It wasn't done on an oekaki, it was done with REAL water colors on a real canvas! And I think it's my best yet

Another sketch update: I'm darkening and shading now; the primary sketch is done and all I need to do to make it seem relatively good-looking is somehow get rid of a lot of the eraser marks. But...I realized that I drew her a lot more full-bodied than she's usually done; not that it's a bad thing, I just don't want anyone to think that I don't know how to draw her. It was intentional; in exchange I promise my next sketch to be more conventional.

Well, I finished the sketch, but after it turned out nowhere near where I wanted it to, I made some realizations.

First of all, pencil sketching leaves more room for error than any other conventional medium. If this had been scanned into photoshop as an outline and colored it would have looked as professional as any other fanart, and, if I could use buster wolf as an example, simple ink sketches also look more exact and professional because they're more manga-style and never need to worry about value and shading. Pencil is in between the two more professional fanart mediums because it's the easiest to slip up with and all of your errors show immensely. You can tell that I can't draw a straight line worth anything and that my drawing pencils aren't worth the powder and lead to blow them away, and I don't have any high-end items like tortillions that help with shading...so it ends up not looking anime-ish, and since pencil is usually used for realism, it pretty much destroys the effect. So, when looking at this, bear in mind that I had the intent and ability to make it better, but not the means.

I also present two different sizes; the larger version, which I prefer, but will only link to because of size, and the smaller version, which shows less detail but stretches the page less.

Eh...definitely starting on another fanart soon, like I said, I promised the next one would be a more traditional version of Misty...and I'm going to beg one of my friends for a copy of his photoshop, or else I'm just going to practice using pen. I really need to make something on the level of quality that everyone else can...like I said, pencil is the worst medium possible.

I love the cosplay pic, though it does show just how ridiculous her outfit would look on someone in real life...but this girl, it makes her look good. I suppose it depends on just who's portraying her. Like I said, she looks incredibly nice. And the (custom?) Starmie plush...amazing.

I can see what you mean... I do agree as well than it is UNLIKELY for a romantic relationship- but from what I've seen from LOTS OF ANIME, is that it only starts like that- and only until later that when something dramatic happens to someone like lets say... Ash, someone like May- who seems to only be a good friend, actually has feelings toward Ash and try's to question their standing in the relationship triangle. Are you understanding what I mean? It's hard to phrase, but what I'm trying to say is that you may never know- that unlikely may later become a 'likely', though at the moment, people are speculating that in fact May really has a CRUSH on Drew... though it doesn't seem so by the way she acts around him... but that's my opinion right?

Chairman Kaga- A FANART FINALLY! yea!! ;) the shading is spectacular- the only thing now u need to practice is the body proportions. It's VERY HARD TO DO THE BODIES so for the first time... you did VERRY WELL. In fact, I now look back to my rough sketches and I'm beginning to feel horrible about that Misty drawing... I think it kinda sucked

BTW, Miyabic room has some very beautiful art of Misty :) I feel so envious of that skill. Oh, did u see that one pic of Ash behind pikachu HOLDING May? I'm back from class and have some free time. Did you guys read Mistywishmaker's fanfics? http://www.freewebs.com/halfxdestinyxmist It really re-defines what you think about the whole AshxMisty and MayXAsh relationship triangle. Though it is a FANfic, I truely think this is an exceptional piece of writing. Mistywishmaker really has talent on writing- especially when emulating the type of scripting from the show and spicing it up a bit If u read on the site, you'll notice I'm talking about Pokemon Xtreme- my rpg and the BIGGEST POKEMON PROJECT YET! It's nothing like the RPG's you'll see that are being hosted on this website, since it will use a NEW BATTLE SYSTEM- that's right, NEW, NEW NEW NEW!!! But, from what I have been requested for... I'm still gonna keep the option of using the old battle system... but I think ppl will be happy to know what i'm gonna be doing Especially the whole love triangle (which I believe will be finally sorted out) oh... and just to let you know. This will act as an alternative for an ending to the pokemon anime. SURE it won't really end until the real anime stops... but this will get u thinking and think deeper into the meaning behind Pokemon... I think thats enough of talking today... see you tommorro

BTW Kousetsu is so talened like Miyabic :) I sure wish that I can draw like that someday- and I need to study on the characters of Misty, Ash, and May more so that I can see a pattern of how they might look when older. For Ash, I got calm tranquil eyes, and Misty... well, NOW I'm using slightly larger eyes, but I'm still thinking that I should stay to the original a bit.

Well, I guess A-one is right :) Everyone here is good at Misty art with their particular styles of drawings. I personally like MWM's, A-one's, Chairman Kaga's, and buster_wolf's art particularily by their different artistic styles. MWM is usually looked up to because of her amazing skills at CG, and buster_wolf particularily on his amazing sketches.

BTW, Totakikay your fanfics are so interesting!!

