[Introduction]

As she knelt before the altar, Kitten prayed to her Goddess, to her Angels, for anything to show her the way. Her heart beating heavily, she could feel the presence of another spirit, of the evil that had corrupted the coven in which she had been praying in.

Silent whispers could be heard in the air, though there was no one else inside. At every word that had been spoken, the whispers became more rapid, louder, deeper in voice. Chills began to run down her spine as she feared more and more the safety of the village and of her life. Though she was scared to open her eyes again, Kitten slowly raised her eyelids just to see the red velvet blood stained walls of the church.

Bodies had been sprawled about, lifeless, due to the trauma that had been caused during a worship service of the chapel. It must have been the praying, the chanting and wanting of a God to protect them, to help the mortal human beings with their own lives, the selfishness that had awoken the demons and ending up in a devastating battle of bloodlust. She began to panic, but holding her breath for a moment, trying to block out the hissing of the demons that hid in the shadows from the candlelight of the altar. As the sounds began to drown out from her own thoughts, a womanly voice also began to slip into her mind.

~Draw up your weapon, young and loyal warrior, for your life is in danger. ~ Knowing at that moment that the Mother had spoken to her. The girl of 15 raised her morning star, preparing for a battle of a small but fierce unholy war. Then, as the glimmering head of the weapon could be apparent to anything alive in the room, the candles blew out.

It was terrifying and magnificent at once as a stream of red light reflected from what seemed like the depths of Hell against the pools of blood. A black fog arose from the puddles, beginning to shroud around her. Kitten raised the blessed morning star into the air; a scream escaping from her throat, as she started swiping at everything…it all went black.

(( oh, and, everything is in short form, right now. so, please dont make fun of my story. my friends seem to like it enough... ))

Kitten awoke with a start, trembling in fear of what had happened the night of the demonic battle. Her vision was blurry, trying to focus on her surroundings; death had taken her away from the mortal world. Everything around her was twisting and churning in the darkness, bright beams of red light flittered in from the nothingness.

Wondering what exactly was going on, she stood shakily and walked to the edge of the slate platform on which she stood. Peering down, she noticed some movement, then seven serpent heads coming upwards. Four out of the seven where wearing crowns, but that didn’t concern her at that moment, because she then knew that she was, in fact, in Hell.

Using all of the strength that she could muster at the moment, she opened her mouth to speak. At first, the words would only come out in small squeaks, but then, at last, the words were able to be spoken. “What am I doing here? Why am I in Hell? I thought that I was loyal to the Goddess. I am a High Priestess in training; I should have won, or, at least, gone to Heaven!” Kitten had shouted, scared and confused.

A terrible hiss could be heard from the mouths of the serpent, and one of them spoke to her, “Ha! You have managed to amuse me with your ignorance. I congratulate you for this. But, since you put me into a good mood, I will answer your questions.” She began to speak, but the serpent had stopped her before her first syllable, “Silence! When I am talking, you shall listen! Now, as I was saying, I will now answer your questions. You had been in a village that had been targeted by my rebellious minions, and you tried to stop them. But, your problem was, you had been too caught up in sins of your own. So, after the…” all but the head that had been speaking had turned away, making silent hissing sounds at the next word, “…Goddess had told you to draw upon your weapon, you fought in the darkness, hoping to win. Your faith did not guide you well enough in my dark, and you had lost. To make matters worse, you didn’t even go to this Heaven. So, now you’re here, in my Kingdom of Fire!”

At that time, Kitten had started to tremble again. Her white cloak had been torn, and she began to hide herself beneath it. She spoke again with a shaking voice, “What am I supposed to do while I am here, vile creature?”

Another head of this serpent quickly took the place of the other, “For one, you must respect me, because I am your only way out, child! And for being here, I’m thinking about giving you a second chance, because you are the only one who can defeat the rebellious demons that I have let loose. Which, this is the only reason why you aren’t in the Lake of Fire. If you were, then I would most likely be unable to get your attention, for the fact that all you would be hearing were your own screams of pain and agony, and all you would see is your own blood. So, I am making a deal with you. If you swear on your diseased future that you will slay all of my demons, or at least cause them to return to my order, then I will repair your fate. Do we have a deal, young Priestess?”

The girl stood there, looking down at her feet as she thought of what to do. At last, she reached a hand forward as if to shake his, the serpent’s, own, “You have a deal…” The heads had then burst forth with a terrible and low laughter, and a hand of flames came into contact with her own, causing her to scream in pain as it shook and burned her.

