I posted this over in the 'Ash' poll thread.....

Though for some reason, for the past nearly nine years, they haven't show him age hardly at all. Meaning he looks as if he's still the same height and still about 12 years old. Plus in today's episode, The Relicanth Can, Jessie mentioned something about them having the sub for all of these years. Wouldn't that be a sign of things?

...so, am I the only one that thinks that Ash and the other characters are cheating time by looking the same they did back nearly nine years ago? Also, I seen that May is or getting an egg. Are they trying to make her more like Misty was? Anyway, this is just my thoughts and oppions.:nervous:

i'll make a wild guess and say that in the show maybe only 1-3 years have passed. not sure what to say on the sub... maybe they think 3 years is several or maybe it's just an inconsistancy with the story

I think it's exactly what was going on in the Baby-Sitters Club. The Pokemon world is definitely in a time warp where a year is about 4 of our earth years.

I've been wondering that too, which is funny because time does elapse. Like when Ash went to the Viridian Gym, been a year since the attack on the Viridian Pokemon Center, so yeah, time does elapse. But I will agree with Clair, it's one comic year equals four real time. And now, I don't know why they don't even acknowledge time anymore. They did in Kanto and some in Johto, just nothing now or I guess BF Kanto. Huh.

Or maybe he has a hormone problem and can't grow. ;)

As for the May/Misty issues. If the issue was going to be addressed, would have been when May was introduced. Besides currently, May has her own confidences and neurosis problems, which is different from the stable and confident Misty. So yeah, with the egg, it acts and looks more when Ash got his egg in season five, since the series is trying to make her a strong trainer than a cute and cuddly one like Misty. Just saying.

Time, like the importance of last names of other major characters and histoy/time of the past, is one of those thing that doesn't matter in the anime.

The anime can be on for 40 years and Ash won't look a day older then 11. They just don't bother with that stuff. They show some changes with the clothe change thing in the beginning of the AG but that is it.

As of May and her egg. Well, It just time repeating itself. Misty had one. Ash had one. Now May. It jsut giving May something to do till the next contest. This Eevee may have something to do at the next contest but then it just going to be like Munchlax and Combustken. Forgotten and not much use.

Actually, Ash has really changed since the days of Kanto.

I mean, to me, he looks at least 15 or 16 in Hoenn (or, at least he is in my opinion).

That new outfit and everything made him look a lot older. ^_^

Also, look at this, it compares Kanto/Johto Ash to Hoenn Ash:

Hmmm... I dunno, he looks very young so I say he's probably 13 or 14. But, I do agree time elapse and the only problem is it's gradual and kinda different.

Well, it's the anime after all, anything could happen into it.

Yes, once I realized it was Eevee and something that didn't need constant holding and cuddling like Togepi, I realized that the show had had yet another lapse in fairness as far as their treatment of May as opposed to Misty goes. I was hoping the hatchling, whatever it was, would end up being a personality killer, but that wasn't to be.
