Pokemon: The Elemental Masters

The background:

Long ago, when the high goddess Ichigo created the world, she concentrated the various energies of the land, sea and sky she had made, and gave them life. In doing so, she created the elemental spirits, ten in all. The spirits were commanded to go throughout the newly made world, and fill it with things that would care for the world. Eager to carry out their mistresses' command, the spirits went throughout the world, creating humans, Pokemon, and other creatures to inhabit the world. Once they had finished their labors, the spirits flew to various caves in the world, and encased themselves in jewels, where they rested and multiplied, allowing themselves to help and guide their creations.

Although Ichigo loved her creation very much, she knew that some creatures would try to rebel, steal the elementals for themselves, and ruin the world, so to minimize any disorder, she created one Pokemon that could harness the power of all the elementals, and several others that were assigned to protect one specific elemental. The one Pokemon that could harness all the elementals was the wave guider, Rukario. He was charged with guiding those that wished to learn to harness the power of the elementals, and use that power against evil. Under his guidance, he trained many archmages, and in turn, those archmages went and trained more mages, until anyone that wanted to learn magic could be trained under a master mage.

But not everyone wanted to use the powers they learned for a good reason...some mages abused their power and created monsters for their own gain. Rukario caught wind of this and stripped those that abused the power of the elementals of their skills. At first, the problem was solved rather quickly, but before long, the problem of dark mages got out of hand, to the point where Rukario couldn't keep track of them all. Because of this, monsters begin to multiply in the world, causing much grief and despair.

Rukario looked for an answer as to why dark mages had multiplied so quickly, and found that one of the archmages he had originally trained, Alara, had been training these dark mages, and the power that she had amassed during that time was threatening his own--if she obtained the jewels the original elemental spirits were inside, she would become his equal in greatness. Knowing that Alara could become invincible that way, Rukario sent teams of master mages and their apprentices to gather the original jewels and travel to Alara's castle, which sits at the top of Mt. Kage, to destroy her. So far, none of the teams he has sent have returned alive.

You play the role of a young apprentice under the guidance of Master Mage Ash, and Rukario has called you, your master, and fellow apprentices to attempt the dangerous quest....will you make it to Mt. Kage and destroy Alara?

The Basics:

Being a mage in training, you are learning to harness the power of the elemental spirits, by capturing them, very much like Pokemon. But to capture an elemental spirit and confine it to a card, you have to lure it close to you, and to do that, you have to play a song the spirit likes on a magical instrument. The spirits are even picky about what instrument you play the song on!

One you do capture a spirit, its card is free for you to use in battle. The stronger the spirit you catch, the stronger the card...but each card can only be used once.

Sometimes the spirits will leave coins for you...use these to infuse your weapon with an elemental's power...the stronger the spirit, the more coins it will leave, and the coins will be stronger

There are ten elemental spirits in all, each with their own powers and personality:

Chi(earth): Chi is a strong pebble-like spirit, and inhabits the ground and rocks. Despite his small size, he can pick up giant objects with ease. He generally likes hearing bells and chimes, because they remind him of jewels and crystals.

Kaen(fire): Kaen is a playful spirit, and a bit of a trickster. In the wrong hands, his power may burn you! He is said to have created the sun, and is the rival of Undine, the water spirit, who keeps him in line with rain. He personally likes hearing pipes, because they remind him of whistling steam.

Undine(water): This tiny mermaid-like spirit is queen of the sea, rivers, lakes, and just about anything else that has water inside. She is a bit vain, but you will win her favor if you use a harp to charm her. She doesn't take kindly to her rival Kaen's tricks, and will do just about anything short of flooding the world to one up him.

Jinn(wind): This genie-like spirit is very laid-back and carefree, preferring to go wherever the wind blows to observe his creations. However, get him provoked enough and he may send a storm at you! He especially loves hearing the wind instruments (i.e. flutes, whistles, horns, pipes, etc.)

Kori(ice): This shy crystalline fairy is rarely seen for most of the year, but she relishes any cold place. She appears extensively in the winter, turning the world into an icy paradise. It doesn't matter what magical instrument you choose to charm her, but she does enjoy hearing bells.