Man, this board really has dryed out. Once being a fiery, outstanding board now has reverted back to being rusted and dryed up :( Come on ppls, let's do something fun. Supreme Edgeboy Max doesn't reply anymore here, and lot of members are leaving this board... So yea. In a few weeks I plan to post a fanart of all the members of the pokecommunity. It will be hard, but if I get all of your support I'll definitely take my time to make the big art piece. I will not leave anyone outside this time around. I'll try really hard to use everyone from this club (even the new guys! n_n).

I've gotten better at drawing again and I want to experiment with the skill by doing this for Pokecommunity. I'm not too sure whether it will be in color or not- but I hope I'll get the chance and time to do that part when I finish the whole- cleaned out sketch :D

I still see my analysis's and I can see that I have way more rounded and critically accurate views NOW then I did back then. So many members... now, lots of em are not even here. You're back!! Thanks for that info- now I have no reason to complain. You're new look is cool as well Supreme Edgeboy Max! I can understand exactly what you mean about those exams and such. Again I guess I wasn't clear; o_o I meant those who weren't participating even when they did reply... Well that's in da past. It's awesome that now more people (compared to yesterday) replied more often. Sadly, I'm also beginning to follow Silent Tattsu because indeed PC is dying- just look at it, it's pathetic. Yea, we have a few fans here and there, but I guess until some of us (like me) who release a Pokemon game that "blows people away" or that the show ACTUALLY STAYS ON TRACK and gets to some ending, Pokemon won't really be appreciated. Just imagine if pokemon was as emotional as Hikaru no Go was? It somehow pulled u in from the beginning to the end and became a masterpiece. I'm not saying that Pokemon can be like Hikaru no Go, since we all know the francise is meant for endless amounts of pokemon, but they can atleast do something different and have lots of plot twists to keep it going or even significant SAGA's (like One Piece's different arcs-- I'M TALKING ABOUT THE JAPANESE VERSION) instead of some mindless fillers. This is just my idea what would HAVE made Pokemon really good here, but hey! just talking about that, isn't getting anyone anywhere...

Ok. To answer Supreme Edgeboy Max's topic, Here's my answer:
There are 4 solutions:
1) I don't think that anyone will replace May as a new female cast on the show
2) If someone replaces May, it might be someone very similar to Misty- like I believe May was a particularly different side of Misty the artist wanted to have on the show, and produce some ... rivalry? Well, anyways, this new character might just be another aspect to Misty and perhaps add to the so-called love-triangle I believe is present in Ash's life
3) If not #2, This new female character might just be flirtatious... like... Blue perhaps- from the new Pokemon comics? When Misty and/or May would meet with her, they would get fired up (aka Jealousy ^_^) and that would not only make the anime funny, but also make the community want Misty back even more- so more shipping perhaps?
4) If not #3... Well, it might just be another innocent girl- almost identical to Ash's character. That way Ash would be good friends with her, and not stand in the way between Misty and/or May. (#3 is just an idea, I don't think this will ever happen)

All in all, I think regardless of any female character standing next to Ash in the next season, everyone will still want only one person back... MISTY!!!

I also think that if Misty will come bak, it has to be the old one; but what i wouldn't like is another female character. Why? Well, I don't want another person to stand in the way of Misty AND we have not seen whether May does indeed like Ash or not (we need to see a few more festivals and such to see what's the status of Ash and May's relationship). Heck, why not bring both Misty, May, and a new female character in the same season, only then do I think that it will truely be interesting with the 'new female character'

i agree. people here need to spice up there PC lives once again and give off that variety of expressions and ideas they used to have here on the "Misty return" club. i know i haven't visited much becuase this club and PC (in general) has become dry and listless as time passes by... i think this club should be nicknamed "The Official Misty AND Misty Fans (Bring Them [Us] Back) Club".

about number 1- please be careful on reminding people that if you missed anybody that you apologize and will add them to your image the next time you login to PC (i strongly suggest you use adobe photoshop and save it as a .psd file for easy changes).
about number 2- there are many people who are not in romantic relationships right now and there are some religions who may not believe in valentine's day, please be fair. spring is coming soon (hence my new signature :P) so try starting there, may you please Tkinc?
about number 3- that would be good! i want to see your fanart of misty, whether anytime soon will be fine. take your time.
about number 4- this sounds pretty interesting. a good topic to talk about!

Yeah, Totakikay and I are best friends (in real life that is) and so we see each other often- work on projects and etc. Though we go to different colleges, we still manage to keep in touch either through email or the phone :D

About #2 I believe Totakikay... well, I'll do something about March, but remember that when I said "sweethearts" I was only making it sound pretty, nothing more ^_^.

Well, I gtg. So much work and... I got a specially selected note today from da Military telling me to reply in 10 days or I am able to get severe punishment, either by a 250k fine and/or imprisonment I'm feeling really down and depressed. I would appreciate any of you who would give me some spirit to continue everything because I feel so depressed :( scared... and worried. Tkinc, don't worry yet...all American males have to register for the Selective Service within a month after they turn eighteen...as much as I didn't want to do it I had to, because, unfortunately, they can do all sorts of horrible things to you such as the ones you listed if you don't. It's not just because you have an arab-sounding name, so rest assured regarind that. I know it's angering to have nothing you can do about it...but, if worse should come to worse in the nest few years, there are plenty of ways to dodge the draft. Just, good luck and I hope you can feel better regarding this...

