Well, one of the things I think are attractive about her is her personality. She's a really nice girl. She's smart, kind, lovely, and caring. Also, she has really beautiful eyes. Aquamarine is a really beautiful eye color for her. She has really great natural beauty inside and out.<3

Also, I think she has really beautiful hair. I think redheads are really beautiful. Red is also a rare hair color for a girl to have which I think makes it really great for a girl to have.

Well, after fully watching E3 '06 Live on Today's G4 Coverage, I decided to check up on you guys. No Fanarts from me today or any art for that matter- sorry :( Well, In my answer to MWM's topic, I think simply her personality and how she is inside that sooths me the most- sooths, not attracts, cause I respect those with bright personality's as well as others too... and also because Misty is a tidy bit too young for me- she's like my Older sister's personality and my younger sister's age---> Converts to a younger sibling that is undoubtly scary but kawaii :D Well, gotta get some sleep, but hope you guys get something else for us to talk about later...

X3 Yay for AG animation! We've got the Master Quest season in AG animation now, a few more episodes left til "Gotta Catch Ya' Later" is aired.

@Wishy: XD But the "puh-leaze" is a sign of lets say, quality westernification or good western adaptation. X3 Japan's a far way away, don't blame the American writers and animators.

@Super Max: =3 I'm not blaming the American animators. I'm just rather upset that PUSA is selling us a cheap copy of Pokemon. They just took all the voice actors and got rid of them because they want to cut back on the Pokemon dub budget, and will use replacements who are willing to do the job for low pay. They will also cheap out on voice recording equipment, so they're basically selling all of the fans a cheap copy of Pokemon. =\ But, it's good that in the preview they had Misty, like I said before.

Aww, Gotta Catch Ya Later is coming soon?? ;__; It'll be really sad, Super Max and A-one ;____; Try to hold your tears back ;) But, Misty will look very beautiful in the episode. :)

TAD! Haven't heard from you in forever; fancy us both deciding to duck in on our old haunt the same night.

I haven't watched an entire episode since the Togepi Festival episodes. Even Misty's last appearance in the anime wasn't enough to get me to sit through thirty minutes; I changed the channel after twenty or so after becoming disgusted with the fact that Misty had, from what I observed, been given Delia/Oak/Tracey once-per-arc-appearance status. In other words; she was there to be there and had no bearing on the plot of the episode whatsoever. In fact, Ash's reunion with pokemon such as Muk and Kingler were given more time and depth. Misty merely stood in the background, defensively clutching her Azurill with a saccharine smile and vacant stare for the entire episode.

Did you even see the episode after the one at Oaks place? Misty got a good role in it.

No; as I said, I changed the channel after twenty minutes. If Misty had a role in the episode I missed, I'm surprised. You would think that the writers would have stopped toying with us like this long ago. Maybe they've assumed that we lost hope seasons ago and believe that we take all token Misty episodes as nothing more than special guest appearances.

Well, that episode was mainly a chance to show every character that's ever been on the main team in one episode It also was a setup episode for Ash and May to get the FR/LG Pokedex, as well as Ash regetting his Phanpy and May getting her Squrtle. Besides, The Oak's Lab wasn't even a bad episode. Misty did her really cute wink in it.^_^ Plus, her Azrull got to fight a little bit and helped out in both episodes.

A bit character. That's all she is now, unfortunately. A bit character with only fond memories of the first two seasons to make her anything more than a vapid smiling head, the only difference than the one currently travelling with Ash being that she appears less frequently.

Yes, I realize that I sound bitter, and an Old Guard fan of the show. I am. I've given up hope on their being anything more than one decent episode per season, and even that, merely comparable with the first season of Johto. It's time for me to move on, truth be told. I'll keep my old DVD's and my copy of Pokemon Heroes, where she shows a modicum of character. Otherwise, aside from new games, I'm done. The show ended for my and GCYL, perhaps earlier.

May Misty's spirit live on forever.

Really, She's gotten way more delvelopment than May has.

