Do U guys think Misty will return after the whole battle frontier season?

Crystal Clair

Some people say no and that the writers got rid of her for a reason but I say yes because Misty's bound to return sometime. I have a feeling she may make an indirect entry if you know what I mean.

i hope she does cause brock came back when he left so maybe may and max will go back to petalburg and misty will return maybe even tracey could possibly return but i think that's unlikely

ya...i agree coz misty went away in some episodes, when she was incharge of the cerulean gym, but then she came back

She did return at the start of the Battle Frontier, but otherwise I think she'll just be relegated to guest spots throughout the series or until they do the Special Episodes again. Otherwise, it's like CC said, she's rotated out.

Besides, you had 5 years of her, isn't that enough? I don't mind the change of pace and the change in status quo myself.

Well nope, having her again is just a pain in the neck x.x

Besides, she is better in the Hosou/Special episodes.

And? If May and Max leave that doesn't means that Misty is forced to come back >_> other girl, (like the Pokmon Ranger girl or Blue) might appear.

Eithers, having the same history with Ash is... boring, i mean, we need to make other history with other character, seeing the same guy making a lot of stuff just to lose a league, is boring -_-.

My god I love that red head, and hate may, but I want them to SCRAP ASH!, hes had a good run, but we need a new protagonist, cause to alot of people, hes become an antagonist, a new face, he should have ended at the end of indigo league, but I forget they dont make them to game, wish they would though

Dang it people, if you are in dire need to see Misty again, watch the re-runs in your respecting country's TV stations! She soonest she's coming back is either during or after the Battle Frontier, so hold your horses. Though, she may not appear again until after the Battle Frontier is though.

You know they can't take Ash/Satoshi out of the series. He's the hero. That, and the character's name comes from the creator's name, Satoshi Tajiri. Taking Ash/Satoshi out is like taking Pikachu away from Pokmon! (actually, if you take either away, the other is sure to follow...)

Realize this is a children's show. Don't expect dramatic changes such as that.

And don't hate. If you don't like a character, just don't pay any attention to them.

I love for Misty to come back and I not a big fan of May but thing seems to be fine right now.

I mean why will you need Misty to come back. Recently they just gave here that Azurill also known as Togippi's repalcement. Why did they gave here that I have no idea. I want Misty to come back but she needs a reason to come back. Not just play background with some little back ground. The only good thing about May is that she does contests. Misty....holder of the baby pokemon, Brock ear puller and yeller at Ash. RIght now most of those positions are taken. I don't think She wil be coming back soon. Unless she because Ash's love intrest which may not happen because of the shows maturity level.

Love to see Misty to return during the Battle Fourntier but if it going to be like those three episodes then no. Let her enjoy the respect she has.

Sorry, my country does no longer air Pokemon. I dunno why, but because of that I wasn't able to watch Misty for like 3 seasons. And please make a good approach, I feel offended with the post you made.

Sorry about that, hangad_bukaspalad. I didn't mean to offend anybody. It's just that others constantly whine about why Misty's gone and when's she coming back.

Man, I'm suprised that anyone would take Pokmon off the air permanently...

Well, if you really want to see Misty, you could try finding episodes online. Sorry if you have dial-up, but if that's the case, it could be the only choice you got. Hey, if you have dial-up, and your friends have broadband, either tell them to download the episodes or kick them off and do it yourself.

I hope misty comes back. I also hope may stays, she''s cute.

May + misty would be a good connection. I want to see how they interact with each other outside the two togepi episodes.

Actually, dqle, most people in America don't even have access to the older episodes. With Kids WB constantly looping the last season of Johto and the AG episodes and Cartoon Network relegated to one episode or so a week (also last season of Johto, shown in order as episodes are "new" to CN). It seems no one is willing to pay for the rights to the old epsiodes anymore because of an odd collective notion of their outdatedness, probably because the network CEOs have the same amnesia regarding the early seasons that most fans have.

But that's an entirely different debate.

To be blunt, no, Misty is never coming back. Marketing companies sell flash-in-the-pan items and ideas about the show to children with no memory and no attention span, no time for "ancient" history, children hate what they don't understand, especially what they don't even remember. It's all about the torch being past, whether the old and devoted fans who poured the blood, sweat, and tears of fandom into making the foundations of what exists today are tearing their robes and cursing the sky at the decision or not. It's all about demographics, all about mascots, personality and individuality are secondary if not nonexistent. An individual has no place in a show that's lost its soul, and an individual cannot return what was lost by their prolonged and unjust absence.

And I have an extensive thesis, but these threads tend to be populated by people who don't appreciate other viewpoints on the anime so I'll silence myself now.

