Here is the story
You live in Kanto.

When you are 6 years old, you see a pokemon battle on TV, Bruno VS Cooltrainer.

After that battle you are inspired to become a pokemon master. Your best friend July or Max depending on your gender, go out to complete your pokedex and become pokemon masters from Oaks Lab. You choose between Balbasaur, Charlamander, and Squirtle. When you defeat the E4 in Kanto, you move to Dewford Island.

You have to go to Slateport to go to Johto (First you battle Brawly) You arrive in Olivine where TR is causing trouble in the lighthouse. Defeat them and get the rail pass to go from Goldenrod, to Saffron, to Littleroot. From Olivine you go on a hot air balloon ride to New Bark town. Then you go through Johto, once you defeat the E4 in a new town (The water in Newbark is blocked off)

You can go to Houen and Challenge the gym leaders there. Once you finish the E4 there, you go to the Ale region.

Defeat the 10 gym leaders and go to Ale Town to face the Elite 4.

Then you take a trip to "Pokemon Paridise" But is actually Orre. There are no gym leaders but you must snag and purify all 68 (yes 68) pokemon. Then the subway in The Under can take you to goldenrod, saffron, etc.

Then you move to the Actur Region to catch new pokemon for your pokedex. While defeating the gym leaders there, TR, TA, TAk, TM, all join together and become TI. You fight them in the Yulo region while investigating a asteroid that fell. The Asteroid didn't burn up in the Earth's atmosphere. The yulo region holds many new pokemon and Gyms.

You hear about a ticket to go to Juno a region by becoming 1st in the tornament at Camp Belini (in Orre). Once you win you go to Juno, it's not big, but you can find many rare pokemon here (Tropius) At the end there is a cave, in the cave you find more rare pokemon(Kabuto) At the end you see Groudon and it uses Eruption. You white out to Jero (town in Juno)

The Eruption attack created an island named Volcanic Isle. You can go over there. There is no towns but a cave and a forest. There is one place where humans are but they live in tiny huts.

Once you catch 200 pokemon you get a phone call that the ferry now supports Altomare (5th movie) This is where you catch Latios and Latias. You catch water and grass pokemon only.

Then when you have 225 pokemon in your pokedex get a call to come home, at home you meet Scott who takes you to the Battle Frontier. At the frontier you can surf to a tiny island to get through the Battle Maze.

When you get 270 pokemon in your pokedex, you get a call saying the ferry now runs in the Sevvi Islands. You will now have 10 islands.

Once you get 315 pokemon, you get a call that the ferry now runs to Orange Islands. You battle with the gym leaders now. You surf to the different islands exept the one Drake is on (Orange Champ) That is where the ferry goes to get back to mainland. When you defeat Drake you get a ticket to go to the serebii forest.

The Serebii Forest has Celibii there and leads to the Ilex Forest.

Once you get 330 pokemon you get a call the ferry goes to Nuloc, at the last town (With E4) you see a river and more land.

Across the river is pure water Valley (Mewtwo returns area) You'll find many bugs, and water pokemon. There is a person who is selling Fresh Water. When Nuloc's E4 is defeated, you can go to the East of Nuloc and find a bridge made of Blockies.

The bridge leads into La Rousse City.

When you get 360 pokemon you get a call the ferry now runs to Lilu. Once you defeated 5 gym leaders you can go West and see Rota (8th movie area)

There is a cave which leads into a valley where you battle Rukario.

Once you get 395 pokemon you get a call to come home. At home you meet Harison who finished pokeland. You can now go there. Pokeland has Pokemon park, Pokemon Festival, and in the center a training gym.

When you have 420 pokemon you get a call that you can go to New Island. It has an abandoned building.

When you have 445 pokemon you can go to Voup. This place is filled with wild pokemon.

