That's right, I took on the task of carrying on RM2K3Kid's Pokemon Liquid Project. For those of yo who don't know, RM2K3KID is talented, and I don't mean this lightly. Most people on this forum already know who he is. Now to get down to business.

Story:
A boys/girls Pokémon adventure begins whilst an evil company rises as they steal, Mutate and creates Pokémon. The Andros Team work for GenCorp a genetic science company that experiment with Pokémon DNA. The Andros Team are responsible for the recent Pokémon robberies. They steal Pokémon for GenCorp in return for new super Pokémon. A Pokémon scientist who lives in MeraTown has found new information about an Ultra Strong Pokémon that can control the weather and seasons being created by GenCorp Located in FortloreCity. The scientist who found out this information is named Prof Kerr and he has selected a boy/girl to stop GenCorp. At the moment the boy does not know he has been selected for this task. The boy/girl does not know of the company or the team as he/she will learn later on what this team has done to Pokémon and he/she will strive to stop them.

I'd like to continue the 3d map thing but I'd need someone to do it for me.
I also need various people to do stuff, such as one of the screenshots of the title has C2004 RM2K3KID, I'd like someone to make a duplicate of that pattern and put C2006 PokeCreator_09 and make it red. I was going to do this, but I can't get the font right.
Believe me, anything somebody does is credited, no matter how small it is.

Yeah, for some reason, my computer wont upload anything. I tried on savefile, maxupload, and as an attachment.
As for the 3d map system, if you read the first couple of lines it says that Pokemon Liquid is continued from RM2K3KID, I just copied the story and extension and edited it a little. The systems are started by RM2K3KID, but I'm finishing them. Ican contniue the 3d map system, but it'd save alot of time if someone could do it for the project.(Credit is always given where credit is due.
anyways, thanks for the comments, and I'll try to upload the file from my parents computer.

Okay I uploaded the file on rapidshare.
And yes, RM2K3KID asked someone to finish his, not specifically me. He hasn't visited the forums in a few weeks but he and krazy meerkat released another game tobe released called pokemon metropolis.
edit: a couple bugs I've found.
1.If using running shoes, ryan falls behind. Fixed
2.House 1 in Dakara town freezes when trying to enter. Fixed
3.Ryan bmping into you Fixed
4.Freezes when exiting cave in Cindergale Fixed

When the site pops up, scroll down and choose free. It'll then take you to a page and you'll have to wait like 30 sec. before you can click the link to download.
Andin this game, I plan to match the characters walking gfx to their battle characters. EX: In all pokemon games so far, you can meet a kind of chubby guy in blue clothes and in battle he's huge and has green clothes and a hat.
Bugs Found:
1.Freezes when exiting cave in cindergale. Fixed
2.go blank when you engage in battle with sting. Have to create the battle map for this

Just wondering, does anyone here know where I ca n get a cheap laptop or earn money fast? I have $120 and I can get a gateway tablet pc from my aunt for $450.
Anyways, I need to know if I shouldstick to the original pokemon game music, or write some new stuff?

it's not really off topic since getting a laptop would speed up process on the game. And I'm fifteen. Where could I get a job?
and yes I know about this glitch. For some reason, RM2K3KID didn't turn the switch of seen pichu, marill, or evee in the battle sequence, and that's what the pokedex uses. I'll fix that. If you're using RM2K3 and testing the game turn on the switch seen evee, marill, or pichu. and when you want out press esc, that should still work, since I had to fix that too.

No I can't. If you read the first couple of posts, it took me forever to upload the rar. I think the problem with the zip file was it was invalid. RM2K3KID named some files with the european e character, and that's invalid. This error doesn't show on my computer, but it does on my parents just download winrar from downloads.com

Lots and lots of events. It took me 3 months of getting used to RM2K before I even tried to make a pokemon game. It wouldn't have taken' so long if I knew about the community back then, bexause now there are tutorials everywhere.

Actually, RM2K3KID designed it. I will improve it though. the battle event first makes a variable a random number. Then, it switches to a page that has an event condition set to that variable, which has the pokemon's data. At the start of that event, it calls a random number according to the ratio of male to female.
Example: Pikachu: variable operations=random number 0-1. If zero, show pic pikachu F, if one show pikachu M.
It's actually simple if you think about it.
Oh, and if nobody's going to make that 2006 PokeCreator_09 bar, can somebody please tell me what font is used?
edit: Kyledove made them. They are the orignal Pokemon Liquid heroes. I pm'd him and he said I could use them.
edit: I made a Pokemon Liquid banner, so if you want it in your sig, copy the code and put it in there(might be too large). If anybody feels like making a better banner, feel free to.

