I happen to know some of his music from the late 50's through the 1960s. (listened to them on the radio) I even have an original 45rpm single of Bossa Nova Baby/Witchcraft.

He's got a good voice, I'll give him that. He was quite the entertainer, one of the first rock 'n rollers, in his day, but these days it seems he was too flamboyant and colourful during his lifetime. Add that he died of a drug overdose....
