Long ago the world was covered in light. This light came from the sky, from a large ball called the Sun. It seems impossible to most people, but it’s true. These days, however; the only light that comes from the sky are the lights of helicopters and planes and occasionally the flame from a Pokemon. But this doesn’t make it any less true. So then, what happened? The story has been retold so many times by so many people, that the exact truth has been lost. However, there is still enough of the real story left to get the basic picture of what happened. When light still shone on the planet, there was an island in the middle of the ocean. In the exact center of this island was a shrine and in this shrine was a stone. This stone was the source of all light. The Sun was actually created and powered by the stone. But the stone wasn’t limited to just the Sun. It also created the light of the stars and the moon. The stone was called the Sunbeam Stone and the Sun was named after it.

This stone was kept safe by its location and by magic that surrounded the shrine. Very few had ever seen it and none ever held it. It was simply too much of a risk. But, as is the case with most things, there were people who wanted the power of the Sunbeam Stone for themselves. The ability to control all light on the planet would make them the most powerful beings in existence. These people were a young man and a young woman by the names of Elthro and Marissa. They devoted their entire lives to learning everything they could about the stone and devising a plan to obtain it. They were very intelligent and very powerful and eventually discovered a way to remove the stone from the shrine.

It took them nearly three years to complete their plan but they succeeded in taking it from the shrine. But before they could leave the island, they were attacked. The shrine had many guardians that none knew about. The duty of these guardians was to prevent the theft of the Sunbeam Stone. But Elthro and Marissa weren’t going to give up their prize easily. They managed to overpower the guardians and continued their escape. Knowing their battle was lost, the guardians did the only thing they could to keep the stone from the two. They destroyed it. A blast of their remained energy caused the stone to shatter into nine pieces. The guardians then sent the fragments to many different locations and hid them in a safe place. By doing this they kept the stone from Marissa and Elthro but they also caused the Sun, moon, and stars to go out. Ever since that day the world has been shrouded in darkness.

People searched for centuries, trying to find the nine fragments, but none were successful. Before they died, Marissa and Elthro left behind a message. They had found something on the island after the stone was destroyed. A clue to the locations of the Sunbeam fragments. Through years of study and research, the clue was finally solved. The answer was quite shocking. The stone fragments had been fused with nine people whose ancestors had been marked as worthy when the stone was first created. It was a last resort plan in case anything happened to the stone. With further research the identity of the nine was discovered. It was all over the news that the fragments of the Sunbeam Stone had been found at last. The nine who had a piece of their stone in their body were sought out. But, as usually happens, there were those who wanted the power of the Sunbeam Stone for themselves. Fear of these people and of what would happen to them if they were found, the nine went into hiding. After all, how would the stone fragments be removed from their bodies? There was no knowing if it was whole or if each fragment had become a powder-like substance and was now coursing through every part of their body.

The nine have recently joined together and are now on the run from everyone. They don’t want to be discovered by anyone while at the same time they want to find a way to remove the stone fragments from their bodies. Will they succeed, or will they be forced to give up their lives to return light to the planet?

Mine
Name: Kyra Kaikala
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Pokemon: Abra(Tero), Rapidash(Sacred), Flygon(Drake), Dewgong(Yulo), Sneasel(Core), Noctowl(Sariyah)
Personality: Kyra's a friendly girl who usually gets along well with people. She prefers to listen rather than talk but she'll speak up if she has to. If a problem arises she's always willing to help out but sometimes tends to get in over her head. She's a very intelligent girl and a quick thinker which makes a good problem solver and a better strategist. She has a good sense of humor and a better sense of fun. She loves to explore and never turns down a challenge if she can help it. She has a habit of being sarcastic in bad situations but she is serious when she has to be. Though normally pretty calm and mild tempered, when angered it's a good idea to stay out of her way. She tries not to let anything get under her skin and often hides her emotions so that others will have a harder time guessing what she's thinking or feeling at the time.
Description: Kyra is average height for a girl her age. She has a light skin which is a common feature, white hair that falls past her shoulders, and golden eyes. She likes to dress casually and comfortably and her clothes are usually dark colors. Her most common outfit consists of a black shirt with a golden dragon on the back, dark jeans, a simple brown trainer's belt with six Pokeballs on it, and occasionally a brown jacket. Around her neck is a black Pokegrear with a crack on the side. Though it no longer works, she keeps as a kind of good luck charm. She wears black sweat bands on her wrists, a black headband tied around her head, and a dagger strapped to her right leg hidden by her jeans. On her right hand is a tattoo of a silver star that she sometimes keeps hidden with a bandage. This is because it's a noticeable feature and she doesn't want anyone to discover her identity if she's forced to enter a town. This dark attire makes it easy to hide even if someone shines a light in her direction.
Other: Kyra is good with computers and other electronic devices. Her father was an engineer and her mother worked with computer programs which gave her ample opportunity to learn about electronics. Often she would sneak into her mother's study and watch her as she worked. Her parents thought it was funny that she sneaked around so much but she thought it was fun. She would often play that she was a spy and that her mother or father were working on some secret project that she had to learn about to save the world. When she got older she stopped but her games gave her the ability to sneak around without detection. This combined with the dark clothes she wears and her small size, means that she can spy on people without them being aware of it.

Name: Kirux Xenthon
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Pokemon: Dragonair (Cyst), Houndoom (Blair), Manectric (Byte), Vileplume (Pestal), Dodrio (Trin)

Personality: Kirux is a cold person, rude to people she doesn’t know. Silent and brooding, she is a tough trainer, and believes that pokemon are at their best when pushed over their limits. Kirux has strong belief in her opinions, and is headstrong when it comes to deciding. She spends most of her time thinking to herself, and is extremely reminiscant…to herself. She dislikes speaking with people, because Kirux believes that the only things people have to say to her are things that aren’t worth answering. Naturally an incredibly independent person, she dislikes being ordered around, and usually doesn’t do anything unless she feels like it. She is one of those people who doesn’t understand ‘teamwork’, and usually carries her own weight around. She will do things for herself, and nobody else, because she sees the world as ‘every-man-for-himself’. Extremely pessimistic, her words often have a blunt edge to them, and are more often then not, sarcastic. Rebellious at heart, she does anything she can to piss off any adults around her. She loses her temper very easily, and has zero patience for stupid idiots who don’t leave her alone, and these people count as mainly everyone, even people who consider her a friend.

Description: Kirux has short jet black hair, which is normally found plain and boring. Her long bangs are swept up for about an inch to her upper right, and then back downwards to her left, covering the entire left side of her face. She has piercing green eyes, and usually has a pallid look about her. Covering her frail thin frame is a black longsleeved scoop collar top, with a short olive green vest over it, unzipped. (Short as in, there is no body that covers her back or sides) On her legs is a plain black skirt, reaching midthigh, with 3 heavy olive green belts with plain, yet oversized buckles. Black leggings and a pair of black motorcycle boots that reach just below her knees, with olive criss-crossing laces. Her neck adorns plenty of silver chain necklaces, and a single black ribbon choker, while her hands are covered by black fingerless gloves and hug ever curve of her hand and fingers.

Other: To most people, she doesn’t seem like a very good trainer in matters of humane treatment.

I once had a character I was only able to use for about two posts. Since I put quite a bit of effort into him, I re-used several concepts from that character's profile. ^-^;;

Name: Raito Yume
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Pokemon: Ampharos("Thor"), Umbreon (“Twilight”), Starmie (“Vega”), Skarmory("Argent"), Onix("Obsidian"), “Vendetta” (Nickname of Raito’s final Pokemon. Raito’s other Pokemon consider this Pokemon to have come to fulfill the darkess left in their trainer’s heart by Ninetail’s demise. Raito only uses this Pokemon when angered or as necessity dictates. This Pokemon dwells in the Pokeball that was once Ninetails'.)
Personality: Despite his circumstances and somewhat painful history, Raito possesses a warm friendliness that can charm most anyone. Silver-tongued by the necessity of survival and with wit and wisdom gained from the past, Raito often perceives more about people and events than he reveals. Calm and even-tempered, Raito rarely angers—able to respond to even the most blatant insults with a mere smile. Though Raito once had a rather mischievous side, he finds himself not often able to reveal it anymore. During more serious circumstances, such energies are channeled into tactical skills and strategies. Overall, Raito has a natural charisma and apparantly-relaxed demeanor that mask the ever-calculating mind beneath.
Description: Raito's hair is mid-length and slightly unkempt, being a solid dark blue broken only by a few highlights of silver that stretch into the right side of his uneven bangs. Often partially covered by several strands of hair, Raito's eyes are of a deep blue tinged by silver. Some say that the glittering sliver spread that occasionally gains intensity within his gaze causes Raito's eyes to resemble the clear night sky that once was. In contrast to his slightly pale skin, Raito wears a loose, black sweater with the sleeves seemingly continually pushed up. Beneath the sweater is a simple, dark, short-sleeved shirt, seen only when he removes the sweater. About his waist is fastened a tied clip belt that holds up a pair of basic blue jeans. His shoes are a rather normal pair of black tennis shoes. Hanging around Raito's neck is a *necklace composed of a series of titanium orbs, while on his right hand is a multi-function sports watch accompanied by a pair of silver handcuffs--both cuffs being on the same wrist. On Raito's left wrist is a single chain **bracelet with a metal plate. Hanging from one of his belt loops is another silver chain to which is attached a pair of metal tags. Spread across Raito's shoulder, part of his back, and edging his neck is a burn scar. Raito also has a black backpack he usually keeps slung over one shoulder.
Other:
A Little History - Raito’s first Pokemon was a Ninetails he met on a grey day in a graveyard. Having lived many years, the fire-type remembered the lights that once dwelt in the sky and recognized a remnant of that light within Raito. Befriending the boy, Ninetails protected and watched over him. And, as they grew closer, Ninetails was eventually able to communicate with Raito and tell him tales of the sun, moon, stars, and the world that lay beneath them. According to some, it is only after he met Ninetails that the light first shone in Raito’s eyes.

Unfortunately, as Raito was being chased by those who sought the power within him, Ninetails was struck down. And, as Raito attempted to protect his Pokemon, the fire Pokemon released one last burst of fire that destroyed many of Raito’s opponents, but also caught the trainer’s shoulder and burned it. What happened afterward, Raito rarely speaks of. But, the scar causes him pain to this day.

Talents - Raito is skilled with slight of hand—whether performing simple tricks, stealing a key card, or any other use Raito can find for his abilities. He also has a limited ability to mimic voices.

Misc. - Raito is left-handed.

