On a suggestion from a friend, I just recently got a chance to see the final episodes of Sonic X (Japanese version). Ok. At first, I was a bit skeptical about the whole series, but after seeing the last three episodes, I'll just say they are the best in the entire series. They definitely make up for any shortcomings the series might have had up until then.
I myself am going to try not to spoil anything, but I will say that they show sides of the characters that I was NOT expecting to see. The amount of emotion that is expressed is utterly amazing and at the same time heartbreaking. I dare anyone to watch the last three Japanese episodes for the first time and not cry.
Also the animation quality of the last three episodes is the best in the series. I was seriously impressed. Everything was done so smoothly compared to the previous episodes and there was very little recycled footage. Plus, there are some effects that will make your jaw drop.
As for the ending itself, I'll just say that the quality is up there with some of the great Anime series' to-date. In fact, about the only thing wrong with the ending is that it's a bit of a cliffhanger. Still, if this is the way it ends it was really well done.
I personally recommend these three episodes to anyone that can find them. Even if you don't like Sonic X, these three episodes are a must see.
Anyway, I'll leave this thread open to further discussion.
