June 10th, 2006, 01:26 PM
the top one is fantastic!
June 10th, 2006, 01:37 PM
Unseen, umm what do you mean not pleasant to look at. I hate the Pokemon pallettes, they are too bright sometimes I like the colors he chose.
June 10th, 2006, 06:50 PM
I always try to keep the saruration below 150. (except
with yellow, it'll become green if you do that :p.)
It creates much sexier colours.
Edit with a complete selection:

IMO Flash and Meowth are you best. I want to be able to do stuff like this, do you care to PM me some of your tips?
June 10th, 2006, 08:48 PM
Here's a pokemon sprite tutorial created by me:
(Yes, I'm called Hero Yuy on the GMC, yes I know it should

Fire starter for my game.
From left to right:
June 11th, 2006, 01:36 PM
The last one's face looks odd to me for some reason, but otherwise nice job.
June 11th, 2006, 02:58 PM
yeah, i agree, the first two are uber kawaii *shot* omg.....
but the third looks sorta outta palce with that head on that body...id recommend movin the left (ours) leg left and up a little more. the back legs also look a little odd to me.
i cant really discribe, so i sorta gave it a shot (hope you dont mid) i know the shading and lines seem a little funny at places, but thats not what i was focusing one, it was simply the anatomy and pose.
i mixed it a little with a turos beacuse the pose for the front legs there is good, but the rest of the body for that was too big and bullish, so i flipped the body about and connected it to get this:http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e262/Mazilwolf/leodash.jpg
only to show you what i mean... its not meant to be plargurism or anything else silly. just an example. n_n hope you see what i mean......

Thanks for the pointer, I'd use it if you haden't saved it
as a JPG.
Better save as gif or png.
June 11th, 2006, 03:17 PM
x_________X i usuall try to save as a png... but photobucket keeps saving 'em as jpgs.....
*really annoyed* thanks for the advice all the same, and glad you liked it and didnt think me evil or anything!
ive been looking at your avvy for sometime... i think the meowth has such a cute 'hug me already' look on its face, and your colour choice in all your pieces isnt cliche! 8D thats good! you make your own pallettes i presume?
June 11th, 2006, 03:22 PM
Yes, I do make my own palet.
June 11th, 2006, 03:46 PM
Hey Shadow! I am using your guide and trying to make a sprite for my friends game, i'll show it to you here so you can help me and give me some tips on it, is that alright? Note i didn't use AA'ing because i suck at it
June 11th, 2006, 04:18 PM

June 11th, 2006, 04:48 PM

June 11th, 2006, 05:52 PM
Then upload it at imageshack.us.
(Next time, it's fine like this though.)
Here's my newest art:
Not really a pokemon but inspired by my grass starter.
June 13th, 2006, 08:16 PM
wow, love the detail you put inot all that shading.... the colours youve usea are really prettyful! very well done!
June 13th, 2006, 08:33 PM
I love your palettes, your whole style ona whole is pretty good, the colours all loom gloomy, which works really well in my opinion. The teal coloured ones bother me, but they ap[pear pretty old.
