The trailer with that grown up Misty was completely unrelevant to the anime series. The creator simply used Misty's character to be in the advertisement for the First Movie (which makes sense, because it was obvious that the creator was looking for a 'cute' concept on which to place the ad, therefore they used Misty, the main female character of the group at the time.) It simply was a little mini film to show Pikachu and advertise Pokemon. XD

I love this serie too. I have new topic: What Manga and anime would be Misty's favourites? And why?
Maybe Kodomo no Omocha and Full Moon wo Sagashite :) Because main characters of these two series (Sana and Akito, Mitsuki and Takuto) don't tell each other about their true feelings and they don't understand their love at the beginng. Their relationships are the same as Misty's and Ash's.

I say Misty's favorite manga/anime would be Ranma 1/2, because Misty is almost like Akane in every way, and Ash is like Ash in everyway. Misty is tomboy-ish, stubborn, hard-headed, and guys like her sometimes, but Ranma is too thick-headed to confess to her even though he gets jealous like Ash. :P

Replying to the topic, Misty's return must be spectacular, with a bang literally! Ash should be in trouble and Misty should unleash her Psy/Golduck and take care of that disaster, or perhaps unleash something like Waillord and, on top of it barge into everyone with it along side her wonderful... sinister smile :D Now, that would be dramatic. The end of the episode should like other's have agreed meaningful, and there should be evidence that she will not leave but stay. Though this idea is so absurd that it probably can never see the light of day, at least its a funny way to introduce Misty and infact KEEP HER IN THE SHOW :P

I don't think that the new Pearl girl will be travelling with Ash. The chance is so slim that I wouldn't worry about it ;) But, Ash will probably still travel with May. No matter how MUCH MUCH MUCH I would like for Misty to travel with him again, just go meet the writers and tell them to put Misty back in the show. Misty's probably only due for short periods of travelling, with a few special episodes here and there, no matter HOW MUCH I want her back. Trust me, I'd trade in valuables just to have Misty travelling with Ash again, but... it's unlikely. But, I suppose there's still hope. That's why we have a "Misty 'Bring her back' club," ne?

Yeah, I agree. Sorry about before when I didn't believe that Pearl was really going to be in the season >__>;; I got my facts straight, and I don't believe even Ash will be in it either. It's gonna be a whole new fresh start, with Hikari as she makes new companions, and she'll be the main character.

I just HOPE HOPE that they show Misty before the Ash generation ends. And I hope it shows Ash and Misty grown up, married XD

Why do you believe they'll clean the slate? It's just extremely hard for me to believe. I remember this speculation happened a while ago when Houen was about to begin, but nothing happened except Misty left.
On a better note, I'm finally getting started on a project that I've postponed for about a year because I couldn't think of the right person to do it on.
You know kiss dolls? They're the digital "paper" dolls that you can find on sites throughout the internet. Well I decided I'm going to make my own kiss doll of Misty. I'm going to provide many of her outfits (as many as I can fit), including her normal outfit, her AG outfit, her Luvdisc special outfit and her grown up outfit from that old trailer.
Here's the pose. I drew it myself in mspaint and will do all of the drawing in this project in mspaint. I'm doing all the lineart Misty's clothes now. I'll color them some other time.

A new Pokemon series, called Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (same as the games), will air in Japan this Fall. The series will feature the female character from the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl games as the main character in the series.

Everyone says that is isn't possible for the writer to remove Ash, just because he's the main character. I'd agree, if I hadn't read an interview Tajiri-sensei had somewhere in which he stated something about a "fresh start." From how I see things, he wants to start with a new group, new plot, new villians.

Finally, the log on worked this time! I wanted to see what's been going on in this forum for so long but all the time bad luck hits me- and Pokecommunity goes down for a while (*sigh* I should have anticipated this sooner). Well, now that I'm back (probably because now I'm actually finding more time in some places, I'll go right ahead and catch up to what's going on.

A new season of Pokemon? I better go check on that. I feel though, that I shouldn't bother with the anime any more because Misty is not coming back (other wise I'll definitely continue watching ^^). I've been continually saying it over and over again that we need to find something, our own alternative at the best, to put Pokemon at a good, happy rest? I believe one way is with an inticing game. You could do so also with writing, and other methods? Anyone with me on this (I better hope so ^__^).

@MWM: The song from the anime that fit Misty the most was (obviously) Misty's Song. Other than that, I'd say the ending song to the First/Second Movie (can't even remember the name of it- pathetic O__O). Some of Sowelu's tracks are about as meaningful too and fit her well also.