I'm not disputing that she has been developed as a character, nor that she has been so far more than May. My contention is that any positive devlopment is far in the past, and that the recent devlopments have left her as an archetypical female support character. That is nothing I want to watch.

She's recently got some great delvelopment, in her specials and the Mirage Kingdom episodes. Plus, she's matured too. I wouldn't say it's been bad for her.

As painful as it is to admit, you make the very true point that Misty and May are indistinguishable from each other in their current forms, TAD. I suspect she's been stipped of her personality by the writers in order to kill any potential fanbase growth from people who began watching at AG and became curious about her after her bit parts. Sad, really.

And... I also agree with you about the Misty thing. I mean, how is it even POSSIBLE for a writer to dedicate an episode to a character and make such a meager role for her at the same time? O__o;; It's amazing what those writers are doing.

And I also agree that Misty has more developments than May. Misty's change is at least actually visible, while May is still rather 'girly' and 'spunky' like the beginning of the AG arc.

Wow, this is good. You guys are back and steaming with passion for Misty ^__^. Sadly, again, I have nothing to give/show. I promised an update on the Group CG but it's not even touched yet :( and That CG for MWM (oops I gave it away) I'm not done with the layout design; and hence the drawing stage hasn't started yet. So much of work and I'm getting so fired up to work on Pokemon Xtreme: Misty's Edition, but... Even that is not touched yet...

Besides my progress, I think it's time to ATLEAST comment on what everyone said so far

@ML17: Your back with some very nice, rare pics to show us :D I also see the quality of that official Misty and Ash pic, one of the rarest instances around where, I do agree, they match each other's ages. However, you must realize that anime versions of games/manga usually aren't created by the same artists, and so it is understandable that the characters looks might not turn out what you'd expect.

@MWM: Long time since I<-- have seen you talk so much on Pokecommunity ^__^ This is good. Good luck with your finals ok? Also, this artwork Max is talking about... hmm... since it does belong to you(?) PM me it :D

On the other hand, I can easily find time to work on art. I have this incredible ability to make myself sick and have a few days off. I also draw at school and during class and before I go to bed so I'm really drawing often! Especially since I learned how to use my scanner!

I honestly think her mother is been living away from the gym, perhaps at a family vacation house in the country where she needed tranquility from the city-ness of Cerulean city (although in the first episode we see in Cerulean, it seems more like a surburban town)
I think her father is doing something special too. Perhaps being a water Pokemon master or living at some sort of water worship palace.
It's interesting.... I just hope some cousin of Misty's comes to be a gym leader and she can go with Ash again.

I'm fairly certain that both Misty's parents are dead. The anime scans a rather long period of time, much to long for any competant parent to just leave her children alone at a Pokemon Gym. Besides, it's obvious that the girls are attempting to make money to support themselves.

Her personality is very normal, like a person would actually have in real life. She doesn't have a specific goal, just to do something eventually (to show her sisters she's powerful). She's also very idolistic and intellegent.

IMO Misty has a much better personality than May: although Misty is the youngest in her family, she does show her true powers to her elder sisters while she also shows that she loves and cares for them. I really dislike (not hate) May's attitude towards Max and then apologize after Max helped her out etc. etc... I mean, I'd get real pissed off if my elder sis treats me like that...

The first one took me two whole days. I wanted to add a background but I couldn't figure out how to do rain in Paint Shop pro 9 and I'm feeling a little unlucky with backgrounds lately. This picture is based on the crappy weather we've been having here and the huge puddle-jumping fest I went on. From the rainy weather, half my backyard is a foot underwater.... so I waded in it. Misty would be proud.