Dengeki(thunder): Very short-tempered, he will not hesitate to zap you if you bother him. He is said to give his guardians, Raikou and Zapdos, their legendary speed and power. He will help you if you get on his good side with a drum.

Wisp(ether): Ether is the element of spirits themselves, and what the wispy trails that ghosts leave behind are made of. When something dies, it turns to ether. One may be tempted to think Wisp is made of fire, but she is actually made of ether. She likes hearing flutes, as these remind her of wandering ghosts.

Hana(plants): Hana is a friendly sprite-like spirit that bears a resemblance to the Pokemon Roselia...some think that she lives inside the roses on a Roselia, but she mainly prefers to travel, speading flowers and making seeds grow. She especially loves hearing flutes and whistles, but not pipes.

Hikari(light): Hikari guards all things that glow or otherwise create light, and will gladly guide you at night...she is said to have created the moon and stars to help light the way for travelers at night. She is also considered the healing spirit, and will soothe any weary traveler that finds her and coaxes her out with a whistle, horn, or harp

Shade(darkness): Not all darkness is evil...Shade represents the good side of darkness. He created the night so the world could rest after working all day, and shadows appearing at sunset are a sign that he is coming to cover the world with night, and that it is time to rest. During the day, he hides in shadowy dark places, but playing pipes should coax him out of your shadow

Name: Scott Wyvern
Age: 13
Physical appearance: Around 5'8, with a bit of a toned body. His skin is slightly tanned from all the time he spends traveling. His eyes are a light brownish-red and his hair is the darkest black. His hair is a bit spiky but really messy. Around his neck is a gunmetal silver pendant in the shape of a crown. He has a scar coming from his right shoulder blade to his left rib on his back. His clothes are dark gray cargo-pants, black long-sleeve shirt with a dragon inprint on the back, black and red sneakers. On his hands are some black fingerless gloves.
Personality: Although he rarely admits it, Scottura is often quite withdrawn and introspective. He knows that there is a lot that he does not understand about himself, and this causes him to be irritable at times, and sometimes even to snap at friends. He changes for the better once he realizes that there are bigger problems than himself to deal with.

History: Scott wanted to be a mage ever since he was 5. He saw how the mages casted spells and thought that it would be cool to learn those spells, so he could help out his grandma, and against kids who bullied him, because he had no parents. He soon found out that it wasn't all learning spells, he had to do chores and write as well.

Starting Equipment: Scott's weopon of choice is a sword. If a cape and a hat aren't armor, then he wears no armor except wrist guards. He wears a golden ring with a dragon symbol on it, and a gunmetal silver pendant in the shape of a crown. His insrument of choice is the pipes. If pokeballs are miscelleanous items, he has a few of them, as well as berries. He has 7 magical cards.

Name: Hikaru Genomix
Age:13

Physical appearance: Hikaru wears a dark blue long-sleeve shirt with a black cape, he has a pair of green pants and dark brown sandals. Hikaru's hair is a very dark blue, that tends to spike up a bit in parts, he has green eyes and tanned skin(but not too tanned).

Personality: Hikaru is quite energetic, but he's smart in how he uses it, and knows how to keep cool in a pinch. Hikaru gets along with others pretty well, but he can be a tiny bit shy at first. He is not necissarily a loner but he does'nt get to interact with other people that often, but he does like having company.

History: Hikaru always had an interest in magic and the mythical arts scince he was a young boy. He always had a fettish for Darkness magic(good dark magic, not black magic) and Ice magic. Hikaru also was aware of the malice that was rising and wanted to perfect his Magical skills to help restore peace and protect the innocent spirits being harmed. So when he was 11, his parents sent him away to train with Master Mage Ash to help him fight off the evil Alara with the other Apprentices. Hikaru has grown a bit over the years and has learned many skills, but he still has alot to learn...

Age: Eleven

Physical appearance: Daniel has light skin, dark eyes with by short,spiky brown hair. He generally wears a red cap, a orange short sleeved T-shirt and blue shorts. He also has a small green backpack he wears almost all the time.

