I agree with Dingbat. I like most of them, but the Magmar, Tangela, Lickitung, Chansey, and Nosepass evolutions all suck hard. However, I absolutely love the evo/prevos of Murkrow, Snorlax, Magneton, Mantine, Kirlia, Dusclops, Togetic, Yanma, Eevee, Snorunt, and Piloswine. The other ones are just kinda meh. So, the good outweighs the bad for me but, Man! Tangela and Magmar's evolutions really stink...

Eh...I'll just say I hate the Tangela, Lickitung, Magneton, Dusclops, Kiralia, Roselia, Togetic, Yanma, and Nosepass evos... A lot of those just make me wonder, "Why?"

The Rhydon evo, while looking awesome, is completely uncessary IMO. Rhydon was big and bad enough on its own, giving it an evo just takes away what made it awesome

The new Eeveelutions were enevitable...but why did it have to be Grass and Ice types? Vaporeon already learns ice attacks on its own! Why not have a Ghost Eeveelution, or perhaps Steel?

i'll agree, the kirlia, the chansey, electabuzz and magmar, piloswine, snorunt, roselia, nosepass, rhydon, and ice eevee evolutions aren't necessary whatsoever. a ghost eevee wouldn't be necessary considering you have umbreon to contend in quite the way a ghost pokemon might, but a steel pokemon would be a much better replacement for the ice.

the new species of pokemon seem to be even better contenders than most of these evos anyway.

I like them actually. Not all of them, of course, such as Togetic's, Nosepass's and Gardenvoir's, but some of them are very, very cool. I think they're new move arsenal will make them even cooler, IMO.

My esteemed opinion on these new evolutions:

Aipom: Pretty cool looking; I like the two tails thing goin' on. Aipom needed an evolution, too.

Misdreavous: Looks awesome on its own, but I don't imagine Misdreavous turning into it...x_x

Murkrow: Eh. Not a worthy successor to Murkrow...I don't like the white patch on its belly.

Bonsly: I never liked Sudowoodo much in the first place, so it doesn't surprise me in the least that I dislike Bonsly.

Mime Jr.: I honestly cannot imagine Mr. Mime's baby form being this.

Chansey: This one is absolutely and utterly perfect. It's what I imagine a baby Chansey being like. It's absolutely adorable!

Munchlax: Doesn't look like it should turn into Snorlax, to be honest...I dislike the bug eyes.

Mantine: Cute, but I doubt that Mantine needed a preevolution.

Weavile: Crap! Get me one of these on my team, now! I love it. The headdress is awesome, not to mention it finally has a nice row of teeth.

Magneton: Looks like a weapon used by some Bond villain. But...no lethal injections or anything cool springs from that rounded bottom part. Me no likey. Grr.

Lickitung: Kind of lame. I so like how fat it is, though...fits Lickitung's appetite.

Rhydon: Kickass. I'm putting one on my team for certain.

Tangela: Not too much of a far cry from Tangela. I like it.

Elekible: Looks like a walking carpet. I'd like it perfectly if it didn't have those weird antennae things on its back.

Magmar: It looks like an evil fire-clown, but I like that kind of thing. So I like this one, a lot.

Togetic: NEEEOOORRRMMM! AIRPLANE!

Yanma: ...it's evil and horrible. Yanma doesn't deserve this.

Grass Eevee: It's about time.

Ice Eevee: See "Grass Eevee." And it's not unnecessary...it looks so cute!

Gligar: If I ever get one of these, I'm naming it Alucard, I swear...it's an evil vampire thing.

Piloswine: Doesn't look like something Piloswine would turn into, but good otherwise.

Porygon Z: GOKU! THIS CREATURE WILL DESTROY THE WORLD IF WE ALLOW IT TO GROW ANY STRONGER! IT MUST BE STOPPED!

Kirlia: Pretty neat, but Meditite/Medicham is enough Fighting/Psychic for me...this is kind of unnecessary.

Nosepass: Looks like it should be classified as the "Russian Commie" Pokemon in the Pokedex.

Dusclops: It's some kind of clown...hahaha. But I like it.

Snorunt: Hurray for Ice/Ghost! I like this one very much, it's cute but kind of creepy. Just like a ghost should be.

