Well he is really 8 years old since the show premiered in 1999, but I don't know how old he is physically in the show.

I always do the math to find his age like every month. Kinda like a anual thing for me. Except it's every month XD Well from doing the math, he has to be at least like 56 or something. 16 when he starts driving test (if he even started at that age), plus the 38 times he said he failed in one of them early episodes (If it's a yearly thing) , plus 2 for the 2 episodes (that I can remember) in which he failed. TaDa!

Could it be that maybe his age wasn't mean to be specified, considering he's a cartoon? I mean, anthropomorphic sea creatures wearing clothes and living in pineapples, an Easter Island head, and under a rock? Oh yeah. Of course. There's no real way to tell how old he is cuz you don't know how things go in that world? Who says the Drivers Ed age is around 14? It could be like 25 or so there.

Though...Mr. Krabbs seems middle-aged, IMO. That's the only one that seems to show it definitely. And it doesn't seem like Spongebob is all THAT inferior to him, i.e. younger, so I'll guess early 30s? Though there's still no way of knowing.

Well, I'm going to be technical here:

Spongebob Squarepants is occasionally called 'kid' by some people, but he's been the member of the month for an estimate.. 33 months?! Some sponges can live up to around 120 years old, so Spongebob can still be a kid although he's already been through school and has old parents, so he could be an estimate 30 or more.

18-25. besides previously stated reasons, I think he said in one epi that either himself or Patrick went to high school prom with his mother. I don't remember the exact quote, anyone else do? XD Either way, that must mean he's 18+. he's just very naive, sheltered and geeky. I'm not a fan of the show at all (in fact, SB is very annoying IMO) but I have to say that the character's heart is always in the right place, despite everything. :P

Well, I always hesitate about Spongebob's age...I mean, he's supposed to act all childish and such, behave like a total weirdo at times, and in general, I just can't decide what his true age is. In fact, I never really bothered to find out anyway. But since we've got already plenty of hints that make him seem 17 [even though he still acts ridiculousy childish], I'll agree on that one.

I just read in Nick Magazine that is was revealed in an episode that on his imaginary driver's license, it said that Spongebob was born on July 14, 1986 which would make him 20. It also said that he lives on 124 Conch Street.

I used to watch the show when it first came on, but now I only occassionally watch it on break. Though we'll never know his age (someone said its' a cartoon...IE: fantasy land/world...doesn't really exist, so it doesn't have to play by the laws of nature), so eh. But if it did play by laws of nature, I'd say a horribly immature, nutjob 20-something. and it's not technically a house..it's a big pineapple.