Personality: Daniel is irratated easily, however enjoys the company of other people.He is known to panic in the smallest situations,however in serious situations he relaxes and trys to figure out a situation. He`s normally the guy in the background who follows the leader.

History: Daniel was never intrested in folowing in the footsteps of his parents (farmers) , when he was 6 he saw a mage casting magic and ever since then his wanted to be mages.

Starting Equipment: Daniel has a sword,metal body armour, a black ring, a flute, some pokeballs , some fruit, he has two Hana, Kaen and Undean cards and one Hiakri card.

The morning sun streamed inside a large stone building, illuminating the face of one of its occupants, a black haired boy, sleeping peacefully. He groaned and reached for a pillow to shield his face from the light, which seemed to work for a few moments.

Suddenly, a rustling at the foot of the bed woke the boy from his slumber. After rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he noticed a small yellow mouse creature with a thunderbolt-shaped tail looking back at him from the middle of the covers. "Oh! Hi, Pikachu..." he cooed as he threw the covers off of him and climbed out of bed. "Could you go wake the apprentices up while I get dressed?" he asked as he retrieved a red tunic with yellow trim, some leggings, a matching red cape with yellow trim, and a large red hat with a small white feather on it from his closet.

"Chu." Pikachu replied, and hurried off down the hall...

(Once Pikachu wakes you up, get dressed, pack up, an come to the dining room, where Ash will brief you on the quest.

Daniel woke up, a little tired to the sound of a Pikachu and the bright morning sunshine . He got up and started to get dressed, his black,spiky hair in blocking his face he brushed it to the side. `Vee,vee` , his Eevee,Sam had also woken up, he brushed his teeth before walking down the hall passing the Pikachu that woken him up. Sam glared angryily at the Pikachu. Daniel and Sam eventually reached the dining room, Daniel sat at the table ready to hear Ash`s quest.

"GAAAAAAH! Alright I'm up, I'm up! Geez Pikachu did you really have to shock me? You could've just squeaked or something." Pikachu apoligized with a Pika Pika and sprinted off to the other rooms. "Alright Pochama, time to wake up."
"Pocha.... Po!" The small penguin replied.

"heh, heh, good!" Hikaru started to get dressed, he put on all of his equipment and then was ready. "Alright Pochama, time to go."

"Pocha!" It replied eagerly. With that, Pochama jumped on Hikaru's shoulder and they both hurried toward the dining room.

"Pi, pikachu!" Pikachu kept on repeating, trying to wake Scott up, even his own pokemon Houndour, tried. To Scott there voices sounded like an alarm clock, because he had stuff stuck in his ears, which turned out to be a big mistake when he used his hand to stop what he believed was an alarm clock, but was actuallly Pikachu's head. 'Wait a moment,' he thought 'I don't have an alarm!?' When he realised this he opened his eyes to find a Pikachu underneath his hand, giving him an angry stare.
"Eep," was all Scott could say before he was shocked.

Everyone who was awake could here Scott's yell as he was shocked, it stopped after a few seconds, leaving the place quiet. "Okay! Okay! I'm awake Pikachu, you don't have to shock me again." Scott said painfully as he got up out of bed, Pikachu then gave a satisfied nod then left. "Houn?" Houndour asked Scott worriedly. "Huh? Oh, yeah I'm fine Houndour. Just a little paralyzed in my arm," Scott said getting dressed. "We better go see what's up, yeah?" Hounour agreed with a single 'Houn!' and they both walked to the dining room.

"Goodness, what was all the racket?" Ash asked as his apprentices trooped into the dining room. One obviously was in pain from a Thunderbolt attack.

"Pikachu pi pi pika, Pikapi." Pikachu explained.

"Next time, save the Thunderbolt for a last resort." Ash cautioned his companion as the plates with the apprentice's breakfasts went flying to their respective places.

