This is weird , how come people in the pokemon world are sleepy when they hear this song? I'm not geting sleepy , any theory for that?

I suspect it's some kind of weird half-hypnosis that only works on people with a certain chemical in their brains. We aren't affected because we live in this world and haven't a need for that chemical, but in the Pokémon world there is something in the air that requires the secretion of that chemical in order for life to survive. The sleepiness is an unfortunate side-effect.

Simply, remember how Team Rocket once tried to record the song of Jigglypuff? That didn't work. Jigglypuff's song only make people asleep when it is heard directly. Because we all hear it through the speakers of the television, it isn't directly, thus we won't fall asleep.

The best advice I can give you is to sit down, grab some snacks, and enjoy the show and the Jigglypuff episodes for what they are. Looking for a scientific answer to the principles behind Jigglypuff's power in the context of the show is one thing, but wondering why it doesn't happen to you? Please...

Indeed, focus on larger problems, like how Team Rocket seems to survive all those crash landings, they should have been dead what? A thousand times?

This is fun, if you want to have fun for conspiracy theories (like me).

This is such a silly question.... Jupplypuff's song is called a lullaby. Lullabys are melodys that are used to put people to sleep, works especially well on children. Ever see a parent sing their child a song before they go to sleep? They are supposed to calm and sooth your body and mind, which eventually puts you to sleep because of the comfortable feeling you get listening to them... Of course, not just lullubys do this, other calming songs or songs that you like can put you to sleep, as long as it makes you comfortable. Jigglypuff's song puts people to sleep just like that, though I'm sure there is a magic to it as well thats only found in the relm of pokemon.

The reason why it doesn't affect you is because... well... Pokemon is an anime, and just like any anime, it tends to over exagerate many many things. Real people can't survive a hyper beam or a thunder bolt like that. Just like an entire city can't be put to sleep from one little song in reality.

Thats my reasoning anyway... feel free to think of a different one. ^_^

I know why we don't fall asleep.

If we were to fall asleep, the anime creators or whatever would go out of business because we wouldn't be able to watch the bits where Jigglypuff sings. XD

That was funny. I missed that Jigglypuff coming and singing. Why did they stop doing that for it would of made the series a little bit better.
