It was confirmed today by Israeli officials that Ariel Sharon, prime minister of Israel, had suffered a massive, possibly debilitating stroke.

According to this article (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10519823/from/RL.1/), Sharon endured nine hours of surgery on the brain to stem expulsion of blood. Not only was the blood vesse ruptured, but the Kadima party, which he formed after splitting with the Likud party, suffered a blow at regional polls due to the fact that the party was built entirely around him. Such structure was bound to fail should he fall ill, and this time, fear officials, he has a slim chance of regaining full motor abilities, let alone the capability of doing his job as prime minister. In turn, it is also feared, extremists may use such an imbalance of power to step up terrorism.

Only a few weeks before, Sharon had suffered a mild stroke and walked out of the hospital a few days later.

In Virginia Beach, American televangelist Pat Robertson viewed the stroke (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10728347/) as the direct result of God's infuriation over his attempts to appease the United Nations and other organisations of the like and broadcast so on CBN's 'The 700 Club' television programme. Reverend Barry Lynn, head of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, criticised him for 'thinking God is ready to take out any world leader who stands in the way of [his political] agenda'. Robertson later recanted his statement.

So what say you to the situation? Will Israel's situation be exacerbated due to Sharon's stroke? Will he be able to return to power again, and if so, can he conduct his business the same way? Discuss.

I heard about that remark from a host of WHNN's morning radio talk show (http://www.whnn.com/showdj.asp?DJID=15570) this morning.
I am ashamed that Sharon went along with U.N. pleas to give Gaza to the Palestinians. Guess we can all say goodbye to Israel now? (hoping it never happens)
I am in full opposition of a Palestinian state.
Establishment of a Palestinian state will completely remove all of Israel out of existence! It's all part of the "Roadmap to Peace", which the first step was the forced withdrawl from Gaza

There is no such thing as Palestinian Peace, not with Israel's existence anyway.

Why would you care? Why SHOULD ANYONE NOT CARE!? Don't you realize he's heading a small country in massive turmoil and suffering from widespread hatred all over the world! As I write this, within each second going by, the risk of Israel being dissolved and converted into a Palestininan state increases by even a margin! Action must be taken before the world gets another Islamic state! Exactly what the late PLO terrorist dictator Yasser Arafat wanted, and current dictator Mahmoud Abbas is pursing!

Arafat outght be grinning down from hell over the Palestininan takeover progress. *vents anger*