Age: 13
Physical appearance: Salem is Quite pale, and has grey eyes (his pupils are only distincted by their complete darkness) He has red shoulder length hair that sticks aout against his skin. He has each ear pierced, not on the lobe but the catilage above. He is built slim but quite athletically (that is thin arms with strung muscle, same with legs and chest)

Personality: Salem has an extreme level of emotinal range. One minute he can be loud and boisterous or the nest he'll be quite and revert away from any discussion, but he never backs down from a fight. His weak point is his arrogance when it comes to battling, or arguing. His strong points are that he pushes himself not to let go, and that he is quite quick to get used to his enviroment.

History: Salem loves the idea of being able to use a power to help the mundane means (that does not mean he uses his powers to do everything). He likes the idea of being able to protect people with more than just his body. His parent had always been in two minds about letting him become a mage. He finds that all the elements have strong points and weak points, but he prefers the element fire and darkness and their embodiments Kaen And Shade, he also has a soft spot for undine and Hikari.

as I came around to waken, there was a yellow monster dragging at my duvet's. I recognized the small yellow mouse like thing as a pickachu. It's indistincitve tail and size, I realised I must have slept in or that pikachu was late in coming to wake me up.

I got out of the bed quickly, I picked out my black chain armour it of course reserved some fashion and dressed quickly all the while chasing the pikachu out of the room. Once I slipped my boots on under my trousers I grapped my gloved and made my way, hurriedly to the 'dining room' where all the mage apprentices where meant to meet, most likely some time ago.

I wondered if I was late or if I was just being paranoid. It didn't matter right now I had to get to the dining hall, but I had forgotten to grab my pokeball, containing draemon, he is a houndour, and my flute.
I ran back to the room in which I slept, grabbed the pokeball, and the flute and ran to the dining hall.

I thought to myself, 'What a way to start a day, poor draemon, I'm gonna get into so much trouble, today of all days.'
I finally found the doors that now sperated myself, and draemon from breakfast and the other students.

Age: 13
Physical appearance: What does your character look like?
Tanny skin color, white long hair that goes down her back, Big crystal clear blue eyes, butter fly selveed dress and cloth stockings, a rope like necklace around her neck with a dragon fang hanging from it.
Personality: She is open, can be shy at times, she has a good sense of humour, loves to talk. She respects others well and knows her place.
History: Jae is determined to prove she can become a mage and is not a failure like how other sees her as. Her family always said she was a failure and looked down on her. So she was determined to become the best mage she can at the same time to help people as well.

Name: Arc

Age: 13

Physical appearance: Blonde hair with dark red streaks, somewhat tan complexion. Greyish Blue Eyes. About 5' 6" well built for a 13 year old. Under his armor, he wears Red orange clothes with black marks along them like a growlithes coat.

Personality: Arc is usually friendly, but gets intense when he has his mind set on something.

History: As a young boy Arc watched some mages do their work and he was immediatly interested. He prefers the elements of Kaen and Hikari, for their affiliation with the dragon and fire pokemon types.

Once Pikachu wakes you up, pack up and get ready for the adventure)

Arc lays in his bed, completly oblivious to the world around him. Flare, sleeping at his feet wakes up when a small yellow mouse pokemon walks into the room and starts to jump up and down on Arc. Arc, back in his bed, starts to stir. "Hmm.... Huh? What?" he questions... to no one in particular, sitting up and adjusting to the light, to see pikachu tumble off of his chest. "Oh... morning pikachu..." he said groggily. Pikachu runs off back to the dining room, leaving Arc and Flare in the room. Flare looks curiously down the hallway and then to Arc. "Aroo?" It questions, looking at his trainer. "Flare, I don't know. But If it weren't important, then pikachu would not have woken me up." he said, but then looks at the calendar. "And of course today is the day we start the quest everyone has been so anxious about. And It figures that I don't remember." he scolded himself, going around the room, donning his armor and gloves, and taking his messenger bag and filling it with the berries he had been saving just for the occasion. He checks himself over making sure he has everything and walks out to the dining room.

"Morning everyone" he said, cheerfully sitting down.

Trapinch bit Jae's hand softly. Jae yelped sitting up in her bed rubbing her hand, "Trapinch!!! How many times have i told you to know do that!" She scowled. Trapinch stared at her ashamed, Jae swung her legs over her bed and picked Trapinch up and putted it on her lap, "i didn't mean to scowl at you, you just need to find of a more proper way to greet people. Now come on and let's go get some breakfast. She said pulling on her dress and packed up her messenger bag and pulled on her belt and combed her hair pulling on her gloves and putting on her shoes.