When you have 480 pokemon the ferry service calls and you can go to Mika. The southern part likes Lunatone. The Northern part likes Solrock. There are 2 caves. One has moon pokemon and the other has sun pokemon. In the Exact middle of the region is a river.

When you have caught 500 pokemon you get a call to go to Elm's Lab. He lets you get a Johto starter. When you walk outside you get a call to go to Prof. Birch's lab. He lets you choose one of the starters.

When you have 502 pokemon, you get a call from Prof. Elm, a new island has been discovered. It is on the edge of the map. They called it World's Edge Island (They still thought the world was flat) They ferry takes you there and you can battle Mew.

When you have 505 pokemon, you get a call that the ferry now runs too Serpinta where the Medusa pond is. When you catch Medusa, show it to Prof. Birch and he gives you a choice of Veged Fossil or the Vore Fossil if you give him the Blood Scale attached. Go to Rustboro to revive your fossil.

When you get 510 pokemon you may go to the Aqua Islands. Many water pokemon live here. There are no humans here. The Aqua Islands consist of 8 islands.
When you have 538 pokemon you can now go to Leek. This is a region devoted to bird pokemon. In the middle of the region there is a 45 story building. On the rooftop you can see the sky. There are patches of grass where you can catch bird pokemon.
When you have 555 pokemon you can go to Koke. It is a very high region with many ice pokemon. It has many caves. You can go to Egg Isle by surfing from Koke (At Koro Port). They have a gym and a day care center.
When you have 595 pokemon you get a call that you can go to Forland. It is a medium sized island that has a forest. The forest is very rainy.
When you get 640 pokemon, you can go to Deeser. It is a large desert region. You can find Castform there with many other ground pokemon
When you get 655 pokemon, you can go to Xeno. It has a cave at the end which has Groudon. You battle someone and then Groudon uses Eruption. It creates The Tropic Islands.
The Tropics is composed of many many islands. You fight Team Alpha and Team Omega here.
When you get 750 pokemon, you can go to the Type Islands, there are 9 Islands. 8 islands are the 8 card types. Each you can find pokemon of the respective type. The 9th cave is accsesible by dive only. The 9th island has a town.
When you get 813 pokemon, you can go to the Lati Islands. It is basically 4 islands. 2 islands are very tiny. The other 2 are in the shape of Latios and Latias. Each big island has 2 caves and 2 towns. The tiny islands have just 1 town
When you get 815 pokemon, you can go to Lizardland. It is a region in the shape of a lizard. It has many towns and caves.
When you get 885 pokemon, you get a call from your mom. She tells you to come home. When you do, you find out that she was captured. You battle the person, he is very easy to beat. When you do he will run off. Your mom gives you a moon shard. Then tells you about Cipher's new base. You can go to Ciper now.
Ciper has over 200 shadows, so you better buy some pokeballs before you leave. There are 2 pokespots. Rock Pokespot, and River Pokespot. You get to see all the admins in their very own base! You also get to see Miror B, Team Snagem, and Deathgold! You also see Umbrous pokemon and now XD pokemon. They won't give up on creating shadow pokemon.
When you have 900 pokemon in the pokedex, you can go to Destra. It is and average region.
When you have 926 pokemon, you can go to Tecron. It has many islands surrounding it.
When you get 941 pokemon, you can go Paae. Half is a region and half is some big islands.
When you get 945 pokemon, you can go to Doon it is a lot like Tecron.
When you get 962 pokemon, you can go to Janto. It is North of Kanto and Johto.
When you get 973 pokemon, you can go to Ecuador.
When you get 999 pokemon, you can go to Mizuho.
When you get 1000 pokemon, you get a call from Prof. Ceader (Prof. of Ale) to come to his lab. He will give you a sun shard and he will let you take all of the Ale starters.
When you obtain 1026 pokemon, you can go to Ferg. It has a port which you must use to get to the Massive Ocean. You can dive underwater and find Kyogre. Then go into the cave to find Groudon. They are both at level 75

Pretty long, it'll get longer.