** - A rather poor attempt at portraying the bracelet: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/tsayan/bracelet1.jpg

OOC: Alright I'm in! Hopefully this character's OK... It's a character I've used in, um... two RPGs that never started, and two more on another forum.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Suneora Ferenachi
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Pokemon:
:t053:Runaito
Runaito tends to be sneaky and malevolent. She can remain intently focused on her duties if she only has to worry about one thing, but if she has to multitask she'll instead focus on one thing at a time in order of importance. She also doesn't have a keen sense of rules--she likes to do things illegally, and she likes to cheat when she can. Though she doesn't think her decisions thoroughly through, she's very good with improvisation.
:t093:Sureana
Sureana "pulled a Ralts" when she first met Suneora, meaning she was drawn to Suneora because of her personality. She can be very affable with those who are clearly not normal and are not afraid of her, but she tends to be skeptical and/or cynical towards anyone else. Yet also, she's not very patient and gets bored very easily--she also likes to scare people or tell a joke when bored. And in a battle or on the job, she's almost as malevolent as Runaito...
:t308:Asachiwa
Asachiwa is the benevolent and polite one. She's not very good at getting angry--in fact she hardly ever does. Also, she's very eager to help out, whether it benefits Suneora or a stranger. In fact, no one is really a stranger to her... She trusts others very easily, and she justs let fate do its work in her decisions, or others' decisions. Also, as opposed to Sureana, she's very patient and believes that things will come when they come. She won't try to take things by force very often.
:t314:Suthemai
Suthemai is the sweet, innocent one. She flatters others easily just by looking cute--in fact Suneora found her where a bunch of Volbeat were marveling her, and Suthemai just blushed and squirmed in shyness all the time. And in fact Suthemai is very shy, and going with that she's not very brave. She gets scared very easily, and she hates taking risks. She has to know plenty of details about what is to be done before she goes and does it.
:t148:Kaleni
Kaleni is calm overall, and she often loses touch with the world around her. It takes her a while to figure things out and to "get back to reality". However, she can blurt something right inbetween her moments of spacing out. Speaking of which, Kaleni is a perfectionist--she likes things done the way they are planned, and if things go out of hand she's the one who suggests fixing it. Also, she likes to correct people and can be annoying in that way--for example, she often points out Suneora's grammar errors when she's talking.
:t201-s:Su-Kanaori
Su-Kanaori is anything but direct. It always either hints at things or beats around the bush, never just stating what it has to say. It especially likes to "speak in riddles". One can grow into a clever intellectual or puzzle-solver just by figuring out what Su-Kanaori really means to say. Perhaps that is what it wants in Suneora and fellow Pokemon--to keep their minds sharp... Anyways, Su-Kanaori was Suneora's first Pokemon.
Personality: Suneora often seems eccentric because she comes from such a faraway place. She often feels lonely and depressed, probably due to homesickness. Moreso, she often feels like she doesn't really belong anywhere--one flaw takes her out of place. However, she does like Pokemon battles because there she feels connected to her Pokemon and with the magic that would have made her fit in her homeplace. She is emotionally fragile in general--being teased greatly hurts her, and being complimented flatters her. But the good thing is that Suneora follows her heart, trusts and loves her Pokemon, doesn't take losing too badly (it gets her depressed rather than upset or angry).
Description: Suneora is a couple inches short of five feet tall. Her eyes are a deep shade of emerald, and her hair is a much darker green and falls down between her shoulders and her waist. She wears a white shirt with elbow-length sleeves that match the color of her eyes, plus dark indigo pants that are so light and baggy that they almost look like a skirt, and blue sandals underneath them. Finishing all that is a necklace with an amethyst charm in the shape of a crescent moon, topped with three ruby stars and with a tiny black raven hanging from it.
Other: To make a (fairly) long history short, Suneora comes from some sort of unknown island (well, in some RPG's I say she's from another planet), and on that island there were Pokemon, but no "official" Pokemon trainers. What does this say about Suneora? First of all, her English is OK but not excellent, as it's her second language. (In past RPG's I've had her slip in the other language she speaks occasionally...) Second, Suneora never keeps her Pokemon in Pokeballs--technically, she never even "captured" them. Third, she doesn't have a Pokedex nor any other sort of identification, so she is literally an "unofficial Pokemon trainer".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah, it'll be so nice to work with a character I know very well... I'm looking forward to how this RPG progresses!

**If the Trozei pictures don't show up in the Pokemon section, Suneora's Pokemon are (in the order that they are listed): Persian, Haunter, Medicham, Illumise, Dragonair, and S Unown. Yeah, I'm aware that Kirux also has a Dragonair... I'll try not to confuse them...

I'm here ta' join! ^-^ Yay for Raito, I'm left-handed too! Huzzah!

Name: Aisling Aheron

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Pokemon:

Irikail (Slowking)- A rather intellegent pokemon, and one who named himself, Irikail has grown this high and mighty attitude. He used to be a simple, very dumb Slowpoke, but he now acts as if those days never existed. Shamed by his earlier behavior, he now acts as if he has been reborn. Any referrence to his old days makes him angry and embarrassed.

Faafi (Farfetch'd)- Faafi and Irikail were Aisling's first pokemon. They were sold together and so they have an odd bond formed by time. Faafi is playful and carefree, often bothering the now serious Irikail. She doesn't mind making the Slowking angry, for Faafi is the only one that Irikail will stand aside from Aisling.

Nummers (Numel)- Nummers is much like his trainer, but even slower and more dim-witted. He just seems to like eating grass and snacks and then going to bed. He doesn't look forward to anything but mealtime. Everytime Aisling brings him out, he sniffs her hands to check for a treat.

Ko (Weezing)- Being a female Weezing is hard. No one thinks you're beautiful and everyone thinks you smell. Ko dreams of being the prettiest pokemon, but knows she will never reach this goal. She would even settle for being simple like Aisling. Because of this view of herself, she tends to make lots of brooding comments to herself.

Personality: Aisling is a simple person. That would be the nice way to put it. She is caring and sweet, and her heart's always in the right place... but she's just-- slow. She's easily awed and easily tired out. Big words make her head hurt, she is mesmerized by sparkling things and fire, and complicated matters are something that seems to make her motion sick. She tends to use "Wow...!" a lot in her speech, for she is almost always in surprise at things. Despite her lack of smarts, she is outgoing and tries to be helpful. Her tactics in battle are not the most... orthodox, and she usually relies on luck or last-minute mini brainstorms to win.

Description: Aisling is a pretty short person, but she's not very skinny. She's not overweight, she's just got a little chubbiness in her face and rump. Some would call her frumpy or plain. She wears a simple earth-toned dress that has fairly wide shoulder straps. Her shoes look worn-in and are sandal-like. Her hair is shoulder length and dark brown. Her eyes are the most interesting part of her though as they are a bright green and tend to stand out compared to the rest of her. Her posture and expression makes her look a bit spacey.

Other: Her family is known for their telekinetic prowess, and so Aisling likes to think that she has inherited this. However, she has never shown any psychic powers, and so her mentioning of any 'visions' or 'feelings' is usually wrong. Unless she gets lucky.

"Ehh...it took a while for me to get this written, but it's done. Hope you like it and if there's anything that needs to be changed just let me know. =3

Name: Satoru Hikari
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Pokemon:

Duskull "Yoru" (Male)

Satoru's first truly own pokémon, Yoru spent many lonely years of his life roaming the halls of his old master's manor under strict orders not to disturb him by entering his study. Unfortunately, the old man had not anticipated the sudden stroke which became his demise, nor the undying loaylty of the Duskull he had originally caught as something to talk at so as to not go insane and so Yoru was well into his second century of floating across the halls when Satoru discovered the Duskull and, after a lengthy discussion on the concept of life spans and human necessity to eat, managed to convince the ghost pokémon that his old master was dead. Bewildered and terrified by this new information, Yoru took to following the boy like a stray puppy, and although Satoru was originally annoyed, not to mention a good bit spooked, by the Duskull's constant presence, they have developed a strong bond of friendship over the years. Even though he might not be the brightest crayon in the box, Yoru is very social and affectionate by nature. He loves meeting new people and making friends with them, but representing a notrious species of pokémon capable of striking fear into the burliest men with a mere glance has posed its own difficulties. Still, Yoru is not one to give up so easily, and having found a trusted friend and master in Satoru, there seems to be nothing that can shake the Duskull's confidence and optimistic outlook.

Victreebel "Hana" (Female)

Calling Hana sleepy would be an understatement akin to calling Satoru's current situation slightly inconvenient. Deprived from the energy provided by sunlight, this Victreebel spends most of her days asleep, either in her pokéball or somewhere close to her trainer, and a constant source of light is needed to keep her awake. When she does wake up, Hana isn't exactly a ray of sunshine either, often mumbling out grouchy remarks in a quiet voice and wondering why on earth she had to be bothered. Even while asleep, she does possess something akin to consciousness, registering the events around her and usually attempting to eat anything that walks within reach. This aparent instinctfulness and lack of conscious thought is, however, not as much a mental condition as a biological one, the Victreebel's flower-like body still yearning for the process of photosynthesis, even though she has never felt real sunlight, even back in her, slightly more active, days as a little Bellsprout, during which Satoru encountered and subsequently caught her. Although Hana is generally disregarded as not having anything worthwhile to say, she actually possess a very keen mind and often understands things far better than her companions. But hey, it's not like she's going to share it if no-one bothers to ask now, is it?

Espeon "Camoran" (Male)

A rather enigmatic case as evolutions go. Despite the lack of sunlight, Camoran has somehow managed to evolve into his current form. The Espeon himself would of course attribute this to his "superior" intellect and "natural" talent for psychic powers, but the general consensus is that the den in which he was born was exposed to the combined radiation of several sunstones in the soil, causing the evolution. Whatever the case, Camoran soon became shunned by the Umbreons his pack consisted off and consequently strayed into human settlements where he also ran into Satoru. Hungry and disgruntled, the Espeon decided to take the only path which he considered to be worthy of his "obvious talents, more or less forcefully joining up with the boy's party of pokémon. In terms of personality, Camoran is rather self-important and arrogant, deeming himself the senior and intellectual superior of the group and consequently feeling the urge to voice his opinion on everything. When he does this he is also very touchy about people interrupting or disrespecting him and often laments how he is underappreciated and how his talents go to waste, and the fact that Yoru is probably a good century and a half older is not exactly helping his self-esteem. For all his talk, Camoran is a bit of a scaredy-cat when things get serious, but call him out on that and you'll never hear the end of it. Regardless, a hidden bond of trust and something akin to friendship has grown between Camoran and the others, and even though the haughty Espeon would never admit it, he would rush to their aid at a moment's notice should their lives truly be in danger.

Altaria "Chichiro" (Female)

Somewhat whimsical as pokémon go, Chichiro is fascinated by all things bright and shining, often poking her head into other people's belongings to see what's inside and when she does get a shiny object into her possession, getting her to let it go is no small feat. When not treasure hunting, the Altaria is usually either perching on Satoru's shoulder or fluttering arround him in dizzying patterns, often singing just for the joy of it. The boy originally encountered Chichiro when she was still in her egg, his and Yoru's combined efforts saving the Swablu-to-be from a nasty end in the stomach of a hungry Sneasel who had come to raid the nest. Spotting Yoru, the newly hatched bird pokémon did what came naturally and declared the Duskull to be her father, which left Satoru with little options but to take the Swablu along and raise her as well. Teaching the young hatchling to fly turned out to be something of a problem, however, as Yoru's brand of flight did not require wings, leaving the Swablu rather baffled as to what said appendages were there for. Still, with time and patience, both of which Yoru had in abundance, Chichiro eventually mastered the art, although her flying is still not quite as graceful as that of other Altarias. Even though she technically knows better now, Chichiro still seems to regard Yoru as something of a father figure and has consequently grown attached to Satoru as well.

Personality: Originally named after a word signifying deep and lasting learning, the fact that his parents didn't get said word quite right could very well be taken as something of a warning as to what was to develop of the boy. Satoru is intelligent enough, certainly, and his ability to think on his feet has gotten him out of trouble more than once, but any deeper level of comprehension or zenness can hardly be ascribed to him. Satoru is a curious and active boy who loves to learn new things and see new sights, but because of this inherent curiosity, he finds it difficult to focus on any one thing for longer periods time, his mind and imagination always wandering off with him. Because of this flightiness, Satoru has experienced a bit of trouble in making close friends, but his generally positive attitude and innocent demeanor go well with most people. Well, at least it used to before word got out that he supposedly carried part of a sun within his body. Satoru is not one to let a small issue like being one of the most wanted individuals on the face of the earth bother him, however, viewing the escaping and hiding routine as just another experience to be had.