She winked at herself in the mirror, I am in tip-top shape and ready to get moving on some adventure, let's go Trapinch." She said opening the door and walked into the dining room,

"Good morning everyone!" She said in a cheerful voice.

Scott was staring at Ash's Pikachu at the start of breakfast, waiting till the pokemon had started eating, and was no threat to him. Scott looked at his plate and then at his Houndour, who was staring at him with his puppy-dog eyes. Scott sighed and gave half of his plate to his pokemon, 'Houndour has to keep his strength up too,

After Scott finished his breakfast, he waited till everyone had finished there breakfast. "Good morning everyone!" said a cheerful voice as a girl walked into the room with her pokemon, 'What's so good about it? Obviously you didn't get woken up by a THUNDER BOLT! Did you?' Scott thought as he watched the girl sit down and start to eat. Scott became bored of waiting for everyone to finish breakfast, so he started swinging back on his chair, Houndour was bored as well as still tired, so without thinking he jumped on to his master's lap. Scott fell back as Houndour landed on his lap and lay there dazed, as his pokemon slept on his lap, not startled by the loud thud on the ground, "Ouch!" was all Scott could say as he layed there.

Ash heard the thud as one appentice lost his balance on the chair and fell to the ground with a crash. After levitating the dazed apprentice back into the chair, he checked to see if he was hurt or if anything was broken. Aside from little winged Houndours running around his head, the apprentice looked all right, so Ash returned to what was left of his breakfast, all the while eyeing a green crystal hovering by the window....

I Entered the room through a door whice was coneipt in it's position.
"I'm not late Am I?" I ask out loud.
I looked around the room, Ash was sat at his table lookign out the window at something, and some fo the other students were at their tables.
The room was brightly lit from the windows surrounding the room, there wasn't alot of commotion going on.
I had to be late today didn't I I thought to myself.
I felt my face burn, and checked around to see if anyone turned round to look at me.

"You're not late." Ash assured the apprentice as he sent the plate to the appropriate spot at the table. He turned to note the crystal ball hovering by the window. "I think the oracle of Pewter has something to tell us..." he started as he glanced at the crystal, where the oracle's voice resonated into the room:

"The Elemental Master calls, he has a quest for you.
Follow the path to his lair, and he will tell you the path that's true."

"Oh well that's good...." I say feeling the burning leaving my face.
Then I sit down at my place at the table, When the oracle sounds out

"The Elemental Master calls, he has a quest for you.
Follow the path to his lair, and he will tell you the path that's true."

I couldn't help thinking : Wow a quest....this is going to be good
I looka round to see the other student to see if they felt the same.

oh, boy, a quest... this will be good Hikaru thought, gulping down his OJ. Hmmmmmmm...... I already know this will be difficult even with these numbers... Hikaru thought again as he glanced at everyone else at the table. Hikaru was of course never much of a talker, especially not when he was eating, he always thought alot at meals. "Pocha...P-P" Pochama groaned.

"Are you alright Pochama?" Hikaru whispered.

"Po!" Pochama suddenly hacked out a huge grape lodged in his throat, Hikaru could'nt help make a slight giggle at that. But he instantly felt his tummy rumbling and he ate up the rest of his meal.

Daniel had finished his breakfeast and was ready to follow Ash to his lair.
He was about to stand up when he realised many people weree still eating . Not wanting to be the first person to follow Ash .Daniel sat and waited while patting his Eevee,Sam. Wondering what the quest was.......

History: 'a boy of the wind' was what he was called in his family , mainly because he loves dragon and flying type pokemon (his cyndaquil is an exception.).He saw what the mages did every day since he was 3 years old so he became excited when he was let in to become one.