Serebiiforums I must admit, I haven't ventured, but I had already anticipated the outcome before. Crazy May Fans. I usually don't have much problem with them, but when they try to put her totally over Misty that's wrong, especially since in an un-biased view, Misty contributed to the shows success a lot! Ha!

The "game" pic from Miyabic is a hacked version of the Pokemon GBA games, with so much manipulation (rather good ones at that ^__^) to the sprites that it produces a look from actual gameplay (or simply a nice setting =P).

Oh, and MWM, I wholeheartedly agree too - Misty looks purely beautiful in Gotta Catch Ya Later! It makes me almost cry when I realize that this probably was the artist's way of saying that Misty might never come back, proving why so much dedication to Misty in those special episodes. *cries*

... I just realized that MWM thought the same nostalgic song as I thought fitted Misty too ^__^. It's funny how many of us have so much similarity when we discuss about Misty here. It's heart-fullfilling and beautiful!

Examples: Smart, nice, cute, etc. ==> I believe after enough of observing the episodes with Misty, you can probably tell that she likes someone with a sense of Justice and one who really loves Pokemon. When Ash took her bike, she witnessed Ash's love for his Pikachu- He risked his life for it. This seemed like it was the major distinguishing aspect that attracted Misty- because she saw a very high amount of respect for his character, but seeing he is a guy, she felt a tremendous infatuation. She wanted to know more about him, so she followed him. Later do we realize, that this curiosity brought them close, more so as best of friends ^___^. Ash doesn't see anyone as much as an importance than his original friends- Brock, and Misty.

@A-one: Pic is pretty cool. Since you aren't showing too much of "skin" it's alright.

@A-one: Drawing Misty isn't that difficult really. What I was referring to is that Misty will probably not make any type of return until the artists finally realize her importance to Pokemon's remaining success :P.

Oh, I got something for you that you'll like. Like MWM, I got bored doing nothing "big", so I decided to give MS Paint a try with whatever skill I have and then add cool text layers with Adobe Photoshop CS2.

What do you guys think of this? I started yesterday evening and finished "cleaning" and refining it today. I hope to make a couple (2-3) more Kasumi CGs on either Paint or Photoshop or both :P. Well, I hope this was a good contribution. Note: BTW, I was planning to draw her new clothes scheme from my game, but I guess our of sheer laziness I kept her originals which, heck, is still absolutely beautiful.

I hope you guys enjoy the Summer 2006 we have left. What is going on? Last summer was much more lively? When did everyone get so busy lol? :D New topic anyone? Or, atleast transition MWM's to something funny *looks around* :D

YAAAAY! Buster wolf, you're here! *gives him a seat* Now lets see if we can make some fun here like we did last year. How about we start ummm, a story perhaps.

Here I start:

Narrator: It's been 3 years since Ash Ketchum, and his party disparted towards there separte goals. We are now in Cerulean City. Ash and Pikachu have just made it back after a ferocious battle. Oh, the beauty of Summer sweat. Ash has found his way to the lively beach.

Ash: Pikachu, it's been a while hasn't it. Cerulean is atleast as beautiful as always. Let's go take some rest.

Pikachu (yes, it can talk now in the "Xtreme" world): It's reallly hot. Let's go near the ocean. Maybe we can get some training... (or fun hehe)

Ash: We can worry about the training later. Let's just have some fun.

Ash walks along the shore of the beach until suddenly he hears a voice and Pikachu's ears wobble.

Pikachu: ...

Ash: who could that...

right when he turns around Ash spots an unbelievable thing! It's...

Misty: Ash... your... back!!!

Misty quickly runs and gives Ash a hug. Ash blushes in delight of seeing his BEST friend again.

Misty: Ash, you sure have changed. You finally grew!

Ash: Thanks... ^___^ You look different too...

Ash blushes and suddenly looks at his right side. Pikachu looks at him in dismay

Pikachu (to himself): Why is he looking the other way. Idiot =P

Misty: Let's go have some fun! Come on [grabs Ash's hand]! Theres so much I need to show you!!!

Want to add? Remember, when the gang get older in this saga, they become slightly more serious and mature. Ash is more taller now and packs some muscle now (though he's not really "buff") And Ash has now tought Pikachu to talk! Oh, Haruka/May, Max, and Brock are out doing there own thing. Brock though, is still with May and Max and teaching them a few things. You can make them meet up here. But remember. It's been 3 YEARS

Pikachu: I don't even try second guessing, it just comes naturally.

Ash: Grr...

Misty: *giggles* Hehe, you two really are close. It's been too long! I think you grown so much. You used to be this short twerp!

