Well, since the old one died i'm making a new one.

This is where you can discuss anything and everything about Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X)

Personally, I liked the eps that Toonami showed on tv before they took them away. Now i'm kinda confused since they never really showed the whole series and i've just been watching bits and parts of it XD.

(or they have and I just haven't been paying attention X3)

After the Kyoto Arc you can more or less stop watching the show. Everything else is just filler for the next 30 episodes until the series ends. The Christian Arc and the Water Dragon Arcs were both good, but each was only about six episodes long. You could probably fill in the last arc with the three OVAs but from what I know, it's not how Watsuki wanted the ending for the anime to happen, so I just stick to the manga myself.

Yeah, the Jinchu Arc (last arc) was never animated so they tried to make it into an OVA (Reflection) but the ending wasn't what Watsuki wanted. I didn't like it either, the rest of the anime is awesome though, especially if you see everything(OVA's, series, manga).

Yeah i've heard that most of the eps are fillers until the end which is kinda a dissapiontment.

I also heard that the people in Japan didn't like the ending of the Anime, and that is why they made Reflection, right?

(cause I don't know XD)

I also wanna know this; did the Rurouni Kenshin manga end in Japan already? Oh, and was it ended at volume 21?

Oh, and:

(warning, spoilers (I think))

Did Kenshin and Kauro really die at the end? ;______________;

Cause I was looking for a summary of Reflection and I never found one. >.>

Once the anime had ended the Kyoto Arc, it was only about 50 chapters behind the current chapter in the Enshi arc. That would only be 20 episodes at the most, the Enishi arc would need at least 40 episodes to play out. So they went into fillers, the fillers got low, really really...I mean really low ratings. The final episode wasn't even aired on TV they were so low.

Then Sony of Japan and some others wanted to make the OVAs, so they went ahead with them. The first two cover the backstory of Kenshin and the last one is a little over ten volumes crammed into one hour. And spoiler time....

Yeah, Kenshin and Kauro both die, I haven't seen the last OVA myself yet though. From what I've read, Kenshin gets cancer in the movie and that's how he dies. In the manga, it's a little more fleshed out. Both Kenshin and Kauro contract a disease shortly after the birth of their son. Kauro dies first and then Kenshin goes off and ends up getting killed, I'm not sure if it was Tomoe's little brother that killed him or not, it's been a while. Anywho, after all that happens, I think it was either Sanosuke or Yahiko that end up beating the one that killed Kenshin. The child is left in the care of Yahiko at the end of the series as shown in the Yahiko no Sakabouto after story.

Woah, I can never imagine Kenshin getting THAT low of ratings

*spoilers*

;_______________________________; I KNEW IT!! *dies*

My friend told me he died of a skin diesease in Reflectino (I think she has it but she said she would never let me borrow it >_____>) and that he died of cancer in the manga. Either way, a part of me if forever lost ;_____; *crawls in dark corner and dies*

That's the answer to some of what you believe. As in reflection OVA standards.

Yes the manga has ended in Japan and it consists of 28 volumes. Also you are right, the Japanese didn't like the ending to the anime so they made Reflection but they didn't like that either. Spoilers..............

In the OVA, Kenshin and Kaoru get Tuberculosis and that is how they die. In the manga I believe they get cancer but I havn't read most of the manga.

kenshin is my favorite anime. watched all the ova's and a good portion of the episodes(before they got basically cancelled, i think they're back though).

I kind of have a semi-spoiler question

What age did kenshin die at? i used to know, but i forgot...

Ryoutarou

30 or 35 I think, the entire series only spanned like a year and then there was a gap in time.

Nyau~

Well it was like, 15 years since he left Karuo at the begginin of Reflection. (it flashbacked to 15 years ago from what i've heard)

I'm sorry for saying tuberculosis, it's either tuberculosis or syphilis, people discuss this.

If you look ate Kenshin's age at the end of the anime he is 28, and in Reflection it did flashback 15 years like Kakashi said so that would bring his age to 43.

Yes, it was a skin disease that one of them caught and gave it to the other, although I think Kenshin had it first.

Well actually I just downloaded it and the ending was pretty sad (I almost cried if it wasn't for my mom and my brother and his gf in the room next to me. Kenshin does die, but Karou doesn't. So how come everybody is saying she does? o__O;;

She does die but they don't show it in the OVA. That girl that Kenji is with at the end looks like her.

Neko64
December 11th, 2005, 05:52 AM
But how does that prove that she died? O__O;; She might have lived and had her after... Kenshin died. *cries again*

Jeudi
December 11th, 2005, 02:06 PM
Well, the epilouge after said:

"That her and Kenshin/Shinta's son, Kenji was leaving with his girlfriend. Kaoru was dead by the time he was leaving."]

Neko64
December 11th, 2005, 09:04 PM
Well that must've been an add i or something cause when Kenji and his girlfriend were walking they didn't mention anything even along the lines about that o__O;;

Jeudi
December 12th, 2005, 12:49 PM
They don't mention that she died, you can just assume.

Neko64
December 12th, 2005, 01:02 PM

*sigh* I'm not gonna fight. I'll just have to download the dub too.

So anyways..

Yeah XD When I saw Kenji and his girlfriend walking together I first thought that his girlfreind was his sister or something o__O;; She looked a lot like Kauro to me..But thats just me.