Name: Saku Toshima
Age: 13

Physical appearance: Saku has aquamarine colored hair and aquamarine colored eyes as well(quite odd for his case). His hair fall about 5 inches from his head while his bangs fall about 3 inches. On his body, he wears a slightly loose/tight armor that doesn't constricts his small body for casting spells while allowing protection from much physical damage. He wears a single shoulder pad outfitted on his left shoulder, a blue cape, a magic amplifying, navy, blue glove on his left hand, and a onyx gauntlet on his right hand as a precaution should he be unable to use magic. He wears a belt that holds down his brown tunic on the mid-rift and on that belt, two small scabbards for his twin blades called Shooting Star. On his feet, he wears brown boots and brown leather leggings. On his head, he has a navy blue headband on that his father had used when he was alive to increases abilities in mentality as well as physicality. Around his neck is a pendant belonging to his deceased mother which has powers to halve magical damage from Fire and Water, while near his waist close to his right sword is a flute with small wings at the bottom, which is used to charm some spirits and some other future uses to come.

Personality: Very shy but determinded, he is exceptionally easy to make friends with and kind to a default. He loves to read as well as care and observe his pokemon.


History: In the past, Saku had such a weak body that couldn't do much otherwise he'd fall ill. His parents confined him to their estate for his own safety. He never did much and wasn't relied on due to his dangerous ailment. Because of this, he was isolated mainly from the world in his large home, however, there were books upon millions of books in the library his parents had formed over the past years and held much knowledge. Saku spent most of his time reading those books and learning of the histories that were kept in those journals. He came upon a book with a mysterious seal on the cover he had never seen before. Curiously, he gripped the book and opened the leather bound book. Instantaeously, his body was engulfed by magic and his body steadily grew stronger over the years. He was captivated but this unknown power that restored his body to its formal strength. Saku lost his parents a few years later in a tragic accident, his butler, Hermann, is the only close relative that he knows and trusts. As Saku grew, Hermann, a magician once a long time ago, taught him the basics of magic and over time, Saku grew stronger to a point that lead him to become an apprenticed mage under the command of Master Mage Ash.

Saku slipped on his armor, which encased his body perfectly, and tightened the strings that held it but not too tightly. Grabbing his glove, flute, and cards and placing them in his knapsack, he descended the stairs connected to the hall of his room, followed closely by Eevee, and approached the dining room.

Saku had gotten a visit from Master Ash's Pikachu quite early in the morning. Pikachu had come to gather the apprentices and Saku told Pikachu he will be there shortly in the dining room. Pikachu nodded with agreement and left afterwards. Saku was up early that morning preparing his things and observing his belongings. Much to his knowledge, he had forgotten track of the time.

Climbing down the last steps of the stairs, Saku walked into the room to see quite the amount of apprentices had been gathered. Dropping his sack near the corner of a wall, Saku leaned against one of the surrounding walls closest to him and waited for the group. Eevee sat near him and waited patiently as well.

"Chu..." Pikachu sighed...he was in no mood to attempt deciphering the oracle's prophecy this early in the morning...but either way, both he and Ash knew the oracle's Crystal Eyes, as the orbs were called, would be helpful on this prophesied journey.

Physical appearance: Phillip's tall for his age and slim as well. His skin-tone is oddly pale, although not completely white. He has deep-blue sea eyes, and messy light-brown hair. His clothing is all black, his paleness standing out even further - he posesses a sweatshirt with a golden ring symbol in the front and a silver crescent moon on the back. He also wears baggy black trousers and plain normal shoes. On his hands he has a pair of gloves with a silver moon sign on their back.

Personality: Phillip is the silent, calm type. He's usually seen leaning against a wall, absorbing all knowledge and not voicing his opinions much. However, he has a true sense of justice and will do anything to reach his goals.

History: Phillip had a quite disturbing childhood. While other children played and learned in schools, Phillip was always introverted and alone. He would spend days with his Pokemon reading, alone on his library, and was also home-schooled. He had no-one to call friend, except his Pokemon. He was a loner. He was also mocked by others while he was taking a stroll (not a ery common occasion), for the cas ethat he could commune with magical spirits since the age of 4. He had learned about all the mystical energies in his library, and also trained to develop his natural abilities. One day, he recieved a letter inviting him to study to become a mage - something that he immediatly accepted, and head out to learn more about the elementals.
