man, pokemon stopped again here in "the place where I live". I'm very angry right now and just started term so double angry. anyway, I was just wondering how the RP works, and I'm sorry for not posting more frequently but, I'm a busy guy, I'm so busy I could be a bee.

anyway, Misty is awesome, but May isn't too bad, is she? I mean, of course Misty would be better because she has a more colourful(notice I spelt color colour meaning I probably don't live in America (do you Americans spell colour color?))character, and she has been on for longer. But for May there is a different way of describing her character. while Misty's character is more...(you guys know, you're in this club right?) but May's character seems a being more flowing to me for some reason, and while they are both cute, they do it in different ways (ignore what I just said if you can't understand it or do not agree with me or want to hurt me for some strange unknown reason)

now if Misty and May were in the show long term it would be awesome we would be able to observe the contrast between their characters and then laugh..

man, I don't feel like posting this anymore it doesn't have the feel I'm looking for, I don't know why...

YA! May is a character not worthy of being shown in pokemon! She is the cause why pokemon is declining in popularity! She can never be a substitute for Misty and she needs to get out of story soon! She is destroying the real pokemon story of battles! She only likes contests in which a pokemon can't show their skills as in battles! I don't like her!

Besides,in the rules that Tatts made, it says that if May's brought up, it can't be a compairson nor mentioning anything of her personally of what you think of her. Yeah, I'm so cruel to May whenever I'm watching AG...I can't go a couple minutes without insulting her or something...I remember the first time I saw her, I absolutely hated her...it was that picture with Ash, Brock, May, Prof. Birch, and Max together striking a pose with Mudkip, Treecko, and Torchic, the first ever pic of AG. The first thing I actually ever said about May (besides saying the picture was a hoax) was that someone needed to get her a steak and potatoes, and the insults have only gotten worse from there XP

Oh, I have very few issues with May in the games, because then she has whatever personality you want to give her. She can be anything from pathetic to badarse motorcycle rocker chick. In the show, she's only the former. Anyway, I hate to say it, but May looks somewhat cool in that pic.

hey contests do have battles, for you who said that it doesnt show anything important about a pokemon, and secondly thats what a contest is about, showing pokemon and their abilities... anyways, if all the character were battling them the battling itself woulb be boring, may is a new type of char, w/ a new type of journey, the writers are just trying to be original for the new season, and also what is the episode Gotta Catch 'Ya Later about, i odnt remember most of the episode titles...

Gotta Catch 'Ya Later is a great episode. It has a lot of great Pokeshipping moments. There's also a lot of great lines like.......

Misty: Will I ever see you again?
Ash:You will. I swear!

Of course, thats the part where they're looking into each others eyes without looking away. That part was really cute. :cool:

The part where she's looking down at the ground and crying is sad. :'( I wish I could give her a hug and cuddle her. That part is great though. It shows her feelings about Ash.

Other great part was the flashback. It had so many great moments from the entire series, like the Maiden's Peak scene. Also, the song that played during the seqence was great.

Yeah I think Gotta Catch Ya Later was a good episode. It was nice to see them all battling together like that , I do believe that was the first time all three of them battled together o.O It was a pretty sad episode actually , seeing them all part ways like that :disappoin

Kirby00, I remember your anti-Misty post and I knew that you would go in favour of Misty! And I don't like contests because tehy seem dull to me! There's no such big excitement there![that's what i think only!] and i have noticed that this club is turning itself into a emerald May fan club than a Misty fan club!This is going to be worse.

Now, adressing contests: The writers weren't trying to be original, they aere trying to show another aspect of R/S/E in the show, namely the contests. And to keep reminding us not to mention having a steady marketing tie-in, the devoted an entire character to them and nothing else. There's no creativity or originality involved in May's creation. Furthermore, contests are utter wastes of my time. If it wasn't for May, I'd expect Ash to be maybe two badges ahead of where he is in the dub right now. Personally, I live for the battles, they're a real experience for me. I stand up, yell, shout, cheer and scream when I see a good one. The Silver Conference was ungodly fun for me.

