Why did the site close

Why does this site require users to login before seeing the site?
back in june/july it wasnt like that...
i have been inactive lately and would like to know what has caused such a sudden change in policy.

I think they turned it on, so guests wouldn't use too many resources and to speed up the site a little.

hmm... but were the guests really causing that much trouble?

i guess you have to take certain security measures when the cold hard haters start hacking the place...
but... that means less new members
would that be a good or bad thing?

1. This is probibly the FIFTH thred letting us know that the site was broken, and its working now. Thank you for letting us know lol.
2. The site was hacked, and messed with, but thats was the beginning of it.
3. The server got a cold, so it wasnt working for a while.[/sarcasm]

Its working now so I guess people shoul probibly stop making these threds saying the EXACT same thing huh?

Yes but alot of images are dead lol...is that to do with the server?

Guest viewing was indeed turned off back then in order to try to ease up on the amount of resources/connections the server was handling at once. Kinda a drastic measure, but... *shrugs* Wasn't much else that could've been done then, supposedly.

As for other things, there's already a thread [url-inline=pokecommunity/showthread.php?t=69764]here[/url-inline] for asking about server-related things; please post in that thread instead of creating an entirely new one.