The next thing she knew, she was laying on a cold stone floor, blood stains everywhere around lifeless bodies, and she knew then that she was back inside of the chapel.

Kitten sat up and crawled out of her position, standing and brushing herself off. The bodies had begun to smell and the demons were nowhere to be found. Walking over to the altar where she had been praying at before, she looked down at her feet. The morning star that she had been using was shattered, and she had not a weapon anymore. But, looking upon the altar, she saw her Book, and picked it up to hold to her chest.

She knew then that she was alone, and that possibly the fate of the world rested in her hands. But, she noticed that something was different about her. She was stronger, she could see more clearly, hear even better, and her clothing was restored to the state that they had been in when she first had them made.

Kneeling before the altar, she prayed to the Goddess to forgive her, and spoke of what had happened. She would write down everything that happens to her during her mission and journey, that way, in case she dies without completing it, someone else may find it and understand why their world was to be destroyed…because she couldn’t protect it and keep the rest of the planet safe from harm.

After her praying, she walked to the large double-doors that led outside. Kitten wasn’t sure if it was day or night, fearing that she will find herself in more trouble than she needed, or that the demons were outside at that very moment. She couldn’t hear anything except for a single crow outside, which was eerie enough to cause her to cry. But, she didn’t, because she had to move on and get to work. Taking a deep breath, she pushed forward and opened the two large doors.

What she saw had almost stopped her from breathing; the village was destroyed. Huts and houses that once stood and protected families from the harsh weather were now rubble and ash from fires. Animals and people, every race and being was dead that could be seen. Doubting anyone would still be alive, all due to her being weak at battle.

The one crow that had been squawking had a sad and disappointed look on its face, until it turned its head sharply towards Kitten. The bird took off into the air and swooped down as quickly as it possibly could. Just before landing on the ground, it changed shape into a young boy that looked only a couple of years older than herself, right before her. “I thought you were dead! I went inside the chapel after hearing a loud commotion, and then saw you praying as many black mists began to surround you, then the lights went out and the next thing I knew, you were on the floor, dead. Everyone in this area is dead, except for me, of course. The demons seemed to leave the village once making sure that everyone in the town that they could find was gone. What are we going to do?” he had asked excitedly, fists closed tight, her now realising that he must be the one that everyone called...Long Winded.

She had looked at him a bit, then sighing to herself, she spoke, “I do not know, changeling stranger. I have been to Hell, and all I can do is to pray for the Goddess to help us.” She then looked back at ground, “I cannot explain what has happened, but I have been sent with a vision from the Goddess, and I’m going to try to stop it.” He then looked at her, straight faced, “Alright, whatever you say. Since we’re the only ones left around here, we might as well get acquainted. My name is Ravenloft, what is yours?”

She nodded a bit, afraid to tell him her real name. But, since he was the only other living being, like he said, she decided that it wouldn’t hurt too much. “My name is Vhaidra, but call me Kitten, for the safety of both of us. And to get us started on our journey, if you’re brave enough to venture with me, we must reach the nearest village before sun-down, before the demons can reach it.” “What do you plan on doing when we get there?” He asked, a bit of doubt in his eyes. “What do you think? We are going to protect it the best we can, at least try to get the villagers out of there and into a more safe area.” Kitten said, trying not to laugh out of nervousness, now.

With the look on Ravenloft’s face, she knew what was wrong. They had no weapons. But, she had her little bit of gold, and she may be able to buy a weapon or two and maybe some armor even. The gold, though, would have to be picked from the lifeless bodies that lay on the ground. What was left of them, anyway.

As she thought to herself, he understood some-what of what was going on. She mumbled to herself as she clasped her hands gently, “Forgive us, Mother.” They both began to roam through their village, picking gold off of corpses, filling up Ravenloft’s bag and their pockets. She would miss her citadel and her home, but she had to end this nightmare that had just began, for the sake of this sinful world.

It very good. It moving a bt slow but it still good. Don't know what you mean about your religion but I bet it is ok.

One suggestion. When people talk can you give them a seperte paragraph fro the character. Like when Kitten talk she has a small paragraph then for Ravenloft he has a paragragph. It kind of confusing to see Kitten talking then in the same paragraph Ravenloft is talking. It looks for a while that Kitten was saying that. Just a litte clear up.
