So this part of the forum is dead now, and I' m making a random poll =/. So of the three Legendary birds, which is your favoruite?Although Zapdos just outdoes them all, I've liked Articuno more since RBY.

edit: To mods, I did this as it pertains to the fact that you can catch the Shadow Versions of the birds in XD, just in-case you try to move this poll.

I've always loved Articuno. I think it's the most beautoful and elegant out of all of them. I even like it over the two other birds from GSC.

Well right now, we're only counting what are considered to be the "true" legendary birds. Btw, I'd like to take this moment that I will gladly prove or disprove anything said about these guys concerning their usefulness and abilities in competitive battling. That means, If you say Zapdos sucks, I can prove it doesn't :P

Articuno has been by fav since the first game and teh first time it came out in the TCG. Zapdos is second and...I HATE MOLTRES it's ugly and tacky and should drown. or fly away, whichever works :)

I like Articuno best as it seems the strongest out of the three plus i like it as it's blue.Zapdos in fire red took me only two catches with an ultra ball to catch plus electric attacks seem strong so Zapdos would be my second.Moltres i don't really like atall and isn't even in any of my team as it seems the weakest out of the three even though he's a fire Pokemon and i already have much better fire Pokemon in my team.

Any Shadow Pokemon you didn't catch vs Master Greevil are still catchable if you go back and face him.

i've always liked moltres, it looks so kool and it's speed + attack are incredible, besides i luv how fire pokemon look, it's wings make it look so elegant ^^

Articuno for me. I like it best appearance-wise and I think the new XD moves go quite a long way in improving its battle usefullness too. Too bad I can't enjoy that part. *Is a poor consoleless person*

Articuno or Zapdos... they're both super effective against the other two.
Ice > Flying
Electric > Flying
Fire > NOT Flying.
Therefore, Articuno and Zapdos, logically, are the best of the three.

And although I have yet to test it, I doubt Lugia can handle a well trained Zapdos.

Hhmm, Lugia vs Zapdos. Maybe MS Zapdos, or possibly the Choice Band variety. Lugia's a hefty tank though, especially with Recover, so I'd be more inclined to support Lugia on this.

For anyone who cares for a slightly more winded explaination to what synch means -

In strategic play, the convention is that legendary pokemon are the three dogs,regis,birds,celebi and jirachi. All other 'legendary' pokemon are considered to be Uber. [due to their ridiculous movepools or stat totals]

Thats why synchronize said he considers articuno,moltres and zapdos to be legendaries and not Ho-oh and Lugia...


Anyway,
For zapdos vs lugia, my bets on lugia.
154 base SpDef and 106 hp and recover would give any non-MS zapdos a problem. Furthermore, most lugia carry whirlwind and ice beam nowadays anyway.

Articuno is the coolest looking IMO, its just Zapdos is more useful. I did see a person use articuno with Forry quite effectively though. That's my next project.

p.s. I've never seen an Articuno tank like that, while doing 60% to Celebi with Ice Beam. O_O

Probably because most don't use Articuno for tanking (or use one at all). It's Sp Def stat is actually quite nice, IIRC.