That doesn't sound stupid. Yes it's made in RM2K3. Sometimes I can't tell from just looking at the screens.
I guess that means the graphics are pretty good since you have to ask.

WOW, thanks. Most of the mapping so far has been done by RM2K3KID.
Now to get back on course.
I really need suggestions or ideas for the 3d map system. I'd really like to have one, but I'd have to recruit somebody to help work on it.
So here's who I need to recruit:
1. A spriter(to work with spriting new gym leaders, hero backs, stuff like that)
2. Someone to help with the 3d map system
3. Someone to help compile the battles. for each route or trainer, a newbattlemap is needed. Although it's not hard since you can edit an existing one, it's time consuming to do all of them, so I need help.

I'm not like Azura, so I'm not going to say I'm taking over the project an nobody else can.
I seriously don't have that power, and I don't think he does either. If Krazy Meerkat said that, it'd be different.
Anyways, Pokemon Liquid is in the bottom of the Games showcase, I think. It might be in archived games.
If you want to use this game's resources as stated you can in the old thread, use that demo, not this one. I will be getting alot of other resources from people that might not want you to have them.
And I'm glad to see someone on this, too. Even though it's myself.
Istarted looking at Pokemon Liquid in 2003. Then he canceled it later that year. Then he started again in 2004 and quit in 2005. This project has been up and down. I hope I can finally complete it and let it RIP.

Metropolis is one of my favourite games here and I'm glad only one team is working on it :p After all, some guy wanted to just use the resources from it, change the name and put everyone somewhere in the credits.. Doesn't seem like the best of intentions to me ;)

What I meant was that person asked if it was okay if he worked on the game as a "hobby" pretty much. He said he was a beginner and he was trying to learn scripting. More than likely, he wouldn't have finished the game anyways. But Azura said no before he heard the guy was just trying to take the resources and all of that. I didn't agree with that part. I meant no offense to Azura in any way, he's been nice. I just didn't agree with that.

If you mean in the demo where the people follow you, its called a caterpillar systerm. Ryan keep bumping into you because I kept having to change his speeds. In the intro, at the end your speed is halved, so it's more like the GBA
games. If you don't go through the intro, it's twice as fast. So, while I was trying everything out, Ryan was slower, so he was far behind me. So I sped him up, now he's twice as fast and bmups into you. I didn't notice this until the release.

I can't catch my first pokemon. NEVER WORKS! :(
I've been catching for an hour. I've never caught a Pokemon :/
And everytime I use 3 rocks then catch, the pokeball just stays there.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Male Hero. This is the best charset you'll find of im now. As more DP Screens become available, a better charset will become available.
@Slix00:
You can catch a pokemon. The way it works is when you throw bait at the pokemon, their trust increases by a random number 1-3. When you throw a rock, their hp decreases boy a random number 1-3. When trust is over 10 or the pokemon is knockedout, it runs. Try using 3 bait and 2-3 rocks.

I know. And the people who voted no improvement and horrible didn't even play the demo. They just looked at screens, which RM2K3KID's maps are anything but HORRIBLE.
Now a couple of questions:
1. Does anybody know how to get around the Invalid Color Depth issue? That's
one reason the DP Hero looks strange.
2. I need people to post about the 3d map idea.
3. I need recruits. If you or anybody you know wants to be on a team, then I
need them. I don't need any mappers right now, since alot of the
begginings maps are done, but I might later on.
Please, this game and any other game will fail without the help from the fans.

For the invalid color depth, I'd suggest getting IrfanView, a nifty program that lets you convert your pictures into the color depth you need without any color loss. Get it in gamingw's utilities section.

I had the same problem. When you catch your first Pokemon (good idea BTW), the Pokemon is catched but the battle continues!

I didn't make a mistake. You're supposed to have at least 4 trust and 5 strength. So, use 3 bait and 3 rock.
Still trying to see what's causing the problem.
Edit:
I found what was causing the rock problem. It had an else case that if your hp wasn't low enough, it would jump out of the ball. However, RM2K3KID didn't include an else case if the trust wasn't high enough. The solution was a label jump. For people who haven' played my demo and are saying my game hasn't improved much, this is the main thing I'm talking about. I haven't had to improve the maps becauser they're awesome. I've had to correct some color problems, but nothing more.
If you're gonna vote this game bad, at least play the demo first
Two quick questions for everybody:
1. How far can you get through the game?
2. Any suggestions or bus would be helpful.

