere in the Wrecked Ship.

About the Wailord thing, on Route 129, if you fish you can find a Wailord but they are rare. Or you can catch a Wailmer and evolve it at Lv 40. I don't think there is a easier way to catch a Wailord.

Wiscash can be found in Meteor Falls and Victory Road. They are also rare and hard to find. Or you can catch a Barboach and evolve it at Lv 30.

I hope this answers your questions!

Houndoom1
January 21st, 2006, 03:06 PM
For the Water stone its blue shard as Mighty_Mightyena99 pointed out.

To get fire stone its red shard, electric stone it yelow shard, and you so on. When you are diveing use the itemfinder because some shards are hidden.

Does anyone know if you can get Jirachi by catching all Hoenn Pokemon, except Jirachi and Deoxys (of coarse), in Ruby/Sapphire? I think Gamespot said it was true, but I'm not sure.

I hope so. And before you answer, know that it says you have to catch all 200 Hoenn Pokemon first. This is somewhat difficult to do, and I know there will always be someone who says "no, it's impossible, you suck for asking" and have only owned 58 pokemon EVER. So please be sure.

I'm tring to remember how to unlock all the Regi's chambers, and I Forgot what you do to unlock regirocks. Can someone help?
Things you need:
- A Pokémon who knows HM03 Surf
- A Pokémon who knows TM28 Dig
- A Pokémon who knows HM08 Dive
- Relicanth set up first in your team of Pokémon
- Wailord set up last in your team of Pokémon

1 - Go to Route 134, which is West of Pacifidlog Town. Be careful of the currents. After you reach an area by choosing the correct current patterns to follow with, go to #2.
2 - Dive into the Diving Spot that looks like a "+" sign, only much bolder. ;>>
3 - After you dive in, go South out of the cave opening and eventually you'll see an opening into a small area. There's an inscription on the square rock in the middle. It says, "Go up here." So press the B button [Or A button I forgot. D:]
4 - After you reach the surface, you'll see a bunch of more rocks and inscriptions on it. Don't bother to read it, because it plainly says: "ABC, DEF, GHI..." and so on. Walk up to the back wall, and you'll see another inscription. It reads: "Dig here." Let your Pokémon use TM28 Dig. You will appear in another chamber, the "Inner" Chamber, or the "Final" Chamber.
5 - Altogether, the six rocks and the wall reads:
Those with courage, those with hope.

But, we sealed them away.

In this cave we have lived.

First comes Relicanth. Last comes Wailord.

We owe all to the Pokémon.

We feared it.

Open a door. An eternal Pokémon waits.
Note that even though I'm telling you what the inscriptions say, make sure you read them all anyway, even if you don't understand Braille. ^^;
To get to Regirock's cave, here:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
E.Desert Ruins
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To get to the Desert Ruins, defeat Flannery to get the GoGoggles. The GoGoggles will let you cross the desert on Route 111. On the southeastern edge of the desert is the Desert Ruins, which opens up at the same time as the Island Cave. On the back wall is the message.

Translation:
RIGHT, RIGHT. DOWN, DOWN. THEN, USE STRENGTH.

Move to the right twice, then down twice, and use Strength to open a door to Registeel's chamber.

Sorry if you knew how to get in the Sealed Chamber already. ^^; It's just so I don't have to come back and type it.

All Pokemon can becaught with any ball, that doesn't make one necessarily better than the other. Heck, I caught Rayquaza with a Dive Ball ffs. Certain balls just a higher CATCH RATE than other balls depending on what they are and what pokemon you're trying to catch.
