Fake Cards - I got bored

[Kairyu]

I decided to bring back some old habits I use to do all the time. Especially during high school. And with photoshop, knowledge about the pokemon TCG, and lots of free time you're bound to make fake cards eventually. XD

Well, here's my first creation for 2004, its ninja Umbreon! A drawing I just did a few days ago and now I made it into a playable pokemon card, lol. Hopefully there will be more to come! In the mean time, tell me what you think!

You want to be like me? Well, card idea-wise the only way to come up with something extraordinary you have to just sit back and think about it, lol. If it helps, look through some of the real cards, maybe it'll help get your creative thinking in gear.

Yes I could... But I prefer using my own artwork. Photoshopping Pokemon sprites didn't really count as I did make the background. But yeah, I want to at least stick to making my own artwork rather than finding it somewhere online.

You think its weak?! I think its rather powerful that it has 50 HP and can search for a trainer card at the cost of two energy cards :P. Personally, I think its a very solid card, though it probably won't be very useful if it were to enter into the late stages of the game, lol.

I admit the drawing is nice, but the ironic part is it only took me about one hour to sketch, pen, scan, and color XD. Sometimes the simpliest methods get the job done better.

But do you think its broken? Or just right? I don't want to make to powerful or weak as I do intend on pitting it against real cards.

This looks very good, where did you learn to do this? :)Whoops, sorry for my lack of.. presence >.0 Finals week did a number on me so I took a few days off from doing anything artwork related... Yeah, that's my reason... yep <__<;. *was actually just tired and lazy for the past two days.*

Anyway! How did I make them? Don't you know? Its one of my special powers, I can make anything, no matter how complicated it is, hehe. Ok, maybe not ANYTHING but I can duplicate many forms of art manipulation, like making cards from various tcgs. With my trusty photoshop of course, lol.

Ah, there's no secret to it actually *wow big surprise.* But! Paying GREAT attention to detail is definitely one of them, and then there's researching on how to make them is another. Technically, you could make a very convincing fake card through MSpaint. Its just a matter of knowing what you are doing. But of course you already knew that. I can at least point you in the right direction, try visiting www.pokemonzeo.com

They have a wealth of information (and blanks) on making fake pokemon cards, not to mention a easy to follow tutorial. You just need Paintshop Pro or Photoshop to follow it properly.

Again, I'm terribly sorry for not posting anything new for awhile. I was pretty busy all week, but now I'm free so I have no more excuses.. at least until next month XD. Oh well, to make up for I'll post a card to help tide things over. Please note I did not, and I repeat! I did not draw the fine piece of work (ie the illustration) you see below. It was done by tigergirl. A cool person that was kind enough to let me turn into a card. And I thank her for that!

Ok, its not a big secret, but many do give up after seeing the directions. It can get a bit tedious. If you're still interested, head over to pokemonzeo.com for their card making turtorials.

Oooh, dual types. Where'd you get the blanks for that? (before you edited them) BLAZIKEN RULEZ!!! It still looks like it put on too much sun tan lotion and never tanned.

Where did I get them? From my own head of course! I make my own original custom blanks, too bad this style of blank making take hours to modify properly, that's why you don't see too many of them, lol.

I meant the dual type blank not the part you made up. Ya know, before you customized them. Because it looks like you downloaded a blank and changed it. The Blaziken needs to be redder, more red orangy. Because I think it really doesn't want to get a sun tan...

I made the blank completely from scratch, from top to bottom, symbols and everything with a piece of paper and a pencil :laugh: Ok not really with a pencil and paper, rather I only used photoshop's tools to construct the blank. It took a long time to make, that's for sure.

Redder? Nah, I prefer a more "orange" to "orange-red" version of Blaziken. To me, it just didn't look right with a red color. Artist's preferrence I suppose, oh well =P.

Any way I realy like all the cards. The Ninja Blaziken is my fav out of all the cards so far. I like Blaziken bothe ways realy. Though i have seen a fan where was so orange that reminded more of Torchic.

First
you need a blank, Get one from Pokemonzeo.com or Fakecard.com.
You will also need energies, get some from Pokemonzeo.com or Fakecard.com.
You will also need a specific image, get some from Google.com.
You will also need guidance, get some at Pokemonzeo.com or ask someone at PC.

Secondly
Save your image as JPEG, no point showing it to people who don't have Adobe, it'll just be nothing, they can't view it.
But before you do that, remake them, nobody wants to waste time looking at them because you need to save to a disk or open file and that takes a while.
Its better through hosting but I .. --- *cough* Okay who cares.

Thirdly
Kai, how the heck do you make those blanks perfectly?
I make a dark blank, I made it through Adobe, it has a picture of a dragon I roguhly drew then I filtered it with a half-tone pattern to make it look nice, then I took the blur tool and drove across every edge. I drew the layout sides with the graphic pen and the energies are still the same. It doesn't look Pokémon related at all >.0 It looks for like Yu-Gi-Oh related.. Well.. I tried my best. Infact I will do a Yu-Gi-Oh blank next. I'm going to make a new Pokémon, wish me luck!

Anyway, about the last question. How do I position the energy symbols? Well, if you have photoshop and a energy symbol file (in .psd) its just simple copy & paste (and maybe resizing.) But I'm thinking you only have ms paint. I'm not entirely sure how its done through that, but I think you just have to pain stakingly paste each symbol as realistically as possible, lol. like I said a billion times before, just check out pokemonzeo.com I'm sure they have some kind of tutorial that should help you on your way.

1) The person that told you this to you probably thought the card was real and merely thought it was coming out in a later set.
2) The pokemon card makers are starting to run out of ideas and decided to steal my idea, without even asking me *how rude.*
3) Its someone's idea of a cruel hoax.

Plus, I doubt its number 2 since *new* cards are usually released in Japanese first. And I have yet to see a Japanese version of that particular card, since I never made a Japanese version anyway, lol. But there are other Deoxy cards out there, but I think those are just movie promos.

Oh ok, so that's what you meant. I know there is a Deoxys ex being released, and again its not the exact same card as the one I made. Infact the one I made is entirely different, the only similarity is the name and the fact that I also drew a defensive form of Deoxys. :P

You mean the attack descriptions? I use Gill Sans at 89% width for both my real looking cards and my custom blank cards.