Description: Pretty much averagely sized for a boy of his age, Satoru's longer-than-average legs and somewhat lanky build combine to make him seem taller than he really is. His hair is of a solid jet black colour, ending a bit before his shoulders at the back while stray strands poke out a bit here and there on the front and sides, sometimes falling over his eyes and always giving off that impression of a hairstyle left just slightly unfinished. His eyes are light brown in colour, although they sometimes seem to take on a peculiar, almost golden, glow while he's musing over the empty night sky. These moments are brief and far between, however, so most dismiss this as some kind of optical illusion. His skin is of the fair colour which is usual for the region, and while he doesn't actively work out, his broad shoulders and slightly above average strength seem to indicate another talent left untapped. On the clothing side of things, Satoru prefers to keep things fairly simple, usually wearing a plain, dark blue or black t-shirt with a white jacket, always left open, on top as well as a pair of simple, blue jeans - held up by a utility belt for pokéballs and other small items - and a pair of dark brown shoes, not the most fashion-conscious of outfits, perhaps, but comfortable enough. He also has a dark blue backpack in which he carries his belongings and wears a peculiar little accessory around his neck which consists of an ordinary, albeit nice and shiny, thin metal rod shaped into the outline of a star symbol which is attached to a metal locket chain. The craftmanship is amateurish at best, and according to Satoru he just found it lying around while investigating his grandfather's attic, but he seems strangely attached to the object nonetheless, treating it as a sort of good luck charm.

Other: Satoru is an enthusiastic amateur artist and his trusty sketchpad is rarely found far from his side. Due to his restless nature, the pictures rarely become anything more than sketches, however, as drawing is simply another one of the countless skills he is too undisciplined to master.

Her parents gave birth to her late and they died of old age, though a few months apart, when she was she was 15. She does not hate the world but lives by her self and is constantly traveling. She has a pure heart, she just needs to be endured, to get through her shell. her parents’ deaths hit her hard even though her parents were fit and she was expecting them to come soon.

Over that, cassie wears a black leather coat (like neos). Her hair is long, down to her waist and is always down, but she keeps it out of her eyes with a red hair band. Her emerald green eyes are full of knowledge.

Other: cassie wears a pendant given to her by her parents, which she wears around her neck. Each parent had one half of a whole and since she put it together she hasn’t been able to take it apart. It is in the ying yang symbol, though with out the small dots and made of amethyst and tourmaline in a shade of orange. She never takes it off, as it was the only thing her parents really cared about. (this is not a piece of sunbeam stone, obviously, it is a sentimental item.)
she knows several types of karate and is a black belt in all of them. she has a katana on her belt and walks with a staff, which she uses a a bo staff if need be. she has no problem but she always uses the staff.

Thanks very much for joining. Now we wait for the last person to come. ^_^

Edit: I meant to have started this already but I have writer's block. I can't think of anything to put in my IC. ^^;

Edit2: We start now.

IC: "Sacred use Smoke Screen!" A cloud of dark smoke blotted out the little light that shone from the headlights and flashlights of the small band of people who had gathered. All of them were after something she had and she knew what it was. She wasn't about to let them catch her if she could help it though.

Kyra gripped Sacred's fur tightly and turned her around. "Come on girl, we have to move!" The large fire horse let out a shrill neigh then charged off into the darkness. Kyra looked around carefully as the land sped past. She was looking for any sign of her companions. She wanted to tell them about what had just happened and that they needed to move on soon.

She had just been wandering around with Sacred when she had come across a man examining the tracks left by a Pokemon. When he heard her he looked up. Had she known he was looking for the eight people with a Sunbeam fragment in them she would have been more careful. As soon as he got a good look at her he recognized her. He called someone on his cell phone then came over to talk. She moved quickly to get away but about five others appeared so fast it was as if they had been teleported there. They probably were, she reflected with a sigh. She had barely managed to jump on Sacred's back before they had sent out Pokemon and advanced.

Sacred began to slow down as they entered a thick part of forest. It wasn't too far from here that she and her companions had set up camp. She doubt any of them would be back by now, they had all gone off to do some exploring earlier, but she could at least find shelter for a while and start to pack up her things. She climbed off Sacred's back and gave her friend a grateful pat before setting to work. There wasn't must to do because she hadn't brought very many things with her. A small dagger that she kept strapped to her leg, she had left it behind when she had gone exploring, some food, a change of clothes, and some money, all of which fit into the backpack she carried.

Once she had everything packed away neatly she set about making something to eat. She hadn't eaten in over a day and she didn't think her companions had either. If they had to run again then they shouldn't be hindered by hunger. The last thing they needed was anything that would slow them down. The meal consisted of a vegetable soup and some bread. Not gourmet or the best tasting but it would do to fill them up.

Once it was ready she took a portion for herself and sat down to eat it. She didn't gulp it down as fast as she could, there was no point. Until everyone came back there was no point in rushing. She could have gone out to look for them, but it seemed pointless. It would take far longer to track everyone down than to just wait for them all to come back. So that's what she did. Sacred shook her beautiful and snorted then began to nibble on the small patch of grass she had found. Kyra looked around, every sense on alert, hoping that her other seven companions would arrive soon.

{No, no, NO! Thin strokes, boy, thin strokes!}

Camoran let out an exasperated sigh, once again shifting his position completely and more or less ruining the sketch-in-progress by doing so, his trainer lazily allowing the pad to slide down into the grass next to him, his eyes wandering off to the pitch-black sky above as the Espeon's angered words rushed over him.

{One of my magnificent stature must be portrayed with the correct amount of dignity and grace that I exhude naturally, anything short of it is, I regret to say, an insult to my name, an inexcusable-are you listening to a word of this, boy?!}

Satoru nodded absent-mindedly, turning his pendant back and forth in the palm of his hand, "Yeah...thin strokes...magnificent stature...inexcuseable...what do stars look like?"

{What?} the Espeon blinked, frowning a bit, {You're spacing out again, aren't you?}

"You're a sun pokémon, right?" the boy persisted, taking no notice, "The sun is just a big old star, that's what grandma always used to say, so do you know what stars look like, right?"

{I...} the Espeon shifted uncomfortably. If there was one thing he hated, it was questions he couldn't answer, {Boy, there are some questions in this world which just-}

"Wouldn't it be silly if they looked like this?" the boy went on, apparently completely oblivious to his pokémon's words, "You know, all hollow inside? I saw that in a dream once..." Camoran wasn't sure, but the boy's eyes almost seemed to glow a little at the statement. Something he was sure of, however, was that there was something decidedly unnerving about the direction this conversation was taking, well, if you could call it a conversation in the first place.

{Look, boy...} he began, {Have you been eating lately? You know lack of food can sometimes cause-} he paused, suddenly beginning to sniff the air. There was a scent there...a familiar scent, {Boy, I smell soup.} the Espeon declared, {And as your senior and guardian I hereby demand that we loacte it right this instant. March!}

Satoru blinked, wordlessly picking up his sketchbook and tucking it under his left arm before hoisting his backpack over his other shoulder. Camoran scoffed, why did that boy have to be halfway through with absolutely everything? Any normal person would have put the sketchbook in the pack and put the pack on properly, but he just couldn't seem to bring himself to do it. Still, there was something more important to consider right now...there was food.

{Follow me, boy.} the Espeon stated, his haughty posture returning as he strode down the path towards the campsite, {My indomitable sense of smell shall lead us to the source of the nourishment. Onward! Boy, are you coming or what?}

"Yeah..." Satoru replied, tearing his gaze away from the constantly dark sky above. The clearing had really been a find, a small spot of grass with a clear view to the sky amidst the thick canopy, a small haven all in itself, complete with a comfortably flat stone for sitting on. He sighed, absent-mindedly brushing a few strands of black hair from his eyes. Camoran did have a point, it had been quite a while since they'd eaten last, what with all those silly people chasing them and wanting to dismember his body and all.

The journey itself wasn't that long as, it soon turned out, all the twists and turns that their path had taken had left them with quite little real distance from their starting point, and soon the canopy cleared up once again, revealing their campsite and a solitary figure who currently had her back turned to the boy.

"Hullo...Kyra." Satoru greeted in his usual airy manner, finally recognizing the girl and giving her a somewhat sloppy wave for a greeting before allowing the pack to slide of his shoulder and onto the ground next to her, a makeshift chair on which the boy quickly seated himself, "Find anything interesting?"

{Oh for crying out loud, boy.} Camoran hissed in exasperation, {I swear your mind is flying with the clouds, we came for food, remember?} he strode over and stared impatiently at the soup pot, {Are you going to ask for food or what?}

Under the clouds in a pitch black night a purple and black blur speeds across the ground. A large starmie hovering vertically with a tall female dressed in black standing on its back in a reasonable stance to retain balance. A faint purple glow around the starmie and the girl’s eyes signifies a psychic connection. A long wooden staff is held in her left hand and a black sheath and the handle of a katana on the left side of her belt. She looks ahead with the help of her starmie and sees a thick forest about a two kilometers ahead and a group of people about 500 meters ahead.
“Starmie. Turn the light off okay? I don’t think those people will be friendly.”
In a matter of seconds she reaches the group and by some really bad luck one of the people lifts their arms up and hits one of starmie’s arms. The girl gets thrown off her starmie by the sudden jolt and flies 5 meters, landing in the mud. She takes five seconds to recover and then leaps to her feet.
Every one in the group starts yelling. “She’s one of them, we missed the one with the rapidash, get her!” The girl quickly picks up her staff and calls starmie with the psychic connection.
“Let’s go starmie. Quickly!” The purple starfish pokemon rushes over and Cassie jumps on to it. She zooms off again and a few minutes later they reach the forest. Starmie slows down and cassie returns her to her pokeball. Walking into the forest she comes across a camp quite deep in the forest. Looking around she sees a rapidash nibbling on grass and a beautiful girl with white hair eating some food. “Hey Kyra whats up? Have a run in with people? I almost got caught by a group and the yelled out something about ‘failing to catch the one with the rapidash’. So I guess we have to move out?”

OOC: Oho! I am here to post. ^^

Aisling
-----------------

Leaves were so very pretty. Yes, leaves had to be one of the most interesting things in the world. It was hard to see them in the blanket of darkness that now covered the world, but the small amount of light glowing from the top of a pokemon was enough to reveal their beauty.

"Wow... I think it's so pretty!" came a girl's voice. It was slow and soft, but full of wonder.

{Can we move along? Staying in one spot for too long is somewhat foolish,} responded a pink, crowned pokemon next to the girl.

She slowly turned her head to her pokemon, her expression still happy and complacent, "But the leaf...."

{GAH! Aisling forget the leaf! We have been here for ten minutes at least!} the pokemon prodded, looking very impatient indeed. He couldn't understand what she could have possibly been thinking... though, considering it was Aisling, she probably wasn't thinking at all.

"Aww, Irikail, I miss the times when you were a little Slowpoke. You used to stare at lots of leaves with me," Aisling said, her expression showing a bit of sorrow while still keeping its usual placid look.

The large pokemon near the two talking seemed to be munching at the ground, its soft glow of firelight coming from the hump on its back. It was a Numel, and it didn't seem interested in the two friends' argument at all.

{That was stupid. I'm much better now! Smarter, stronger; it's as if my mind has been freed from a prison. I don't want to be reminded of those times!} the grumpy Slowking said gruffly, folding his arms, {I'd never want to go back to what I was!}

Aisling's expression became a bit sadder, even her normally bright green eyes began to look a bit dull. Suddenly, the forest leaves began to rustle, and Aisling swore she could even hear some people in the distance. With a burst of light and a strong rush of wind, a lovely young girl riding on a Rapidash flashed by the small group, heading for where they had come from.

