Try putting these files into your systems folder.
If this doesn't work, please post again. I may not be on, but as long as I am,
I'd like to make myself useful and help out. XD

Oh; BTW, these files were in RM2K3kid's Pokemon Liquid project folder.
If you're working on some pokemon games, I suggest you download a copy.

Ok I have two problems

3 Layers but there all non-solid, how can I make them solid?

1. Go into the database. Then tileset. Then click on "Passability." Click once to turn the "o" into "x" and vice versa. The "x" means non-passable.
2. I don't get what you're talking about, sorry.

If you look at that picture you will notice that inbettween each section\tile theres a light blue gap, this appeares in the level, and I cant get rid of it without cutting the tile in half, whitch isn't very good so is there any way I can make the tile selector smaller so I only select the needed tile?

Tiger, when you import your tileset and it shows the transparent/translucent page. Click on the color you don't want on there with both buttons of the mouse.
Did that clear it up??
And, Kris, this isn't a forum for ROM's, okay. We deal with our own fan games, okay....

I need some help, you see i'm making a menu for my game (using rpg maker xp) and i get the menu thing right that shows up, but i don't know how to do the menu buttons. examples of menu buttons; title page(main page), and the characters menu.

Fighting Dreamer save them as a 256 color BMP in paint. Or you could use a program like Photoshop to index the color without much color loss.
Guys i need to know if there is a way to resize RM2K3's window?

Are you working on your own CBS and are asking how you should go around
implementing more than 4 attacks, or are you using the DBS?

I don't see the need of having a music player. I do my game projects on another computer;
and I've erased everything that isn't related to game making on it.

These are chipsets from RM2k3kid's Pokemon Liquid.
The closest thing I could find to a jungle were his Safari Zone chips.

Alright. I need some help.
Here is some information on what game I am making:
I am using RPG Maker XP to create a game called Pokemon Crystal Aurora which is a remake of the original Crystal version but with some new additions. It has been in production since June of 2005. I am currently looking throughout RPG XP and I need some help.
Here are my questions:
1.) I have some maps that are tiled from my friends. They used tilesets from FRLG. Now that I have the maps, they still have the tiles in them. So my question is, "When putting the tiles together, do I fill in the lines for the maps, or do I just connect the tiles together so there are no white lines separating them?"
2.) Another question about my maps. This is the one that I really really need answered. I have maps that have tileset sizes from the GBA games (Fire Red, Leaf Green, etc), however, the tiles that the characters walk on in RPGXP are bigger. "Is there any way to decrease or customize the sizes of the tiles on RPG Maker XP?"

i got a little problem.

I tried making my custom title, but when I tried a test run, it said illegal file format. What does that mean? It means that the you're custom title's file format (eg. .bmp .png) isn't one that RM2K is compatible with. .png s should work, but they again checking the help file wouldn't hurt.
Does anyone know how to convert an RMXP charset back to an RM2K3-style one? And please don't forget my other question. :( Well, I don't remember the exact size of an RM2K3 charset, but if you have a paint program that can resize your image, input the measurements and resize.
Also, you might not want to "smoothen" your image when resizing, so choose carefully.
I'd recommend Graphics Gale, if you're looking for something free and easy to use.

Regarding question 2: (If I'm understanding correctly) No. You have to change the original tileset to fit RPGXP. (unless you're willing to risk lag)

which lets you zoom on the map.
but the result would be laggy as hell,
no matter how good your pc is.

There are numerous amounts of text problems.
Are you talking about wanting to change the font, or that the text just turns out weird?
If it's the latter, a screenshot would help.

The "t" in Quit Game looks like a lowercase "L" . I have the font collection from phoenixgamez.com, but I don't know where to put it.
Also if I were to insert a sprite sheet of a character where would that go, I understand importing but what folder.(never mind I figured it out)

Judging by the screen, I think what you need is the font patch for Rm2K3.
I haven't got it myself, but look around google. There were quite a few links last time I checked.
A sprite sheet of a character would go in Charset(s). It's mentioned in the help file.

