I had braces for two years of my life, but thankfully, my teeth and jaw are all better now. It was really hard for me, personally, as I had to adjust to having all that equiptment in my mouth and learn to play flute with it in. Then, just as you're getting comfortable with it, the yank it all out and you have to get used to THAT!

I had braces for about three years. Last month I got them off but I have to wear these really painful retainers! Last night I was told to wear them to bed. It was pure agony.
But on the bright side, my teeth look good.

I have never had braces. And I don't think I'll ever need them. You wouldn't believe how many times people come up to me and are like, "Your teeth are so straight! Did you have braces?" When I tell them my teeth are just naturally straight, they freak out and seem so amazed...is it really that uncommon? XD;

...omfg. And I thought my three years was bad. x__X; Wow, do I feel sorry for you. XD;

Anyway, as I just said, I had braces for about three years, I think. I got them on December '00 and they came off...oh jeez, was it May '03 or '04? XD; I can't even remember now, but I think it was the former. Yes, it must've been because I don't remember having them for high school. I had them originally to make room for an impacted tooth they found. After they came off, I had a regular retainer for some time in addition to a permanent retainer bonded to the back of my teeth. A wisdom tooth came in so I couldn't wear the regular retainer anymore (and haven't bothered to since I got my wisdoms out XD) but the stupid permanent one is still there and it bugs me from time to time, especially since this year seems to leave it prone to having brackets break off and whatnot. x_x

I've bored you enough with my teeth for now. I'm going to bed. XD

When I was younger, I was told "oh, you might need braces, you're probably going to get braces", and stuff like that...and yet now, years later, I've not seen one sign of them. I've never had any real need to get them - which is good, since I don't need to add another problem to my teeth right now.

I still have them, hate it. The flossing is sooo much harder and when they tightened them..ugh I'm sore for a day or two.

I've had them since the summer of 7th Grade and turns out, I have another year. >.<(*ish going to be in 10th Grade).