Wow Thanks. For that, ya'll deserve an update. You'll get one tommorow.
For now, I've almost finished with the cindergale gym leader. I just need to work out weakness and resistance. Right now there's no way to beat him without messing with variables, cause you can't level up on your way to the gym.
And does anyone know how to display the name on the trainer card? The way it is right now, I'm gonna have to have the hero enter his name twice. Once for the Hero name and again to store each letter into a variable. Any help on this mater would be appreciated.

What do you mean creepy dude? Ryan? If so, I had that problem before, but I haven't had it again. I'll try it now. Thanks for the error.
Edit: If that's the error you're talking about, then I've fixed oit. Don't remember how. I think Ryan was trying to maove up and the Hero was in the way.
Oh by the way, I've chaged the intro a little bit.

EDIT:
Some suggestions:
Make the safari capture more random. Not everyone even uses 2 rocks, because they don't want it to run away.
Playtest your game more after making an update. Even the smallest event edit might screw up another part of your game. Play the ENTIRE game.
I like the speed that you go from route to town, but theres a difference between the grass and trees, which is annoying.
Bugs: Cyndaquil faces down on route 1, to the left in the town, and if you go into the ticket sailor on the far left, it freezes. You really need to playtest your games more o_o

No there is not another version out.
I zipped the file after I fixed a couple of things, but since I couldn't upload the zip, I had to upload the rar. unfortunately for you guys, I forgot to update the rar file. Anyways, Somebody else should be posting the zip file for me.
@Slix00: If you're still reading this, could you post the zip file on rapidshare or maxupload if I email it to you. If so, then pm me yopur e-mail address.
edit: yah, the grass and tree thing is annoying. If you go to cindergale and go to the other professors house, the pokemart changes from purple to blue. This is one of the things I have to fix on the maps from RM2K3KID.

Btw, when i put on options, my creepy ryan dude went missing. I was kinda glad.. because. hes annoying when he keeps bumping into you, i believe you did that because of a running bug.

I've fixed it now, but it was weird. I've also gotta go through and fix the different shades of grass and stuff. Also notice the gym.
And anyone that wants to download the demo, Slix00 is gonna upload the zip tommorrow. It's an updated demo with bugs fixed and you can now battle the Cindergale gym leader.

The reason why the 3D map system didnt go ahead was because the members of my forum voted to keep the PKMN style map system.. though the 3D one looked cool.. reminds me of the Zelda map system lol. When i get the time I might try to set up the 3D map system for you.. or just give you a basic idea on how i wanted it to work. Anyway your doing pretty good so far. Hope to see more soon, cya!

If you downloaded the zip fi;le I uploaded today, delete it. I uploadee a new one. I let my brother test it out and I forgot to delete Ryan in the Andros cave when I was taking screenshos. I didn't want to have to get that far, so I just added an event that looked like Ryan... Anyway, A new one has been added. And I know about the glitch you get when Ryan wants to go with you, and I know Ryan appears when you go into the 2nd proffessors house.

Good game but here is what I saw.
1)Did you finish you know, to see your Pokemon?
2)I can't battle with the new Pokemon Prof. James gave me.
3)When you run out of the cave, the sprite turns into LG/FR sprite.
4) When I talk to the second person, way on top of the gym(not the gym leader) the game freezes.
5)A cool glitch I found out. When you run out and can't come in the cave anymore, talk to the guy that says, "Dessert time" go out of the dessert. Then the cave won't be blocked anymore. Go to where all the people are and hear Ryan talk again. Then when you run out, you stop. Then you are able to run around the city.
That's pretty much it.

Yah, I've known about the glitches.
These are the glitches from what you listed:
3. I haven't changedall of the sprite changes to the official pokemon liquid hero
sprite.
5. I found this one out last night without even realizing it. My brother was
testing the game and he went through the cave, then through "Desert
time". I was wondering why it let me back in the cave, and it donned on me
when you said that.
All of the rest of the things are not glitches. The CBS is nowhere near finished, and that's what I'm focused on preparing. You have to create a new battle map for every route or trainer. The guy in the gym doesn't have a battle map yet. And I haven't messed with switching pokemon or using items yet. I understand how to do these things, and I'm sitting down right now, trying to think of ways to do everything. I'm trying to think of ways I can make this stuff happen. I recommend doing this to everyone everytime you're working on a project.