I forgot to add in some cost factors...

Too bad CN is the only station that re-airs old episodes in the US (that I can think of) 'cause I don't like them anymore.

Now that I think about it, I haven't seen episodes on most comedic/cartoon shows that's older than 4 years very often. (unless it was a smash hit in the past and/or currently cancelled) Stations really don't like old shows, do they?

If Misty doesn't come back, I will be convinced that the writers took the idea off of the bsc becuase my favorite member left there and she never came back >:<. Even though I highly doubt that would ever happen.
Old episodes? coughbittorrentcough
And if Misty really doesn't come back, I may do just the same, start my own series on Pokemon taking their adventures to another level but keeping track of the anime to see if I'm about to miss out on anything
I say, keep in your faith about Misty coming back, you fans and believers! If she doesn't she's a stinking traitor!

I just wish CN would bring back the first season of pokmon if no other seasons; it almost seems like stations are forced into an all-or-nothing deal as far as episode purchasing is concerned. Because of their partnership with Kids WB I think that CN gets episodes that WB still has exclusive rights to for cheaper, and that's why they even bother to run their weekly installment now (they're inching up on the final episodes of Johto as far as I know.) Unfortunately anything classic they try to air every day tends to fail, I suppose I can blame this on the attention span of youngsters as well, as they tend to enjoy stories that have no connection from episode to episode instead of being forced to keep with an ongoing saga. DBZ, Pokmon, Yu-Gi-Oh (not counting G-*twitch*-X) all have died quickly in evening slots after being brought back, and tend to be replaced with things like Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Code Lyoko, Courage the Cowardly Dog, etc; things that appeal to children whose attention can only be gripped by constant action/cheap slapstick/etc; basically anything that clashes with a storytelling anime.

You're right about many networks forgoing their more classic programming for shows that saw more instant popularity than those that had small but devoted fanbases. Note such quality older shows such as Doug, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, and The Angry Beavers on Nickelodeon being swept into the dark corners of Nicktoons TV, the complete purge of Invader Zim from any of Nick's lesser siblings, with nothing left but the complete and utter pimping of Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents on the main channel, basically only things that work well with marketing. It all goes back to money; as childrens' programming channels have a perfect system to work with. Kids will watch anything, yet kids still have preferences, and kids are loaded with money and easily manipulated by commercialism. Basically, it yields maximum profit with minimal outcry to keep the children interested in their favorites while getting rid of anything else.

Eh? If you're refering to me, I'd be willing to listen. (I don't like flaming. Flaming is bad) Seeing others' viewpoints helps me understand the situation better, and may even strengthen my own.

No, no, I wasn't directing this at you, I know you have the full scope as a veteran and can see both sides of the argument.

Indeed this isn't the place to do it. No offense to anyone else in this thread, but the Misty vs. May debates tend to be hornets' nests of n00bs and are loaded with irrationality and poorly-constructed ideas.

...If Misty was going to come back, then she should have already...at least as far as the plot goes...I mean, the only reason that she left in the first place (at least in America) was because her sisters were forcing her to run the Gym, but then a few episodes ago there was a character who had a flashback that implied her sisters were already back...so, as much as I HATE to admit it, she might not be coming back as a permanent character...

Well, I posted this in Kaga's club, so I'll be repeating what I said here.

I think that after the Battle Frontier is over, they should change the main cast a little for the Diamond and Pearl region. It would be boring if they kept the same darn Hoenn cast again for the whole D/P region. Heck, the next region might be three seasons like both Johto and Hoenn. I mean, they did change the team around before they went to Johto and Hoenn, and they did keep the same group more or less when they went though the Orange Islands, as well as for the Battle Frontier. So, I would think they'd change it for the D/S region.

I wish there was a poll on this thread.

I really hope to see Misty back, but I don't think that'll be true. Probably in a special episode or two, but I seriously want Misty back, and I think that she might end up in the next season. =D
To hell with May... *gets brick'd by May fans*

Why do you guys want Misty back. I know she is great and much better then May but still. For What?

What will she do? What will be her purpose? She just going to play background and that it. She be just a baby pokemon holder that it. Just like she was before she left after the Silver Cup. I mean she a great person but I don't want to see her looked bad becasue they can't come up with something for her to do.

Do I think Misty should return? No Misty shouldn't return. The answer to this question doesn't have a should, could, or maybe come back in it. The answer is she must come back. They took her out for too long. I know they had a couple of episodes with her in them and the Chronicles, but it's not the same. We need our daily does of the firery redhead. Plus someone has to watch out for Ash and steer him in the right direction. It's really about time they finally got together. So yes I do think she is coming back for the next season.

