it's another great marketing gimick that'll work well for Nintendo.. to get a popular pokemon, you'll have to buy both ranger and diamond/pearl as well as have access to 2 NDS's.. should really increase both the popularity and fun-factor of this game generation.

lets hope there are even more cool surprises coming up soon.

This is exactly what I thought when I read the title of this article. It should be fun, but a tad bit annoying at the same time because you have to trade back and forth to get everything.