In the breeze that the two had created, Aisling's dark brown hair and matching earth-toned dress blew around quite a bit. Aisling stood there looking slightly confused. A Rapidash? A girl sitting atop it? They were running from something or some people... and they did look familiar to her. It was so hard to tell features in the dark though. Aisling stood with a frown for a few minutes, thinking to herself. When the smell of something cooking came to her, she suddenly brightened, as if a light switch had been flicked on.

"Oh, it's Kyra!" Aisling said in a voice that sounded much like a student who had just happened upon the answer to a hard question.

The Slowking's face was horrified. {Aisling we must move if she was being chased by someone! They will catch up to us!} he said urgently.

Aisling thought about this for a moment, frowning slightly again, but her attention was thrown off by a distracting noise. It was the sound of someone else in the forest, someone walking with a pokemon. Aisling squinted as she looked at the two figures. One was a boy, and the other a small, furry, purple thing by the looks of it. Small and purple? What kind of pokemon could that be? Aisling thought of all of the pokemon that were purple. Gulpin? No. Weezing? No, she had one of those. Arbok? No, it had legs. Nidoking?

Below her now scrunching face was the Slowking, looking less than thrilled about his trainer's obvious distraction. {Oh come now! It is clearly that boy, Satoru, and his Espeon! I figured this out the moment I saw them!} the pokemon said pompously.

Aisling's face lit up in the same manner as before. "Oh, it's Satoru!" she said slowly with her usual placid smile. She turned to her pokemon. "I figured it out Irikail!" she said, nodding.

Irikail, the Slowking, didn't look impressed. {Can we move now?!} he said anxiously.

Aisling was about to nod in approval, but something else caught her eye. It was another figure, a girl this time, returning her pokemon to its pokeball. She seemed to be escaping something as well, and Aisling frowned in the same way she had with the other two. This girl's pokemon was spiky, and shaped like a star. Cleffa? No. Staryu?

Seeing his trainer's face scrunching again, Irikail cut her off, {Oh not the pokemon guessing again! Aisling, let's just go back since we're probably in danger!} He was talking in a low voice now, thinking that it must be serious for three of them to have come back so quickly.

"Oh, it's Cassie!" Aisling responded, her face brighter. The Numel next to them sighed, the grass all around it was gone; he had eaten everything.

{Yes, now let's go! Before the others all decide to stop by and distract your small brain...,} Irikail said, the last part in an even lower voice. He turned and began to lead them toward the camp. Every now and them he had to stop Aisling from staring at something; an odd twig, her Numel's back, the canopy of leaves the made a patchy roof above them. It was quite a job. Aisling was always like this, easily facinated and always slow to realize things. It wasn't far to the camp, for they hadn't gotten far with their adventuring before Aisling had found what appeared to her to be the face of her father in a tree. She had thought it was a psychic signal from him, and proceeded to converse with the tree for quite some time before Irikail convinced her it wasn't talking back. The Slowking hadn't thought the tree's knot had looked like the girl's father at all.

When they arrived at camp, Aisling looked slowly from Kyra to Satoru to Cassie, smiling politely. She then walked up to them and spoke in her typical slow, soft voice, "I see you all are saying hello so... hello! I hope you had fun exploring. I got a psychic message from my Dad; I'm sure of it this time!"

"Ugh." I muttered, my chin against the palm of my right hand, my left hand resting lightly over my stomach. My stomach in question, was burning. Well, that, or, there were a million swords stabbing into it, or, it was twisting itself into knots, or, last night's dinner wasn't settling well, or, it was getting so empty that it was rebelling, or soemthing crazy like that. I had chosen to go out training with Blair and Byte, but they’d decided to go out hunting. In other words, they’d ditched my butt, and gone off. They’d come back later, I knew that, but really, this was something that truly truly sucked. I was too lazy to walk back, let alone- I didn’t have enough energy to do so, and I was muuuuuch too proud to get up and forage for food. I was probably too proud to admit I was hungry or lazy as well, so I was stuck here, being a proud little imbecile, and sucking up my stinging hunger and idleness to maintain a steady stream of indignity and independence from everything, and everyone else.

Oh, I’m babbling on about nothing again, aren’t I? Yes well, that’s what you have to live with. Oh, I’m talking to myself again, aren’t I? Yes well, that’s what you have to live with.

I looked up when I heard rustling in the bushes, and my laziness disappeared, as I got up and prepared to send out Trin to run- wait. TRIN! I almost slapped my forehead in my stupidity for not thinking of Trin, but now was not the time. If it was one of those weirdo’s who’d decided to hunt my butt like Byte and Blair were hunting some unknowing rattatta’s butt, I would be extremely peeved. Growling came from the bushes and I clenched my fists, already knowing what was behind that bush. Tumbling out of the bushes, Byte and Blair chased after a sentret, and were gaining fast. Annoyed, I stepped on the sentret’s tail to stop it, causing the two dog pokemon to try and stop before collision- too late though. They tripped on my foot anyway and were sent flying into the canyon wall, AKA, my backrest. Face first might I add.

“Sentret!” The little pokemon slapped it’s puny hands on my foot in a futile attempt to free itself.

“You scared the living @#%$ outta me.” I muttered darkly, as Blair slowly slid down the face of the cliff to meet land again in a rather lame, spread eagle position. Byte stayed where he was, in the air, because he’d released too much static electricity during impact. Blair quickly recovered and sat down, barking placidly,

<’Hey, everyone’s gotta eat, blame the sentret,’> He mashed his paw on the sentret’s tail, causing the sentret to freeze in fear, it’s face slowly turning a dark blue in fear, <’For running toward you.’> Blair showed all of his teeth to the sentret, making it scream it’s own name in fear.

<’Ahem.’> Byte mumbled, his muzzle slightly squished from the cliff wall as he stuck to it in a spread eagle position- much like Blair, just ever so much more humiliating and lame, <’Some help here?’>

“It’ll teach you to hunt AWAY from me.” I snapped, releasing my foot from the sentret’s tail and turning around so I wouldn’t have to watch Blair eat it, “Eat that far away from me as well.” I added, and Blair nodded, jumping onto the cliff wall and dragging Byte back down to earth, as the two ran out into the wilderness. I didn’t want to hear no pokemon dying, but before they disappeared into the forest entirely, I called after them, “Come back to the cave!” After that ruse, I could wait no longer.

“Trin.” I muttered, tossing out my Dodrio’s pokeball. Each head materialized, showing a scar on the left eye of the left head, a scar on the right eye of the right head, and a scar in between the eyes of the middle head. I still remembered how they’d gotten those scars, and it was more or less because of me. They didn’t particularly care, so I didn’t feel particularly guilty about it. It was a bad run in with a moody scyther was all, and in the end, we didn’t catch the scyther….which sucked. But either way, the three heads stared intensely at me, with the constant glare they’d donned for everyone and anyone since that incident. It was their way of saying, ‘nobody in the world is worthy of me’.

But they let me ride on their back anyway, and with their speed and now familiar mind and feet with the forest, it wasn’t long before they were hopping from ledge to ledge, climbing stright upwards to the cave, and reaching the edge, they jumped onto stable land, and I swear I was ready to puke the nothingness in my stomach. But I wouldn’t show that around these ‘friends’ or whatever, and I was already pale enough for a normal person not to notice. Returning Trin and falling through what used to be the large Dodrio, I landed and asked casually in a monotone that I wouldn’t have bothered to use with Byte and Blair, “So what’s on the menu?”

...Darn. Everyone was here. Well, almost everyone. I was really hoping for one or two people...not four.

"What is there an urgent meeting that I forgot about or is everbody here for the same reason as me?" I asked sarcastically.

OOC: Nyah, you know Melissa, I don't think Aisling would have much chance to be fascinated by the stars seeing as how they've dissapeared. You might want to edit that part...unless she's being psychic and seeing visions of the stars from the past, which I somehow doubt. xD Also, I thought the campsite was in a forest rather than a cave? Sorry for being a prick, I just can't help it...:embarrass

IC:

"Food?" Satoru blinked at his Espeon's statement, but before he could ponder this further, two more people had made their entry, one of them - Cassie, unless he was mistaken - simply proceeded to speak with Kyra and completely ignored his presence so Satoru decided to do the same, the other girl, on the other hand, was at least showing some manners.

"Hello." he replied, smiling at Aisling as she made her entry, "Aisling...right? And you got a psychic message from your father? What did he say?"

Camoran growled in exasperation, {Hello? Earth to boy? You have a pot of soup here and a hungry Espeon who needs to be fed. This is a campsite, not Airheads Anonymous.}

"No need to be rude." Satoru replied, absent-mindedly pulling out a small bowl from his pack and holding it over the soup pot. He seemed to at least believe himself to be putting soup into it as well, but because his attention was still completely elsewhere, the soup was just getting poured right back into the pot again, much to Camoran's annoyance.

{Boy, watch what you're doing.} he growled, {Bowl hand to the left. No, the other left, no, NO! Not that much! To the right, now! No, the other right! There, hold it and pour. There, now put it down. No, not in the pot, on the ground. There. Now let go! Sheez...}

The Espeon continued mumbling something as he strode over to the bowl which had, after the rather lengthy procedure, been placed in his reach with actual content in it, sniffing reproachfully at the substance within for a few moments before reluctantly tasting it.

{Right, whoever made this should be removed from cooking duty permanently.} the psychic type announced indignantly, {Although I could go into considerable detail by identifying the individual flavour components of this concoction, I'll just settle for fermented cat piss and leave it at that. I certainly hope that the bread isn't as bad as this-}

Satoru blinked, his attention now turning to yet another source as Kirux came bounding towards them on the top of her Dodrio, posing a question for the lot of them.

"Same reason?" he echoed.

{She means the cat piss-excuse me, "food".} Camoran snorted, the tone of his voice easily making the imaginary quotation marks fall into place, {She came to eat which, might I remind you, was what we came here for too.}

"Oh, right." Satoru replied, grinning sheepishly, "Yeah, I came for the food too. You want some?" he gestured towards the pot which still contained a good amount of soup within it, "I've got some more bowls around here somewhere if you need something to put it in." he continued, beginning to rummage within his backpack, "Or do you have one of your own? I think there's some bread around here too. Can't have soup without bread, right? Oh, and Aisling had a vision." he added cheerfully, looking up from his belongings for a moment while at the same time placing one of the bowls he had located on the ground next to him. Unfortunately, he hadn't bothered to check said ground first, and so the bowl immediately tipped over, narrowly missing Camoran's tail, "She was just about to tell us about it too, weren't you, Aisling?"

...A vision. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, that was a good one. But ignoring the absurdity of Aisling herself, I flipped out my own little plastic bowl and used the edge to scoop some soup into it, not bothering to use any kind of utensil's or something like that. Who cared? I didn't, and if the others did, well, too late. Sipping the soup slow enough not to burn myself, and slow enough not to give off the impression that I really was starving, I ate it silently, without complaint, even though it was too plain for my tastes. Let's see here, the only guy who'd given even the slightest recognition to me was...er...hmm...I definetely wasn't good with names. It started with an 'S' I knew that!! I'd have to ask Blair or Byte later. In the meantime, initiate operation 'avoid using anybody but Aisling's name'.

Only because the guy just said her name.... I looked over the edge of the small wooden bowl that I'd brought along with me before this whole fiasco started, and stared for a good minute at everyone. In silence. One guy. Four girls. In the cave at least. I kinda felt sorry for the dude, being surrounded by girls, but, really. If I cared, I wouldn't be Kirux, now would I?