Actually I don't mind May or Max either. If I had to pick one to leave I'd say Max. This way he cna go and train and give Ash a goo Pokemon Battle whe nhe finally gets a Pokemon. I wouldn't mind seeing it Ash, Misty, and May. Two girls and one guy or leave Brock to even it off. Plus let Ash and Misty be together finally. I know I know it's a kids show, but htye don't have to kiss they're relationship cna still be acknowledged.

I do agree. I can't stand her bubbly airhead personality, but I would like to see Misty get jealous becuase she thinks May likes Ash when she doesn't. I jsut wnat ot see them fight over him and then have Misty admit her feelings tp Ash and Ash admit his to Misty. Then May can leave.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I also find Max very whiney and he has no right to grab brock's ear (nor does May).

That is a Misty tradition, and I can't understand why they would get rid of her when she was the most popular character along with Ash.

Yeah, really. Actually I've never seen too many people who disliked Misty.... and a LOT of people dislike May. Well, I usually watch clips from the next episode in Japan and I know that Misty isn't back yet. However they are still on the Battle Frontier, so there really isn't any way that she could be back anyways because it still is AG ;P

Nintendo doesn't know that shipping exists, and they couldn't care less.

The people who ship are out of the target age demographic anyway, so even if they did know, it's still no skin off their noses if they pit a few people who they consider too old to even be linking this sort of thing against each other. So everyone loses either way.

*thinks shipping is a waste of time, but oh well*

Thanks for the good comment Max :) the lineup just came out of my head and i have listed it that way for many reasons

Reasons For Lineup
1. Whenever Ash is busy with something Misty is Pikachu's backup trainer
2. By having Tracey in the traveling party we'll probably hear less arguments between Ash & Misty as they'll never get lost
3. It would be even funnier to see Misty KO Brock and Tracey at the same time if they misbehave
4. May will have an older sister role model to look up to
5. Ash & Misty can spend quality time together :D

The only time i seen Misty KO Ash & Brock at the same time was in the kids day episode during season one part 2 so it would be good to see her do it again but this time to Brock & Tracey

Supreme Edgeboy Max

Err... seeing Misty again? >.>

Like i wrote in my other post, is a bad idea.

In first place, i don't know why Tajiri planned to have Misty in the Anime as a Main character if she is a Gym Leader! (same goes to Brock)

After all, i think that Misty must not come back because she is staying as Gym Leader, so blah.

And other thing: If Misty really comes back, then we will see the same booring thing about her: A crush on over a boy that she travels just for a short time and then... yah.

So blah, Pokmon Advanced Generation is ok without Misty.

The show's plot has only basic correlation with the game's plot; beyond the setting and the method of obtaining badges, almost all of it is creative license. Satoshi Tajiri (if he even had that much control over the anime) must have done something right; the show's lasted nearly a decade, with its current success stemming from the devotion to the characters that fans held in the early days. No show lasts unless its cast is appealing.

And other thing: If Misty really comes back, then we will see the same booring thing about her: A crush on over a boy that she travels just for a short time and then... yah.

AAML is a concept, not a reality; all the rumors and in-show nuance in the world don't make it solid fact, or even hint to the possibility of that as being a future plotline.

misty-slave09
December 15th, 2005, 12:53 PM
I Think this would be a good line-up:

1. Ash- Of course he's the main character
2. Misty- She needs to come back she been gone 4 too long and she probably is gonna wanna catch new water pokemon
3. Tracey- Pro.Oak will probably send Tracey to go and sketch the new pokemon from the new region
4. Max- He will stay to learn more about pokemon and he'll probably look up to Tracey as a role model

As for Brock & May:

May- She'll stay in Hoenn and continue to become a coordinater and she'll make a couple of cameos
Brock- He'll go back to Pewter City and run the gym again

Tajiri had jack to do with the anime. Pokemon is his idea and he made basic outlines for the games, but aside from that...he just takes in the money. We'll never see her back though, it didn't happen after her first year gone, it's not going to happen after the fourth year.

Exactlly. The main reason why Brock came back was due to the fact that there was a major uproar because of his absents and that the saga that he was gone for was only a filler saga.

Misty missed out on a real saga. I like Misty but still I like her to have some honor and not being bash my May fans saying she does nothing. Why would you want her back? I mean let her be with peace with the honor she has left.

Well, Destiny Deoxys (a non Misty movie) gave Kids WB the highest ratings since 03. So yeah, and it's rather premature to speculate since we're not even at the Battle Frontier saga yet and even so, we have speculated the heck out of this.

I'm ready to lock this. We covered everything possible. Even beyond everything. Thank you for playing.
