Ed is able to seal Al’s soul inside of a huge suit of armor, at the cost of his arm. Years later, Ed (now with two mechanical limbs) and Al (still trapped in the armor) leave their childhood home, each brother concerned with the other’s happiness. Ed, who has a natural talent and skill for alchemy, becomes nationally certified and is soon known everywhere as the "Fullmetal Alchemist." Their true objective is to search for any information on the fabled Philosopher’s Stone, hoping it will allow them to regain their old bodies. All of their hopes rest with this mythical stone, which may not even exist at all. However, the brothers soon learn that they are not the only ones after the powerful stone.

I don't have much of a liking to FMA, so I'd have to choose Rurouni Kenshin.

Rurouni Kenshin, noting against FMA, but I wanna see Kenshin move on.

FMA~

Out of the two, it's ending was the only real one.

I disagree, >: Samurai X's ending was pretty emotional, also left at a good cliff hanger and make-ya-wonder kinda ending. It hade great progression, (exept for the many Kyoto Arc fillers) and even though it had over double the FMA eps, unlike Inuyasha, it never got boring. It's also cool that the comic relief can be done by the serious main character at the same time! ^o^ The variety of characters were also very colorful. LOOOOVED Soujirou. Just...a character masterpiece, I would say. Lots of twists, but then again, FMA has lots of twists too :P The animation was also spiffy~ More chibi X3

The series rocked, the OVA kicked SERIOUS butt, and well, the show just owned :P

FMA had an inconclusive ending until you see the movie, but I vote for it.

Though this is mucho hard, my name says it all. Rurouni Kenshin all the way. Though the last episode was very boring, the rest of the anime was awesome. So was the movie and the OVAs.

Oro?

Samurai X and the series are two different things though. Either way, the way the OVAs played out is not how Watsuki wanted the series to end, he dies from cancer there I think...in the manga it's after Kauro gives birth that he's killed. Plus, the final 30 episodes were some of the worst fillers ever.

Actually, the choice isn't really that hard for me. Since I know NOTHING about Rurouni Kenshin, I'll just go with what I know and vote FMA.

Rurouni Kenshin, just to spite the FMA fans who have screwed with the show's meaning so much that it doesn't even feel like the same show anymore.

RK was one of the first anime I ever saw; it was a gateway anime that eased me off of childrens' anime and into more mature ones. I'll always be thankful for what it did for me.

I could care less about show endings as long as the rest of the series is good :X

Samurai X

They had to pit these two against eachother, IMO whoever wins this, takes it.

I'm going to vote Rurouni Kenshin, very good TV series and even better OVA's, and it has a full complete story with the OVA's, manga, and the anime. Nothing against FMA but Rurouni Kenshin just pwns.

I hate the american version of FMA (they're from europe dammit, what's with the American accents?) but I love the japanese version and the manga, so I'll go with that.