I could hear Byte and Blair barking at each other before they even started scaling the cliffside, about who had gotten more sentret then the other. I tried not to think about the disgusting carcass that was most likely abandoned for a foraging pokemon to find. Byte insisted that Blair had gotten more, and Blair defended that in order for Byte to stay as fast as he was, he couldn't get fat. Highly insulted by the word, Byte retorted and there started an argument that continued from the base of the path leading to the cave, to the very entrance of the cave. Seeing their trainer's annoyed and 'close-to-exploding' expression, the two shut up.

...But continued their argument in silence. Byte sat on one side of the cave entrance, back to Blair. Blair sat on the other side of the cave entrance, back to Byte. They simmered in silence, shooting sidelong glares at each other every now and then. How stupid. Fighting over a sentret that was already dead. But I didn't bother to stop them. There was no reason to, as they were just arguing that's all. A natural part of my pokemon team, especially between Byte and Blair, and Trin's three heads.

Finishing off my soup and leaning against the wall of the cave I boredly watched the two idiot dogs duke it out. In silence.

"Anything special happen?" I asked boredly, tossing aside my now empty bowl.

Kyra looked up as one by one Satoru, Cassie, Aisling, and Kirux arrived. She returned Satoru's wave and gestured towards the food, indicating that he should help himself to some food. She was going to speak when Cassie appeared and mentioned a group of people who had talked about her escaping. She gave her a nod to indicate that it had been her and that she felt they needed to get moving.

Even though there were only five out of eight people present, she felt she needed to speak up. "Sorry if the food tastes terrible, I've never been the greatest cook. Also, I need to go ahead and tell you that I ran into some people who are looking for us. Me and Sacred managed to get away easily enough without them seeing which way we went, but they're bound to be searching the area. Now Raito and Suneora are still wandering around and we should wait until they get back to get moving, but we should pack up. There's no point in delaying ourselves by scrambling to pack after every one's arrived."

She glanced around, her eyes pausing on Sacred who had laid down after finishing her meal, then stood up and placed her bowl near the fire then walked over to her Pokemon. "Oh yeah, I might as well ask, does anyone know where the others are? If so then we can go get them and move on faster. I don't know how long it'll take those people the find us but they're bound to be searching the entire forest."

[OOC: Seems I missed a bit. ^-^;;]

Raito stood at the edge of a lake, his expression quiet as death. Slightly beneath the surface of the water hovered Vega, its central gem shimmering as it combined all its colors to form a white light. Silence prevailed about trainer and Pokemon--silence and darkness, save for the single light now distorted by a faint ripple in the lake. His features still emotionless, Raito lowered himself to a kneel beside the water's edge and slipped his hand noiselessly into the lake. Suddenly, the trainer flicked his wrist upward, casting a hundred drops of water into the air. At their peak, the drops froze--held motionless by Starmie's psychic force. Silver light surrounded each perfectly spherical droplet, though whether the light's source was psychic energy or a reflection of the glow of Starmie's gem, Raito was never sure. Slowly standing, Raito gazed wordlessly at the image before him, his eyes uncharicterisically dim.

Was this what the night sky used to look like? Even before Ninetails had told him stories of the past, Raito had always been curious about what had once been. And, after the fox Pokemon's death, Raito had created this image with ever-increasing frequency. Slowly raising a hand toward the miniature liquid stars, Raito gently grasped one of the orbs between his forefinger and thumb. The next instant, the trainer's fingers snapped togethe,r and the water droplet shattered into a rain of palely glowing mist.

As he lowered his hand, Raito quietly spoke. "Thanks, Vega. You can stop now." The drops of water fell softly back into the lake as the light about the Starmie's gem slowly faded. Raito lightly shook his hand free of loose water before wiping it dry on the side of his sweater. Then, slipping Vega's Pokeball into his hand, the trainer recalled his Pokemon. The Starmie vanished in a flash of red.

Returning the Pokeball to his belt, Raito paused to contemplate his surroundings. I wonder how long I've been away from camp. He glanced down at the lake before unslinging his backpack from his shoulder. The water seems fresh and clear here. Not sure when the next time is that I'll find a good water source. After refilling his water bottle, Raito zipped up his backpack and returned it to his shoulder. As he began to make his way through the forest, Raito's dark, azure eyes shifted about, constantly studying his surroundings. I shouldn't have lost track of time like that . . . Especially with this uneasy feeling I'm starting to get.

Several minutes later, Raito's eyes finally found something to focus upon. A fiery glow could be seen--still some distance away, but growing steadily closer. Shouldering his backpack, Raito murmured, "That's probably the others." Then, as an afterthought, "I wonder if the fire's a campfire or Kyra's Rapidash."

I guess it was both. Stepping quietly into the camp, a warm smile crossed Raito's features. Though careful not to raise his voice too much, he greeted the camp's occupants with a warmth in his voice equal to the warmth upon his features. "Hey, guys. Sorry if I'm late. Guess I just lost track of time." For a brief moment, Raito's features were apologetic and almost embarrassed. Seconds later, however, Raito's gaze fell upon Kyra and noted her serious expression.

The smile faded from Raito's features as he guessed the cause of the problem. "Someone found us again."

Kyra nodded in reply to Kaito's statement. "A group of people, five at least but I'm sure more have arrived by now. Cassie ran across them as well. We're well hidden here but that won't last for long. At the moment we're just waiting for you and Suneora." She sighed and leaned against Sacred. "I hope she gets here soon. I'm starting to make myself paranoid."

OOC: Oh no, you're not being prickish Alter. Actually, I had realized yesterday that I had made that mistake, but when I went back to edit it... the server decided to grace my computer with a big, fat Database Error for like the rest of the day. XD Yeah, I got a lot of posting done yesterday. >.> Grrr.

Aisling
----------------

Happy about the interest taken in her clearly psychic vision, Aisling nodded as Satoru explained to Kirux about it. Kirux's expression would have told anyone else that she was highly doubtfull about this vision business, and that she really didn't care. However, to Aisling, Kirux's expression was one of jealousy of her wonderful powers. Yes, jealousy.

"Well you see...," she began, but suddenly Kyra began to speak, and Aisling was in no hurry, so she gladly let the girl's urgent news go first. Kyra spoke of the group of people that had found them.

Aisling's mind tried to wrap around that. As usual, when someone found them, they had to do something. It depended on how bad it was, sometimes people surprised them and they had to fight to escape. This time was better though, because no one had come into their camp. Yet. Aisling, as slow and dull as she was, felt a little afraid.

She brightened a little when Raito came into camp sporting a smile, but the mood shifted back to the sadder side as Kyra made it clear what was going on. Raito had guessed it anyway.

Wait! This presented an opportunity for her! She smiled her usual placid smile. "That's what my vision was!" she said softly.

Irikail was watching the very up-tight Camoran barking about the soup, it was always refreshing to know you weren't the most prickish pokemon, which only served to make the Slowking feel even more superior. He had also noticed the dead Sentret that those two barbaric pokemon, Byte and Blair, were fighting over. 'Pathetic' he thought to himself, 'I wonder if they'll ever get a chance to be as advanced as me.' He looked up from his inner praising when he heard Aisling speak about her 'vision'.

{What?} he said with a skeptical look.

"Yep, my Dad was a face in a tree, and...," she paused, looking for the right words, her brow furrowing, "His eyes! Yeah, his eyes were pointing in the direction opposite of right, which is left, and that's where those people were coming from! It was a thing that tells us to be careful, you know; a warning!" She looked around at them, nodding as if to say, 'yes see! It was a real vision!'

{Rubbish, absolutely rubbish!} Irikail said bitterly, extremely annoyed at his trainer's attempt. There was just no way around it- she just wasn't psychic. Psychics, true ones, didn't have to make things up.

I listened to Aislings vision. I never believed in this psychic stuff, unless it came from pokemon, like an Alakazam or something, but I wasn't about to say aloud 'wow. That's a load of bull right there' to her face. So instead I picked up the bowl, deposited it in one of my many pockets and walked to the edge of the cave, one hand on the wall as I stared out at the forest, then up at the sky. It was so black...like a curtain had been tossed right over it. I had never believed that there was anything else but black that could be in that sky. But now I was running from a load of idiots because I had the light inside of me. Inside of me.

I ripped my gaze from the sky and back down to the forest. We were hiding from everyone. So what happened if we were hiding from the one person who could fix all this nonsense? I glanced back inside the cave, my expression blank as I tried to find anything special about them, anything that could've shown blatantly that they had these lights in them in which the lights in the sky would orginate from. I turned back around. Looked like a bunch of ordinary teenagers to me. Sure the girl who had said we needed to leave first had white hair, but I could always brush that off as genetics, and the new guy had blue and silver hair, but there was still something called hair-dye. Aislings eyes were freaky, but that could be genetic as well.

I stared harder at the forest, looking for any kind of sign of those freaks. Blair and Byte paused their feud to watch me interestedly. I glanced at them and nodded. They bounded over to the girl with the whtie hair, took one whiff and raced each other to the edge of the cliff. Byte struggled to stop before getting sent off the edge of the cliff, but Blair held out a paw which slammed into Byte's face and muzzle. Blair held a serious expression, unlike his usual tempermental one, and stared out at the forest as intently as I had. His staring was probably more useful then mine though.

Blair's head snapped toward my right, indicating that he smelled the most of the white haired girl's smoky scent from that direction. Either that was where the hunters were, or that was where she'd escaped from the hunters.

Turning around with a passive expression I was about to ask her if that was where she'd come from, or if those were the hunters, but, I decided not to, and simple sat back down. Blair and Byte hurried inside and sat beside me, their feud forgotten.

I would've guessed that the smoky smell wasn't just coming from the campfire, but the smoke on the white haired- oh! Kyra. That was her name, that's right. But anyway, if Kyra used a smoke screen, the hunters are naturally going to smell like smoke as well. It was simple logic and all you needed was two good bloodhounds. Except when they disagreed, then you had a problem.

<'You're not gonna say anything? About where they are?'> Byte asked, incredibly fast.

<'Don't be stupid.'> Blair barked my answer for me, <'They can tell just by the way I was looking you don't have to say anything, and if they missed it well tough luck! It's Kirux she's not going to say anything unless she feels like it.'>

Or if I had to. But for me, everyone else's lives in danger, didn't neccissarily mean that I had to say anything. If they were headed in the wrong direction and I knew, unless I wanted to go the right way, then I wouldn't say anything, I'd just go along. After all, the only one that every complained was Trin, who hated walking around for no reason. And then, all three of Trin's heads would start to get annoyed with me, one by one, so that at points in time, the walking would grow awkward and lopsided.

"Oh no, it's quite good." Satoru replied as Kyra apologized for the soup, the boy's comment deriving at least some measure of credibility from the fact that he had finally managed to get the soup into his bowl and actually tasted it - well, more like sipped absent-mindedly, but still, "Don't mind Camoran's muttering, he's always cranky on starless nights." which, of course, was to say that the Espeon was cranky constantly, but suitably subtle to ensure that the psychic type wouldn't catch on, "So we're moving again?" the boy added as Kyra proceeded to make her announcement, followed by the sudden appearance of Raito which he only acknowledged with one of his usual absent-minded waves, his expression growing a bit more attentive, although by the tone of his voice one could have thought that they were all setting off on a merry little vacation, "Where to?" there was no time for an answer, however, as Aisling had finally pieced together her own sentence and consequently uttered it.

