~*^*~~*^*~ ~*^*~ ~*^*~ ~*^*~~*^*~
I’ve already said this to another person earlier today and I’ll say it again:
Never give a Pokemon two attacking moves of the same type. That means choose only one Water or Flying or Ground or whatever type to a Pokemon. If you give a Pokemon two attacks of the same type, you greatly limit its ability to handle other opponents. For instance, you gave your Blastoise three Water attacks. That means it can’t do anything to Dragon or Grass Pokemon since they are resistant to your attacks. By giving it attacks of other types, like Ice Beam, you’ll be better at handling opponent that you are normally weak against.
Also, I hope you realize that items like X Attack, X Speed, X Defense, X Special, and Dire Hit do no work if your Pokemon are only holding them. You actually need to use them like you would a Potion or Full Heal in order for them to work.
Venusaur
Level 41
Razor Leaf
Sleep Powder
Leech Seed
Synthesis
Never EVER use Hyper Beam or Elemental Hyper Beams (Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, Hydro Cannon). That loss of turn after the move means that the enemy will either kill you, stat boost and then kill you, or switch to a stronger Pokemon and kill you.
Anyways, Solarbeam shouldn't be used without Sunny Day, but your team isn't going to benefit much from the sun. So stick with Razor Leaf as your attack.
Leech Seed is an important move, and Synthesis can help for even more healing. You can also use Light Screen to protect from special attacks.
Pidgeot
Level 39
X Special
Aerial Ace
Return
Steel Wing
Featherdance
Like I said, X items don't work as hold items. And why does Pidgeot have X Special? It has no special attacks at all.
Get rid of the last three moves - Wing Attack and Fly are inferior to Aerial Ace and Sand-Attack is just bad. Return will be your strongest attack and Steel Wing lets you handle Rock Pokemon. Featherdance only because Pidgeot can't learn any other good moves.
Raichu
Level 38
Thunderbolt
Substitute
Focus Punch
Thunder Wave
We all know that Electric Pokemon have trouble against Ground/Rock types like Golem and Rhydon. Raichu can handle them, but not with these moves. The only good move here is Thunderbolt, all the others should be replaced.
Basically, Raichu needs to use Substitute to protect itself while it's using Focus Punch. It's certainly much more effective against Rock types than using lame Slam and Strength.
Kadabra
Level 38
X Attack
Calm Mind
Recover
Psychic
Fire Punch
You're almost there, but you need to evolve it. And what can Kadabra do against Steel types? Not much. You need another special attack, and the best option is Fire Punch. You can breed Alakazam with a Magmar to get Fire Punch onto it.
Dugtrio
Level 37
Dire Hit
Earthquake
Rock Slide
Aerial Ace
Sludge Bomb
Hopefully, your Dugtrio has the trait Arena Trap. If it doesn't, get a new Dugtrio because this Pokemon is nothing without that trait. Anyways, you'll want to replace Rock Tomb with the more powerful Rock Slide, get rid of the weak Dig for Aerial Ace (oh wait, you already used it on Pidgeot, didn't you? =\ Well, try to get another TM). And your last move should be Sludge Bomb. Sludge Bomb takes care of Grass and Bug Pokemon, while Aerial Ace takes care of those who have 4x weaknesses to Flying attacks (like Heracross, Parasect, etc)
Vaporeon
Level 40
X Speed
Surf
Ice Beam
Wish/Toxic
Acid Armor/Protect/Haze/Roar
Ice Beam is so much stronger than Aurora Beam. Water Pulse is quite useless when you have Surf. All Vaporeons need Wish, but that's a bred-on move only. Breeding Eeveelutions isn't that easy, since there's only one of them and they are usually male. The only real way is to breed with a Ditto. You could use Toxic over Wish for now. The last move should be a defensive one, maybe Acid Armor or Protect, or even Haze/Roar.