Thanks, but the most of the characters are 3 x 4. I think they are for RM2003, but i need 4x4 for RMXP, there are just a pair of that.

In RM2K3 is see only a little bit of my tileset... Not the whole... How can i change that? Though I don't exactly get what you're talking about, I'm going to make a rough(hopefully accurate guess).
Well, RM2K3 has 3 different layers. The first layer; the lower tile layer shows only around half of the tiles that are in your tileset. The second layer; the upper tile layer, shows the other half of the tiles in your tileset. The third layer; the event layer, only lets you edit events. You can't add any tiles on this layer.
For exact measurements, please check out your RM2K3 help file.
Hope this answered your question. If not, please attach a screen, and if you could, please give a more detailed explanation.

Are you trying to make a cut scene or something where the text just appears when you reach a certain place? If so, use the Auto Start event, but make sure that you place the Erase Event command at the end of your event. Also, if you happen to go there again, make sure that you use a switch/variable to prevent that event from happening again.
Remember, events have 5 different trigger conditions. Use them wisely. XD
Oh, and I think there're some chipsets in the Resources Thread. I've got quite a lot, so if there isn't any there(though I think there are), post, and I'll upload them here.

Okay, I downloaded Avatar's Charsets and WinRar and am waiting for her permission to use them. I decided to take a look at them, just to see what they all look like. It said that the file was encrypted and needed a password. Does anyone know what's going on?

And about the text, never mind, I should have put the event to be activated to work when the hero collides with the person.
But, I do need to make a little scene in the beginning where the hero is talking to himself. Then I need to use auto-start right? But I am not quite familiar with variables and switches. Do I select an event and turn a switch on? When I select the switch option or variable option, a window appears full of numbers like (0000-0200) etc. What do they mean?

What is a variable?
How do they work in RM2K3?
You know in Ruby, Sapphire, Crystal, Red, Blue, Gold, etc. they always have an introduction with a professor asking your name, your gender, that sorta thing. How do I recreate that in RM2k3?

1. A Switch is IMPROTANT is detmeins weather people are at a certain location, It can make people say diffrent things, and it can activate events
2. A Variable Is similar to a switch but more used.
3.In an event click switch operations and turn one on and off then on an event you want to activate from the switch in the corner tick the switch box andselect the switch you turned on earlier
A varible is more complicated. In the event you want activated by a varibl e tick the box and put in the number the varilbe must be equal or higher too before it activates.. then in events click Varible operations select your varible then put a number you want to + - x or /
4. Make a new map called intro. In event click Show picture...Your picture of oak,elm,birch .ect then the dialogue, then show choices Boy, Girl after dialogue and change the actor graphic depending on witch one and for name in events press Hero Name for rm2k3 or Name input prossing for rmxp

My pc can play MIDS but my rm2k3 and rmgxp can't they just are silent...yes the volume is on, Is their like a patch or something I need to do to make them work? I use Itunes to play misd nothing else works with them

when using the exteradude starter kit, how do you make the player's not sprite dissapear after the battle as in any battle after i exit (win) the battle my player's sprite dissapears

When you enter a custom hero name in RMXP (with the enter hero name command),

unless i close all programs including the internet, its evil!!!

yes but when I put in a picture it says "invalid image format"? What do I do?
Also when I go to "Tools" click on Resource manager and try to use that, it says invalid color depth?
RPG Maker doesn't support very many image formats and colour depths.
An image format is to put it simply, extensions such as .png, .bmp.
Colour depth = 24 bit, 256 colour, etc.
RM2k3 only supports 256 colour from what I recall. Concerning image formats... I know .png sure works.
What programs run .xyz files? I've searched, and my research concluded that it was an rmxp graphic format... so... how would that be opened? .xyz is used by RMXP? That's something new. I always thought they were only compatible with 95, 2k, and 2k3.
Anyway, if you open up your copy of rm2k3/rm2k/95, you'll notice the resource manager. You'll also notice that there's a way to convert .xyz files to .bmp/.png (don't remember the exact file format). I usually convert the file, then open up the converted file in paint or some other image program.