{For once I agree with shell-head over there.} Camoran remarked at Irikail's last comment, having just finished his soup despite the lengthy stream of insults he had sent towards it, {That loony lady has all the psychic power of an old boot. And it's strange how she remembered this 'vision' right after someone else brought the information, wouldn't you say?} He had been quite aware of the Irikail staring at him and it was getting on his nerves...especially that smug expression the Slowking always seemed to have on his face. Slowking...he scoffed reproachfuly, the name alone should have been enough proof of the creature's feeble and inferior mind, but he knew that informing a fools of their foolishness was about as productive as banging your head against a concrete wall. He would know...he had, after all, been forced to live with that insufferable Duskull for years now and the specter was as uneducated as ever. Still, at least Yoru had the good sense to keep quiet, which was more than could be attributed to-no wait, Irikail had kept quiet most of the time, but that look...yes, an expression like that spoke as loudly as any words would, the insufferable braggart. Why he himself would never stoop to such pompous manners...after all, anyone with the least bit of sense could see that he, Camoran, was clearly the most intelligent one in the group.

"Oh, so there were no words?" Satoru commented as Aisling had finished speaking, completely ignoring his Espeon who had now taken up mumbling for himself, "Well, thank your father for the rest of us the next time you see him, allright?" there wasn't even the faintest trace of sarcasm or mockery in his voice, which, in turn, lead to Camoran gaining new fuel for his frustration.

Raito had never been one for blind optimism, yet it somehow seemed a smile could always come easily to his face. Direct and honest, Raito's friendliness felt as though it came from a source deeper and more real than the darkness, giving him an air of sincerity.

Casting a brief glance toward Kirux and her Pokemon, Raito set his backpack on the ground and seated himself wordlessly beside the fire. Then, picking up a loaf of bread, the trainer nibbled the edge thoughtfully as he listened to Aisling give an account of her vision. Setting the bread atop his backpack, Raito waited until Satoru had finished speaking before adding, "I remember you told us once that your psychic traits are hereditary. Makes sense for one psychic to contact another, ne?"

After a sufficient pause, Raito's eyes shifted toward Kirux, silver lights beginning to shimmer faintly in their depths. Kirux and her Pokemon all seemed to be focusing their attention in a single direction, though none of them appeared to be intending to address the group. Fingering his bread lightly in one hand, Raito casually commented--moving his gaze slightly away from Kirux as he did so--, "Whatever direction the hunters decide to come at us from, one thing is certain. With the forest being so dark, our camp stands out like a roman candle. Even if our enemies do have lights, they're smart enough to extinguish them as soon as they sight us."

A half smile tugged apologetically at the male's features as he shrugged. "Sorry to sound so negative. Just sayin'."

(I am the last one to join; Alana has approved of me, so please don't bash me or anything.)

Name: Samantha Oak
Age: Sevemteen
Gender: Female
Pokemon:
:t154: Petal - Petal was Samantha's first Pokemon. She obtained her as a Chikorita before she became 'popular' as a fragment holder. This Meganium is calm and peaceful, though a little shy. She does not trust very many humans other than Samantha and the other fragment holders.

:t094: Fright - Despite being a ghost Pokemon, Fright is actually quite friendly and lovable. He is able to project illusions, but he can only make them last for up to three minutes before they vanish.

:t038: Kitsune - This Ninetails is very protective or her Trainer and her allies. She will not allow others to get close to Samantha unless she tells Kitsune otherwise. Kitsune also loves to battle and train.

:t334: Sky - The flying member of Samantha's team. This Altaria has a tendancy to be a little too trusting of others, however. She almost ended up exposing Samantha because she wanted to befriend a hunter's Pokemon. She has become more mature since the, but she is still not perfect.

:t133: Luna - Samantha named this Pokemon after the ancient moon as a symbol of hope that light could be restored to the world without her having to sacrifice herself. This Eevee is not interested in evolving and has claustrophia. As a result, she stays outside with Samantha rather than in a Pokeball.

:t031: Toxin - The swimming member of Samantha's team, thanks to the Surf HM. This Nidoqueen is very thick-headed and stubborn, but loyal to Samantha.
Personality: Samantha is usually very calm and peaceful, in spite of her being in grave danger every single day her life. She is also very optimistic and believes that there is some way for the stone fragments to be extracted from their holders' bodies without killing them. She dreams of one day living to see the sun and moon shine again.
Description: Samantha is a little short for her age, standing at about five feet, three inches tall. Her eyes are a shade of pure blue and covered by a pair of glasses. Her strawberry blonde hair is about waist length and usually let down. Because she is constantly on the run and does not have space to carry much of a wardrobe, she wears the same clothing every day. The only outfi that she ever wears consists of a purple T-shirt over a blue long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. She wears a gold locket on a chain around her neck.
Other: Samantha is the descendant of Daisy Oak, and therefore Professor Oak as well. Though the Oak family line lost its fame over the years, it has become well-known once again due to Samantha being a fragment holder.

(I'm a little confused; I'm not sure whether the campsite is in a cave or a forest.. and that's after I read everything twice. I'm assuming it's a forest.)
--------

IC:

Samantha carefully crept through the underbrush of the forest. She tried as hard as she could to not make a sound as she moved, since the hunters were only a few yards away. She had hoped to get back to the campsite sooner, but Luna had been distracted by a Pecha Berry plant. The little Eevee certainly did enjoy the sweet taste of Pecha Berries. The plants had somehow adapted to be able to perform photosynthesis with the little artificial light created by humanity.

However, the girl accidentally snapped a twig as she crawled, which created a noise. One of the hunter's lights instantly flared in her direction. Luckily, Samantha's form was vieled by the bushes. "It must have been a wild Pokemon," she heard a voice declare. That was close. She knew where the campsite was, and just to her luck, she was not far from it now. But that meant that the hunters were also near to it. At least they were not aware of her presence... yet.

After a few more minutes of crawling, Samantha and Luna emerged from the bushes. They had made it safely back to the others. "Sorry I took so long. I would have brought back soem berries for us, but Luna ate them all. I hope we still have some food."

Samantha looked back at the forest for a moment. There weren't any signs of the hunters' lights now. "I saw some hunters close by here, but they don't seem to have discovered us... yet. I could have Fright make an illusion of some trees to hide us, but it won't last long.... But I have an idea. If we combine the powers of all of our psychic and ghost Pokemon, maybe we can make an illusion that won't disappear after just a few minutes."

OOC: Hi WW, and yeppers, we're in a forest.

Aisling
----------------

"Oh no, no words were needed!" Aisling went on, "Yeah!" The 'yeah' at the end was more to convince herself of her tale rather than Satoru. She nodded about telling her father thanks, and felt there was no more need comment. Raito spoke up too; oh how she was so happy that people were interested! So many times had she disappointed her own parents with that fact that she had never had the psychic abilities they had.

"That's true!" she said in her usual, soft, slow voice, "It all has to do with gen-et-tics. Yeah, gen-et-tics is when you get traits that rub off on you from your parents' jeans!" She nodded to herself, thinking that she looked quite smart. In truth she had no idea what genetics were, only that they passed things down through families.

{Guh! What? That's the biggest load of Tauros manu-- Nummers!} Irikail said loudly, noticing that Nummers the Numel had proceeded to stick his nose right up to the pot of soup. Given the chance, he would eat it all and leave none for anyone else.

Aisling turned her head for a moment, though she was still smiling placidly from her fake knowledge, and saw what Irikail was making a commotion about. "Oh don't worry Irikail, I'll take care of it," she said calmly, digging in her dark brown sidebag's pocket for a pokeball.

Irirkail didn't think that she would be fast enough, so he ran over to Nummers, and tried to distract him. {Nummers! Cease and desist from eating that slop! There's better food to be had... really! Um... cake! There's cake!} the Slowking said quickly, trying to think of something that would attract the Numel.

Nummers tilted his large, yellow head to the side. {Cake?} he mumbled, thinking this was better than soup.

Meanwhile Aisling was still looking through her bag, pausing to look at things she had forgotten she had, "Oh wow! I forgot I had this pipe cleaner! Hm... why do I have pipe cleaner?" She barely even noticed that Samantha had walked in, suggesting something about an illusion. If such a thing happened, surely they wouldn't be able to do it without Aisling's psychic prowess.

Irikail sighed and hoped this wouldn't take long. Nummers was easily distracted, but there was no telling what the beast would do.

OOC: Jeans? Lol, Aisling is so much fun to read. If this were a certain other character of mine she wouldn't get off so easily either. xD As for you, WW, I suppose you can't really be faulted since one of the on-time members hasn't posted a single IC yet. Where did she dissapear anyway? o.O Oh well, welcome aboard, I guess, although the cast is getting definitely female-dominant.

IC:

"Jeans, huh?" Satoru echoed at Aisling's explanation about genetics, "But mum never wore jeans, does that mean all my genes come from dad, then?"

{Boy...} Camoran muttered, {Sometimes I simply can't tell whether you're being serious or not, and considering my intellect that's quite the accomplishment on your part. Can't you see that she's making all of this up?}

The boy didn't get around to answering this question either, however, as yet another one of their companions entered camp. The boy blinked, just now they had thought that the only one missing was Suneora, but this certainly wasn't her. Apparently he wasn't the only one who's thoughts had been straying.

"Illusions, huh?" he asked, his interest now sparked. Satoru had always enjoyed sleights and magic tricks of all kinds, so a gathered illusion certainly appealed to him, "Camoran can pull off a pretty long-lasting Substitute, really, but were you thinking of something grander?"

{For the first time today, the boy is speaking sense.} the Espeon declared, taking up an even haughtier posture than before as his psychic powers were mentioned, {I disagree with needing the others, though. These amateurs would no doubt merely interfer with my own splendid and infinitely delicate work. You see, in powers of the mind a key factor is-}

"Hana, no!"

The sun pokémon flinched visibly at his trainer's interruption, somewhat surprised by the firm and commanding tone as he turned to glare angrily at the boy. Satoru himself had other things on his mind, however, mainly, the thick, green vine which had noislessly slithered down the trunk of a nearby tree and had just been in the process of wrapping itself around Luna's waist.

"Put the nice Eevee down." the boy persisted sternly, the vine's grip faultering slightly and a tired mumbling, just barely audible, coming from the treetop, "No, don't taste her." Satoru maintained, rapping the vine gently but firmly with his right backhand, "Luna is not for eating. Put her down."

There was another disgruntled mumble, after which the vine retracted itself in the same silent and swift manner that it had appeared.

"Aww...don't be like that." the boy said, his usual cheerful manner quickly returning, "Come down and have some soup instead."

Another mumble became audible, accompanied by the brief appearance of two bleary eyes, opened just slightly before closing again.

"Really?" Satoru replied, frowning, "Well...yeah, when you put it like that I suppose that would count as cannibalism. How about some bread, then?" he held up a piece towards the tree.

A last tired mumble, clearly negative, constituted Hana's reply, the Victreebel quickly returning to her usual state of sleeping.

"Sorry about that." Satoru said, turning towards Samantha and grinning apologetically, "Hana has...hunting instincts, but don't worry, she's a real sweetheart once you get to know her."

"An illusion, huh?" Raito echoed quietly. After a moment of thought, he replied, "Sounds like a pretty good idea. I mean, it would help hide us from our enemies." The trainer put one hand behind his neck and gave his usual placating half-smile as he asked, "But, then how would our other friend find us?" At this point, Raito laughed slightly before lowering his hand as another notion occurred to him. Brushing a few strands of hair behind one ear, he lifted his eyes toward the dark, empty sky--silver still glittering in his eyes as though his eyes had stolen the stars that once belonged to the heavens. The laughter remaining at the back of his voice, Raito commented, "Y'know, it's harder being a fugitive than I thought it would be."

In surprising contrast to his previous slow pace, Raito finished half his bread in a few bites. Then, wrapping what remained in a brown piece of paper bag, the trainer stored it in his backpack for a future meal. Slinging his backpack over one shoulder as he stood, Raito began to turn away from the fire. "Since the hunters are getting that close, Samantha's right in saying that we should do something. I did plan on trying to find Suneora, but I'm no good at that type of thing." The trainer flicked his wrist once. Suddenly, a pokeball was held in his hand. "So, I think I'll go say 'hey' to the hunters." An expression almost edging on a grin crossed Raito's features. "Don't worry. I won't be back until I'm sure I've lost them. But someone good at tracking should probably try to find Suneora before then."