Okay played the demo and like how you made the starter towns and routes. But catching pokemon in that place where you can catch Eevee, Pichu and Marill is impossible.

I know It's impossible. I said that on page 3. There's nowhere to level up on your way to the gym. When the game's done, You'll be able to level up in route 3 and on the ship. And, Sting will use more than one pokemon and they'll be higher than level 5, because face it, If I put in the weakness and resistance effect right now, one thundeshock from Pikachu would knock him out. Cindergale City is as far as you can go anyway. The last thing you can do is beat the gym. You're supposed to get cut from someone in Cindergale City, but I haven't implemented TMs and HMs. I you really want to beat him, test the game in rm2k3, then change the hero hp variable.
And it's not impossible. you have to increase it's trust with bait and decrease it's health with rocks.You can't tell what it's doing, but you will by the next demo. The HP bar will be functional, and the pokemon will have expressions. I don't know how I'm going to change their expressions, but I may need a spriter for this.
And id anyone here contributed to this game when RM2K3KID was working on it, I need names. And don't lie 'cause I'll check with him.
People please read a couple pages before you post questions. I could uderstand if the threa was like 24 pages or something, but it's four.

I need help with the trainer card. I can't think of a way to get the hero's name on it. I'm thinking of this.
I rip the name enter thing from the game and use that and a cursor to store each letter in a variable. The bad thing with this is the characters might be spaced out a bit, and when I'm refering to the hero's name in a message. So I'd have to make the player enter ther name twice. Does anybody have a way for this stupid thing to work. It's so simple in RMXP, bt his is RM2K3.

I played your latest demo.. there are some minor bugs that appear.. some are mine (most lol) but some are yours.. but you are doing a champ job at fixing them! I also made you that bar you wanted.. I remember the font but i like the font that is in this one better...

The font was the default RM2K3 one on my pc.. I'm sure it wasn’t common among RM2K3..
I notice you are trying to put the hero's name on the trainer card.. I'm sad to say its not possible without making the player enter their name twice.. as I recall someone long way back made a RM2K3/RM2K enter name system that worked with variables. It was impressive but rather complex. If you can somehow pull that off then it would be a nice addition.. and no I don’t have it anymore, most of my RM2K3 files got erased when I moved to RMXP sorry.
One last thing before i go. I noticed you have multiple backups of the rpg_rt.exe in the games folder.. when posting another demo remove them and the size will go down by a lot.. when i did it went down to 3.25mb (around 3mb). Other than that and the glitches the game is going great so far! Cya ;)!

I'm going to figure out the way to enter the hgero's name if it kills me. Holy crap, I think I just thought of it. instead of in messages /n[1] have the varia...
never mind. I have to store numbers in variables, so never mind that idea. I'll figure out how to do that custom name system if it kills me. I think I saw the game you're talkingabout, or it was one with the same idea for the name system. If anyone has any ideas, post them please.

To put the hero's name, you put in \n[####], like if Brendan from RSE was the first hero, it'd be \n[0001]. Heh, there ya go. ^_^

I know that. The problem I'm having is displaying the hero's name on the trainer card. The way I could do it is have the hero enter their name using a custom name system, and each letter they pressed would store a number in a variable(A=1, Z=26). Then, make the event conditions, if letter1=26 and have the graphics for that page Z. The only problem with this is that I can't call the hero's name with this method.

Well it's near impossible.. it has been achieved but it requires the player to enter their name twice, and that’s if you wish to take the simple path. If you don’t want the simple path you could try placing images in convo's but that would take so much extra time and effort.. Do remember that this is after the system has been made. You might think to leave it now and take something else up and then return to that problem later.
I wish i could be more help with that..

I referred to all of those except he pidgey used tackle thing on page four. hey'renot gitches, since I'm still working on the battle system. The pidgey thing I've known abou, but I'm not in a hurry to fix it.
And as for the hero's color, he's transparent in that screen, and it looks good when you're playiong the game. I don't think I'm going to put a pokemon fly up yo him or anything, because the intro is kinda crowded.

I don't know if this has been fixed or anything or said. but one glitch I found was that I cought a pokemon but i didn't catch it O.o all it did was change the pokemon to a pokeball. the only way I was able to catch a pokemon was to throw lots of rocks then the pokeball.