Not to be mean, but for now you should stay away from team rating topics, as commments like those give people a bad opinion toward you, and doesn't really offer too much help towards the team.
In other news, you ream is weak to something we call Boltbeam. I suggest you diversify your pokemon so that not too many weaknesses are the same, as well as add a special wall/sponge liike Snorlax.

I hope that you only have 4 badges with this team? You must not train often, as the levels are sorta low. And no offense, but having more than one 2 turn attacks for any pokemon is not good. your kadabra's high special attack is not used to it's fullest. Here is your teams top base stats.
Venusaur- Special attack and defense
Pidgeot- Speed
Raichu- Speed
Dugtrio- Speed
Kadabra- Special Attack
Vaporeon- Special Attack
You do not use your pokemon's special talents to the fullest, rethink your stratigies, and get the TM's for the attacks above(yes, they can be taught).

No, con, I’ve told you this before. Don’t put attacks on Pokemon that can’t use them well. Don’t put physical attacks on Kadabra or Vaporeon since their Attacks are so low.
And how many times do I have to keep telling people never ever use Hyper Beam!

I didn't put any physical attacks on kadabra, closest was iron tail. the moveset best fits his special attack base of 120. Vaporeon doesn't even have one! BTW, hyper beam is a suitable attack for those types who don't have a devestator attack. If you don't have a rating on other peoples movesets, don't post at all.

Wow. Where do I start? Since you asked someone to rate your rate....
Venusaur
Level 41
Sludge Bomb
Razor Leaf
Earthquake
Frenzy Plant
It is always a bad idea to give a Poke a two turn move. ALWAYS. RL is only 55 AP, but with two hits it is 110, compared to one 150 hit from FP and then you are a sitting duck for a turn. Bad trade-off. If you are going with an attacking Venusaur (which is quite interesting), Swords Dance would be better over FP since it would make SB and EQ hit much harder. Of course, that is not what Venusaur was made to do anyway. Go with AB's set.
-------------
Pidgeot
Level 39
X Special
Aerial Ace
Steel Wing
Fly
Wing Attack
Again, using THREE attacks of the same type really limits how good your Poke can be. Personally, I don't like Pidgeot (Dodrio is much better), but go with Quick Attack and Return over the two Flying-types not called AA and call it good. Also, X items should NEVER be used.
--------------
Raichu
Level 38
Thunderbolt
Strength
Slam
Hyper beam
Once again, more attacks of the same type (three). I don't like Raichu so I cannot even give a good moveset. AB's works.
--------------
Kadabra
Level 38
twisted/bended spoon(forgot name)
Shadow Ball
Shock Wave
Psychic
Iron Tail
Not sure if you know this, but both SB and IT are PHYSICAL attacks. Kadabra's Base Atk is a wimpy 35, yes THIRTY-FIVE. Quite pathetic. That said, its SAtk is a terrific 120. This guy should have special attacks every time. Dump the physical stuff and the Twisted Spoon. That 10% increase doesn't do much.
--------------
Dugtrio
Level 37
X attack
Earthquake
Dig
Hyper Beam
Arial Ace
Once again, two same type moves and an X item and a two-turn move. EQ is STAB so it can do more damage in two turns than HB can. Again, I defer to AB's suggestion.
----------------
Vaporeon
Level 40
X Speed
Surf
Dig
Shadow Ball
Aurora Beam
I hope I don't have to point out what is wrong here. If so, look at Duggie's suggestion. Ice Beam over AB, Wish over the crappy move that is Dig (which makes EQ twice as powerful if used while you are underground), and Protect/Toxic to round it out.
I hope that you only have 4 badges with this team? You must not train often, as the levels are sorta low. And no offense, but having more than one 2 turn attacks for any pokemon is not good. your kadabra's high special attack is not used to it's fullest. Here is your teams top base stats.

I like your pidgeot/dodrio idea, but post your own and don't critisize my ideas. you and i don't have the same tactics, and you shouldn't say that yours is better than mine. FINAL POST, I HOPE!
STOP CTITISIZING ME POSTERS, POST YOUR OWN IF YOU ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN ME!