With a last laugh, Raito vanished into the forest.

OOC: Doomo sumimasen. Sorry for not posting--you can blame both my computer for its internet not working for the past few days, and this RPG for going so fast...
IC:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been quite a few hours since the stars had vanished and been blocked by the clouds which seemed to laugh evilly from above with a slight tone of sinister red in their colour. Su-Kanaori, the little S Unown, was the only one of the group delighted by this, as it "presented an aura of great anticipation of mystery". Sureana and Runaito didn't seem to mind it that much either--they just floated or walked along normally. Kaleni and Asachiwa were disappointed at this, as Kaleni thought it not as beautiful as it would have been if cloudless, and Asachiwa found it kind of hard to meditate under these conditions, as if the clouds blocked the very magical essence that normally emanated from the heavens. Suthemai, however, was frightened and thus walked nervously alongside Suneora. Those two led thr group through the dark forest because Suthemai could light up so the group could see their way. Runaito and Sureana occasionally complained about this though, as they were more used to darkness than everyone else.
Suddenly, the bored Haunter floated over to Suneora and licked her on the head. Suneora was stunned for a few seconds, but she didn't scream or freak out like most people would, especially in this setting.
"Lumore-yo la kata-mi, tabai?" (A lover of darkness, right?) As with anything that was not thought before saying, Suneora folllowed the nature of speaking in her first language, which she still did occasionally, especially when talking to her Pokemon. Perhaps this was why all their nicknames came from that language too. Suneora laughed at the thought of this--the name "Sureana" meant "demonic", and her naughty little Haunter was certainly acting like a demon just now. How appropriate.
"You still know your Lick attack, after this time," Suneora commented.
<"I never forget,"> Sureana replied. <"Maybe it was all of Sukana's riddles, must have sharpened my mind over time."> Sureana was talking about Su-Kanaori; she always liked to shorten things.
<"A swordsman swings his sword the most often at his apprentice,"> Su-Kanaori commented.
<"I always have to correct you,"> Kaleni criticized, <"you and Suneora that is. Your riddles are so annoying--I have enough to deal with by correcting Suneora on her speech.">
<"The one who questions the work at hand becomes the least adept at what heshe has to accomplish,"> the Unown replied. Kaleni groaned.
<"Maybe you're just cranky because the stars aren't out,"> Runaito assumed.
<"I agree,"> Asachiwa, the Medicham, agreed. <"This is not a pleasant atmosphere. Perhaps some troublesome people are near, or this is the territory of angry Pokemon.">
"I hope it's the last one," Suneora hoped. "I hope it's not pa patsu that wants the Sun Stone pieces."
<"Person,"> Kaleni corrected, <"not 'patsu'. And remember 'a, an, the'.">
"Patsu, person, they sound so similar..." Suneora mumbled. "I like patsu better as it refers more to any individual..."
<"That would have to be a vampire or something,"> Sureana laughed. <"It is your blood that is so valuable.">
<"But there aren't any such creatures,"> Suthemai the Illumise said in a slightly scared tone. <"The closest thing I can think of is a Golbat, and what would they want with...">
<"She didn't say it had to be a vampire,"> Kaleni commented. <"Maybe a person with a syringe would do.
After much walking, Runaito saw a light coming from between some trees. To the Persian, it looked like a spot where many people were hanging out. Runaito, therefore, called to the group to check it out. The group followed cautiously, but Asachiwa stayed behind, for she had sensed something coming from the other direction. Footsteps, many footsteps. The look on the Medicham's face was one of bewilderment, as if she had seen a terrible omen.
"Wait, Asachiwa," Suneora halted the group and pointed to Asachiwa. And as she signaled to the group to wait a bit, she herself walked up to Asachiwa and saw, much to her surprise, three men carrying lanterns. Behind them were three Houndoom.
"People..." Suneora noticed.
<"They are up to no good, I can feel it,"> Asachiwa confirmed, sounding very sure of herself. <"They are looking for you.">
"Hunters," Suneora said to the group.
<"Let's run,"> Suthemai suggested.
"Let's not," Suneora declared, a firm tone in her voice. "If we run, they find them." Suneora pointed to the camp. "I have another plan."
This was the advantage of knowing another language: as Suneora discussed her plans with her Pokemon, if the men overheard they would not be able to understand what she was saying anyway. As the men began to approach the group, Suneora finished this discussion.
"Runaito, go!" Suneora commanded in a sharp whisper. And with that, the Persian ran towards the camp, trying to keep as quiet as possible. Luckily, she was not detected by the men who had now seen Suneora.
"That is one of the descendants," one of the men said to the other two, pointing at Suneora.
"Let's get 'em," the other two confirmed. And with that, the three Houndoom leapt out until they surrounded Suneora, as well as the little Illumise that was clutching her leg.
<"You will have to fight us first!"> Asachiwa demanded as she stepped closer to the Houndoom.
"Hiya!" While Asachiwa was walking towards the Houndoom, one of the men made a sound like a pop gun going off. It was a gun--with, just as Kaleni had mentioned, a syringe in it, aimed at Suneora. But before this could hit, Asachiwa used her Psychic to stop it, and also to break its needle. After this, she, Sureana, and Su-Kanaori proceeded to fight the Houndoom. Sureana started off with a rather annoying Taunt attack--she made rude noises and the silliest faces imaginable, causing the Houndoom to stare at her angrily. All at once, they made to charge at her all at once, but they went right through her ghostly body and instead crashed into another, which especially hurt because of their horns.
While this confusion was going on, Runaito had already reached the camp, and she immediately explained the Hunters' arrival to a few Pokemon that were there: a Numel, an Espeon, a Victreebel, and an Eevee were among them. These Pokemon in turn talked to their own trainers about the situation, except the Numel who was too dull to do much about it.
<"Then we should keep our voices down,"> said a Slowking to some of the people there.
"I agree, we might be seen by them," one girl named Samantha replied.
Back in the scene of battle, Suneora and Kaleni had also made good use of this confusion. Suneora sat atop Kaleni's back. Then Kaleni flew up, as fast as she could so she could be out of Flamethrower range of the Houndoom. Then she turned around when she was quite a ways off the ground, but close enough so she could see what was going on on the ground.
Asachiwa was having an easy time fighting off one of the Houndoom. She kept dodging Flamethrowers and Crunches and dealing super-effective Hi Jump Kicks to the devilish dogs. Sureana put her Houndoom to sleep by using Hypnosis and was proceeding to give it a Nightmare. Usually in a situation like this she would use Dream Eater instead, but psychic attacks weren't effective on Dark-type Pokemon like Houndoom. Su-Kanaori had the most difficult time fighting its Houndoom because its Hidden Power was Psychic-type, but it found a creative way of fighting: it combined its own attack with Flamethrowers and sent the new energy to the Houndoom as an attack. Though the attack was quite effective, though, the Unown did get bitten by the Houndoom once, which had nearly caused it to faint. But luckily, Suthemai was there. She did something that would have amazed Asachiwa if she wasn't absorbed in the battle: she caused the clouds to part until they made a hole, through which the near-full moon shone brightly in the night sky. This had a rather soothing effect on Su-Kanaori, as all Moonlight techniques would do. Anyways, after this, Sureana's Houndoom fainted in its sleep, Asachiwa KO'd hers with a Mega Kick, and the third Houndoom KO'd itself by running headlong into a tree (it had been Confuse Rayed by Suthemai). After the battle was over, the three men groaned and returned their Houndoom to their Pokeballs.
"We'll be back, and you won't be lucky!" the three men announced as they left.
Suthemai gave the signal by shining her light. After a while, Suneora and Kaleni were back on the ground, and not too long after that, the whole group had walked into the camp where the rest of the stone-possessors were. By that time, all the food had been eaten already, but the new arrivals didn't seem to mind all that much.
"Don't worry," Suneora reassured--she was talking to Kyra. "My Pokemon have defeated the three men, so they cannot intrude."
Samantha was doubly relieved. First, Luna was safe and sound after being almost digested by a Victreebel. Second, Sureana had returned safely to the campsite and reported that she had taken care of the hunters who were tracking them. Of course, there was risk involved in that as well. Unless her Pokemon had killed them, which was unlikely, they had run off. And now they knew that the shard holders location, how much longer would it be before they returned with backup? Still, Samantha was not the kind of person to become enraged at Sureana. She made a mistake, but they could probably deal with it. "Um... Sureana," she said in a calm tone of voice. "I'm not sure if that was the wisest course of action. What if they call for backup and come back in a much larger group? We could have a large scale battle on our hands."
The good news was that the hunters were gone for the moment. Until they arrived with backup, the shard holders would be safe. But as usual, it was not a time to celebrate. Raito had wandered off accomplish what Sureana had already done- hopefully he would return quickly. There was no longer a need to create an illusion at the moment, but it was best to be prepared just in case.
Samantha unclipped a Pokeball from her belt and pressed the button on the front, causing a Gengar to appear in a flash of white light. "Okay, Fright," Samantha told her Pokemon. "I might need you to create an illusion later. Some other Pokemon in our group are going to help too, so it might last longer. We'll need to hide this campsite."
She now turned her attention to the other members of the group. "They hunters may be gone for now, but I'm sure that they will be back in a larger group. If we follow that illusion idea I suggested, I think we'll be safe as long as they don't have a Noctowl or another Pokemon with Foresight.
OOC: Oookay...Ninetales, I don't know what kind of RPing you are used to but over here, controlling other people's characters without permission is not acceptable. That's godmodding, and it has been specifically forbidden in the RP rules so please edit that, because last I checked Irikail and Samantha were not your characters. NOTHING ticks me off like godmodding. <<
Raito stood motionless and silent in the darkness, his eyes half-closed and his ears alert for any sound. Crushing leaves, snapping twigs, voices forcibly lowered to irate murmurs . . . People were approaching. Three, judging by what he could hear. Slipping behind a thick tree trunk, Raito continued to listen carefully. Though he could not hear all of what was being said, it seemed the men had been defeated by a female fragment-bearer who had a Medicham, a Haunter, and an Unown."
Suneora . . . If she went by here, my guess is she was on her way back to camp. I wonder is she arrived yet . . . As the light of men's lanterns changed angles, Raito risked a glance at them. After a moment of indecision, his eyes narrowed slightly. Either way, there is something I need to find out.
Waiting until the men had continued on, Raito began to trail them at a distance, moving as quietly as possible. Though his gaze was most often focused intently upon those he pursued, he never forgot to check his surroundings. Kneeling behind a thorn bush, the trainer mused wordlessly, "Up until now, we've been tracked by a number of different people in different groups of different sizes. Since Suneora defeated the men who were nearest our camp, we should be safe for the moment. I hope the battle didn't make the men suspicious about the camp's location, though I find that the lower grunts such as them rarely have that type of reasoning capability." Staying low, Raito slipped wraith-like to a new location. At the moment, my main worry is that there might be more people in this forest who are looking for us--and what could happen if those men report the sighting to someone else.
Here, Raito paused. Previously, there had been three light sources--the lanterns held by the men. Now, other light sources could be seen clustered together farther ahead. And, drifting on a faint breeze to join the lights were a number of muttering voices. Looks like those men are moving toward the other lights. I wonder if that was where everyone was meeting. Raito straightened slowly. I know that the others are probably expecting me back at camp now. But, since our camp is probably safe for the moment . . . Well, this opportunity is just too good to pass up.
OOC: Sorry I took so long to reply. I've been lazy. :P Ninetails, I'm glad you finally posted. Alter Ego is right about the powerplaying thing but because it was only two lines of speech it's not that big a deal. ^_^ Just try to avoid doing it in the future.
IC: Kyra tapped her finger against her arm, thinking hard. Suneora had finally arrived but Raito was no longer here. The hunters had been driven out of their area for the moment but she was sure there were others around. If only they were all there, they could leave. She sighed and closed her eyes. There was no point in brooding over it. What had happened had happened and there was nothing they could do about it.