1500? 50 regions? No offence but i highly doubt this will be finished even if you do get the team nice story though

Haha, 1500 pokemon. That would take official game developers over 30 years. At the rate they are goin now that is. Because its been 10 years and we still only have 386. And 50 regions?? lol...I thought my game with 6 regions was too much. Unless your pokemon sprites will be 2x2 pixels big and your regions the size of a houses you will never get it finished, Or even a decent demo.

But on the contrary good luck. The higher you aim that faster the bullet will fall.

I think that 50 regions is not only too much but so is 1500 pokemon at once. I mean, look at my team's game, it will start with the original 386 and a couple of regions but the plot and new systems will hold the gamer for those regions without getting bored, we will then release patches to add new pokemon and regions but with interesting plots and systems to add to the game as well, if you try and add 50 regions and huge ammounts of pokemon at once you will run out of ideas, so take it easy and go slow, you can always make newer versions later :)

For Wala, there is 388 US pokemon and 391 Japanize pokemon.
For Darkdragon, this is my 1st version with all this. Then it'll get bigger with maybe 2500 pokemon or something. I won't run out of ideas. I can have 152,881 with every mix. 1500 is less a 200th of that. (101.9206666 continuing 6s to be exact.)

Anyhow I will finish because my last 10-20 games weren't finished. They all were lost because I didn't have something I needed or I forgot or I was lazy.
Those games were dust in the wind.

Now I'm determined to make Pokemon Orange the most famous thing ever!
I will not QUIT! When pokemon XP is finished.

When I finish Orange, I will wait for a year to get more team and stuff, then start Pokemon Copper, and so on and so forth.

I have added stuff to my game today on my website. New Attacks, types, items, and more story.

Well, seeing the actual sprites for all those Pokémon has convinced me a little you can do this. It'll still take immense time and work making the stats and all those moves for the Pokémon though. But good luck.

the story line is ok but i think 50 reagions is way to much becase after about 6 reagions people will start getin board and there is only so much you can do with a pokemon game before it stops been pokemon

Datriot- It will be tough, I know that, but I will not Give UP
Spike6958- People could get bored with my game (could that be possible?)

For me, I beat emerald and I don't play it anymore cause I'm bored. I don't want that to happen to my game. It is better to spend forever playing a long game than being bored with a game that you finished.

Xhurukenshinx- I know it will be big. I know that I will somehow become famous if this game is finished.

I have added some links to the new pokemon in the pokedex. It will hold the info for the pokemon there and will save room on the pokedex so it won't be picture overload.

Also, a guestbook for comments

What to say... Ambitious. Not impossible. Will require an external database... A large team of graphical designers. about 50 map makers, one for each region. RMXP v.2. Around 2 years to get it all together. Nothing to do for those two years, nothing at all. About four 5-subject notebooks. A great writer. I'll add more when i think of it.

But to be truthful, the size of the graphics folder will top off at around 500mb with palette optimized png images.

How i would set it up. Use the online capabilities of rmxp to have it download the graphics as you progress. Like Guild Wars does. Write every idea down. doesn't matter what it is. if you don't do this, later down the line you will be wondering what the original thing you ere going to do was and your memory will be a little fuzzy.

tdata
January 30th, 2006, 03:04 AM
No, i believe he is going to use the pokemon XP engine. The VBasic one. You can't make a game of this scale on any of the RpgMaker line before XP. I watched a person try. It crashed the engine at start.

Datriot

It is possible on RMXP, BUT there is only 999 hero spaces on the database, so you would have to script your own in using RGSS, which isn't actually that difficult. So all he would have to do is put 1500 (a lot XD) pokémon scripted on command_newgame on Scene_Title. Then all the Pokémon will be intialized when starting a new game.

FireMaker if you actually finish this then you should be rewarded handsomely. Anyhow whenever you have a bit into this game could you set up a demo and tell us where it is. This is gonna be interseting!