And on the subject of GCyL!, it's one of my favorite episodes, as I stated. It's sweet, funny, cute, sad. The whole deal wrapped into on package. One of the fw episodes where I cried. Still, my one issue is that Brock was not paid enough attention, I suppose because he comes back quite soon.

There's no way that this club could be turned into an Emerald May club...I appreciate your pro-Misty zeal but we're just getting off-topic for a little while...May does have a lot to do with Misty (her absence mainly -_-;; ) so I suppose we should be able to use this club to vent our anger over her. We were just commenting on how much better Emerald May looks than RS May, and we're done with it for the most part.

Anyway, I actually never saw Gotta Catch Ya Later...I quit watching about the time of the Whirl Cup sub-arc out of boredom and didn't watch again until the first episode of AG...I still watch AG, but not as regularly as I did out of a combination of not being at home a lot on saturday mornings and having an urge to turn the channel whenever I see May. If it's on today then that'd be great, I'd really like to see it although it'll be sad ;-;

I started to catch up when they started to put the episodes from Whirl Cup and beyond on weekdays. I've managed to see the battle against Gary and parts of the Pryce mini-arc, but not a lot of the others. Any of the ones with Larvitar I turn off too...for some reason it irks me beyond belief to hear them say larvaytar like they do...little things annoy me like that, there are some episodes I can't watch because of little things o_O

From the title, Better Eight than Never sounds like Ash vs. Clair...sounds like an interesting battle (though I don't see how Ash could beat a dragon-using gym leader)...I have a lot to catch up on I guess.

Somehow, Ash manages it. Charizard comes back and crushes Dragonair. And, yeah, most of the Larvitar episodes annoy me, except for Adress Unknown! That is the most screwed thing I have ever seen, including Yellow Submarine.

Anyway has anyone else besides me noticed that they seem to be turning Brock into Misty in some respects ? Mainly because so far the Pokemon he has caught are WATER types o.O Also am I the only one who thinks that Ash wouldn't have messed up his second Gym battle if Misty had been there ?

Yeah, I'm kind of annoyed at the fact that Brock, despite supposedly loving rock pokemon, doesn't have any right now =/ If Misty ever comes back, will they have her catch pokemon other than water types? I kind of hope not, that's what makes her special in some respects o_O There aren't many Hoenn rock pokemon though...I suppose I'd rather Brock have a Mudkip and a Lotad than a Nosepass, that thing has got to be one of the ugliest pokemon if not the ugliest.

[edit] *weeps* Gotta Catch Ya Later was the saddest pokemon episode ever ;_; But after seeing it, I must say I'm fully convinced that Misty will return for good. She was so emotional about leaving Ash that two episodes worth of being with her in Hoenn could never fulfill her. She has to go back to him; he completes her in a sense, from what I saw in that episode. It was so horrible to see her go...and every last minute of that episode was touching, even that strange scene with Ash using Brock's spoon and fork to escape that pitfall...Misty's last words on the show were enough to make me believe entirely in AAML AND in Misty's return: "I now know how I feel about Ash..." that might not be a direct quote, but it's close enough. Wow, I'm depressed now, that made me so sad ;_;

Well, I chose Jame for two main reasons. First,m I regard Team rocket as the most multi-dimensional characters, and I can't help but like someone who's so...flamboyant.

But this ain't the TR club, this is the Misty club. Anyway, I reemain assured that Misty will return. Firstly, it's logicalk in terms of the show, That, I believe, has already been explained. Secondly, let's take a brief look at another anime, Rurouni Kenshin: When Kenshin leaves in episode four of the Kyoto arc, Kaoru is devistated. Soon thereafter, her over-riding goal in life become to see Kenshin again. If you look at the series, it becomes obvious that Kenshin and Kaoru have a relationship similar to Ash and Misty's. So, it seems logical that she would again return in the context of human relationships as well.