A soft nicker made Kyra turn. She smiled as Sacred shook her beautiful head and and stared at her. "I know, I wanna get out of here too. We just have to wait for Raito. Once he gets back, we can leave." The Rapidash nodded and lowered her head back to the ground. She snorted and closed her eyes.
Kyra smiled at her for a moment or two then turned back to the people in the camp. They were all discussing ways to keep the hunters from finding them, but she didn't think this was the best topic. She considered for a few moments then spoke in a quiet voice, "I think we shoud leave. As soon as Raito comes back we should douse the fire and get out of here. The sky is the best choice. We all have flying Pokemon, right? And even if they can't support your weight you can still ride with some one else. Chances are there are too many hunters around to try to get away by land."
and in my post below Thorns is green and storm is grey.
IC:
Resting with her back against a tree cassie closes her eyes and a taps two pokeballs on her belt. Her closed eyelids start glowing purple and orange, “Storm, Thorns we are going to be moving again. Kyra thinks we should go from the air. Will one of you be able to do it? Or should we stay on the ground as a distraction, to help the others get away?”
Both starmies reply “thank you for consulting us cassie, we both appreciate it.”
“I personally think we should stay on the ground as a distraction, I do not like heights and I should think my brother doesn’t either, we are water pokemon not flying pokemon.”
“I agree with my sister,I would rather fight than go way up high. Please pass thise onto Kyra. Thank you cassie”
nodding to her self cassie’s eyelids become normal. Walking over to Kyra, cassie explains what she and her two starmies would rather do instead of going into the air.
"I have a flying Pokemon, but I think Sky is sleeping now," Samantha responded. "Flying away is not the best option now. Besides, we can't leave until Raito comes back. We can't just leave him behind."
With the possibility of more hunters coming towards them, Samantha thought relocating was a good idea, but it was not best to do it by air, and it would not be right to leave Raito behind. He was their ally, and if he was to be captured, she would feel guilt whether it was her fault or not.
And once Raito would return, flying would not be the best method of relocating at the moment. Most bird Pokemon were only active during the daytime... well back when it was possible to tell whether it was day or night. With the sun and moon gone, everything was all mixed up. "I recall passing a river on our way to this campsite. Perhaps it would be easier for us to swim downstream a little once Raito returns. I don't own any water Pokemon, but my Nidoqueen is able to Surf."
Samantha had conflicting feelings. She hoped that the others wouldn't leave Raito behind. Up until now, they had stuck together and looked out for each other so carefully. But now, they were in the face of approaching danger. Would they care only about themselves in a life or death situation? Samantha wanted to see her allies safe... all of them. She believed the others cared about Raito as much as she did, but she was not completely sure now.
OOC: Zuuu... erm, yeah, I'll just ignore the line that Irikail was supposed to have said. XD
Aisling
------------------
"Got it!" Aisling said with her usual smile, holding up a pokeball, "Return Nummers...!" If Satoru's Victreebell couldn't eat a little someone else's Eevee, then Nummers couldn't everyone else's soup.
There was a small pile of strange objects that had been pulled from her bag in an attempt to find the elusive pokeball. Aisling placed the Numel's pokeball back into the messy bag it came from, and began placing the rest of the things in there.
When the subject turned to flying away, Aisling's mind slowly thought of her flying pokemon, Faafi. The rather large Farfetch'd was a good friend of hers, and though she couldn't fly on top of her persay... she was quite effective at taking her distances via Aisling's flying straps. Her straps went around Aisling's upper torso, and it was all connected to a bar coming off her back. This bar would be held by Faafi like a perch, and so she could carry Aisling like a package through the air. It might have been a little more uncomfortable for both involved, but Faafi had gotten used to it by now.
Then Samantha brought up the fact that Raito was gone, and that maybe they should go by river. Aisling wasn't very smart in situations like this, though she could try and psychically tell which way was better, but one vision was enough for one day.
{This conversation is going to go nowhere unless someone makes a decision,} Irikail said with his arms folded, {Aisling, tell them I prefer the water. We all know that Faafi is a pain to bring out.} His eyes were closed, and his expression seemed to indicate that Faafi was a pain especially to him.
"Heh, you're so funny Irikail," Aisling said with a chuckle. She ignored his request but did want to speak up about the situation. "I don't know much about which way would be better, but if Raito hasn't come back, it's probably for a good reason," the girl said softly, her placid smile back.
Irikail looked a little surprised. {You thought of that on your own?} he said to her, his eyes back open.
"Well yeah," she said, turning her head to him, "He could be staring at a really neat leaf. Or, he could be thinking about where rocks come from."
{Guh...,} the Slowking sighed, {Nevermind. But really, let's get out of here. Now that we've been discovered, AND someone's actually tried to fight them off, they'll be back with more people than before! They won't give up until they find us. The others never did.}
Aisling nodded and turned to the others, "Irikail says 'Guh...' and that we should 'nevermind'."
{NO! That's not what I said!} Irikail said angrily.
"Oh," Aisling spoke up again, "And he said we should get outta here because... um, something about that more of them will come probably and they won't give up."
"Mmph! Watch it!" A hoarse whispered crawled through the darkness as a heavily built man of about forty felt another form bump into him. Turning irritably, the man's eyes narrowed in an attempt to see the culprit. Amidst the thick blackness, however, anything was difficult to see.
"Sorry," came a low reply, the voice resembling a male of about thirty. "But it's kinda hard to see right now, ya know?"
"Yeah," the man agreed. "The boss said we should stop using our lights once we got farther out, though. So, it's not like we can do anything about it." He grunted in resignation. "Whether we use our lights or not, it seems pretty hopeless. I haven't seen any sign of those brats. Feels like a wild goose chase, if you ask me."
"No kidding. Makes me think we're all just chasing each other around this accursed place." The other form lightly kicked a rock, sending it rolling across the forest loam. Then, it paused, seemingly in thought. "Although . . . "
"Although what?" the man questioned eagerly, ready for any new information to help relieve the boredom of hours of searching.
"I heard this piece of information I thought might be useful. There were these three guys who came back to the meeting spot a while back, talking to each other all secretive. They said they wanted to see the boss right away, and weren't willing to tell anyone why." While his features could not be seen amidst the darkness, the speaker seemed to be smiling as he continued, "Now, I didn't hear everything they said. But, when they couldn't talk to the boss, they started whispering to each other again. Apparently they came across one of those kids and got thrashed pretty badly. Still, their trip wasn't a total waste, since on their way back, they overheard two other kids whispering to each other something about going north from here."
"Really?" the older man whispered in disbelief, halting in his tracks. "Heh, those glory hogs. I bet right now they're going back with new Pokemon to try to capture those brats. And, even if they fail, they're the only ones who know where our prey'll be headed next."
"Exactly. Or at least, that's what they think. But, we're not about to let them get away with that." Laying a hand on the heavy man's shoulder, the familiar smile crept over the figure's darkened features. "You see, we're going to spread the word to everyone about those kids going north. That way, their secret information won't be so secret anymore."
The man's features lit up with understanding as he murmured, "Yeah, that should do . . . Not a bad plan."
"Heh. Definately not. Once a rumor is started, there's no tracing it back to the origin. You and I'll be safe from the three, and their plan will be ruined. Now, I'll go keep an eye on those guys to make sure they're not hiding anything else. You spread the word over here, alright?"
"Got it. I'll radio you if--" The older man paused, checking his side in confusion. "My radio's gone!"
"What?" came the equally surprised reply. "You must have dropped it when we bumped into each other. Sorry about that, mate."
After a moment of discontented grumbling, the man finally replied, "It's fine. Wasn't your fault, I guess. Anyway, I'll see if I can find the other guys and talk to them."
"Right. I'm counting on you." The shadowed figure vanished into the forest.
Making his way quietly through the darkness, Raito's voice returned to it's normal tone as he mumbled, "After all, without you, my plan just wouldn't work." He hefted the man's radio in his hand once before switching it off.
---------------------
"Alright, so there's good news and bad news." Raito strolled into the camp of fragment-bearers, shifting the strap of his backpack as he continued, "Good news is, I got a working radio with an adjustable frequency. Bad news is, I saw three rather disgruntled trainers trying to get themselves new Pokemon as well as quite a few more people out searching for us." Raito paused, his eyes briefly flitting over everyone present. Looks like they're all here.
After giving a nod of greeting to Suneora, the male finished, "Also, I think I managed to get them to think we're going north. So, my suggestion would be traveling either east or west, since if they find out my trick, they'll probably be guessing we're headed south." Shrugging as well as he could with a backpack on his shoulder, Raito added, "But, in the end, it's really up to you guys. I'm cool with whatever."
Kyra nodded to Cassie but didn't reply. She tapped her fingers on her arm again and stared at the dark sky, thinking. That made two who didn't want to fly. Why not? It wasn't as if anyone would see them. Drake wouldn't emit any light unless he used an attack, and unless one of them had a Charizard, and she was pretty sure they didn't, then there was no need to worry about. But it wasn't her call. If they weren't going to fly then they'd have to find some other way out.
A rustling sound made her look up. She smiled in slight relief as she saw Raito enter the camp and had to work hard to conceal her grin as he explained what he had done. "Clever trick," she said cheerfully, standing up and brushing herself off. "While you were gone, I made the suggestion of taking to the skies to escape but some people don't like the idea, or their Pokemon don't. So we should cross the land until we come across water. If we go through the water they won't be able to tell which way we went no matter how hard they look. I have no idea how far away the nearest lake, river, or other water source is, but it can't be too far." She looked carefully around at her seven companions and considered for a moment. A problem had just presented itself, but she was sure it could be easily overcome. "I'll need to ride with some one else though. Sacred gives off far too much light, she'll be easily spotted."
Sacred snorted and tossed her head as she got gracefully to her feet. She gave Kyra an offended look and turned her head away. "I'm sorry, girl," said Kyra quietly, walking over and placing a hand on the Rapidash's neck, "but it's true. I can ride you most of the time but not in this forest. You stick out I'm afraid." Sacred snorted again but nodded her head.
"So," Kyra continued in a louder voice, "does anyone have any problems with that plan?"
Samantha was relieved to see Raito return safely. They wouldn't leave him behind now, since he had rejoined the group. She didn't have a crush on him... well, she didn't act like she had a crush on him, but she cared for him nonetheless; perhaps a little more than any other member of the group. She did care about the safety of each and every shard bearer, of course.
Kyra kind of stole Samantha's idea, but it seemed more like she was repeating it to the rest of the group. Kyra always acted as the leader, and she did a pretty good job at it. Until now, she had kept them a good distance from the hunters, and even in the face of danger, she did a good job of staking out a safe campsite which had not been discovered yet. Still, moving was a good idea, and traveling on water would make their new location more challenging for the hunters to find. "You can just walk," she suggested to the group's 'leader.' "I remember passing a river flowing to the west on our way to the campsite. It's about fifty yards to the south of here, but if we move quickly, we can probably avoid the hunters before they head in that direction."
The way Samantha saw it, the hunters probably intercepted the rumor that the shard bearers were heading north, and began to go that way. They would probably go south after traveling north a little, since they would have figured out that the rumor was fa