Ash: Hey! Stop using that wicked Team Rocket Term. Anyway, it's called a growth spurt.

Misty: Yeah, you're a lot taller than before! You also look a lot less dorky than before.

Ash: Hey!

Misty: That was a compliment!

Ash: What kind of compliment is that!? Well, at least you look...

Pikachu: Smoking hot?

Ash: *smacks Pikachu*

Pikachu: *retaliate with a thunder shock*

Ash: *fried*

Ash: (turns a bit serious) Misty... I can't believe it's been so long. Just a while back, I remember us being together, finding new pokemon together, and even beating a couple of leagues.

Misty: (camera zooms at her mouth) Yeah... I miss those days. (Suddenty the camera shifts back to neutral). But enough of that, aren't we here to have fun?

Ash: Of course. If Pikachu would just stop shocking me >___>

Pikachu: Well, you desirved it. Don't look down on me or you might get shocked again.

Ash: Come on Pikachu, stop acting so sour.

Pikachu zaps Ash again.

Ash: Pikachu, you know that won't work. I'm now used to your shocks.

Pikachu: Oh really? (Pikachu aims perfectly at a circle of water. Ash gets shocked but so does Misty)

Pikachu: Oops...

Misty: Pikachu!! Well atleast it was an accident.

Ash: Sure it was!

Misty: Haha! Oh! Almost forgot. There's something special I want to give you. (hands over a wierd seashell

Ash: It's a seashell!Woah it's so shiny!

Misty: Yup! (Misty blushes).

Suddenly...

Ash: (Water splashes on him) HEY! what was that for?

Misty: What else? To get you wet!

Ash: Oh yeah! (Ash splashes water at Misty) take that

Misty: (giggles) Ash! (takes our Starmie) Water Pulse!

Ash and Pikachu get drenched

Ash: That's unfair!!

Pikachu: Yeah!!

Suddenly everything goes funny, and without a thought, the wierdest pokemon "battle" takes place

Ash: (exchanges for squirtle) Hydro Pump!

Misty: Hmmm... (gets blasted with cold H2O) Oh, you wanna play that game? Waillord!!

Ash and Pikachu look up in shock.

Ash to Pikachu: This doesn't look good...

Misty: Dive!!!

The power is so intense it is about to blast Ash away. Suddenly something wierd happens. A barrier appears and some of the water gets repelled... Ash still flys

(On the Ground)Ash: Woah, you almost made me fly right out of Cerulean!!

Misty is baffled...

Misty: What was that?

Ash: Reflect...

Misty: But who?

Pikachu points to Ash

Misty: ? What? Ash, you made that Reflect?

Ash: ... uh... yeah.. the thing is, lots of things changed these three years... but, that doesn't matter. I'm gonna splash you!

Water is exchanged between Misty, Ash, and Pikachu. Suddenly the oddest thing happens...

Smoke bomb.

Ash and Misty: Who was that?

Pikachu: (Points) it was from there.

Both look, nothing to see

Suddenly...

Voices: Prepare for trouble and make it double...

Ash: No... it can't be...

Voices: to protect the world from devistation, to unite the...

Pikachu zaps at a random area

Voices: OW! What was that for a reunion?

Misty: Team Rocket!

Jessy and James: Yup, it's us again, but this time we aren't here to steal your pikachu.

Ash: Then what are you here for?

Jessy and James: well... we just wanted to revisit Cerulean and take a swim here!

Ash and Misty: Then why did you attack us!

Jessy and James: Attack? More like an extravagent entrance!

Pikachu zaps them.

Pikachu: that serves you right.

Jessy and James: (astonished) Pikachu? You can now talk? I though all you could do was say "Pikapii" and "Pikachu" (Gets zapped again)

Pikachu: that was the past >__>. Hmm... where's Meowth?

Ash: Yeah where is Meowth?

Misty: Wow Pikachu, you are a very sharp analyst!

Pikachu: thanks.

Jessy and James: He disappeared 2 years ago. He was kidnapped by some wierd people in black cloaks. (Looks at the ground in sorrow) We haven't seen him since.

Ash: Well, I hope he's alright, though, no matter how bad him and you guys were.

Jessy and James: Thanks. Wow. You have grown since we last saw you. You're not a twirp anymore? Or maybe...

Ash: Shut up! I'm older, and now I'm mature.

