I think the whole 2d-3d thing is brilliant but the graphics arent
a huge leap,hopefully theres alot more instore for us.

The battles look the same, which I like, and the overworld is 3D, which looks better than the old overworld. Hopefully it will still allow for a giant world.

ZOMG! I don't know what you say but I adore those graphics. Thanks god they are not full 3D... Some people say (for goddess sake :P) that 3D would be cool, but 3d graphics DEFENATELY NOT suit in portable consoles and that's the style tha tsuits to Pokemon. I personaly like it really much. Also I'm happy to see that battle system is still the same. Anyway, I love the graphics!

I saw them on Serebii (...what? XD) and I like them. I think the 3D overword will be fun to play in. Meh, I would've liked to have seen a new battling system, but that's okay. At least we know it'll still be good, huh? There's nothing wrong (IMO of course) with the current system. :3

The overworlds are more 3D, I don't really like them to be honest. Their heads look huge now and some others things look odd. I also don't really like now the main characters look. The battle mode looks basically the same, as I thought it would. I wish they would release some game info...and a video would be awesome.

I am very glad to see that they kept the 2D sprites; the pokemon handheld games just wouldn't be the same without them, in my opinion. The overworld view makes me think of some SNES rpgs I've played...rather neat, actually. I'd love to see these games in action.

Yeah, they're not the best quality pictures, but hey - they're scans of screenshots from a magazine (yes?), they're bound to have lost something along the way here.

those are actually the clearest versions of them ive seen.. Ive been looking all mourning.. it looks soo sweet.. I was worried about them getting lazy and reusing models from stadium and xd to save on production time.. but now I can't wait for it to come out.. XD

The overworld isn’t really 3D. They removed most of the outlines, but you can still see some outlines on the very edges of the buildings and trees.
Anyways, it’s still the simplistic Pokemon that we’re all familiar with. Now that we’ve seen how it looks, I can wait to see how it moves. And I wonder what attack that Munchlax is using...?

So far this game looks great.. basicilly the same old (familiar) play style, but hopped up a notch or two.. Lets hope D/P takes full advantage of the DS's WiFi and other capablities..

Actually, I heard Nintendo is going to try for a lte '06 release. Also, the name of the starting town "Futaba" means "sprout" so I'm guessing the city name motifs might be plants.

According to Serebii, the Japanese release is this fall (September-November this year), so the game will probably come out elsewhere in Spring or Summer 2007, unless they surprise us with a simultaneous worldwide release.

I'd be surprised if it came out in America at Christmas 2006. A more realistic release date for Australia is Christmas 2007.

No this is what I noticed about the Pokemon games. Japan and America has a 3 month or later release date from each other. I did wish that it did come out for the U.S by Christmas time.

I think the game look's real good, i mean seriously it 3D or 2D i dont think that the creators is going to branch that far off from the genuine game play just because the graphics are better, im getting it either way simply because new region and new pokemon the feeling when G & S or R & S when they came out was far better then LG or FR i dont think any pokemon fan will be disapointed but these are just my opinions

I'd really like to have these screenshots in digital form. Generally it seems we get the magazine scans and a week or so later we get digital copies (which means perfect, unfuzzy, and unmarked versions taken directly on the computer) so they can be used for tile ripping and the like.

Hmm, If movement takes place on the bottom screen, I bet you can use your stylus to move in any direction! Similar to Mario 64 DS.

i think these screenshots of pokemon pearl and diamond are fake, because why would game freak waste 2 years making these games and all they do is make the games same as the 3rd generation games. they have the same 2d world and the same 2d graphics as the 3rd generation games. it just took game freak 5 months to make pokemon fire red and leaft green and it takes them 2 years to make pokemom pearl and diamond so if these screenshots are real then they must haved added something else in pokemon pearl and diamond , they are keeping lots of secrets from us in these's games and could be much more then we think.

Do you know how incredibly slow that would make the game? Especialy if they'd add all the useless stuff you wanted there, like own overworlds for every Pokémon you Fly and Surf on.
Do you know how much space that would take? There is a limited amount of things you can have on a cartridge. The whole game in 3D, three regions and own overworlds for every Pokémon that can learn Fly and/or Surf, how do you expect Nintendo (or any other company for that matter) to make a game that would require such a huge amount of data (of course it would be possible for a none-handheld console, but for one of the first 3D handheld consoles in the world? Dream on...)? And on top of that you want voice commands and at least 150 Pokémon -_- Not to mention you want the games to be released fast...

Nintendo has always kept the graphics on the simple side, meaning they'll have room for a complicated battle system, trading, breeding, etc, which they probaly wouldn't if they would have used top-notch graphics.
And I like the simple style. It reminds me of the good ol' days, when 3D grahpics were still new...

I think that the whole 2 1/2 D things is good for a Pokemon game, I don't really want the true blue Pokemon RPG gmaes to lower in quality just to make it look better, I think that these screenshots are great, they'll eventually get polished and they'll look awesome when you actually play the games on your DS, remember that they're scans so that lowers quality and the fact that they were printed on a magazine in the first place also lowers quality so expect the actual games to look better than this.

I am very relieved that it's not full 3D. I have always thought that 2D games were easier to control, and the simple sprite style added to Pokemon's charm. I like the look of these screenshots--still classic Pokemon, with more depth. ^^

Now I just need a DS...

yeah wot he said , i have seen the clear version of the screenshots they look really kool. the battle scene looks really colourful and so does the towns. there is a mixure of 2d/3d graphics in these games. i think game freak didn't make these games fully 3d because it will take up so much space and there be less space for other features. so by not making these games fully 3d, game freak will able to add more features on to these games. we will have to wait wot other features have game freak put on these games.
