Today I went on Serebii.net and I found out that a Pokemon from the 4th generation may be in the 7th Pokemon movie!

Here is what it said:

Tuesday: BIO, Deoxys & More i.e. FIRST NEWS ON 4TH GENERATION!
- 16-3-2004-15:10-EST - Serebii

4th Generation

Well, the official japanese site recently updated with a listing of the Main Pokémon in the 7th movie. These were all 3 forms of Deoxys, Rayquaza, Plusle & Minun aswell as a ?. Now this isn't much to go on and may not be official either but Chances are it is a brand new Pokémon in the Movie. More as it Comes
Remember, it is not 100% Official yet

What do you guys think?

I wonder if it's going to play a big role and be all powerful and stuff...they always do that for movies...

I'm guessing that it'll be the first 4th-generation Pokemon released and it'll probably be some trainers Pokemon that doesn't play a big role. Just like the Donphan in the first movie. I'm really excited to see new Pokemon. When I first heard of the 3rd generation Pokemon, I went crazy. I was at my local Barns & Noble and I was reading a Pokemon Beckett Collector magazine and I saw pictures of Kecleon, Azurill, and Wailmer in it. I was really excited. :P

I read the article in Pokémon Club - Evolution, and wasn't SURPRISED!, I just said: WOW! SO COOL, THREE NEW POKÉMON!!! MARILL'S DEVOLUTION, LIKE A PICHU!! A WHALE POKÉMON! IT LOOKS SO HAPPY, I THINK, AND IS QWILFISH'S EVOLUTION! KAKUSU+REON! A CHAMELEON POKÉMON! COLOR CHANGE!... But this one must be like "Celebi's Evolution", that in true was Dark Celebi... but only the time will (or won't) say...

If it is, I hope it's another Dragon, this time either part Fire or part Dark. But I really don't want another generation of Pokemon. What we have is enough.

I dunno...a whole new generation?

the 386 we have now are enough. It's beginning to seem to me that Nintendo is just using the revealing of new pokémon as ways to attract people to buy the games.

2000: "Ooh! Ooh! This new Gold and silver games are gonna include 100 new pokémon! We gotta get it!"
2003: "Wow! They've added a whole new world and over 100 new pokémon to the game! Man, we've gotta get these Ruby and Sapphire games!"

If Nintendo releases another pokémon generation, they'd better have the graphical and featural (if that's a word) improvements and not just a bunch of tacky add-on new pokémon. Ruby and Saphire will be hard to top.

A 4th generation already? Isn't it a little too early? The 3rd generation are pratically still new. I think it is one of those false rumors.

If its not on the official site I don't see why anybody takes it seriously.

I won't make a judgement until I have solid proof. It's much too early to be introducing a 4th generation of pokemon...a new wave shouldn't come out until AT LEAST 2006. But if they were to just introduce a couple it'd be alright. I knew about Kakureon, Hoeruko, and Ruri Ruri two years before R/S even came out...I believe they were introduced spring 2001, and I first saw them in EGM. I wouldn't mind them making some new ones already if they were just included on a disc like the preorder Jirachi that we had to dowload...I'd probably pay $20 for a couple dozen new pokemon.

I doubt they could start planning gen-four yet. The metagame has barely had time to live out, I doubt any of its serious flaws have shown. GSC was out long enough for everyone to see Bliss/Skarm/Lax/Cune Bellrest flaw etc.

The new generation may comes in Nintendo DS... Yeah, this may be a new Mew... 387... but where are the pics? I search in the Web but I don't find any pic!!!

Ehh... Nintendo DS is portable but I doubt being the way it is it would be comfortable for the Pokémon Gamer.

But then again, an article on the DS:
“MYSTERY PRODUCT” TO LAUNCH LATER THIS YEAR

Nintendo announces the end of year launch of a new portable game system with two monitors, the Nintendo DS (temporary name). By adopting two TFT LCD’s in a vertical position as well as two CPU’s, the Nintendo DS will provide unprecedented and brand new interactive entertainment experiences.

Today’s announcement is just a glimpse of the additional features and benefits that will be shown in full at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles in May. Once fully revealed, players will see the innovative advance in game interaction.