Jessy and James: Well, I guess we can give you some credit for that

(Knock, Knock) Hi, permission to join your group? See, I get annoyed that Misty is considered a background character by some rabid fans. I would like to join your group since I like Misty and I am kind of ticked with the fans who say some pretty bad stuff or say stuff like "Togepi killed Misty's character" or "Misty left because she was useless in Johto" or "she doesn't have any potential" or any of that. Anyways, I think she was playable in "Pokemon Puzzle League" though I don't know if that counts or not. She gave the idea of how to escape the St. Anne (when sunk). I think she participated in a pokemon contest of sorts (the Princess Festival tournaments.). She stopped an entire Tentacool and Tentacruel invasion when no one else could by simply apologizing and convincing them to go. I think that she commanded 4 pokemon that she didn't own in the Misty Mermaid. She was able to tame a Gyarados in one day (at least thats what I heard about one of the Chronicles.). And all kinds of stuff that was absolutely extraordinary. Also, I hope you aren't mad if I tell you that I don't watch the current pokemon episodes or movies. see i kind of stopped watching it Mid-Johto when Kids WB started advertising this certain character special thing of singing which I couldn't bear to watch since I hate characters breaking out into song (for those of you who don't know, it was "socka party".) but if your clubs already full, I'll understand. Also, just in case I do end up joining, can i have a gyarados?

Her first outfit was simple, classic and looked really good on her. It also fit her tomboyness.

But about the line Ash makes about Misty in Wish Maker, as well as the song that appears and flashbacks of her and Ash in Gotta Catch Ya Later from what I heard (not to mention the AAML hints) ... Weren't those added by 4kids? I really hope that at the end of Hoenn and Battle Frontier (which is technically in Hoenn.) Misty rejoins the group. I'd hope that she might actually be having a goal in mind when she does return. The Japanese must care about the Americans needs as well as the Japanese needs, I mean Brock left in the Orange Islands arc and Japan brought him back for Johto for American appeal (I think.). I get the feeling that even though Ash is retraveling Kanto with company, they're still in hoenn sort of since I think it has to do with the Battle Frontier that if I remember correctly in Pokemon Emerald it was stationed in Hoenn. ([off topic] and before you say games =/= anime, I just want to say that if they truly weren't correlating with each other, then the only similarity between them are the name of the franchise. yes there are some differences, but the plot overall is somewhat the same.)

The Battle Frontier is purely in Kanto, I believe. The writers do care somewhat about its American audience, but more about how to get more viewers from the Japanese audience. Hence, we have a new series started (the Diamond & Pearl series) to attract more female viewers. But, you know... I think bringing Misty back would definetly bring on a LOT more hits for Pokemon xD

You know, in the Princess vs Princess episode, Misty, along with Jessie were very very lucky that they didn't act like all those other girls at that festival. I mean, not that I mean to character bash, but some people outside the web (well, actually one) said that almost all of the girls in the festival were sqealing and whining like animals and that she didn't like how the creators portrayed the women (Misty and Jessie, fortunately didn't act like that.). no offense. anyways back on topic... I wish for her to return, and that they give back her personality in season 1 (only more mature [I mean in her mental age not her being dark.].). Also, I personally doubt that Togepi had anything to do with her sapped character in later seasons. the only way that a baby pokemon could sap her characters life is if a Metroid (even though it isn't really a pokemon) came from the egg and sucked all of her life energy. Anyways, another thing, if the japanese don't really care about bringing old characters, then why did they revive Brock in Johto? I surely hope that they bring her back after battle frontier. I do have a theory about her though... but it will wait.

P.S. what does character bashing reffer to? is it to main Characters, or all people in the Pokemon Anime, regardless if they are backgrounds, fillers or mains.

I agree. Misty's personality in the first series was irreplaceable. She was strong, cute, and funny. Her strong personality sided with her cute fear of bugs, as well her agressiveness towards Ash was the ideal character. <3

@weedle_mchairybug : I plan to add you in the group pic but I don't know if you are a guy or a girl. Whould you mind telling me? Oh, and your opinions are very sharp, but you seem to forget something, Brock and Misty are two DIFFERENT characters. To make the situation emotional and all, they made Brock leave. But it was only so that people will not go crazy when Misty leaves. They brough Brock back because they believed that people would complain like crazy because it wouldn't feel much like "Pokemon" without atleast one of the original cast being with Ash. Also, fans liked Brocks crazy uncontrollable love gestures and the artist's probably thought they could significantly make it work with the *new* cast. Unfortunately, because they didn't bring Misty back in Advanced Generation fans started complaining XD. From then, we can all see how this havoc took its place in Pokemon. For example. Misty had Many special episodes, and they planned this whole 3-episode thing to shut people up more. Sometimes Misty even appeared sometimes in the *normal* episodes. To probably prevent the watchers from becoming too attached to Misty again, they probably changed her personality, because knowing Misty well, she would have argued what Ash was doing with May and PROBABLY become emotional towards Ash again. But NOO that didn't happen. All because the artist's were too stubborn to fix their BIG Mistake, taking Misty off the cast permanentely. Heck, if they cared about keeping a fair number of main characters, why did they NEED to add Max. I love Max, but still, for MISTY? Why not add her? five would work too, and it doesn't matter HOW she joins the party, she just should! >___> but like I said. They are far to arrogant.