I disliked many of these at first, but they've really started growing on me. Many of these evolutions are for Pokemon that needed them desperately. I noticed in Ruby and Sapphire, I really had a hard time finding any Pokemon that I could use easily while trying to stray from my usual favorites (Blastoise, Ninetales, etc.) and almost all of these are welcome changes. I only hate two or three of the new ones.

Heh, I agree whole heartedly with Blastoise with all of them except for Magneton's evolution, Yanma's Evolution, and Snorlax's pre-evolution. I like those three personally. Though, maybe it's just moi...

I'm not too happy with the lack of Game Freak's creavity but hey if they're pokemon, I'll experiement with them to see how they work with me.

Munchlax's pre evolution and Murkrow's/Misdrevaus's evolutions are just awesome IMO.

Oh yeah, and you forgot...

...Roselia's new evolution and preevolution. Personally, I like the evolution; the white bits on it remind me of Shiftry. The preevolution is unnecessary...and I honestly don't like the way it looks.

I'm kinda glad they finally made a grass type evo of Eevee. But Nosepass creeps me out. I think thats the only one that SHOULD stay a no evo. all the rest is meh, Dusclops evo dosen't look like it should evoled from it. and the apom evo was predictible.

Some of those don't look like real Pokemon, or any kind of evolve form... but you left out the evolved form of roselia and electabuzz. In my opinion they all look like deformed deoxys, I mean with the arms and all.

I like all the new pre/evolutions. I wish there were more...alot more. Some that really needed them didn't get them, like Shuckle, Dunsparce, Pinsir, and Kangaskhan, etc. Actually, I would've liked it if it were only pre/evolutions. I found most of the "new" pokemon to be disappointing.

I also like the alternate evolutions...though I would've liked more.

i don't know queen boo, i think the togetic evo is the best one so far. it's finally laid ground for a strong normal/flying type with a strategic, less powerhouse moveset.

Jynx should have got an evo as well, because Magmar and Electabuzz did.
I always think of them as trio, but well.

yeah, jynx definitely needed an evo. it has such a low defense and attack. but there are two problems with making a jynx evo:

-it already has such a high sp atk, sp df and speed. if it were to evolve, than it would become just more of an overused pokemon.

-it's first design, being black, was very controversial. having to improve it's design one more step is a challenge without causing some controversy with it's design.

i think it's only fair that it should get one, but then again i'm happy with my low defense jynx. if i want to raise pokemon real quickly, i just battle the biker dudes with high level weezings that know explosion, and switch them out with jynx XD.

Well, the only new evolution I like is little Missy's one - making him into a little witch is just so cute, XD

Although I really prefer they boost his physicals to 80/80/80 instead of specials to 105. But then he'll be Glalie #2, so whatever...

Be interesting if that did happen :D I wanted to see a fighting type eevee evolutiion...

However, I believe that many of the evolutions (mainly thier looks) suck. I most dislike Rhydon's evo. It is so unneccessary, and I dislike the looks.

I think i'll be sticking to training non-D/P pokemon at the beginning if possible when it does come out.

i love evos stronger versions of our pokemon with the only downside that it take longer to learn new moves bu tthey can learn certain moves (alteria dragon claw i think) but they only need kanto evos really and roselia does not need prevo and evo msybe just an evo ut i will have some on my team

it's not necessary for a lapras pre evo, and DEFINITELY not necessary for an evo of it. it's purpose is already laid out -- it's basically a pokemon you can ride in waters, and represents the legend of the loch ness monster. it's stats are good and it learns awesome moves.

I'm kind of disappointed with the 4th generation as a whole. There just aren't that many new monsters that appeal to me. They overkilled the pre-evos/evolutions and the legendaries. But seriously...what happened to 5 or 6 legendaries in a generation?! 15 is just rediculous. o.O

Everyone really needs to stop complaining about the grass and ice eeveelutions. I mean come on...we all knew they were coming eventually. You'd honestly prefer a steel-type eeveelution?! That would just be lame in my opinion.

One good thing I can say for the 4th gen...these are the best, most creative starters since Red/Blue.

the only creative starter is the water starter, but even the concept of a penguin isn't that genuine. the fire monkey is basically blaziken, but ANOTHER monkey. and the grass turtle... like there aren't enough turtles. if you don't remember, blastoise was a turtle, and having two starters that are the same kind of creature is pretty lame. if anything, the most creative starters were those in R/S/E. sceptile changed so much for the overall game because it's a fast, yet equally strong, grass pokemon. blaziken is a major powerhouse poke. swampert is a powerful, and strategic pokemon. r/s/e rocked in terms of the generation's pokemon.