Actually, in the post above I was talking about a pcsystem. The CBS is pretty much finished. The only catch is that you have to make a battle map for every route or trainer, which sucks. But that comes with trying to make a pokemon game.

read page 3 for catching the pokemon. I admit the text speed is too slow, but if you press the SHIFT key, it goes faster. As for the walking speed, it's the same as the GBA Pokemon games. There are running shoes and bicycles in the game to speed the hero up.

Thank you, somebnody understands. I guess everybody's so used to the walk speed being faster, they think the correct speed is too slow. Sort of like when you get the running shoes and bike in a pokemon game, then when you walk in buildings, you think your speed is too slow, so you get frustrated.

i was finding it annoying traveling so i just made a common event of making the hero speed up, so its all good!!!, where dose the demo end, at the gym?? becasue the chickaritas moved but the door thing dosent lead anywhere.....

You muist be doing something wrong because everybody else has been ale to get inside of the gym. The demo does end at the gym, after you battle stin. It's impossible at this point to defeat him because there is nowhere nto train on your way to the gym and you can't switch pokemon. The only way is topmess with the hero's hp variable. In the next release, you'll be able to get cut aqfter you defeat sting, and be able to progrees past route four.
Again, does anybody know what font is used for the HP Bar posted at the bottom of page 5?

Hey! I agree with the text speed.. it gets real annoying when you can only play it outside rm2k3 :( because I cant speed the text up. I did make the text slow so it was like the GBA games.. I realize now its way too slow! lol as for the walking speed, well it seems perfect for me. Yah, I'm surprised only on person besides RM2K3KID brought up Ryan running into the sign. I thought I fixed it, but when my brother tested the game the other day, it came back.
And fo rthe trainer card, I was thinking about having a machine that prints out your trainer card for you. So, when you goto the professor's house to get your pokemon, he'll tell you to go over to thet machine and type in your name. How does that sound?

And about the speed thing, hits himself on the head. I always thought that those were there to mark the beggining and end of a line. So what speed should I set them to?

Well, with the trainer card printer, I have to go throgh and make another menu for showing when you can't view your trainer card.

No, that means it's gonna be a while before I release another demo. Let me just put it this way, I'm only gonna release 1 more demo to the public, then another one to select beta testers when I'm ready to release the real thing. I don't want to release my game in 10 pieces like aloit of people want.
Please don't ask to be beta testers. Luckily, nobody has asked yet, but I don't want it to start. I'll ask for beta testers when the time comes.

Hey again! The font I used was ripped from the english version of fire red.. i got it in a large sheet and had to cut it out by hand.. so it mught be wise to either find one that matches or maybe chase the sheet up and then do it all by hand. Also I found the sheet on a site.. can't remeber which one sorry.
Wise move. I released one version, then I began working on it. It was like a teaser not a bug finder.. there were'nt many bugs lol.

Well it all depends on how good your game is.

Good work, but I noticed another glitch, in Prof. James lab and the Gym, in the top left corner, a Ryan sprite is kinda just sitting there.

I don't see why he'd have a problem with that.
And with the Ryan thing, I need to fix that. It only happens in select places, but I still need to fix it. I copied the caterpillar system onto almost everymap, and the ones I copied were sorta defective, so I have to go through and replace them. Can anybody give any specifics on when he appears, like after the boat scenee or all of the time?

Thanks you guys, I'll start on fixing that as soon as I get all the buildings to disallow running shoes and then turn th switch back on when you get inside. It sounds so simple, but for some reason, you hace to do all of this unneccessary crap. Oh well, I gotta do it.

The Ryan problem is because the switch is never turned off. Because I didn’t start the idea for other people being able to follow the hero later on.. I never placed those events passed the boat. When you added them you didn’t realize that the switch needed to be turned of. Switch [209:NPC Begin Follow] turn it off in the intro for Cindergale city. You probably already knew it lol.
One last thing.. is there a reason to removing the guy guarding the cave? He stops the hero getting in so he HAS to go to Prof James first. Even though you have disabled the teleport it doesnt explain why you cannot enter.. or hint it. just thought I'd let you know.
Edit: @ Zaid_Zinakari - If you go into test mode and walk up to him(hold ctrl and walk through the walls).. guess what.. he starts following you!! lol its funny.

