See, I study German at school, and I thought we could make threads for different languages so we can practise writing and reading skills ^^. Also, people from Germany can help! It would work for any other language too XD. So I'm not quite sure if OC is the best place for this, but can we do this?

I'm 1/4 German (*My Grandmother came over from Germany to England just after the 2nd World War*) but I only learned the language through school and since I left school almost 5 years ago I can safely say I've forgotten most of it....in fact I probably know more japanese now than I do German LOL
In fact sitting here trying to think if I remember any German at all I can only remember how they had to split up my German class in the last year cos the classes were too rowdy O_o;;

If you want to have other languages, just start them! It's a great way to pick up the language you're learning more easily. That's why I started this one.

I'd love to be able to learn German, but I'm too occupied with learning Spanish as it is.
I guess languages don't come all too easy for me. I've been taking Spanish in school for over 6 years and I still can't speak it fluently!

A friend in one of my classes knows a lot of it, so I want to be able to respond to him other then just nod my head hehe...

If I were to learn another language, I would have to speak it all the time for a long time. I always seem to have to learn things in Spanish all over again when I don't use it for a while.

I don't know German... most likely because I'm not German. But I can speak Spanish fairly well. Not fluently but I can speak it. Like DT languages come fairly easily to me. Probably because I grew up living with my Italian-speaking nonna (grandmother) and I've gotten used to hearing Italian and Spanish from relatives...

I can count to one hundred in Spanish! But I draw a complete blank to anything after that hehe.
I know some of the basic words in Japanese, but not enough to hold a conversation. I have no idea how to write it though.

My mom speaks Spanish, but only around my grandma. My grandmother really wants me to learn Spanish becasue she doesn't know English all too well. It's a little difficult for us to communicate at times. Speaking of communication, something funny happened to me a while back hehe...

I know what it means... but I haven't seen the films. I read the books several times though! XD When the first film came out, my mum wouldn't let me go see it (o_O She thought it would be too scary) and I don't think there's any point in seeing the other two without seeing the first one! XD

The reason I started reasing the books was because I loved the movies so much! They're my favorite movies of all time right now, and I don't expect anything will surpass it.
They really aren't scary at all, and the fighting isn't all that violent. They hardly show any blood at all, and no one curses. It has such an awesome mix of all the good things!
Let me just say, you should see the movies as soon as possible. You will defenitely not be dissapointed hehe....
Have you read the Hobbit too? I've read that book around 5 times it seems....