Umm, Iron Tail, Dig, and Shadow Ball are all physical attacks because they run off the Attack stat and not the Special Attack stat. Hyper Beam should never be used because it rarely kills the opponent in one hit and you’ll be stuck with a crippling turn loss fight after.
Also, you should actually read the whole thread before you make false accusations. I already gave a much better team rate (read the 2nd post in this thread).
Shane didn't do anything wrong. It's perfectly fine to criticize another person's team rate because criticism is helpful and helps people get better.

Venusaur
Level 41 Nature: Modest
Leftovers
Solarbeam
Sunny Day
Sleep Powder
Hidden Power [Fire]
Three moves of the same type! You killed your Venasaur!
-------------
Pidgeot
Level 39 Nature: Impish
Salac Berry
Aerial Ace
Return
Steel Wing
Agility
Bad Pokemon. Give it EVs, Iron, Zinc, whatever. You sort of (cough, cough) totally messed up your Pidgeot's moves.
--------------
Raichu
Level 38 Nature: Brave, Docile, or Bashful
Thunderbolt
Substitute
Focus Punch
Agility
Man, did you have a bad day or what! Slam: stinks. Strength: stinks. Keep Thunderbolt, but Shock Wave? Man you screwed up bad!
--------------
Kadabra
Level 38 Nature: Bold
Calm Mind
Recover
Psychic
Fire Punch/Shock Wave
Better. Some Irons and more Calcium and EVs will help dearly.
--------------
Dugtrio
Level 37 Nature: Relaxed, Docile, Sassy, Adamant, etc.
Earthquake
Aeriel Ace
Rock Slide
Return
Messed up! the least you could have is teach one of the moves when you have the empty space! I don't Dugtrio is too good. It has poor Attack, Defense, and Sp Def. Think before you even select your Pokemon. Golem would be much better!
----------------
Vaporeon
Level 40
Surf
Ice Beam
Toxic/Roar
Acid Armor
Double Team is ok, but personally I hate it. you need some defense for this poor guy. Some Irons would help. You toasted Vapoeon too! You need help man!

gosh your poke's moves are weird dude.
here's my recommendation
Venusaur
EV: HP 252, Def 126, Sp.Def 126
@Left Overs
Toxic / Sleep Powder
Leech Seed
Protect
Mega Drain / Giga Drain
Pidgeot
Adamant
EV: Atk 252, Spd 252, Def 4
@King's Rock
Aerial Ace
Steel Wing / HP - Ground
Mirror Move
Whirlwind
Raichu <---- (Pikachu would probably be better 'cuz it could holt a light ball)
Modest
EV:Stp.Atk 252, Spd 252, HP 4
@ Focus Band
Attract
Thunder Wave
Thunder Bolt
HP - Grass / Water
Kadabra <-- (I'm guessing you can't trade for alakazam ???)
Modest - Synchronize
EV: Sp.Atk 252, Spd 252, HP 4
@ Lens Scope
Psychic
HP: Ice / Dark
Shockwave
Endure / Recover / Safeguard
I recommend breeding for one if you can get one from a friend from
R/S so u can get the element punch attacks try to get it to ahve
Psychic, Fire Punch, Ice Punch , Safeguard / Thunder Punch
Dugtrio
Adamant
EV: Atk 252, Spd 252, HP 4
@ Lum Berry / Lens Scop / King's Rock
Earthquake
Rock Slide
HP - Flying
Slash / Protect / Endure / Hyper Beam
Vaporeon
Modest
EV: Sp.Atk 252, HP 252, Sp.Def 4
@Left Overs / Lum Berry
Bite
Surf
Ice Beam
Rest / Safeguard
yep...so that's my recommendations
ooh and holding the X atk, X speed and such doesn't do anything
those items don't do anything in battle while your pokemon is holding
you'd have to use 'em the same way you use potions in battle.
Piloswine Magnet
April 30th, 2006, 11:05 AM
ok, first of all, mullet, kadabra already has a hi enough spcl def to kill any fiting or poison type
also, u cant rely on stat boosting moves 2 beet the game
shanecdavis
April 30th, 2006, 12:05 PM
What you don't understand though peabobo is that limiting Kadabra to only Fighting/Poison-types is horrible strategy. By using CM, Kadabra's SAtk and SDef will increase by 1 level, allowing it to attack and destroy entire teams by itself. Well, poorly constructed teams that don't have a special sponge like Blissey or Snorlax, that is.
Piloswine Magnet
April 30th, 2006, 05:39 PM
u just completely misquoted wat i said
shanecdavis
April 30th, 2006, 08:13 PM
Not sure how I misquoted you. CM on Zam is so that it can sweep through teams of any type, not just Fighting/Poison-types. You can beat the game with 6 Magikarps and enough items to keep them alive. Competitive battling though, is a whole different story. Just try to win without either stat boosting yourself or statusing your opponent and see how well you do.

