Hello All,

Apart from the pokemon you transfer over using the Pal Park, is it possible to transfer hold items/berries over from 3rd gen games? Are there any known berries/hold items from 3rd gen not available in D/P?

Thanks In Advance

yes you can, but you must make sure that they don't know HM moves that aren't in D/P. i think that's the only criteria for trading in once both save files have the dex requiremens.

I think Samson is right along with the thing you can't trade HMs that aren't in D/P. Otherwise, you can trade just about anything.

HM moves that aren't available in Diamond and Pearl? What a stupid thought you guys have. Key items could never be attached to a Pokémon, and moves that the Pokémon know already exist in the Pokémon games to date. Any Pokémon can still have Flash, just as any Pokémon can have Dive and be traded to FireRed and LeafGreen. It's not usable, however.

Not useable? Like a dud? Sounds like a mishap on Nintendo's part. Are you sure it's not useable and not like a normal , non-HM attack? Or did you mean not useable outside of battle?

yes, this has been confirmed. you're right. the last time i checked the Discovery Thread @ Serebii, Coronis discussed that there may be requirement for hms that don't have an out-of-battle function to be replaced, but now that i checked the D/P Cross-Gen Trading page, it verifies that there are no requirements other than completing the GBA game.

My bad. The HM moves that you give a Pokémon are not usable in the field if they aren't part of the Diamond and Pearl HM set. Dive and Flash, for example, are redundant and no longer work outside of battles because the game has no need for them.

Samson, do note that Coronis is a single entity and it's never "whatever Coronis speculates goes". I'm saying that if anybody speculates, it's better to know the facts, not "Coronis says there may be this or that".

Wait.... doesnt Flash still work even though it is now a TM? (TM70) I may be wrong here but I think I remember seeing a cave which needs Flash to carry on. I'm not 100% certain on that as that was awhile ago before I got Flash....

There's only caves with fog. Cave darkness is not a condition.

Thank you all for your answers, ill start building my collection ready to transfer via pal park, which leads me to another question:

Is the list of unobtainable pokemon in D/P on Serbii accurate?

Flash is near useless in this game, except its accuracy has been beefed up to 100 in this game.
And Dive doesn't really suck now, its power is 80.

On-topic: You can transfer anything to your game, any held items.
Not sure about hacked key item on Pokemon, perhaps I will try it soon.

Yes, it's a spot-on guide.

Seems a lot of moves have been jacked up in power, eh?

But hacked key items? You mean when you use the GameShark to give it an item then trade it over? (Even so, I haven't tried that.) From what I've collected, of course every item from the Advanced games (excluding Key Items and HMs) exist in Diamond and Pearl.

I don't know the point of doing it though, other than Fossil and random fun.
I have no luck in fossil, so yeah.