Also, I am aware that Misty and Brock are different characters. But they could still issue a poll in the USA like they did with Tracey and Brock (Ok, so technically 4Kids might have issued that poll.), But nooo. They just had to assume that the majority of us fans liked the unmentionable M more than Misty. Also, they made Brock leave for emotional purposes?! Strange, I thought that they make Brock leave because of 4kids suggesting it or something. Also, sorry if I broke rules in this club with this post (you know, the no comparing "Misty with, umm, you know, the unmentionable M" one.) I was trying to make a point.

THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE MISTY. SHE IS IRREPLACABLE, NOT BY MAY, MAX, BROCK OR EVEN ASH. Of course, there MAY be more Ash fans than Misty fans, but there are more ASH AND MISTY fans than MAY & BROCK. WHY ADD THOSE TWO? May's plainly a failure Misty replacer, and Max is just an extra.

Of course, with the new Diamond & Pearl series upcoming, I will have no complains, since if NONE of the original characters are in there, it is only fair to Misty. On the other hand, she didn't appear in AG, so she should have a place. However, if May or Max appear I swear I am gonna boil. Like what the heck?! The appear as main characters in AG, and as if that was not enough, May dared to gaze into Ash's eyes in a movie! HOW DARE SHE?! If they put Drew in the DP series it's fine with me, because Contestshipping rocks, but I hate the chances of Advanced Shipping. It is simply a Mary-Sue pairing of AS.

I agree 100 percent. Plus then I cant get back at Cybercubed. I have a huge comeback planned if May leaves. I saved all his "sorry, May's staying" quotes and if necessary, I'll use them against him like when officer Jenny said, "Whatever you say now may and will be used against you." or something similar to that
Oh, I was looking through my Misty pics when I realized that as the series went on, the less nice she looked..... mainly the animation though. So I took one of Misty's worst pics and made it perfect

On top we have dull gray Misty with tall eyes spaced too far apart and a freakishly wide face.
Tada! Misty now has the color restored (although a bit too bright), her face is back to it's classic beauty and she looks just like her old self.... in fact I bet I could trick someone by saying this screen was taken during the Indigo league.

They brough Brock back because they believed that people would complain like crazy because it wouldn't feel much like "Pokemon" without atleast one of the original cast being with Ash.

xD Sorta true, but the main reason was for the American audience. Also, the writers found it hard for the plot to make any sense at all if Brock wasn't there. What happens when you don't have the sixteen year old dude who cooks, carries the sleeping bags, and carries the food follow around a bunch of ten year olds? The story doesn't make sense without Brock.

I'm not comparing anyone to anyone else. I'm just... contrasting their roles. I'm just gonna say that it's unfair how Misty always lacked a large role in movies. I've ALWAYS wanted Misty to be like... the 'chosen one' or whatever. The one who 'unlocks' something secret or whatever. But it never happened. And for that, I'm truly disappointed.

Oh, I didn't draw them. XD I took an existing screenshot, edited it to make it better and enhanced the color.
Since it was so easy, I'm gonna do more. And that screencap was from Beauty is Skin Deep..... or was it Why Wynaut. It was one of Clair's episodes though.

@MWM: Thanks for the comments on DA. Lol. Very nice comments about Brock's importance as to the American audience, but really, Misty also had her large role as being Ash's comfort and keeping an airly light feeling of "love" and hope into the series. As you can see, it doesn't feel right without Misty anymore. I would understand if Misty left FOR A WHILE like Brock with Tracy, but Misty never coming back was just plain terrible

And MistyWishMaker, in reply to what you said earlier about what character bashing is: I'm aware that character bashing is basically saying negative stuff of the characters, but the point of my question was which specific characters shouldn't be bashed. As in, Main Characters, Filler Characters, Background Characters, All of the above. See, just saying characters doesn't cut it since I need specifics.

I really hope Misty returns, she really needs to. she is basically one of the very few female main characters in the anime that is not the typical stereotype of a girl (stereotype of girls as in, whiny, sugary, squealing kinds.), no offense to those people who like them. Just saying...