I agreed with the ones that needed one, but the Rhydon one ruined the Rhydon line for me, which I happened to like. ;-;

The evolved one of Nosepass just plain scares me.

I agree totally about Rhydon's Evo. It looks sucky and there was no need for another evolution. Rhydon's tough enough already.

In fact IMO many of the new evolutions are not needed, and most the ones that needed them, IMO look crappy.

I will be getting D/P when it comes out but only mainly for the new eevee evolutions.

P/S: The evolutions for eevee strengthen my long held, freaky thought that some eevees are reincanations of young children who died before thier time. Just something freaky that won't go out of my head for some reason

I just like the new evolutions that have good stats. Some of them I find reeeallly sukky n basically they r Pokemon which aren't needed. Like for instance the Magmar evo waz just plain stupid, whats the point of having it?

while most of the Evos seem quite pointless, so do some new pokemon, like that bee one...

Some of the evolutions, make me want to eat vomit.

But anyways, Nintendo is running out of ideas, and I don't blame them. But I blame them for not calling the "Wii" the Nintendo Revolution. :P

But you have to admit, it would be hard to create even 100 new Pokemon, and people are always demanding a new game. :p

Some of them are really cool (Weaville, Glacia, Leafia, Bonsly, Munchlax, PreEvo of Chansey, Aipom's evo)

Then again, some don't look all that great (particularly Magneton, Nosepass, and Rhydon's evolved forms)

Their are some great additions to this generation, but what will the direction of the new pokemon be? I'm worried that their could end up being something like a fourth level evolution.

@ Mrbadboy3: Yeah, I agree with #1 Latias. I would think that not all of the names have been changed to the offical english versions.

I think some evolutions and preevolutions are great but others seemed to go a bit overboard. It makes me think that the creators are running out of ideas. I just hope they don't go and give an extra evolution to every pokemon that exists. =/

I Agree that these new evos are unessesary. I mean, the first generation of PKMN had really cool ones. Same with second Generation. 3rd Gen. got alittle sloppy, but still good, Now...Now they're just popping out new ones. The Yamna evo doesn't even look like an evo! Gligar...His evo is only changed by it's split body. but they could have done without Nosepass Evo AKA Mr Potato Head by: Legendary Squirtle, Ha Ha, I agree. MR POTATOE HEAD! HA! And absol evo would be cool!

apras doesn't need a pre-evo. i said it already, and i'll say it again, it serves its purpose all on it's own.

tropius and absol, however, could've both used a pre-evo, yet an evo for each of them is not necessary. absol is going to be awesome with the new moveset it has, and tropius... not so much. just a little better.

Pinsir didn't get one. Neither did Kangaskhan, which is stupid because the prevo could just be the baby from the pouch...

I wouldn't mind if they all got evo/prevos except Ditto. A Ditto evolution is absolutely unnecessary.

Is it just me, or do most of these seem completely unnecessary?
No its not because some just are come on now.

As for my thoughts on them lets see:
- Aipom evo is good and should be there.
- Misdreavous evo should be but it should look better.
- Murkow don't know about.
- Sudowudo's pre evo is such a cutie and should be but I lose the circle on its forehead.
- Mr. Mime pre evo is a cutie too and should be.
- Chansey pre evo is cute but not necessary really.
- Snorlaz pre-evo should be.
- Maintain pre evo is fine but barely.
- Sneasal evo is nice but could look better.
- Magneton is ridiculous and should not be.
- Lickitung evo is meh and probably shouldn't be.
- Rhydon's is ok but not really necessary.
- Tangela makes Magnetons evo look reasonable lol.
- Electrabuzz's evo is sorda cool.
- Magmar's evo could look better and isn't really necessary.
- Togetic's looks stupid considering what it came from plus its not too necessary.
- Yanma's evo is fine.
- Eevee's evo's could of been better looking.
- Gligar evo is fine.
- Piloswine evo is fine.
- Porygon 2's evo is stupid.
- Kirlia's evo should exist and is decent looking.
- Nosepass evo is fine to some extent.
- Dusklops evo is sorda cool.
- Snorunts evo doesn't make sense course its other one don't either appearance wise.

the tangelo evo will rock hard and you guys just don't know it! with the new grass moves like power whip, it shall make a use of tangela (finally)!
