Trouble Beating Maxie on Emerald

when you get to the mt. chimney,i have a hard time beating maxie,even with my marshtomp i have trained hard.

Well, what you need to do is train your other pokemon. It seems as though you,ve only focused on training Delcatty and Marshtomp. My advice is to catch a Poochyena yourself and get it to level 25 at least. Your Marshtomp isnt too far away from evolveing though. Delcatty is probably not going to do well against dark pokemon, so find a pokemon like Geodude and train and replace Delcatty untill at least after the battle. And also, use moves like Sand Attack against them so they will hit you less.

What MeteorDragon said is right. Your team is low.
When I battled Maxie I only had my Grovyle that was level 36 at that time.
And that's that I tried to skip some trainers.
Even Marshomp the most powerful is easy to beat to his pokemon.
My best suggestion, train more your pokemon to live lvl 21-or more and your marshompt a liltte more, and you'll beat him like if you were beating a fly.

Level your Pokemon up a lot. I'll suggest moves for this team while I'm at it.

I doubt you can get Drill Peck now. This is in-game, so even a great defender like Skarmory deserves physical attacks. You can kick at Norman when you level this thing up.

Those are flame thrower, ice beam, and psychic. You have very weak moves also. You should power up. ALthough buying coins until you have enough is expensive. Its like 80,000 for those TM's O_o

#2 I'll suggest moves for that team while I was at it.

I know at that point in the game she certainly doesn't have access to all of that stuff, but this is the moveset for her final Elite Four team.

What version are you playing? Because on my emerald when my Mudkip evolved into Marshtomp it learned "Mud Shot" at level 16.

iv actually betten flannery now,but norman is a pain in my butt
when i used to start with blaziken,it was easy because id keep double kick,but my poor marshtomp isnt even evolved!usually any of my starters have eveolved into their final form by now,and whip normans arse,but that girl with that zangoose that learns slash?it only uses that and swords dance,and same thing that happend with maxie happened here!marshtomp=pwned

My sceppy pwned Maxie. And in the gym (Norman's), my Sceppy was Lv. 37 or so and OHKO'd all the trainers in one hit O.o (With Leaf Blade) And Norman's pokemon O.o Except Slaking.

Well, you should train a Makuhita or a Meditite untill one of them evolves, fighting types are strong against normal types. If you can find a rock type like Nosepass or something, that will work too.

I would tell you to breed a torchic in another game. To get sky uppercut and kill off norman. But Torchic has no arms so its not an option. I bred an tyrouge and traded it to emerald. Then evolved it into Hitmonchan...It was level 35 and it destroyed Norman.

It knew:
Sky Uppercut
Mach Punch
Counter
Strength

Its in my PC now though, there is no way to geht Tyrogue witout breeding with your hitmonchan or hitmonlee. From Fire Red and Leaf green

The problem with Norman is that even with his Skaking possessing that stupid ability, it still knows Counter. I beat Norman with CB Adamant Golem using Rollout.

First of all... Muddy water is a nubbish surf with the same Power and less accuracy.
Number 2... To beat Norman u could train Marshtomp to level 42 without evolving it to get protect and then protect every other turn... And YoMama he cant get CB without trading and u dont know if he has access to trades

train up your Torkoal or Lotad and use them on Mightyena, then use Marshtomp on Camerupt, then use Skarmory on Golbat and you should win. **be sure to level up your pokemon alot!**

Spinda: It knows Teeter Dance, so watch out for that. Get something fast to OHKO or 2HKO it.

Linoone and Vigoroth: There's not much to worry about in my opinion.

Slaking: This thing is quite a pest. It knows Counter, so watch out. You don't want to stall because Slaking has Focus Punch. Try putting a status condition on this thing, preferably sleep condition. Make sure you stay patient and save before you battle. This thing can possibly wipe out your whole team and it might take many tries.

Also I dont know why everyone has trouble on Norman. Brawly is the one that gives me trouble. Makuhitas reversal puts the smackdown on me. The only times I win if it doesnt go for Vital Throw.

Give Machamp Rock Slide/Earthquake/Bulk Up/Cross Chop or something like that.

Swampert will be good with Ice Beam/Earthquake/Surf/Return or something like that.

Absol deserves Swords Dance and I guess you can decide the two other attacks. You should keep Quick Attack.

Don't use Delcatty.

I can't help you with Skarmory in-game except telling you it needs Aeriel Ace. You could also try Return but if you don't have that much TMs you can try Facade or Secret Power.

actually,its not going to be my final team,i finally pwned the elite four,and am working on a team to pwn the battle frontier.

so far,my only really strong pokemon are:
rayquaza
groudon
swampert
and flygon
along with some johto pokemon i have captured.

Just remember that the Rayquaza and Groudon cannot be used in the BF (thankfully), so you will want to plan your team wisely. Swampert is always a great addition, but make sure you balance your team with good attackers (physical and special) and then good walls (physical and special).

btw,its my first time EVER betting the elite four on emerald,and on my first try :O

and is it just me,or is it insanly hard to beat the elite four in kanto,but the gym leader extremly easy,and in hoenn,the gym leaders are somewhat hard,and the elite four is easy o.o