I can't believe I didn't see that. I removed him because he was getting in the female's way after the cave scene. I definitely have to fix that.
And yes, I already knew about the switch that needed to be turned off. I added all of the other "caterpillars" there because I'm going to have the option of a pokemon follow you after Ryan joins Team Andros. I just thought the switch was turned off after he called you a dweeb or whatever.

Yeah, but it's gonna be a pain in the butt, because i'm gonna have to put an event page for all 251+ pokemon, and that will probably take up to 7 pages. I'[m thinking about having the Johto 251 pokemon plus 50 new ones, including the pokemon you get from professor James lab. Tell me what you think of that idea.
For that, I'm going to need spriters to sprite new pokemon from scratch. If you think you could do this, and would like to help me, please pm me, with some of your work.

RM2K3KID, maybe you could help me on this problem. I made a way to get through route 4. When I got to Black Hawk town, I went and talked to Jessica. When I walked out of that house, I could walk on every tile made. I can't figure out what's causing this problem. If you know, will you please post it?

Well, it depends how you look at it.. you could have a variable that contains the number of the Pokémon that you want following and have a large IF case.. (by large.. well if your going to have 251 + 50 new.. well it would be a large IF case.)

Have something like that. It should reduce the amount of pages needed for a Pokémon to follow you. Well if that works it will only require one page for it.
As for the problem you are having.. I played up to that bit and talked to her. I walked out and I didn’t encounter the problem you are having. I sometimes ran into this problem.. its most likely a chipset problem or it has something to do with test mode.. save it before you talk to her and play it in normal mode. Does it always happen?
btw I just realized that cut does work on those plants in route 4.. Its been so long lol. I just got cut from sting and it worked lol.

Yeah, Icouldd that, but it's gonna take a long time either way. I didn't know sting gave you cut after you beat him. I mean, I didn't know you already put that in there. I looked through the event and oh well. I'm going tochange it and make it to where you get it from someone after you beat Sting. Traditionally, Gym leaders are supposed to give you TM's and people in the town who are generous give you the HM.

Please don't put in custom pokemon, unless they are evo's or de-evo's of currently existing pokemon. I know you aint striving to make a traditional game, but fakemon usually look really poor, and greatly ruin the effect a fan-game has.
But keep up the good work, it's looking great so far.

Let me start off by saying I take my work seriously. I'm not going to mess up my game due to some sucky graphics. That would mean I waisted my time trying to perfect thiings. I chose 50 new pokemon so it wouldn't be too big of a task for some good spriters. If I do add them, they'll look professional and not like crap. Not trying to be rude, but I know what I'm getting myself into.

Okay, I didn't know about the red hair guy. I'll have to check in to that, 'cause it was probably RM2K3KID's test event for the bag menu. The other two aren't glitches, they're just incomplete. The pokemon center is on my list of things todo, and it's not done because i'm implementing the GBA pic's where it counts the number of pokemon you have and the machine flashes and stuff. As, for the trainer tips, I have to go through the whole game soon and look at all of the NPCs and sins for their text.
As for the 3d map, I don't understand what you want. RM2K3KID is suppoosed to pm me about how he was going to have the 3d map setup. I'm thinking about when the pointer points to the town, If you've been there, then it shows all of the buildings in a 3d view. If you haven't been there, it shows nothing. I don't know how to design the maps yet, but when I do or can find someone that could do it quick, I'll pm you.

I'm thinking about in the game, when you battle psychics, you don't have to be right in front of you. So, if you're in a cave and there's a psychic trainer, certain tiles on that floor will 'caue the psychic to sense you. Just an idea, but I like it.

Yeah thats a pretty good idea.. you walk on a tile and then the trainer will either run to you from off screen or teleport in front of you. lol I like the idea :D!

hmmm... nice work but al of those screens are from rm2k3kids version of the game anyway so nothing new and you will need to use esai's version of the grass system and implement my sand system into it else you will need a nice fast pc to stop it from lagging!! 2.5ghz+!!! but keep the work up!

Uh it seems tom.. (tried to help out when I was making liquid) wants you to use his sand system.. its very very basic.. instead of fade they just disappear. But I like the fade ones lol they look better. With any game with loads of events things lag (in rm2k[3]).. you cant really avoid that unless you have a means of editing the coding of the exe and updating the code to meet your requirements.
Esai's grass system doesn't allow the full animation of the grass to take place. it almost drags a pic across the screen with you :/. Though it was a good achievement at the time.

