Cosmic Hacks Inc., or as usually reffered as CHI is a hacking cooporation that makes ROM hacks. It was founded on May 28, 2006. This is a group for all of you who love rom hacking.

How To Join CHI?
Anyone can join the inc. All you have to do is fill in this application form and post it here. And you will get an answer from myself. If you do not get a response, rememebr to pm me. And I will see what happened. You don't have to be the best to join, we also teach new incoming hackers.

nothing - im sorry that map isn't really good enough. To start the house just above lab. there is no way of getting in. The is a glitch in the roof of the lab roof and the whole map looks very boring indeed.

Hey. I'm Dustin.

I would love to be a part of this team. I'm pretty good at spriting. I can copy art style very well. Here are a few examples:

This is a Pokemon I made back in the red and blue days. I drew him on paper all the time. It took me about ten or fifteen minutes, but here we go. theanim8or.box43.net/frosten.PNG Sorry, I'm not allowed to post urls yet. His name is Frosten, it's an Ice Pokemon. It has wings, it can learn certain wing moves, but it's too heavy to fly. I think he used to have an evolution. Not sure, I'll have to look in my sketchbooks. The wings are similar to Zubat's, but I didn't copy them. He has the same colors as Dewgong.

Here's another pokemon I created back in the day. I cant remember his name, so I'm just calling him fluffy thing. He has the typical cutesy Pokemon look. Not dis similar to Jigglypuff, Pikachu, or Togepi. theanim8or.box43.net/fluffything.PNG. His shoes are similar to Tangelas, and his color is from Sparows Head.

A couple of other ideas for Pokemon - an explosive rat, giant rock spider, a two headed monkey with hairy armpits.


I'm particularly interested in the development of the story, and Pokemon.

Although, I've never worked on a Pokemon game. I'm not totally unfamiliar with game design. I've made a couple Legend of Zelda games, and a Mario game. I would love to learn more about ROM hacking.

I would also like to help with the website. I am an extremly talented web designer. My home page: theanim8or.box43.net I hand coded that (although It's not quite finished yet. We could set up a chat room for meetings and discussion, a wiki, forums, all that jazz. I could set us up on my friends server.

Ok, sorry about the confusion. I'm back, I'm no leaving the group.

Oh crap...ok Dustin you already know about this but Pokémon Isthmis got corrupted and i'm having to start all over again. Also me and Dustin have made ALOT of changes to the storyline. Including a new name. The new name for this hack is called Pokémon Maulve: The Era of Darkness. Poké FUsion experiments replace about 64 pokémon in this game. When you play the full version if there ever IS one, you'll see why it's called the era of darkness. Just a heads up when the first Beta for Maulve comes out, the Gym was destroyed and a more updated Beta will explain why. The gym however WAS re-located to a cave north of RUstboro(will change name). Also, you will see Vigroths surrounding the area where the gym is, they are the construction workers. YES That is the moving truck by the Vigroths. If you play this Beta right now, NOTHING will be edited other than the gym. I need a scripter that understands hex btw and can change the rare pokémon events into other events KIND OF like the gengar event in the tutorials thingie. Also due to the fact that this hacks name HAS been changed, the team working on this hack will now be called Maulve Hacking Inc.

Its a hack of Pokemon Ruby(E) which in editors might be called AXVE.

EDIT:Ive released the Rubikonartist v0.03. this one is still minor but it adds a bit, and shortens the part before the first battle.

EDIT:Im on my second edit. Ive now got a version 0.04, which now has the sounds of the title and intro movie sounds changed. Dang, im a lean mean, releasing machine!

Off-topic: Does anyone know how I can put a Pokemon into a hack without erasing any that are already there? (I have scratch Lucario sprites and I want him to be #387 in Flame.) Also, help with custom pallets would be nice. (Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask.)

Yes there is a way to insert pokemon, ive already inserted 3 of them! Im gonna tell you how! *means required
*open up unLZ.gba
*take the pokemon you want to use as a base
*click save as...
*save it as a PNG file.
*open up the PNG file in Paint
(Not required but REALLY helps)draw a black rectangle as close to the original base pokemon as possible without overlapping.
*take your original and put in in the box. NOTE: It MUST!!! be in the box, otherwise it wont work.
*then in unLZ.gba click import
*choose your file.
*Then click Write to Rom
*uncheck the Auto Abort.
*then check the Export Pallette and Export Image
*type in a blank offset for each input box.
*then click ok
close unLZ.gba
*open RSBall
*type in the number 251 in the input box next to the combo box. then click the |> button
*then under Pointer Management put in the same offsets you used in unLZ.gba
*click apply pointer changes.
TADAAA!!! you just inserted pokemon number 387!!!

Thanx! Just a few questions: What exactly is a blank offset? How would it work if I'm not using a base Pokemon? (I already have the sprites saved as PNG's) And how do I get the desired pallette?

okay, one, it means an offset that has just a bunch of FF's in its hex code. Id recommend using A00000 for the Image, and A00500 for the pallette, two, you MUST use a base pokemon, and three, use the base pokemon that has that pallette. oh and you need a back sprite!

Several sprites I've done: Sprite I made for Final_Assault on Serebii.net Forums; Sprite of me, back when I was GoldenGroudon; a fusion of Suicune and a Team Aqua member, made for Wayne2006; R/B/G-style Groudon sprite, edited from a Green Version Rhydon; my Lucario sprites, both edited from anime images; a chocobo (Final Fantasy), mostly scratch; a ghost-type Sneasel, by request; a splice of several Pokemon, with some parts resized/recolored; and a splice of Typhlosion, Charizard, and Blaziken.
I will also be glad to do beta testing and text editing.

not really but caves is maybe a little to far for a home town, but maybe the homes could be in the trees but still have the lab on the ground. :pokeball: Just do what u think will make a decent lookin hometown that people will like.

Oh, thank God. I already did a good map of the first town on Ruby, I don't want to just toss it (my own hack already has its first few towns). Here it is.
The two link go to ExMaps, which can be put in to AdvanceMap or EliteMap to automatically change the map (You can't look at them until they're in). The first, which is for the town, is to replace the map labeled B0 L9 (0009), and the other ExMap is Birch's Lab, B1 L4 (0104). You need Birch's Lab because I added new warps, making the lab have two doors. Be sure to put both maps in appropriately.
Anyone else may use the maps I post for the Last Hope (that didn't come out quite right; you don't have to use them for the Last Hope, if that's how you took my meaning) as long as you give me credit as a mapper, and PM me to let me know you're using them.
BACK ON TOPIC-- These are for the first town, I'll work on the Route today. One little problem, I moved some stuff, so you now don't come out of the truck (but you can see it), your Mom's not there (for reasons unknown; I put her there...), and you walk through Birch's fence and disappear through no door. After that, nothing's funky. Even the blue-haired kid that tells you not to go w/o a Pokemon is in the right place! Enjoy!

i like the new route but im gonna have to stop Pokemon: The Last Hope as i am probally gonna use the name as the proper name for Pokemon Parrallels.

However i'm gonna start a new hack Pokemon SHWARTZ a remake of pokemon gold so perhaps you could start mappin that Dark_Lucario