I got WAVs I made from GCYL right here. This is the part after Misty rans out of the Pokemon Center. She's sounds really hurt. :( Racheal Lillis does a really great job showing emotion in this scene.

Also, I have the scene were she remembers the first time she met Ash. This part should bring back memories of the first two episodes.:cool: Also, notice the way Ash says " Oh yeah". Sounds like Ash didn't want Misty to leave.:cool:

Of course, I did rewatch Gotta Catch Ya Later yesterday. It was great watching it again. There are alot of parts that do get me, like the part where she's really sad about Ash not caring about them going their seperate ways. She just sounds so sad. :( Then there's the flashback. So many great times between Ash and Misty. And of course, the last time we see her. She goes and rides off into the sunset.

Sorry I haven't been here a while, but I was just looking at the petition and there have been 27 signatures (pretty good) but one person said "she makes good pornos" and a person corrected them, I'm not sure if that person is from this club, or not. Also, one person simply said "MISTY IS HOT!!!!!" And also someone wrote their name and left it blank. I find that rather rude, it is a petition. But it looks like we have a lot of good signatures escept for those. :)

Anyway, I got my pic done. It's not as good as I had hoped, it looked much better not colored. My scanner is unforgiving when it comes to inconsistencies in coloring and minor eraser marks which are still there a bit. Also, the facial structure is my downfall again, I can't seem to ever get it right. Anyone know of any how-to-draw-Misty lessons on the net? She's so hard to draw :'(

But if I'm wrong, and at the end of AG Misty isn't back, I'll likely denounce the pokemon anime and never have anything to do with it again...

Oh, I think we'd all instantly love May if Misty came back...I'd kind of like to see how they'd react to each other on an episode-to-episode basis...of course, May would still be the same, dull, generic little girl that I see her for now, but the annoyance of it would be quite a lot lessened. In fact, I almost think I'd like to see Misty and May in the same arc than for May to just disappear...one season with them both would be sufficient for me, and then I think it would be time for May to depart, and the original trio to be back together...

Max, I think will not be a Trainer for the forseeable future. Several reasons for this, actually:
1. He's intended to be a backup for Dexter, just as Brock used to be.
2. He's not of age. I'd estimate he's at LEAST three years too young.
3. I just don't think he would be able to effictively handle Pokemon.

As for May and Misty being together (on the show, you pervs!), I'd love it. It would be quite loveley to see, maybe we'd get something like Megumi and Kaoru's relationship on Rurouni Kenshin.

actually i read serebii's char bio on max and the only poke he ever gets is the poliwag from that school that he had to give back... i guess he will never be a poke trainer, *i also read that on the last episode of poke advanced may's torchic evolves to a combuskin* i only rememebered to ask the ? b/c on the WB today's episode was when they had to keep the Torchic from escaping the PC for the new trainer to chose her 1st poke, and at the end of the episode, he says "im waiting for you" for his 1st poke

No matter what happens, I just hope Max goes away when he gets his first pokemon. I could type up a pretty good rant on why Max is useless, but I don't think I will.

Also, might I add that AG is going at a pretty good rate in Japan...Ash just got his sixth badge, so would any of you figure that he'd be at the Hoenn league by the end of the Japanese season? That sure would be nice...I just wish it would hurry up in America, he only has two badges here -_-;; Japan is roughly a year ahead of us in terms of episodes, right?

I think we got to the end of May's first Contest in the States before the ended. As near as I can tell they alternate showing episodes year-round and doing summer repeats, but that could be my imagination and poor recollection of time combining.

Well guys, I just saw Spider Man 2. It was [in the words of May]...................

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It kicked a lot of butt! Doc Ock was very cool! The effects were really cool! Also, there were many great scenes! In short..... It rocked!