Razor Leaf/Earthquake/Something Else
Solar Beam/Frenzy Plant-Avoid Using 2 Turn Moves. Solar Beam's Power Is 120 In Two Turns. That's 60 Per Turn. But With Say, Earthquake (power is 100), You Get 200 In Two Turns.
-------------
Pidgeot
Level 39
X Special
Aerial Ace
Sand Attack
Fly
Wing Attack
I'm Not Certain, But I Think Having A Pokemon Hold An X-attack/Defense/Speed/Special/Other Is Pointless, Because The Pokemon Doesn't Use It On It's Own. If I'm Wrong, Please Correct Me.
Steel Wing
Double Team
Fly
-Whatever You Want-
Steel Wing>Arial Ace.
Double Team Is Better Than Sand Attack, Because It Keeps In Affect Even If The Opponent Switches Pokemon.
Fly Isn't The Greatest Move For Battling.. But I Know It's Convinent XD;
--------------
Raichu
Level 38
Thunderbolt
Strength
Slam
Shock Wave
Thunderbolt
Return
Earthquake
Substitute
You Don't Need Both Thunderbolt And Shock Wave.. Just Stick With Thunderbolt. You Don't Need To Use Strength Often Enough To Teach It To One Of Your Main Pokemon.
--------------
Kadabra
Level 38
X Attack
Calm Mind
Recover
Psychic
Safeguard
Again With The X-Attack.. I'm Not Sure It Works.
But This Is A Decent Move Set.

Let's have a proper rate, shall we?
Venusaur
Level 41
Leftovers
Sludge Bomb
Razor Leaf/Giga Drain
Sleep Powder
Synthesis/Stun Spore/Substitute/Leech Seed
For a tank, Venusaur is surprisingly fast. Substitute blocks other slow tanks using status like Will-O-Wisp Dusclops.
-------------
Pidgeot
Level 39
Aerial Ace
Featherdance
Steel Wing
Return
Most physical walls spell doom for Pidgeot, especially since most are Rock types.
--------------
Raichu
Level 38
Thunderbolt
Encore
Thunder Wave
Focus Punch
Takes a bit more prediction than Substitute, but can be even more annoying. Easier to get Encore than Sub ingame though. Encore can force a switch, so you can follow up with Focus Punch.
--------------
Kadabra
Level 38
Petaya/Lum Berry
Calm Mind
Psychic
Ice/Fire/Thunder punch
Ice/Fire/Thunder punch
Choose your elemental punches, and go wild with that high Speed and Special attack. And please evolve. Emerald can get you those punches.
--------------
Dugtrio
Level 37
Choice Band
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Rock Slide
Sludge Bomb
Hit and run with Arena Trap Dugtrio.
----------------
Vaporeon
Level 40

Surf
Baton Pass
Wish/Acid Armor

Wish is always nice, helps the rest of your team out.
