Those rumors were false actually, they were never gonna separate, they just had some busy years, let's start after the end of meteora:

They get together with Jay-Z and make the Album "Collision Course"
Mike wants to make a self debut album and gets Jay-Z's help
Chester plans on doing a self debut album as well
Mike makes a group call Fort Minor and release the album called "The rising Tied"
LP/Jay-Z/Paul Mccartney sing at the AMA awards
Mike goes on tour with his group
Mike goes to TRL and announces that LP will be releasing an Album by late summer
Chester says his Album will be released late next year

Thats about everything they have done. They are very busy guys after all.

Lupe Fiasco
and many more.
Mike has never left LP. See the CD back from "The Rising Tied". LP members produced the album! Which means...
Mike is still in LP!
BTW, Fort Minor is not a group. It is a side-project of Mike Shinoda.

The album has been out for about 6 years, but thats their first album, I recommend that you also listen to their second album Meteora

Only "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" are their only Albums, the others are either rmixes or songs they sang live, like the "Live In Texas" one