Tyler- That was a early screenshot, before XP was begun. It is there so you know what's coming.

firekp1- I will have a demo when Pokemon XP FINALLY comes out. I mean the full version. Until then, you must wait.

tdata- Eternal Database? Look at the graph team. I'll have to do all the maps unless something happens. i don't care how big the graphs are.
I will start writing down my info. I do have a bad memory :(

Rm2k3guy- It would be a really big file, but I can put it on a fast server. Maybe Nintendo would buy it (2nd idea not likely)

On updating, new pics for old pokemon, more pokemon with pics

Grand Total of 1535 pokemon currently (1144 new pokemon)

Eternal database. Usually either a file that is a huge excel doc or a true database. I'm looking into using MySQL For my game. I just need to talk to goldenaura about it. He is the RGSS God atm. I was just stating what you would need to get done before everyone said it isn't going to be made. Oh, i hope you don't use most of the pictures i saw of the new pokemon. Most are just stick drawings.

Ninteno would not buy it due to the fact you are using their
graphics which they do not allow lol i highly doubt they would
sue anyone for it I still doubt their would be a large enough
server.

Well, I think that this game'll succeed if FireMaker puts his mind to it. And He really has put his mind onto it! I mean, 1554 pokemon! (I checked the website) I believe in FireMaker. He'll succeed, and be rewarded greatly!
FireMaker, I believe in you!

Umm.. The best game ever? A little presumptuous for a ten year old..
That is quite a big list there.. Perhaps you have added too many things to your plate?

On a sidenote, I noticed this sprite in your sprite section: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/absolattacker/shaduana/shaducabra.gif
That sprite is not yours. It is for scompi's game Pokemon Legends, here is the website: http://scompi10.tripod.com/shaducabra.html
I suspect you just went around and stole a bunch of sprites to use in your game, and added the spriters names to your team list. Hasn't anyone else noticed that there is a pathetic squiggle of a pokemon at the top of the sprite page and then suddenly well done fusions down a bit further?

Sorry if you take offence to some of my comments, but we need to get to the bottom of this.. I didn't see any credit given to scompi and I'm not sure if you asked his permission either

Avatar
March 5th, 2006, 09:53 AM
Please do not use other people's hard work, without permission. Even if you give credit you need permission to use the sprites.

If you can provide me with substantial proof that you have permission from the spriters to use the sprites, PM me with it. Otherwise I will regard this as sprite theft.

is this a joke?
i highly doubt this game will ever get finished.

first of all, 1000 new pokemon is a lot, no...it's not a lot, it's massive!!
who's gonna sprite them all?

50 regions??
how much mappers do you need?
at least a few people per region.

and a total of 1500 pokemon.
this requires a huge database.
i don't know what programming language this is,
but with ruby or javascript it's at least 100 to 200 lines of script per stats for each pokemon.
for defining each name, id, front and back bitmap and the hp and exp for each level of the pkmn (99 levels  ).
maybe you need more lines of script.

in other words, this game will be slow if you don't have a fast computer.
(also known as Lag.)

and then thinking about the size of the file.
even if you split it in parts, it will be at least 50 Mb a file.

i'd say to reduce the amount of work,
and try to finish at least 1 region with the costum sprites.

I think you should concentrate on quality not quantity. I'm not dissing you but checking out some of your sprites, a lot of them are clearly rushed. And there are too many fusions.

Good luck, all the same.

Seriously dude? This is your 14th game in Game Development. And about 4-5 you've dubbed "The best game ever!!!" And none of them are even close to finished. This'll just be the same. Sorry, but it's true. For one thing, you're relying too much on other people. Another thing, it's ridiculously ambitious.

So how do you plan to code move sets for over 1500 pokemon?
And 50 regions is a bit much, don't you think?

Seems as though someone's bitten off a bit more than they can chew, eh?