I also brought some stuff with my 100 bucks. I brought Spider Man 2 the game and Jirachi: Wish Maker! Speaking of............

I thought May sounded really pretty when she was singing the song her mom used to sing to her and Max. And the song that plays at the end of the movie is great.

When was the first time you saw Misty? What did you think of her?

One of the first times I saw her was in The Island of the Giant Pokemon. I had only saw the last couple of minutes[it was at the part where they all got their Pokemon back]. Then I saw Tentacool and Tentacruel. I thought she was really cute and pretty and not bad looking. Then The Ghost of Maidens Peak came on the next day, and I saw the scene when she came out in her kimono with her hair down. I thought she looked really pretty and beautiful.

I first saw her the first time I watched pokemon, and it's actually one of the better Misty episodes...I remember first seeing her in Hypno's Naptime, right when she was being hypnotized into thinking she was a Seel...I wasn't exactly sure what to make of the show at that point, but I learned to like it and really like Misty =P

If the attribute of May you're talking about is immaturity or poor training ability, I never saw either of those at the beginning of the show. She hates carrots, peppers, and bugs...does that make her immature? Caterpie is a bug, and she hates bugs...put two and two together, she's not going to like it. People don't like what they don't like...I actually don't like carrots, peppers, or bugs either; does that make me immature?

And Misty was already a master trainer when she met Ash, or at least an aspiring master trainer. She had the ability to be a gym leader since she lived with her sisters, the co-gym leaders of Cerulean Gym. She already had Staryu, Starmie, and Goldeen when she began with Ash, making her very lethal to any starting trainer. She was already a cut above the rest when we first saw her.

If Ash never met Misty at the beginning, he would have not learned many things, like strategies, hardship, and of course, love. He also would have never met a very kind and sweet person, as well as a friend he would have a strong friendship with. Misty definitly was a major inspiration to him. :cool:

I taped it last night! It was a great episode! The end of the episode was really touching. Plus, it was nice to see Misty care for the little Marill. She protected it! And she was sad to see it leave. She ended up liking the little Marill. She also was really sweet. I see she would make a great mother. :cool:

Misty knows about Brock's wandering eye and inability to be faithful to one girl firsthand, and I doubt she would stand for any of his tomfoolery (I feel like an old man for saying that word o_O ), especially when she's the one who tries to stop it...I've never seen signs of love between them, just Misty wanting to get Brock focused on the task at hand...it's not jealousy or anything (admittedly they would make a good couple if Brock would be faithful) =P

Well there are already plenty of hints for AAML, and the writers' wouldn't have two main characters in love with the same girl, as that would cause unnecessary tension between Ash and Brock. Brock has never showed feelings for Misty, instead he only goes for people his age, and I'd say that at this point Misty is around 15 and Brock is around 20. Also, as I said in the last topic, Misty gets Brock away from girls the way she does because they have a schedule to keep on the show. Brock's affinity for women is wasteful when it comes to time, and Misty is also annoyed by his affections for everyone. She's just like a shepherd bringing a stray sheep back to the flock, not a jealous lover.

yeah, and also people tend to obsess after a while. i just hope none of us are/become that way as missing some1 who may not positively return as a main character may be giving too much hope. but supposrting her is still a good thing as it shows you care about things many f others may have forgotten. im glad clubs like these exist today to help remind those to not forget even some of the minor chars: ie jigglypuff (a club i made) to bring them back, and show that they are those wanting them to be regulars. and i hope you agree with me when i say "cant wait for jigglypuff to return" yay!

Well, I osess a bit, I know that. But I obsess healthily. I don't do the kinky erotic fanfics and such, but I will debate until I get banned for sheer stubborness in favor of Misty.

But on the issue of militancy, I think it increases once a character leaves the show. Militant May fancs can hide behind the shield of "Misty was cut from the show, so May must be superior" for now. Militant pro-Misty's can't do the same and so they show their true form.