Oh found a glitch, though its quite small..
When you save, then you exit the save menu,
the menu will show your marker on 'Save'
but the game thinks its on 'option'
Pokedex
Pokemon
Bag
Trainer
->Save
Options
Exit
-if you click enter it will go to the options page even though the marker was on save
-if you scrol down, you will automaticaly go to exit
-if you scrol up, the picture will be the same, (but you will now be on save)
try it!

PS: I dont need the sand walking system, i was playing around with it, but i realized that other peoples footprints dont appaer (because it activats when you step on it!)
so im not gonna use it, but its a nice system!!

Yeah sad that. But you can make a npc leave footprints, you just need to do a bit of extra stuff.
Yeah that minor glitch was there when I left the game. It has something to do with the menu event and cursor location, it must happen when you hit enter. As it goes to the other screen (for some reason enter changes the option to the next one) the option must move down one but the cursor cannot move in time.. :S but i'm not sure.... I can't really pin point the problem (as of yet.. need to look a lot harder lol). But I'm sure PokeCreator_09 can.

Unzip the files and click on the RPG_RT.exe file. The game shold come then.
@DarkDoom3000. Yeah, I'm gonna fix that by turning off the menu open switch when you click save.
By the way, does anyone here know how to edit how the save menu looks. There has to be a way, even if it means edit the programming code. I have a decent looking menu and a crappy save menu.

I don't know about editing the save menu but I may be able to help you reduce lag. I read that if you put a wait0.0 before and after common event and others the it will realy help reduce lag.

its strange how that works.. makes no sense but it works lol. I never put that in because I was well.. lazy lol too many events to put it in.
The save menu is hard coded.. you'll have to find a way of pulling apart the rpg_rt and editing it. I'm no exe hacker.. so I can't help maybe someone else knows how?

I wouldn't take out the new game option in the game. Th eway I'd have it is edit the conotinue button to say Press Start. Then it would take you to the intro screen and then it would take you to the standard gameboy continue, new game, options screen. It would take alot of work, but If I could just take out the other two options and edit the word continue to say press start, I could do it.

Oblivion: Download the zip file, not the rar file and that is fixed, or should be. I changed the speeds around and It got messed up a little. I only left the rar file so that people who couldn't use zip or can't download from that site have an alterative. I'll try to upload a new rar file.

while playing those demos are there supposed to be places where well...nothing happens?
Cause while I was playing (the story itself was still progressing) some things were being left out...like I would try to talk to some ppl and nothing woudld happen like the nurse joy in the pkmn center. Also your pokemon and items do not show up? And when I'm walking through the grass I dont get that moving grass thing or the sound either...Is this normal for everyone or.....
If this is normal perhaps you got rushed into making the demo or maybe you should have worked on it alittle more before releasing the demo???

Yes, it's supposed to be like that.
I'm gonna say this again. Yes, there are bugs. Alot, but I only released a demo so that people could tell me what to improve on and what didn't work. If people don't talk or the grass doesn't have an effect, then I haven't put it in that area. The menu is not finished yet, so no, the pokemon won't be visible.
I still need a couple of spriters for 50 new pokemon.
And DarkDoom,
I don't know how anyone can live without walmart. It's every store roled into one.
@Krim: I don't know, but if they don't have them in Diamond and pearl, then it won't be at it's full potential.
Edit: I put the trainer card machine in. This means your name will show up on your trainer card, and there's a machine in the professor's lab that actually does something.lol.

it would be hard lots of events, like for each letter for each space...if there was 10 slots for name input...( like 10 letters for the name) then that would mean theres 141,167,095,653,376 diffrent names...

What I did was make the hero enter his/her name at startup likie usual. Then, after the hero talks to the professor, he has to use the trainer card machine before he can leave the lab. I made it to where you can only have six letters on the trainer card. So, I sprited a letter tileset and had 26 pages on each event, that each had if condition var:name(1,2,3,4,5,6)=(1-26) and applied the charset.
It's really not hard, Just alot of eventing and a whole lot of time.

