What's wrong with them?

Hey, i'd just like to ask does anyone else think there are underrated pkmn in the gbc games? or does anyone think there are overrated pokemon in the games? like EVERYONE HAS ONE BUT THEY ARE IN FACT RUBBISH!!

Magneton and Electabuzz are underrated elec. Types. Both better choices than Raichu. Hell even Jolteon is better.

But Magnetons, Base speed and Special attack is awesome. Electabuzz has more base Defense and Attack than Pikachu/Raichu. It has bebtter breeding moves. Electabuzz can outrun Raichu anyday. I think their special attack is about the same.

I think the Water type starters from the first two games are VERY overrated. Totodile and Squirtle. Totodile is a special type with horrible SP.Attk. Squirtle and his forms are more of the defense type. They dont suck, just a lil overrated. Vaporeon, Starmie, Omastar (double resistance to fire, awesome) and Golduck are better choices.

Mew: She has pretty basic Stats, and all that. The reason it's so "Powerful" Is because it can learn any and all TM/HM.. Yeah. << But she's still cute as all heck. xD

LOL! Mew is awsome! Its stats are balanced, so you have a physical Mew, special Mew, or just a speedy Mew.

i think mankey is really underrated, primape has great speed and attack and learns a decent moveset without the help from tms
but charizard is BY FAR the most overrated pokemon, ok its stats are good, good movesets, but weak against water, rock, thunder, only strong against grass/bug (which no one uses because they are horrible) steel (which even so could survive an atack because of high def) fighting (could still survive a blast of fly, or even sky attack) and ice (which are usually water aswell) using any of my pokemon id say i could annialate any charizard

Cyndaquil is not meant for pysical moves. It has an high special attack though. Id rather have Typhlosion, Houndoom or Ninetails over Charizard. Typhlosion also can learn thunder punch.

An electric attack on a special sweeper of the fire type=Ownage

People do too, use the grass type. I dont know about bugs, but grass is used. Charizard also has an advantage over fighting types. But steel has awesome defense. But with a special move. (IE fire) They're goners. I use the blubasaur family mainly. Because of sludge bomb. I get STAB from that, wich is 135 base power. Plus I get STAB from RAzor leaf and the high critical hit ratio. Lastly I get STAB from giga drain and then healing takes placee. But synthesis>giga drain because your opponnet can have high SP.DEF or resistant to grass.

I belive the most underatted pokemon is Shuckle. I find it very useful when in a pokemon battle: with its high DEF and SP. DEF, I can heal the rest of the party while Shuckle recieves the bashing.

I think Pikachu is overatted mainly because of its popularity. It may be fast, but it can easily be beat, even by a good flying type.

Thats true, if your pikachu didnt know thunder or thunder bolt. Even with its high speed it could be a goner, I mean LOL @ thundershock.

Alakazam underrated??!?!? hes great, people dont really use him because you have to trade to get him, hes not underrated, just aa bit annoying to get

pikachu is really overrated, but iv restarted my red and he has helped alot

eevee is only good because of evos, if u dont evolve him he is rubbish, but saying that there are better fire/water/electric pokemon out there too

iv also learnt to appreciate the nidorans

oh by the way, when i say a pokemon (like iv said the three starters in my above post) i mean its evolutions too, so when i say cyndaquil is crap, i mean quilava and typhlosion is too (even though theyre not, an example it was)

Thats true, plus pikachu evolves into raichu...Giving it more power

But electabuzz>Raichu. But something makes me not get electabuzz. I dunno, i usually just use my favorites, if I dont win, I train harder.

I dont like magneton, because it has a quad weakness to ground. Then a new weakness to fighting and fire. But power wise, its a better choice

If there are overrated pokemon it would be the Legendary's. Everyone wants them but in fact they ain't so great. A lot of non-legendary pokemon have better move-pools and stats while, for example, the legendary birds are very limited when it comes at a thing like move-pools.

thanks for all your posts, but just remember, i'm on about the metal and colour generation games, i actually havent played the advanced series proper yet, my comp got bugged and wiped all my roms out, gotta go get em again

I think scyther is a bit overrated. It looks really strong, But when all my pokemon got to level 50, it was the lowest of all stats. Some by a lot. And I dont think it learns many good moves. Scissor is pretty awesome though :D
