Try getting a Pokemon with False Swipe to guarantee bringing it to the lowest health possible.

There’s nothing else we can do to help you catch it. It’s all luck based. Just get 50+ Ultra Balls and hope that one of them will catch it.

My sympathies, I know what it's like when legendaries get stubborn, once it took me three days to catch Moltres :( Just keep at it as long as it takes, put him to sleep or burn him or zap him, beat him up and then throw those balls like you never've thrown them before!

PS: Think of it this way: the more times you reload, the greater chances you have of catching a SHINY Ray ;) A stretch, I know, but still ;)

Raise up your Delcatty & Blaziken, use Blaziken to weaken it since Ray's got double resistance to Fire, then send in Delcatty to keep it asleep and start tossing those Ultra Balls. If none of those work, by the time you run out of Ultra Balls, enough turns should have passed so that the Timer Balls should work well enough.

...Great, now I feel like playing Emerald all over again, lol!

Did you use your Master Ball to catch Latios/Latias?
Altough some people say to do that, you can easily catch Latios/Latias with a few Ultra Balls, and the right Pokemon (Wobuffet, because of its Shadow Tag ability). I did it, it is possible.
Then you can use your Master Ball to get Rayquaza.

It is a pain trying to get up the tower, and even more so when you can't catch Rayquaza... or when you run out of Ultra Balls.

Edit: Ah, you did. Shoot! Well, I hope my advice will help other Trainers too. Good luck on catching Rayquaza, Sakri.

i read this somewhere, i forgot where i did, but u should get the next pokemon:
shedinja@leppa berry and a lot of elixers for protect, or pp ups
moves:
- protect (TM)
- false swipe (eggmove)
- swords dance( just evolve him at lvl 25)
- something else, doesn't realy matter, but i prefer shadow ball, for some rough work

strategy: swordsdance attack to max, if he flies up, use protect, the other attacks cant harm u. hit hard, till he uses rest, quickly get him to 1 hp with attacks, false swipe last. timer ball him, because it will take a while to het to the point of catching, so i prefer those. much luck, u'll need it:P

Fly only has 15 PP so you'll only need one Ether/Leppa Berry to use that Shedinja.

Anyway, Great Balls are better to use on legendaries. It's a weird byproduct of the way catching pokemon seem to work. I find changing your balls every so often throws the legendary off guard (use Great Ball one turn, then Ultra Ball, then Poke Ball for the heck of it). If you have Timer Balls, wait until near the end, judge when it is low on PP and then throw them.

Also, False Swipe on legends isn't so great, since they seem to break out more at 1 HP. Ironically, I found it easier to catch Registeel at full HP than it was at 1 HP, just as an example.

you're right about fly, and 1 hp bad? does anyone have an idea why is that? i do have the same effect sometimes, full health: 1 pokeball, low health: 3 ultra balls. and the ball-switcing works, i've tried it a couple of times now, and it works as a dream.

But she had already used it on Latias :( A game with so many legendaries should have at least TWO MBalls ^^;

Well, it does if you get lucky in Lilycove......

well get him at red health. (as close to 1 hp as u can get) then you can throw some ultra balls. i actually caught him with a dive ball when i was fooling around with him..he was at 3hp....i dont care if u dont beleve me...anyway just do what everyone is saying

Hehe, yep, but you'd need the kind of luck you'd have if you managed to catch Ray with his HP full and a regular pokeball, so it comes down to the same thing ^^; And have that kind of luck, not many people do :(

Well, I did it with only 1 attack after three turns with a Timer Ball, so maybe I should try the lotto, lol...

Hey, there's nothing you can do but to keep on trying (or getting more balls).

Its completely luck based, it took me 15 tries to catch mewtwo (he fainted 14 times) and the 15th time, he was caught by the second ultra ball. See, its all luck based. (my deoxys (lvl 30) was caught with one ultraball XD)

My new 8th-or-so Kyogre was caught with just one Ultra Ball, too...but Rayquaza burned through 9. I guess it matters whether the legendary likes you or not..

Like toothache said, Great Balls are better. I think it was shanecdavis that said in another thread that he has had more luck using Great balls to catch legendaries than Ultra Balls. I also find it easy to catch them with Great Balls.
The success rate is higher.