I admit I also obsess over Misty as well and debate in my mind about whether she'll be back or not. Although available evidence points toward her returning, I still worry that she's gone for good. I sometimes feel militant when I think about who she was replaced with, but I never let any anger show. I just bide my time and hope that the Hoenn arc will end in Japan soon so our questions will be answered.

They needed to take Misty out for a few simple reasons such as the reason that they wanted to give Pokemon a whole new outlook like making a game character come into the anime. (This has never been done before. Exception from the Gym Leaders and a few minor characters) The way the anime focuses a bit more on the game. =P

Well, seeing as how planning/writing for season 8 has probably only just begun (if it's begun at all), it's highly unlikely that anyone who isn't directly involved would have anything more than logical guesses as to the contents.

As for why she was revomved, Asher has just about covered it. They were trying to put in a few more game tie-ins, perhaps to let the young'uns know a bit more about Ru/Sa. Furthermore, like it or not, Misty's character was underdeveloped compared to the others. I suppose she needed a bit of a break.

neways, i think misty doesn need major improvement, but the real improvements should go to brock... i mean, he ad almost no part in the series and he was the 1 who returned rather than misty. if they bring him back, he should definetly have more parts in the show.

Misty, by the end of Johto arc, did need severe improvement (as much as I hate to admit it). She was little better than May, I think. She was a far cry from the tempremental hothead I first met. For a prime example, look at her reaction to Melody early on in P2K and compare to her reaction to Macy in the Silver Conference. 'Twas sad to see such a decline, really. Brock, though, already had his role. He was the father figure/mentor to Ash and not much else, so his character has never developed much more, nor has he needed to.

Anyway, I must agree (though a bit grudgingly) that Misty had lost many of her original qualities by the end of the Johto arc. The bad thing is that May didn't have any personality to begin on, so it still felt like there was a gap where Misty once was although the space was filled with May. I'm hoping that when/if Misty comes back her personality will be what it once was...the writers have had long enough to think over these things, they've had to realize that some error was made in taking out Misty and another error was made in slowly eroding away at her personality.

Oh, and to respond to something that was mentioned earlier, I don't think Kairi is a militant May fan o_O I know her name at the old forums was Haruka (or was it Harkua-chan?) but that doesn't make her militant, she's just a regular fan, just like most of us are regular Misty fans <_<;;

God darn i hate myself. I haven't replied in AGES <_<;; Not sure if many of you know, but i've kinda had a huge fall out, big mess up, alot of MSN rows, personal problems and problems with getting onto PC so i haven't been able to get on all week. I'm sorry for not coming here. I can see alot of heated topics have been around lately, Misty vs May arguements, people going against some of the fans here ._.; Some of you guys, please, try not to make us look bad. I won't point out who the people are, cause i just can't say their names out loud. I hope we haven't made this club look like a warzone. I for one have alot against May and Max as characters, but i try to live with it. I find AG terribly dull, May and Max irritating and immature. I think they make Pokemon look more babyish because of their own personalitys. And i don't like that because the anime is sterotyped as a 'kiddies' one. Which just makes me angry. Ash has finally matured and now these two have to come along. I'm sure that they're not going to be staying after AG. Bring back the kanto three i say!! The old days are the ones i loved. We all know Misty will be back, i'm determined about it. Pokeshipping is one of the many threads that will have to be tied up in the end. This waiting us Fans are doing... i'm sure it's for the best. It'll pay off in the end. Anyway just so you guys know i really don't want anymore arguements, cause i'm kinda sick of seeing this go on at so many different forums. We guys need to stick together, and i know i've had my fair share of bashing may, Misty haters, Advanceshippers, but i think i've made myself just look bad from doing that.

It's really wierd how i belive in AAML more than ever now Misty's gone, i think in a way it's made us supporters stronger and more philosophical. I'm waiting for Misty to come back and i've dug my heels in the ground, she will be back so don't fret.