From information made available today, players can look forward to being able to manage their game progress from two different perspectives, enhancing both the speed and strategy of the challenge. For example in a football game, you can view the whole game on one screen, while simultaneously focusing on an individual footballer’s tackle or goal on the other screen. Players will no longer be forced to interrupt game play to shift perspective, such as moving from a wide shot to a close up, or alternating between a character’s ongoing battle and a map of their environment. Nintendo DS makes it possible to perform the tasks in real time by simply glancing from one screen to the other.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president, explains: “We have developed Nintendo DS based upon a completely different concept from existing game devices in order to provide players with a unique entertainment experience for the 21st century".

Nintendo DS features two separate 3” (75mm) TFT LCD display panels, separate processors, and semiconductor memory of up to 1 Gigabit. It is scheduled to launch worldwide before the end of 2004. In addition to Nintendo developed software, the company is in discussions with third party game developers around the world.

Nintendo DS will be marketed separately from the existing Nintendo Game Boy Advance portable system and Nintendo GameCube home console.

Duke R, you will find pictures and they will be proved fake later on unless Pokémon.co.jp or trusted magazines actually revealed them.

I personaly hope they dont make anymore new pokemon, theres way to many as it is, they're just trying to cash in some more by bringing new ones, i think they should just leave it alone, it kinda ruins the storyline a bit, Where were all these Pokemon in the first games/series??????

Sorry but actually this movie is coming out this summer on 17 July 2004. So no there is no time for a new generation to be made. Advanced Generation is only on episode 68 anyway.

I repeat: if its not on the real site (http://www.pokemon2004.jp) , its not real.

It might be possible that a few/one from the 4th generation may appear. It happend before (Donphan in 1st movie, Lugia in 2nd movie, Latias & Latios 5th movie). The official 2004 website has a section showing all the pokemon who will appear in the movie (the three forms of Deoxys, Rayquaza, Minum, Plusle and a spot with a ?)
However, I highly doubt to see a whole new generation popup anytime soon.

I have a feeling now that the "?" talked about might be a Pokemon that shows up at the end of the final battle in the movie. Like maybe Mew, since Mew wasn't in Mewtwo Returns like it should of. Maybe he moved to Hoenn instead. Or maybe it'll be Mewtwo. ~_^

stewie&rupert
March 19th, 2004, 02:11 AM
i really want it to be mewtwo now, itll be the ultimate battle between-
mewtwo vs. deoxys,
150 vs. 386,
the most powerful pokemon vs. the rumered most powerful pokemon,
half-evil vs. evil/good?,
genetic vs. DNA,
Myutsu vs. Deokishisu.

May I say more, that'll be the best.

March 19th, 2004, 07:34 PM
Uh guys, it is the right time to start showing new Pokemon

Japanese years below
Red/Green came in 1996
Gold/Silver came in 1999
Ruby/Sapphire came in 2002

Going with this it should come in 2005 since its a 3 year gap between games

Now, the first Johto Pokémon, Ho-oh was shown in 1997, but that doesnt quite count so we'll go with Togepi, Snubbull, Marill and Donphan revealed in the 1st Movie in 1998 (Jp. Date)

Hoenn Pokémon, At E3 2001, Kecleon, Azurill and Wailmer were revealed and shown in the 4th Movie in the same year

Both of these are a year before the release of the Games at hand and are used for sneak peeks

Now the 7th Movie is released on July 17th 2004, which is a year before the predicted time therefore; There is absolutely 0 reason why they wont show one 4th Gen Pokémon now, even if the games arent out til 2006

Obviously they are thinking about it, it will get them money

Greed
March 20th, 2004, 08:43 PM
Hopefully not --;; I'm sick and tired of pokemon always making crummy movies.. --;; All they want is money, and besides, I read on an article Pokemon's down lately. Even the movies. Actually, I think the first movie was more succesful than the rest. Besides, I liked it more =P

there is goning to be a new one in the movie look at the past ones movie 4 had a few new ones and so did movie 2 and 1 so it's only likley that there IS going to be a new one. It will probley only be in the mini movie and not have a big role if it's in the main movie. and since adv.gen. look's like it's only going to be a 2 year thing we might get genaration 4 by next year in japan.

yakksoho
March 23rd, 2004, 12:56 AM
I think that the ? on the pokemon 2004 site is not valid evidence of there being a brand new pokemon. As was mentioned, in myuustuu no gyakushuu, the "?" pokemon was myuu, and this wasn't a new pokemon because myuu had been there from the beginning as part of the first 151, but just had not made it into the cartoon until that movie.