I've had the same problem once before. It had to do with overusing the CPU and RAM in my case.
If it's the same for you, it's really a computer problem, and I suggest getting more RAM, or a better CPU.

I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM! my rpgxp trial has only 4 days left and when that runs out I cannot continue Legend of Articuno unless its converted into rm2k3 so is it possible to restart the trial???

err, Tiger, that's the problem with RMXP, its a trial for a product, you have to buy it before it expires, that's why I switched to RM2k3, but if you want to download a cracked version of RMXP, go ahead, but I can't tell you, because it would be considered warez, and believe me, I tried searching for it.

I'm making a Pokemon game- Pokemon Omega- and I've run into a major snag... I can't find any RMXP Charsets for Ruby and Sapphire/Brendan and May!
Can I please have ripped sprites from FR/LG of Brendan and May, in all six poses- walking, running, fishing, surfing, lifting a Pokeball and cycling for both characters in RMXP style? I apologise if it is too ambitious a project, and I also apologise if my grammar is incorrect... staying up watching my brother play Fallout 2 last night was a bad idea.
btw, can I please have the sprites in 192(width)x256(height)? Once again, thanks.

how do the lower editing layer, middle, and high editing layers work? I got used to them in RM2k3, but in RMXP, its all messed up, like after making the floor, and then trying to put...

I use the lower layer only for floor tiles. The middle and higher layers are for items. The higher layer stays at the forefront of the map and anything on the middle layer will be shown behind it.
I read somewhere that the best way to describe what each layer was for was like:
-First layer:- Ground tiles
-Second layer:- Houses and trees
-Third layer:- Windows, doors, flowers, fences etc.

Anyone can tell me how to make an event like this in RMXP ?
Example: I am making a house with a person standing in front of it. Unless you have obtained a certain object, you can't enter.
Example: (without item) "Sorry, you can't pass without a scale."
(with item) "Ah, so you have a scale, please proceed" (steps to the left and allows you to proceed.)
I also need that event to occur only once. Anyway to do it?
2. What program do people use to make good title screens? Paint? I find it hard in Paint to make a good one.

Well, I use paint. Anywho...
All you do is:
1. Make the first event: the guy and the event should be just the message about you not being able to pass.
2. In the event where you get the scale make a "Variable operation" +1 of a variable you make. (When you open variable operation you can selsect a variable. Select a blank one and remake it to your liking)
3. Make a new page and Assign the variable to the event (person) with name scale or something.
4. Reassign the picture and make the event on teh second page with the event and teh passing.
5. Next, Make another "variable operation" on the second page and name it scale event over or something.
6. Make a new page thats the man at the moved position or not there. If necesarry, make it no picture and phased. (it wont be there anymore and it will be walked over there)
7. Youre done!

I'd wait for Exteradude to finish his edited starter kit, but if you look through Blizzy's thread, you can still find beta versions with files inside the ZIP. They're not quite complete, but they're good until Exteradude finishes.

I have a question for RM2K/3: how can I make an event where, say you're on the second floor of a building, and after a boulder gets pushed over a hole, a switch is activated that makes it appear somewhere on the floor below?
I need this to fully remake the Blackthorn Gym and the Ice Cave.

Oh, I got it! Maybe use the conditional branch, player/event (the boulder) is at certain x/y positions. So when you and the boulder are at the spot where the hole is, the hole will be passable and when the boulder goes ontop the event of falling/variable of the boulder bing below will function... see if that works...
Oh and does anyone have that random like mini mountain rocklike thing you see in pokemon games? like this? Its for an rmxp tileset! Thanks!

in RMXP, is there a way to make a window invisible at the beginning and then later have an event trigger the window to become visible. you see i am trying to do a hp bar in the rmxp default battle sys(pokemon style) and i want the hp bar to not be there in the beginning, like when it says "A Wild CHARMANDER appeared!" i dont want the hp bars there but when it says "Hero sent out Bulbasaur" i want the hp bar to appear is there a way to do it, i wanna edit teh battle status screen. i have tried the if statement thing but it didnt work.. can some one please help.

