If you are playing the game you seem to be playing, as in fire red/ leaf green, it can be found in lost cave, i forget which island.

Lost Cave on Island Five. If you have defeated the E4 once then you are able to go there. If not then you going have to import it from another LG or FR game.

I ok with some of the moveset but the Raichu could do better without the Hyper Beam attack and could do better if you teach it TUnderwave. Better chance to power up Focus Punch.

I guess you are right, but i don't like thunder wave. hyper beam is a suitable attack for raichu, because of his stats.

Umm, no, Hyper Beam sucks and should never ever be used on any Pokemon. Also, con, don’t put physical attacks on Kadabra since its Attack stat is very low.

Anyways, calmind, I’ll be rating your team as if it was a complete level 100 team (that means some of the attacks you can’t get yet until you beat the Elite 4).

First off, Never give a Pokemon two attacking moves of the same type. That means choose only one Water or Flying or Fire or whatever type to a Pokemon. If you give a Pokemon two attacks of the same type, you greatly limit its ability to handle other opponents. For instance, you gave your Snorlax two Normal attacks. That means it can’t do anything to Steel or Ghost Pokemon since they are resistant or immune to your attacks. By giving it attacks of other types, like Shadow Ball or Earthquake, you’ll be better at handling opponent that you are normally weak against.

Like I said, this Snorlax can't do anything against Ghost or Steel Pokemon. Shadow Ball or Earthquake should be in there instead of Headbutt. Use Shadow Ball if you're afraid of Gengar or use Earthquake if you're afraid of Tyranitar and Metagross. On a Sleep Talking Snorlax, Double-Edge is a better move than Body Slam since it does more damage and Snorlax can heal away the recoil damage with Rest.

Gyarados Lv47
- Dragon Dance

- Hydro Pump/Thunder Wave

Gyarados isn't much of a special attacker since its special attack is so low. Please take advantage of its high Attack and ability to learn Dragon Dance. You'll have to find extra Earthquake TMs, since I'm gonna be suggesting that a lot for this team. Too bad Gyarados can't learn Aerial Ace, so you'll have to opt for another powerful move like Return. You can keep Hydro Pump as your last move, or you can Thunder Wave opponents.

Alakazam Lv49
- Recover/Ice Punch/Thunderpunch
- Fire Punch
- Psychic
- Calm Mind

Well, there's no way this Kadabra can do anything to Darks, and Steels and other Psychics also give it trouble. And please evolve it into Alakazam. Anyways, Fire Punch for Steels, Calm Mind to boost your attacking power, and if any other Pokemon are giving you trouble, feel free to add another elemental punch in there. These elemental punches are tutors in Emerald.

Nidoking Lv49
- Sludge Bomb
- Megahorn
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

Normal attacks are unneeded on Nidoking since it can learn better attacks of other types. Sludge Bomb is important since Nidoking gets STAB off of it. Rock Slide lets it handle Flying Pokemon.

Charizard Lv50
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Swords Dance

You shouldn't use both Rain Dance and Sunny Day on the same team since they conflict with each other and will mess you up. Charizard is often used as a physical attacker with a Fire attack. Aerial Ace and Earthquake are its standard moves and Sword Dance powers them up.


You definitely need a sixth Pokemon. I suggest Weezing, Cloyster, or Forretress since its important for teams to be able to defend against both special and physical moves. Snorlax can defend against special moves, and the three Pokemon above are good at defending against physical.

Did you read what I said? I said that Cloyster, Weezing, and Forretress are good at defending against PHYSICAL attacks. Physical, not special. That’s is the point of a physical wall.

And you totally don’t understand the point of Rapid Spin. It’s point is not to attack, it’s to clear away Spikes. Spikes is one of the most annoying moves in the game and its impossible to get rid of without Rapid Spin.

Well, I barely beat the elite 4, but did. I needed 6 FR's, 5 MP's and 4 HP's, as well as 15 Revives. (I only used 6). I was seriously in need of an electric type, not a physical wall, it seemed. I taught Nidoking Thunder, and Kadabra got Calm Mind and Snorlax got Double Edge. Those are the improvements I made (I added a Lv46 Machoke at the very end for a sixth spot) and I will post my updated team for rating very soon.

What are you talking about? Those sets I suggested are standard sets, made a long time ago ever since R/S came out. These have been proven to work by hundreds of trainers who have played way before me.

Actually, you should take that advice for yourself. I'm the mod of this forum so it's my job to look over every post. I don't care if you post your movesets or not. But you should really learn to take others advice instead of being so stubborn.

Betterthanmybrothercon, firstly, mini-modding is annoying - staff are the one who dish out the warnings, not you. By saying that other people should get a warning publicly, you are merely causing the fight to continue, and joining in where no one should be in it. By making it your business, you put yourself at risk of flaming. @_@; Also, your comments on "odd taste in friends" and such were also uncalled for. But you were not the main offender here, so just think about that.