Similarly, we can probably expect an unusual, very rare, and very powerful pokemon to appear in rekkuu no houmonsha, but the odds of it being some all-new pokemon are very unlikely.

Someone said that new pokemon are released in intervals of 3 or so years. However, perhaps you all want to note that to date NO NEW POKEMON HAVE BEEN RELEASED IN A MOVIE BEFORE BEING RELEASED ELSEWHERE.

Id est, all 'new' pokemon in the cartoon appeared first in games, or were mentioned in the cartoon earlier.

Give it up. I think that we all should be more mature than this rumor-tossing garbage.

If its not official, it's not real. There is only one official source of pokemon information and that is tv-tokyo in japan.

Uh, I gave examples

Donphan was in the main 1st Movie without any prior mention. Slowking in the 2nd, Wailmer in the 5th(but it was in the 4th Pikachu Short)

Jeez

Also, while it is possible it could be an old Pokémon, it is far more likely to be a new one. We have discovered all 386 Pokemon, back in RB they thought it there was only 150 with mentions of Mew in Cinnibar, Mew was classed a s new Pokémon even though it was programmed into the games

In fact, it is the movies that brought on the revealing of many of the Pokémon

When the 5th movie trailers came out, it revealed for the first time; Latios, Latias, Wynaut, Volbeat and Duskull

They were not revealed prior to that

I am still hedging my bets that it is a new Pokémon...it is the most logical option. If it was a Pokémon we knew about, such as maybe Kyogre or Regice...then they would not blank it. Mew was not catchable in the games, these guys are

I don't know who Wailmer is so I can't answer about that.

There in lies the problem

I know for a fact that Latios & Latias, Volbeat, Duskull and Wynaut were not revealed UNTIL the trailer and posters for the 5th Movie came out. I know for a fact that Donphan was shown before it was revealed for GS, by a few months if I remember correctly, Slowking, Ledyba, Bellossom, Lugia and Elekid possibly and probably were shown before the 2nd Movie was shown. Kecleon, Azurill and Wailmer were shown in the 4th Movie trailers first and then revealed with R/S a month or two later.

Whilst Mew may have been in the original games, he was not obtainable, that is why he was a ?, because he was a secret kinda new Pokémon which people had only read about in the Journals

Again, I dont see where you get your information on this. That movie came out several years ago (early 2002) and latios and latias were already released. Same with all the other monsters you mentioned.

Mew was there from the beginning because he is the 151st pokemon, and there were originally 151 pokemon. For example the first ending themesong to pocket monsters ever (which debuted with the first episode of pocket monsters in 1997) is the song 'hyaku gojuu ichi' which means 151, and talks about having 151 friends (the pokemon).

Serebii

March 25th, 2004, 12:09 AM
It does seem plasible that they would introduce a Pokemon from the 4th generation in the movie... but not likely. It would make more sense to wait until a closer release date for the "next" games... introducing the 4th generation now wouldn't gain as much audience as if they introduced it right around the introduction of new games...

I think I just confused myself. oO

Okkay I dont like to argue either :)
as far as mizu no miyako no mamorigami goes...i know that those trailers are on the tapes of the uzumaki cup when those videocassettes were released (I know this, because I HAVE all of those tapes) and so that was the point I was trying to make with that comment. Perhaps it could be settled by finding the release date of the game and comparing it with the release date of the uzumaki cup videos?

The pokemon movies aren't originally crummy, the dub makes them that way, regardless off new pokemon, the movies aren't crummy.

Yes, we do. At least I know about it. I'm planning on buying it sometime during the summer too. Although, I'm not nearly as excited about movie 6 as I am about movie 7. Movie 7 will probably become the most popular Pokemon movie too because of the new Pokemon. Rayquaza and Deoxys of course help too. :P

Yes, they are remakes of the original Red and Green versions that came out in Japan. Basically our Red and Blue even though they also had a Blue in Japan. Anyway, my point is that those games do not feature a new generation because they are just remakes of their original counterpart with addition features and places.
