I don't know if there's already a FAQ for this, but I'm honestly too tired to look around.
I noticed someone edited my signature recently, saying that it was too large. I honestly wished he/she had PMed me or at least left some of the tags intact, so I didn't have to go through the code fixing it. Can we institute some kind of PM warning in the near future?

Most mods normally do i dont know why
Maybe you should just PM a mod insted of make a thread

No, because all members are responsible for their own sigs to make it fit within the limit. If we see a sig over the limit we edit it on the spot.

I agree with Arcanine, The only warning I got was from a close friend of mine cause the rules where just revamped when I made mine and she took the time to pm me ^^ Thanks gal =3
But after I read it I was glad to fix mine, the rules for the signatures arnt that hard to read or keep in your mind =/ If you dont have the time to read the rules of anything even down to the signature and whats related to "hentai" Then maybe it's best to let us know you where that way ahead of time.. In a way you where fairly responsable for your very own signature being that you are privlaged to have it as big as it is, and the coding isint really what makes the signature to long but it is the context within the codes that made it to many lines and one image to big ^^; Banner images have been given a set rule though since I was last around and now they are not alowed to get to big. However with other images it has and thats what you need to keep in your mind when making one.
Also be sure next time you make a signature to save or Make it from scratch on your hard drive , I've got 35 signatures from my many months here at pc and I swich from time to time ^^ This one here is a few months old that I forgot to post at christmas time X3..
It is not up to the mods to talk to people indavidualy for sevral reasons. But the main reason I would guess is undermanagment. And to write a short or long drawn our comment about your signature will do nothing but waist there time and have you do any of these sevral things>
Uncover who did it and flame them to the depths of Pc
Bring it up here and make a uneaded thread and also considerable warning issues
Repost it and have it taken down again resolting in simmular flames.
Or Revamp it and still knowing who did that to your signature and continue a grudge againced them =/
It's best when a signature is taken down, for the mod who did it to NOT post.
^^; Sevral times I find out when mine is to long it's most likely Kylie. But I dont press anything againced her and we are close friends o.o.
And this below is not ment to be a flame but something that whent threw my mind while posting the above information..
If you dont have the time to read a simple , small thread about how to make the right signature, why are you even here? And if you cant read it doesint that prove you have no time to deal with petty things such as making a thread about it o.o
Um... Cross out the petty........ ( only word I could think of at the moment and it sounds bad T_T sorry..
Again I meen no flames... But please Respect the forum and read the few rules we have ^^; at least where not as slave indused as seribi's

...Speaking ill of other forums is a way to boost the status of this one? =/
It's not a 'petty' thing; it is merely a suggestion for the sake of the user's comfort. At any rate, it's true you should've regarded the signature rules or at least confront its legibility, but people make mistakes. So as long as you keep this in mind for future references, surely no more problems will arise. ^_^;

:nods: =3 yeah ^^; Though the post I made above was quite harsh looking, I promis you I even ment if for your own future refrance... I once made a post like this when I started pc about dakota XD Worced thing I've ever done and it made me a bad rep person for a few months..
Most of the time I use the poorness of other forums to not only boots the love of this one, but show that though we have limits, we are very lucky and honored to have such a great staff =D They alow us to do so much and so little that we do can anger them.

We don't have to stoop that low as to raise PC's reputation; it has satisfying limitations, as you stated yourself.
No matter what the subject, be it signatures or avatars, all forums have different standards and we eventually come to appreciate them. I'll just leave it at that. ^_^

True, but many members overlook the limit and sometimes don't pay attention. I still think it would be common courtesy to PM us, so the majority of our tags will stay intact once we ourselves edit them. Or the authority could at least take the time to make sure of that themselves.

Maybe there should be a vote on it or something?

Or the authority could at least take the time to make sure of that themselves. If they over look it and don't pay attention then the sig gets edited. Then they know it's breaking the limit and should be looked into.
Sure it'd be nice for everyone to get a PM, read it and maybe edit their sig (it's happened, I'm not saying you wouldn't edit it but members have ignored the sig PMs back when we sent PMs). And I could say common courtesy for everyone to read the sig rules and go by them so we don't have to edit sigs. But it's not happening.
And as far as I know size and IMG tags are all that's removed. Meaning the image (or font size) is over the limit and shouldn't be added back unless the sig fits within the limit.
Maybe there should be a vote on it or something?Vote for what? Vote that Staff send PMs and not just edit it on the spot? How about NO. Because this is a Staff thing, not a member thing. We edit sigs on the spot, and it's that simple. No need for votes, no need for talks, that's how it is.
This way of keeping sigs inline has went on for almost a year (more then a year if you go back to the time before we sent PMs). It's not broke so no need for fix it.

Just remember that when you sign up, you agree to the rules, so you're expected to have read them ^_^

I don't know too many people that goes through the rules when they sign up for a forum.
Anyways, I thought a little common courtesy would just be part of the "community" that this is, which is why I asked.

...is it really that hard to read the rules? Whether you read them or not, you did agree to them when you joined. We used to send PMs, but that became too tedious as a lot of members just didn't care if their sig was too big. In the past they were asked to edit the sigs themselves, but that rarely ever happened. It's going to stay this way, it's simple and easy for everyone, if you don't know the sig rules, then I suggest you read this post. (http://pokecommunity.com/showpost.php?p=1781549&postcount=1)

while every member who's sig doesn't follow the rules won't get edited, reported or ones found by a staff member will usually get some sort of edit.. normally we leave in all what was there (change an img link to non-working, etc..) but sometimes if there is a lot of text it will be removed.
if you were edited, you should take that as a hint that your sig did not meet the rules and not as a personal attack. we only wanht to provide a fun and faster service for ALL members, and some of these over-sized sigs really hurt our slower users.
thanks.