Okay, question for RM2K3KID: How did you get the numbers to appear back to back on the trainer card(no spaces between them)? I took your number charset and replaced the numbers with the font from RSE. I had to have two chaarsets, but I made them exactly how you made the numbers, and put them into the events exactly how you put them in the money events, but it didn't work. I have the basic structure laid out, but it's not working right now.
Edit: Nevermind. I found the part in the autostart event at the top of the map. WOW, I never would have thought of that, but it's genius.
Edit: I got the name system to wrk, but I have to fix some spacing problems, like with Z in this picture. I'm alo going to extend the character limit to 7, as that's what the GameBoy uses. I noticed that when I couldn't enter my full name, CHARZAR, which is the name I use on all of my GB games, which is also why there's a save named CHARZAR in the Demo. Well, here's a pic:

Hey guys, I need your help.
I really need a background for the TCMachine. I ripped the one from FR but it looks like crap when you stretch it out. The dimensions I need are 320x240. I'm in no hurry and I could do this by myself, but once again, this is a way to get your name in the credits.
Edit: Hey, I applied the wait 0 sec. thing to all of my common events and it stopped it from lagging alot. My computer is running kind of slow so I don't know if it's running completely smooth or if it's my computer. I'll restart my computer after my downloads are finished and see what happens.

I'm going to have the hero enter their name in the intro as usual. After you talk to the professor for the first time, he'll ask you to goto the trainer card machine and enter your name in the trainer database. This allows the trainer card to display the hero's name without text boxes. It also sort of bugs me that in the GBA games you start with a triner card before you even start on your quest. Anyways, it's a solution to a problem that I had to think about.
Edit: I'm going to start taking people to add as trainers in Liquid as soon as I figure out how many I need. When I tell you I'm taking trainers, here's the information you need to give me:
1. The number of your request. I'll only be taking a certain amount of trainers,
so the first person to request will put one, the nhe next person will put
two. please do this, I don't wantr to have to ignore a request because
somebody tries to lie.
2. Your Name
3. Your Pokemon
4. Difficulty
5. You sprite(add one if it's a custom sprite)
6. Gender

Edit:This is not a hack, It's a game made with RM2K3. It's made from scratch(well, sort of). And yes, I'm looking for about 50 new pokemon and would love to see what you've got.
Edit:Due to pokecommunity cutting off every twenty minutes, I'm mainly going to be updating in my forum. The link is in my sig, and so that I can start getting people there, I'll only be taking trainers for my game in the thread there. Tobbelin, that means you get asecond chance.
Now, I'm thinking about searching on the internet and finding fake pokemon and making them better. If you goto Serebii, there are two from there that I'm going to use. I still needa spriter though.
Edit: Well' it looks like PC is back up at the moment, soo I'll post.
I really need somebody to help me figure out which colors the footprints need to be for the snow. That's right, snow footpriints. I'm going to us the same footprints as the beach, but a different color. I feel they need to be real dark blue, but I cna't figure out the color. If anyone can help, that'd be great.

Anyway about those footprints... didnt you like the ones I made? If you havent seen them look at the snow_fp.xyz its in the character sets.. or better yet look on the Mt Sabre map.. thats where the footprints were used.

Oh, Why do I keep skipping over things? Ilooked all over that map and didn't see the events and didn't think the snow footprints would be on a dif charset. They look good for the type of snow you used them on, but I may need a different color for the other snow. It looks like those will look good though.
Okay for new news: I just bought a midi keyboard so now I can actually make more music for the game. Believe me, this won't be crappy, as I'm pretty skilled as a musician. The only problem is that I don't have a midi to pc cord. Does anybody here know where to get one cheap? I looked all over the internet and rhe cheapest I found were $20, and that's on ebay. I'll be able to get one in a couple of weeks, but I really need it now.
Anyways,it's good to se somebody post.XD I plan on finishing up the battle system soon, so there will be more scrrens soon. Also, I've decided to put a clothing system in, but it's going to be much different than Illusion's or anybody elses.
We'll any feedback or comments are welcome.

Okay, not many updates but I've decided that I'm gong to put two new pokemon early in the game. You know, sor of like sentret or rattata, but not as weak as rattata.
Also. starting on the 31st, I'm going to be staying with my grandma for a week, maybe two. She doesn't have DSL, so I won't be able to check this thread every thirty minnutees like I do now. I'll still be working on the game though, and I'll still updaate.

Make sure you're dsownloading the Rar file. Use thre bait and three rock. It won't be that way in the game, meaning it'll be harder to catch, but not difficult.

I have alot going on right now with school, band abd other stuff. I made the all-region jazz band and it took alot of work.
Anyways, I'm going to work all day on this project today and hopefully get some progress done.