Hello guys, it looks like you decided on another topic when I was gone :P So many good pics by everyone, I am overjoyed by the effort of this club. Next week I am leaving for Michigan for 2 weeks. I will be inactive during those days (like that ever matters >_>). I am deciding on trying to finish a B&W sketch of everyone from Pokecommunity's Misty's Fan Club (Many of you oldies know what I'm talking about), so be prepared- it will be good ^___^. My art skill is slightly improving, so you might notice differences in skill levels with some of the people who are represented from here. Since Young Anime/Mangalover247 started a new topic, I must by respectful and submit my perspective. I think Ash's Dad might really be good looking (since many people believe that good looks from females come from their dads...) and the mom looking great herself. Misty's Mom probably has Red Hair and her dad has Blue. This could seem evident since Misty's sisters have interesting hair colors, some of which wouldn't make sense if one or the other parent doesn't have that odd color first (example: Blue). Misty's dad probably had short straight/curly hair while Misty's Mom had straight long red hair (so pretty). I'm not sure of the descriptions myself, but I will add this as an addition to the Pokemon Xtreme Demo. Stay with me. I will do my best to get atleast 20% of the demo done for you guys by this summer.

That's right I'm going away for 2 weeks. Sadly, even after the projects I finished for many people I couldn't do the most emotionally important one: The group pic. I saw, just today a game called Pokemon RSE Legends and the graphics improvements are good, but it feels more Megamanish... Maybe its just me. I'm gonna see if I can make some sprites for Pokemon Xtreme this summer. I will probably do some ripping from Kingdom Hearts: Chains of Memories and spiff it up ALOT (in shading and all) to create Kasumi and Satoshi sprites. However, I want to make sure it looks like Pokemon and feels like it too. It's gonna be a while of sitting in my room and planning a couple of days on what makes pokemon GBC/GBA games what they are... this will allow me to make Xtreme better. But yeah, that's enough of my ranting for this month.

I really liked all the pictures you have done. If I have the time tonight, I will do a special drawing of misty for you all. Otherwise, I will upload an old Misty drawing I have in my artbook for you all. It may not be that good, but at least it's Misty/Kasumi!

Actually, I think Ash really cares about Misty and I bet he loves her too.
In GCYL, when Misty finds out she has to go back home and has to leave Ash and her opportunity to travel, Ash says how it's only until her sisters return and how she finally got her bike back. He's really happy when saying it, because he wants to show Misty that it isn't a big deal she has to go, and that before she knows it, she'll be back. I stated it much better a while back but I cant quite find the words right now.

But to sum it up, Ash knew that if they didn't make a big deal about their separation, Misty wouldn't be as upset. Instead she'd look at the separation in a good way. She'd finally get to take a break at the gym and enjoy being a gymleader.
You just need to approach Ash's reaction from another end. He's not always oblivious. Maybe Ash has a different way of showing love.

I'm going to Pennsylvania this weekend! Finally a vacation from the suburbs!
The reason I brought up Pennsylvania is because whenever I'm there, I could truly picture Misty living in PA with her mom and her sisters in a quiet little cabin. I could just imagine Misty being really good at water sports like jet-skiing and fishing.
It's usually when I'm up there I get inspired to write Misty fanfics (usually oneshot ones). In fact last year, I wrote a funny fic about Misty and Ash driving through New Jersey and Ash being hungry. Misty would probably get road rage during slowdowns in the road and Ash would doze off sometimes.
And when it would be Ash's turn to drive, he'd go down the wrong road, claiming he knew this area like his name. Then they end up somewhere by the border of New Jersey and New York
I'll provide visuals of what I'm saying, since some people who come here are from Australia and England.

btw the main reason I went out today was because my mom took me out to eat MY FIRST EVER SUSHI! I had two kinds: one was tuna wrapped in rice in seaweed with some avacado on the top. The other one was crab (delicious) with rice and seeds on the outside. It was really good too! I just wish I took a picture.
I still didn't finish that diagram.... but since a lot of people know what New Jersey looks like, I'm in less of a rush.
I think it's kinda overdone whenever people draw Misty in a Japanese schoolgirl outfit and talk about her living in Japan when she looks sooo American! I think the Pokemon region may actually take place in the New Jersey area because when I drive through the country, it looks exactly like it does in the show. I swear, when I saw Viridian city, it looked so much like the towns that are dotted through the countryside.