Well, I wanted to figure out a way to make an event wherein after the hero pushes a boulder over a hole leading to the floor below, a switch activates, making that boulder appear on said floor. The hard part about this IMO is the "leading to the floor below" part.

You mean like... how its going to stay? Well, first, I think switches don't work between maps do they? If not, use variables. They stay the hwole game unless reversed.

There is a little button up the top, when you hover over it it says 'SCRIPT'
In there you edit/add/delete and scripts you want. When the refure to line such and such, thgat means that in a previous script (in this case Game_Player) you find the place they told you to insert the line.
Easy if ya know what the buttons in the programme do, ay?

I found a lot of scripts that allow 8 direction movements, giving way to Pokemon Ranger, etc. games, isometric views with isometric tilesets, faces in message boxes, etc. so if I can get past this, I have a lot of scripts to use, anyone need them, I'll give them to you, they were on another forum.

It varies from script to script.
Some are called, some are just interpreted when the game runs.

Make each badge an item and make the gym leaders give you the items when you defeat them.
Do you have a custom battle system? Or is it default?

Make each badge an item and make the gym leaders give you the items when you defeat them.
Do you have a custom battle system? Or is it default?

but when i want the badges the script is:

$pkmn.badges[2] = true

That script is giving you (setting to "true") all badges.
Like, if you defeat Brock, you should put only:
$pkmn.badges[1] = true
And then, when you defear Misty:
$pkmn.badges[2] = true
And so on...

Press F9, go to Items tab and add a new entry for your item (Press the button under the list to add new entries). Now, fill the information about it. Pretty self explained.

For you question, create a class and in the initialize method put:
#Menu Items
s1 = "OPTION 1"
s2 = "OPTION 2"
s3 = "OPTION 3"
s4 = "OPTION 4"
commands = [s1,s2,s3,s4]
@menu = Window_Command.new(140, commands)
@menu.x,@menu.y = 2,2
That's for showing a window on the screen...
To make it really work you should create a class (like Scene_PCMenu), then create main and update methods and such >_<
But I guess thats a little off your knowings...
I could post something more elaborated, but I'm in a hurry now... maybe other people can help you more than I did.

You'll have to use conditional statement:

This is for RMXP (and maybe Rm2k3):
In the Event Command, search for Conditions. There should be four tabs. Go to the third one, and check Character. Choose your character and it's facing position.
Uncheck the box that says something about conditions that do not met
Click ok
Then, under <>Condition:
put the command you want for jumping.. "Move character" or something...
Keep it simple,

I figured it out. If your menu is a common event, set it to autostart and switch activated, and it'll freeze your gut. I'll look around for that boulder noise.

First of all, you can't use the rock in your tileset. You'll need to make a charset for your rock. Same goes for your flower. I guess this solves both questions.

It says my data is corrupted, some of it anyway...
I managed to save my maps and events, but all my switches got erased. Why? :/

The meaningless squares mean that you can't do nothing with that file in WordPad. Try to make a new fresh Project and copy the files in your old data folder to your fresh one.
(you can do it one by one so you can find the corrupted file).
Anyway, just give it a try.

edited: ok done with both. oh and just so you know if it looks funny that might because I converted it with paint all you have to do is get the size and times it by 2 and then place it in the right spot.

is the Variable your tring to zoom is it a sprite?
so does it have

something like that if not it don't work because the .zoom function is for images/sprites.

well i dont know if there is a way to fix this problem but in the Starter kit the jump funtion sets the player down like two pixles, or three pixles. is there anyway to fix it? does anyone know what the problem is? Please help.

You can't.
And you can't.
Although for the font thing, you can try to replace the font in the Windows/Fonts folder. Don't know if it will work though.