Oh, BTW, Mandy-chan, the URL u posted for that AMV, It looked really good, and it was very emotionally moving. I guess I must say that after seeing all those many scenes with the cute love both Ash and Misty have together, I have added a new aspect to my Story when they get older. About one thing, I wish there would be something about the relationship between May and Ash, regardless what position it'd be covering, so it can help me understand clearly the relationship between Ash and May easier. Darn. I need to get everything sorted out before the 'older' versions will appear, so that it would be easier to gain acceptance of how all of the characters will act when they get older. I can now picture Ash's self becoming more and more like Ryudo (from Grandia II) when he gets older... but that's right now... I'm still gonna have to analyze closer and get some interviews with MWM XD.

Why, hello you guys again; It's funny that I got positive replies on my hypothesis of the new female character thing :D Lol. Blue. That would be indeed funny, but like my hypothesis ALSO says, May might indeed have a secret crush on Ash, so this way we'd be able to see May's true feelings toward Ash as well. Now, the problem I'm having is this. If Ash himself thinks Blue is pretty, what would Brock think o_O, how'd he act toward her??

I don't know how you'd look in real life, so I'm trying my best to make u as pretty as possible- as I'm trying to do with the others XD.

I've only seen a few of ur fanarts, but from what I can see, you have a greater skill in pencil then i'll ever have.

You are right, Max, I think that Brock should get way more attention. In Pokemon Xtreme, that will also be fixed. Since not only will Brock provide you with great advice, but will fight alongside you, exposing your opponent's weaknesses, as well as making your pokemon strong and healthy :D

I can go on ranting for a long time about this, but I guess we all have to wait and see how I will put Pokemon Xtreme together.

A-one, You can scan A4 paper with a bigger scanner such as the Epson Stylus CX7800 or the 6600 series of the kind. I have no prob with my 5400 on A4... and the newer the printer, the more dpi it will support = better quality. You ARE talking about the A4 paper like this http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-paper.html right? Well, ya, it might be pretty small, but u can draw smaller to accommadate and scan a larger size XD. Just try it and see...

BTW, I did not forget CARINA. Look right next to Crystal Clair. Carina-chan is looking straight ahead with that high school clothing. I don't know why it's so hard to see the pic CLEARLY. I made it 700 pixes or so by 400-500. Just to make it easy to see and not to big for my post. Please look more carefully before posting next time

If Ash died, how would the show go on? - Erm... was the a little overboard o_O, but what do u think? Would the show automatically end, or would it be with the other friends, or (hehe..) everybody'd commit suicide >< j/k :P

lol. u are right LT247. But, its already sad that the anime is still going no where... I kinda like the idea that Ash would die saving someone or something, rather than continuing on an endless journey that never ends. I just wish pkmn had sagas to follow on like FMA or even One Piece (japanese) to keep it more intersting. I'm so pushed to finish Xtreme just to get that whole thing done and taken care of- since pkmn is nearly dead now... :(

BTW, u don't have a scanner neither? Well, use a camera! It always works too u know. Just make sure u use the zoom feature for a still life tipe of effect- believe me, it works :)

Hmmm...that seems a bit of a dreary way to end the series so they would continue it with another trainer(one we were briefly introduced to or a whole new one-I dunno I would love to see Drew's back story and stuff *brick'd*-) It is getting a tad repetitive for them to keep having the same story over and over :[, maybe a new story line would spice up things a bit :3...

I also agree that Mandy-chan is great at oekaki! It's funny how the replies are coming out... I'd have though that many of you'd say that the SHOW would end... yet, there are some who say a new trainer will take the place n_n. Very intersting... BTW, this new pokemon, SEBM, It was so obvious that their would be a pre-evolution- BTW- how come there are mainly pre-evolutions? Sure their are new evolutions for those who did not have any yet... but really, they need a stronger form for Ash's pikachu... rather than Raichu which is sooo slow. But, can't do much can we?? Lol. Totakikay, I'm not too sure that's true. They DID kill Kenshin after the anime went on long enough... so i'm not sure that will hold off the anime creators.... However, I must agree that the probability for something like this to happen in this TYPE of anime, is pretty slim- considering it was APPARENTELY made for kids.

Of course Misty would cry like there was no tommorro or even everybody would slit their wrists and/or perform human transmutation to bring bak Ash but he'd be a homunculus and Misty would have a right metal arm and left metal leg and would become the full metal pokemasterist, OHHH YEA!!

Mrs. Misty will just tell Ash to love her like the first day they met (in the first season, specifically). If they were to get married, Ash will still be happy and want the best of Misty ;)
